[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95479] Flicker in slide animation fade in

2019-02-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Found it at
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/4.3.7.2/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_4.3.7.2_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz
and tried it out.

Result: I couldn't actually try it out. Launching Impress results in the
splash screen coming up for such a brief amount of time that I couldn't even
capture it with Peek:
https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/503500/running-an-old-version-of-libreoffice

Since I would like to use this for a production-quality video, I guess I'm out
of options until this is fixed...aside from switching to Google Slideshow,
which does fade transitions without trouble on the same system. :/

Isn't there some flag I can use somewhere to revert to the old behaviour?

I don't believe the File - Export... code path has anything to do with printer

--- Comment #10 from kevinjamesfi...@gmail.com ---
Seeing this on the following system:

Linux Mint 19
Kernel Linux 4.15.0-45-generic x86_64
MATE 1.20.1
16 GB RAM
Intel® Core™ i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz × 4
Intel HD 4400 Graphics

This flicker happens consistently (although more with the flicker in the middle
of the fade, rather than right before the end) on both of the following
LibreOffice Impress versions:

Version: 6.2.0.3
Build ID: 98c6a8a1c6c7b144ce3cc729e34964b47ce25d62
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Version: 6.0.7.3
Build ID: 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.2
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

I've also tried the screen tearing advice here:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=208&t=224942#p1197049 But that
didn't make any difference in this case.

FWIW, this problem is also in the latest version of Apache OpenOffice Impress.

Could anyone point me to an archive of an older Impress version that didn't
have this trouble? Unfortunately my laptop only has the one video card, so I
have no way of switching to nVidia or any other non-Intel graphics chipset.

narrowing down:

fails looks dependent on placing the copy above or below the original,
(maybe that's the situation where 'shared formulas' are created)

fails looks dependent on formulas calculating a range,
('=SUM(A1:B1)' and '=MAX(A1:B1)' will fail, while '=A1+B1' and '=SUM(A1;B1)'
will work),

there must be some sort of 'property' with a cell that can lock it from being
'autocalculated'?,

or some sort of label attached to its 'place in the sheet' saying
'autocalculate unneccessary'?,

this property is hidden, out of view and access by the user,

it violates the statement what autocalculate should do
('All cells are recalculated after a sheet cell has been modified.')

i'd like to yell 'alarm!!!' in capitals but don't know if that's appropriate in
the community,

it's 'nice' that this error disappears after save - load,

other similar problems don't!,

this fault is trapping users and waisting time of programmers and debuggers,

Could it be tied to printer settings? Setting the printer to print to PDF
versus a physical printer or something? I'm currently set to print to
microsoft PDF versus my physical printer (I'm out of ink and my output is for

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123754] New: Addition of "Eye Protection" View

2019-02-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ddm...@gmail.com

Description:
I've been happily using LibreOffice for a while now and would like to make the
following suggestion.

I wondered if it would it be possible to add an "Eye Protection" View to the
LibreOffice programs (Writer, Calc, Impress, Base, Draw, Math, etc.), which is
something that has been implemented in WPS Office which turns the background of
a document from white to a pleasant greenish colour (or another colour or even
better if it's customisable) that is comfortable for the eyes.

As many people have to work on their documents for a long time so that would
really help to protect the eyes from the glare of the white background. It
would be great if this simple but incredibly helpful enhancement is
implemented! Thank you!

Description:
I normal boot my Windows 10 pc or I wake my pc from sleep mode. As I work with
docs from either writer or calc, LO will freeze with notation at the top of LO:
"Libreoffice not responding". LO screen fades to a lighter white and does not
respond; happens when I try to save or close LO after a few minutes of use. I
have tried resetting the profile, not usine OpenGL, not using hardware
acceleration.  I have uninstalled both 64 bit versions and 6.0 and 6.1;
installed the 32 bit version, and still LO freezes. I have a 250 GB SSD, 8GB
RAM; plenty of hard drive space, lots of RAM available; still freezing. I
don't get this freezing on my old Linux pc or my old Win XP Pro pc. The
freezing also occurred when I first istalled LO 5.4 on this Windows 10 pc;
that's why I upgraded to 6.0.

Actual Results:
Listed above in my description.

Not freeze after using for a few minutes.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123752] New: EDITING: Regression in handling of the group separator in formula context

2019-02-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123752

Bug ID: 123752
Summary: EDITING: Regression in handling of the group separator
in formula context
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bug...@tukesoft.com

Calc version 6.2 introduced a regression with a possibility of data corruption.
This affects locales where the grouping separator is not comma.

Steps to reproduce:

1) use a locale like fi_FI for the document
2) enter a value like 12345,67 into a worksheet cell
3) pick a number format like "# ##0,00" for the cell
4) copy the cell to clipboard
5) enter another cell, type a starting = and paste

The result is Err:509 in the target cell and the pasted value has an extra zero
before the decimal separator, i.e. =123450,67

If the worksheet with such an error is closed and then reopened, the error
status gets cleared but the value in the target cell is the one with an extra
zero.

This happens with both the provided Windows binary (6.2.0.3) and a Linux
version (6.2.1.1) compiled from source.

If the originating cell has a format with no group separator or if the group
separator of the locale is comma, everything works like before.

The reason behind the regression appears to be an incomplete fix to bug 42518,
since reverting commits 673bd16887c354981120f7ebea44b25b0ab2e41e and
9336286a7ea5385541344f444e6f8702c85bdacb is enough to build a binary without
the regression.

result: a stopsign appears.

expected: image will be included in the document like in older LO versions.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123749] New: Problem with duplicate Global Menu in Gnome and KDE

2019-02-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123749

Bug ID: 123749
Summary: Problem with duplicate Global Menu in Gnome and KDE
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: andreale...@outlook.com

Description:
Very good for all of you, beforehand I want to thank you for all your work on
this software and congratulate you for being an example to follow.

Of the several years that I have been using this office suite is the first time
I write, it happens that since the update of version 6.1.5.2 in the repository
ppa:libreoffice/ppa for Ubuntu Budgie 18.04.2 and KDE Neon, the Global Menu
that these distributions have integrated now has serious visualization
problems.

Initially I thought it was an individual problem, but it is replicated in both
Gnome and KDE as well.

The Global Menu now duplicates and fills the entire main panel making it very
difficult to use. It is the only application that has this problem among all
those installed in the OS. The drop-down menus work well but visually spoils
the whole main OS panel.

The problem happens in Ubuntu Budgie 18.04.2 with GNOME 3.28.2 and Kernel
4.18.0-15-generic and also in KDE Neon with Plasma 5.15.1 and Kernel 4.15. Both
with the same problem.

I thank you very much for your attention and support to improve this problem
and wish you the best of fortunes.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Add repository $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa $$ sudo apt
upgrade
2.I enter any LibreOffice application (Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw) and see the
Global Menu occupying the whole main panel of the distribution.

Actual Results:
Menu bar in LibreOffice duplicated or repeated throughout the panel with Global
Menu.

Expected Results:
Let LibreOffice run its menu bar normally.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Yes, the correct parameter "stack_guard_gap=1"

With ubuntu 18.04.2 32-bit, the master branch is building with this parameter.

Paste doesn't work after a copy from Firefox.

We're guessing here as we would need your document (anonymize by changing
values to "8" s). But IIUC the autoformatting to Scientific notation for
"General" numbers has not changed.

Font's change from system to build to system build--Arial on OSX is not Arial
on Windows. Also LibreOffices font handling has been changed several times in
the interim. There also have been changes to calc for calculating cell height
and cell width, as well as adjustments to how "Use printer metrics for text
formatting" behaves.

So it would be abnormal to not have some layout changes in the ensuing builds
and versions of your document.

So please do this. Make a copy of the document. Then open the copy and select
the active cells on the sheet, set your font size back to 6pt--and in the
Column label area select one of the grid lines. Open context menu and apply
"Optimal Width".

Are the resulting cell widths more acceptable--and does it fit as you'd prefer?
Also, does selecting another font format things better than Arial? Perhaps a
Monospaced font like Consolas, Liberation Mono, or DejaVu Sans Mono?

Hi,

I am at the origin of this idea to have it in LO, because I think it is a
feature which can be used by everybody, not only blind people. And beyond the
fact it would be more safe to have it maintained properly in the core, I
thought it was better as it enabled to have the feature in an existing
dialog/command, eg. Wizard.

(In reply to Samuel Mehrbrodt (CIB) from comment #7)
> My take is: This is a very good candidate for an extension, but not for a
> core feature.
> This is a very specific use case and as you say, each bank has different

Specific I dont think, really, everybody needing to fill checks may like this,
in particular in companies where payment is by checks for some administrative
processes.

> checks. Providing templates for all banks in the world is not LO's
> responsibility.

And here you are right. The problem of our current idea is that just French
people can use it safely. I dont know how checks are in other countries. And I
understand LO cannot have in the core a so specific feature.

pls. check the following:

while cells in D4:D12 are clean copys of D3 - just copy D3 over the range -
column D works fine on moving around and changing the values to be calculated,

once you edit the formula in any of these copied cells (may be they form
something like a 'shared formula group'?) autocalculate is broken for some or
all of the others,

same for col. E,

if you find that happen the bug might likely be a facet of tdf#123736

what's driving me nuts on this bug ... no differences in the cells or formulas
are apparent to the user, but cells work dramatically different while their
copies are untouched - correct, or when they get the 'stamp' 'a copy of mine
has been altered' - they become excluded from autocalculate,

it's not relevant how you copy the source formula, dragging works as well as
ctrl-c ctrl-v on the range or individual cells sequentially, when you copy them
'chaotic' (not below or above another but with spaces) the bug doesn't occur
...

Unfortunately there are a lot of open bugs and every developer is free to take

Looks like a SwXShape is created for the object when the box is created. If
there is no a11y, then that SwXShape is no longer needed and is discarded. Each
time we save then a new SwXShape is created and discarded.

If a11y is active, the SwXShape sticks around, so no new one is needed to be
created, just the existing one reused.

But the SwXShape is created without a view so the sort of "snapshot" mode of
SvxTextEditSourceImpl is in action where the text that exists the first time
the text is queryed sticks as the result.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123746] New: Allow VLOOKUP function to work on the left specifying a negative index

2019-02-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123746

Bug ID: 123746
Summary: Allow VLOOKUP function to work on the left specifying
a negative index
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.0 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: blackh...@lobianco.org

Description:
The VLOOKUP() function works specifying a value to look-up in a column X and
the number of columns on the right where to retrieve the desired output on the
same raw of the founded value.

Often however I find myself to have the value to look-up on the right, and the
return value on the left.

My suggestion is to allow specifying a negative index of number of column and
this would have to be interpreted to lookup the value on the rightmost column
of the interval given and return the value on the specified column on the left.

Steps to Reproduce:
VLOOKUP(A1:D10,"car",2,0) (current implementation) returns the value in the B
column at the row where on column A the word "car" is found.

VLOOKUP(A1:D10,"car",-2,0) (proposed implementation) should return the value in
the C column at the row where on column D the word "car" is found.

Actual Results:
Negative index results in an error

Expected Results:
Negative index should mirror the request and look at the left of the rightmost
column.

Reproducible: Always
