[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122796] New: Compare document - The first whole paragraph deletion will be misplaced at the end of the document

2019-01-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122796

Bug ID: 122796
Summary: Compare document - The first whole paragraph deletion
will be misplaced at the end of the document
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.2 rc
  Hardware: IA64 (Itanium)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: trancu...@gmail.com

Description:
Bug in comparing documents: If the first change (with regard to the change
position in document) is a whole paragraph deletion, that deletion will be
misplaced at the end of the document. The second and following deletions look
fine. All insertions look fine. If the first change is not a whole paragraph
deletion (e.g., partial text deletion), everything looks fine.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use any example *.docx with some paragraphs in its content
2. Make a copy of that docx as a revised version
3. Edit the revised version. Make sure that **deleting a whole paragraph** is
the first change (with regard to the change position in document)
4. Compare the revised version with the original docx

Actual Results:
The first whole paragraph deletion will appear at the end of the document
(incorrect) while other editings would appear at correct places

Expected Results:
The first whole paragraph deletion should appear correctly at where it actually
happens

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

How is this already implemented? When I right click and select "Mouse Pointer

fulfill the same purpose of a laser pointer. Did you look at the demo image I
linked to?

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122795] New: Can't enter 2 byte characters

2019-01-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122795

Bug ID: 122795
Summary: Can't enter 2 byte characters
   Product: LibreOffice Online
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: satoshi.in...@courio-city.com

In Chromium based web browsers, we have problems with entering double-byte
characters.

Once I have confirmed the letters, the letters are always entered twice in a
row.
When I confirm the character input, the letters are always input twice
consecutively.
For 2-byte character input, there are two steps of checking the character input
and confirming the input.

Example: *I intentionally write in the alphabet.

WATASHIHA MANGAGA SUKIDESU.
*I like cartoons.
*私は漫画が好きです。

WATASHIHAWATASHIHA
MANGAGAMANGAGA
SUKIDESUSUKIDESU

私は私は
漫画が漫画が
好きです好きです

One clause is doubled as above.

If this is a smartphone(Android/iOS) it is not possible to enter text fatally.
I input "WATASHIHA" and confirm the letters, only "WA" is reflected. That is
the first word.
*INPUT "私は". Only "私".

For example, I want to insert a hyperlink. And I will display the hyperlink
insertion dialog. I can not paste in the text field of that dialog. The user
needs to input by manual.

This can also be confirmed on the demo site of the Collaora.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101123] Writer Table Split Merged Cell - Enhancement request "Undo merge"

Regina Henschel changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||rb.hensc...@t-online.de

I like the idea of a 1-click unmerge. Unmerge could be done by split, but that
opens a dialog and the user needs to control the settings.

I would not mix such feature with the current split, but use a separate
command.

There is no principle problem to get the cells. The merged cell contains the
information, how many rows and columns it spans.

A problem is, which width and height to use for the now visible cells,
especially if above/below or left/right have different settings.

Another problem is, which style to use. In Writer the style information is not
kept, but the covered cells are totally empty. That is different from Calc,
where a covered cell can keep its style information. At least using the
settings from the associated template would be possible or the styles from
column and row default, if such exists.

The "corrected" archive mergedcells3.odt is the same document as
mergedcells.odt where undoing the merge of cells is done manually by editing
content.xml. Unfortunately it is not perfect. When opening with writer please
allow writer to correct things in the document. I am glad that then you get to
see the desired result. The table cells are regenerated.

I guess, it is the same problem as I have noticed with the markers.svg, bug
121130. The png-icons, which are generated from the svg-files have wrong size.
They are 1 pixel too wide and 1 pixel too high. So the large command icons
become 25x25, where they should be 24x24 (for me with 100% scaling). The
generated png-icons are stored in the cache folder.

If a command, does not have a svg-file yet, in your example the lc_zoommode,
then an ersatz is used. In this case the lc_zoomoptimal.png from Colibre and
that is a 24x24 png-icon. So the icons have different size.

The images, which belong to the toolbars, are in subfolder 'cmd' from the
icon-themes.

That is a guess, but perhaps someone can prove it. If I'm correct, then the
problem is not in the icons themselves but in the conversion to png.

I have tested this also.
You couldn't change from "information_schema" to the existing database by the
listbox in the GUI. You could only write down the name of the database in the
textfield and it will work.

The created table is also write-protected in the GUI of Base.

I could open Tools - SQL and insert values, but through GUI (and also forms) I
couldn't change anything.

Tested with LO 6.2.0.2 on OpenSUSE 15 64bit rpm Linux.

Please ignore my ignorance - I have just discovered how to create one icon on
the taskbar with pinned files displayed. With this latest version, I seem to
have created an icon on the taskbar for Calc from the File Manager .exe file
then opened a file from "Recent Files" then pinned the file. Thus, having 2
icons on the taskbar.

What I have now found is that the program itself can be pinned from an open
file, thus 1 icon only with pinned files.

I'll try to do better!

Wait, wait!

The mismatched handling of abcd.12 vs abcd.12.odt of OPs comment 0 STR does not
occur when the LibreOffice internal file picker is used--just with the marginal
VistaFilePicker() used when a "UseSystemFileDialog" is set True, as is current
default.

Points to a logic error in matching existing file string (in Windows that means
with any extension--including no extension) against the save action.

Rather seems this is an implementation error in the "native"
VistaFilePickerImpl()

Given the number of discussions scattered in the forums, and bug report

people are affected by the issue.

The question is: given the large number of cases and arguments provided by
users, would a new development effort be worth?

(I would argue that's the case)

PC ScreenShot showing 2 icons for Calc

The attached screenshot shows my PC (using Windows 7 Pro). On the lower
Taskbar, I have pinned Calc (left arrow) but this only opens Calc with a blank
sheet plus adds a 2nd icon (right arrow) on the taskbar. Only this 2nd icon
displays the pinned files that were previously set.

So, to open a pinned file, one has to open Calc from the 1st icon, then open a
pinned file from the 2nd icon - previous versions displayed and opened the
pinned files on the sole icon !!!

Valgrind trace with VALGRIND_OPTS=--fair-sched=yes

Here is another Valgrind trace.
I typed this:
export VALGRIND_OPTS=--fair-sched=yes
then
./soffice --norestore --nologo --valgrind /tmp/OT.ods >& /tmp/valgrind.log

I must recognize I didn't understand this part:
coregrind/m_scheduler/scheduler.c:#define SCHEDULING_QUANTUM 1200 // 10
