[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103000] Text paste into spreadsheet clears cell formatting if in Text Import dialog Column type set to Date (YMD)

TBeholder changed:

 CC||turbobehol...@mail.ru

In other words, everything is pasted into cells with its own format, if at all
possible — unless you paste it into during cell editing or into formula bar
rather than cell.

Seems to be the same, but appears in slightly different circumstances.
I select a fragment of text from one cell and pasting into another via primary
buffer (MMB in Linux, support in Options-LibreOffice-View). But this pastes
text with its old format, even though it was just a selection, not cell.
Format-Clear Formatting (Ctrl-M) resets to the cell's assigned old format.

IMHO not too bad, just make it controllable, especially in case of Text Import
dialog, much like Paste/Special does.

That's most likely what causes another problem (I wanted to submit a bug, but
now it looks like it would be a duplicate): there's no way to explicitly set
the intended format, and the field's own format is circumvented by pasting,
thus there's no way to avoid having pasted text like "00234E67" (hexadecimal
value) converted (into 2.34E+69). Which is bad, because data is
borked and Ctrl-M isn't going to fix this.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123673] New: Proposal of Enhancement for Writer / Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography

2019-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123673

Bug ID: 123673
Summary: Proposal of Enhancement for Writer / Table of
Contents, Index or Bibliography
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stefan_lange...@t-online.de

Actual State:
- A Table of Contents (ToC) can be created only for the entire document or for
a chapter (means document part belonging to a Heading 1).
- The Table of Contents for a chapter contains entries for the content of the
chapter but I haven't found a way to place an entry (link) pointing to the main
ToC.
- When in a document is created more than one ToC every ToC must be updated
separately, because in the Popup menu exists only the item "Update index".

I propose:
- ToC can be be created also for subchapters, means parts of the document
belonging to lower headings (Heading 2, 3 etc.).
- (Optionally) one can define in a ToC for a chapter or subchapter also entries
for "father index/indices" and/or main ToC. This woluld be useful especially
when index entries are built as hyperlinks.
- In the Popup Menu for indices will inserted a menu item "Update all indces"
to easier handle the indices when in a document is created more than one index.

Thanks - I understand the issue now.

I Draw/Impress you can use styles for shapes. Not exactly the same, but similar
powerful.
In Writer, Calc, .. styles for shapes do not exist.

Set to New (possibly there already is a ticket for drawing styles in Writer..)

For me, it doesn't get to the lower part of the dialog. From orientation it
goes ..?, and then to the tab of the page again.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123670] New: EDITING:

2019-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123670

Bug ID: 123670
   Summary: EDITING:
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: drw333s...@gmail.com

Calc has changed the way that the use of "Shift"+"End"+"Down" selects cells in
multiple columns. For selection in the same column, the selected cells stop
with the first empty cell, as expected.

In all prior versions of Calc and certainly Excel, if one starts at, say, A1
with "Shift" to start the selection then, holding "Shift" down, traverses over
to C1, then uses "End"+"Down", the selection of cells is defined by the first
empy cell in column C.

However, the new Calc doesn't shift the focus to column C and still selects
cells based on the first empty cell in column A. This holds true in all the
variations of multi-column cell selections. This is a major departure from what
I imagine is a pretty universal understanding in spreadsheet navigation. Please
correct unless there is some fundamental change in standards that I had missed.
Thanks,
Don

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123669] New: Apple store requires Apple ID to download LibreOffice updates

2019-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon

updates
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ranordsi...@gmail.com

Description:
Apple store asks for Apple ID every time there is a new LibreOffice Vanilla
update. I don't need to do that to update my OS or any other app. I am the same
person on the same MacBook Pro. How do I fix this?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. First, the Apple Store icon shows a number indicating how many updates are
waiting to be downloaded.
2. Click the Apple Store icon, and Updates tab, then select LibreOffice update.
3.

Actual Results:
Dialog box appears asking user to enter Apple ID. Will not download update
without it.

Expected Results:
For all other SW updates from Apple Store, download and installation occurs
automatically after selecting the desired update.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123668] New: Text search can select text for replacement/deletion.

2019-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123668

Bug ID: 123668
Summary: Text search can select text for replacement/deletion.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: davidjudysm...@gmail.com

Description:
When a find operation switches from slides to notes, or vice versa, the found
text is selected for deletion or replacement. This is probably related to bug
123665.

Steps to Reproduce:
I first created a test presentation (attached) with the following three slides:
Slide Title Slide Notes
Slide 1 First page of notes
This is the first slide of three
Slide 2 Second page of notes
This is the second slide of three
Slide 3 Third page of notes
This is the third slide of three

1. In the slide pane, click on the first slide. Click on the Normal tab to
display the slide.

2. Choose Edit / Find, or press Ctrl-F. In the search box, type "slide"
(without the quotes) and click the "find next" button (the large down-arrow in
the Find toolbar at the bottom of the screen). The word "Slide" is
highlighted.
This is correct.

3. Continue clicking the "find next" button until the notes view of slide 1 is
displayed. (Nothing is highlighted -- see 123665.)

4. Click the "find next" button again. "Slide" is highlighted, and there is a
blinking vertical-bar cursor after the word. Pressing Enter or any other key
at this point causes the word "slide" to be replaced by whatever is typed.

Actual Results:
See above. Behavior is inconsistent: on the slides, the highlighted text will
not be deleted on pressing Enter. (In fact, Enter acts the same as "find
next.") On the notes, the highlighted text, with the blinking cursor, will be
deleted by Enter. This is different from text searches in Writer, in which
Enter and "find next" work identically and the found text never shows a cursor.

Note that a similar thing happens if the search is started when Notes is
displayed: when the search switches to Normal slides, the next highlighted
result includes a cursor.

Expected Results:
I expected the text found by the search to be selected, but not to be deleted
if I press Enter.

Looks like LibreOffice (Version: 6.0.7.3, Build ID: 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.2)
has a hard requirement on just the zip version field. But only in Central
directory's "version needed to extract" (see:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zip_(file_format)#Central_directory_file_header).
Looks like this version needs to less of equal to 30. Other version fields can
be 45: Local file header's version and "version made by" in central directory.

For a Excel and LibreOffice compatible zip64 compressor implementation see:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123666] New: file dialog opens too small

2019-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123666

Bug ID: 123666
Summary: file dialog opens too small
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: li...@drmartinus.de

Description:
Whenever I open the file dialog to open a document or to save a document, the
dialog is so small that it's hardly possible to read filenames. Every time I
resize it, yet the next time it's again far too small. It seems to use the KDE
file dialog, and I was looking if there is an option to use LO's own file
dialog, but didn't find it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LO
2. click on open a document
3.

Actual Results:
the file dialog opens, but it's too small, so that navigation and reading file
names is quite difficult.

Expected Results:
the file dialog should open in the same size in which it was used the last time
(LO used to do that before the last update).

Nobody answer ?
I confirm some troubles.
It's impossible to have format, you need all the date set, 05/2001 doesn't
work...so you have to use some workaround like this :
=TEXTE(DATE(1;B1;11);"") with month number in B1, if you want only show the
month with letter.

(we can have this in another online spreadsheet by the way)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123665] New: Inconsistent behavior of "find next" in slides and notes

2019-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123665

Bug ID: 123665
Summary: Inconsistent behavior of "find next" in slides and
notes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: davidjudysm...@gmail.com

Description:
When searching for text in slides, Enter (meaning "find next") stops working
after switching to slide notes. The "find next" button switches to slide notes
without finding the text, but then starts working again.

Steps to Reproduce:
I first created a test presentation with the following three slides:
Slide Title Slide Notes
Slide 1 First page of notes
This is the first slide of three
Slide 2 Second page of notes
This is the second slide of three
Slide 3 Third page of notes
This is the third slide of three

1. In the slide pane, click on the first slide. If necessary, click on the
Normal tab to display the slide.

2. Choose Edit / Find, or press Ctrl-F. In the search box, type "slide"
(without the quotes) and press Enter. On Slide 1, the word "Slide" is
highlighted.

3. Press Enter twice more. Each time, the word "Slide" is highlighted on a
slide.

4. Press Enter again. The display switches to Notes view of Slide 1, but
nothing is highlighted, even though "slide" appears in the note.

5. Continue pressing Enter. Nothing happens.

6. Click "find next" (the large down-arrow in the Find toolbar at the bottom of
the screen). "Slide" is highlighted in the Notes for Slide 1. Press "find
next" twice more. "Slide" is highlighted in the notes of the next two slides.

Slightly different behavior, using "find next."

1. In the slide pane, click on the first slide. Click on the Normal tab to
display the slide.

2. Choose Edit / Find, or press Ctrl-F. In the search box, type "slide"
(without the quotes) and click the "find next" button (the large down-arrow in
the Find toolbar). On Slide 1, the word "Slide" is highlighted.

3. Click the "find next" button twice more. Each time, the word "Slide" is
highlighted on a slide.

4. Click "find next" again. The display switches to Notes view of Slide 1, but
nothing is highlighted, even though "slide" appears in the note.

5. Click "find next" again. "Slide" is highlighted in the Notes for Slide 1.
Press "find next" twice more. "Slide" is highlighted in the notes of the next
two slides.

Actual Results:
See above. The Enter key, as "find next," stops working after switching from
Notes view to Normal View. The "find next" button fails to work on the click
that switches to Notes view but then resumes working.

Expected Results:
Consistent behavior of both Enter and "find next" when searching for text in
slides and notes.

Using the keyboard Numpad provided "+" key opens the Insert Cells dialog. But
using the shifted =/+ does not.

Looks like we define a "KEY_MOD1 | KEY_ADD" mapping, but *not* a "KEY_SHIFT |
KEY_MOD1 | KEY_ADD" is that needed to make this shortcut/accelerator
functional?

  Reporter: jdhart...@generalmail.com

Description:
It's a small thing, but one of the annoying reasons I am leaving Open Office.
But unfortunately I don't find that the feature is in Libre Office either, so I
am asking for it. Most of the Mac programs I use allow me to hold down a key
which has foreign language variants (i.e. accents). This then displays all the
available variants of the character by number. One can then select the desired
variant (by number) and pressing this number then replaces the standard
character (i.e. e with é) It's all really simple and fast. I need this because
I use a standard US keyboard layout, but live in o foreign country and write a
lot in Spanish. I think it would be a great feature to add to Libre Office.
Perhaps the code is actually already available to be dropped in, as the feature
is already widely available in other programs. I hope so as I am really liking
Libre Office and intend to replace Open Office with it. Best Regards, John D.
Hartung

The feature is apparently not present

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123662] New: EDITING: matrix formula fails if filter is applied

2019-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123662

Bug ID: 123662
Summary: EDITING: matrix formula fails if filter is applied
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: oliver.brinz...@gmx.de

Created attachment 149545
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=149545=edit
autofilter edit matrix formula

steps to reproduce:

- open attached spreadsheet:
cell range "D3:D8" contains matrix formula {=C3:C8-B3:B8} and
autofilter hides some rows, cell C3 is selected

- press Ctrl+/ (/ from numeric pad) to select the matrix formula
- press F2 to edit the matrix formula
- change formula: =C3:C8-B3:B8+1 and press Shift+Ctrl+Enter
-> error msg: This function cannot be used with multiple selections.

seems like Ctrl+/ selects the view and not the data range:
MRI shows selection: "AbsoluteName string $Tabelle1.$D$3:$D$5"

btw: no problem if some rows are hidden manually without an autofilter applied

If you have a look in the core/i18npool/source/localedata/data/fr_FR.xml
localdata file, you can see that the abbreviated name and the fullname are the
same, it occurs for mai and mars, see belowL
(you can see similar example in the de_DE.xml file)

If you have a mix between full name and abbreviated name, LO thinks it's the
full name which is used.

I've tried to set the cell type to "Date" and 'Décember' format (month only) :
no effect.

Extract of local file :

if i open your "file with two pivot tables", change data on "Sheet1"
and do a hard recalc, the pivot table will not update.

seems every pivot table needs a refresh via menu
"Data/Pivot Table/Refresh" or sometihng like:

oDoc = ThisComponent
oDoc.calculateAll()
For i = 0 To oDoc.getSheets().getCount()-1
  oDataPilotTables = oDoc.getSheets().getByIndex(i).getDataPilotTables()
  For j = 0 To oDataPilotTables.getCount()-1
   oDataPilotTables.getByIndex(j).refresh()
  Next j

There is a design-bug in this dialogue. Could be it appears only in LO together

sorting instead. I will report this as another bug to the bug Firebird import

Oh...

Did that actually just start with the new LibreOffice version 6.2.1 and was not
the case with the earlier version 6.2.0.3 that this bug report was initially
created against? I'm not aware of any relevant change that may have changed
that, but if that actually changed, one might have a look at what was the cause
for this.

Is there any problem with installing the linked kio libraries for this scenario
(even though they're not used at run time)?
If needed, I'd usually expect that distro packages whould have it as a
dependency, and e.g. Debian packages behave that way [1], so the problem you
describe wouldn't occur there.
Like the name suggests, the "kde5" VCL plugin is primarily targeted at
providing good integration into kde5, so without further knowledge, I'm not
sure whether it's actually a bug it requires kf5 libraries. But I totally see
your point it's somewhat unfortunate they're required when they're not even
used at run time.

Do you have an idea on how to solve this? I'm not really familiar with what
options you might use to influence linking or any other aspect in a way to
properly address this.
