This is perhaps now a windows- or locale- specific issue. Perhaps Roman can

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124860] FileOpen: Formula result has different alignment than regular values

2019-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124860

I tried all combinations of of settings for Number recognition / Number format
recognition / Alignment and could not find a setting that actually prevented
the horizontal alignment issue reported in Bug 125371l; this is in v6.2.3.2 (to
be exact: 6.2.3.2-1.fc30 in Fedora).

>From a user point of view this is clearly a bug, as you simply don't notice
when aligment of one or a few cells changes in a bigger table, eventually even
on the next page so you don't actually see it move.

*Please* fix! Thanks!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125380] New: FILESAVE XLSX write includes col record incompatible with LibreOffice

2019-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125380

Bug ID: 125380
Summary: FILESAVE XLSX write includes col record incompatible
with LibreOffice
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: d...@sheetjs.com

Description:
When saving a new file to the XLSX file format, LO writes the following column
record:

"min" and "max" are 1-indexed and inclusive, so this describes columns A:AMK.
LO currently supports 1024 columns so that column AMK is technically outside of
the valid range.

The following two records are equivalent to the one LO writes:

However, due to the column restriction, the latter elicits a warning.

The fix is to write that col record with range up to 1024:

Actual Results:
LO-generated XLSX references column 1025

Expected Results:
LO-generated XLSX should not reference unsupported columns

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Dear Mathias Baumbach,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master

screenshot from 6.3 alpha1

LO calc sheet tabs are increased in height and width for 6.3 Alpha1. Lots of
wasted space. With LO Calc 6.3.0 Alpha0 and before the tabs are just big enough
to fit the sheet name. With 6.3 Alpha1 there is lots of empty space in tabs. I
have attached two screenshot examples. With Alph0 I display 20 sheet tab names
that fit on the tabs very well. On the same screenshot with Alpha1 15 tabs
appear with lots of wasted space requiring additional tabbing to see all the
tabs. I think it should be put back as in Alpha0 and previous releases. It
serves no purpose, not more readable etc. to have the tabs oversize.

Hi,

this is going to be a bit more complicated.

I'm running the following Libreoffice version:

Version: 6.1.5.2 (x64)
Build-ID: 90f8dcf33c87b3705e78202e3df5142b201bd805
CPU-Threads: 8; BS: Windows 10.0; UI-Render: Standard;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: CL

There's this game called "The Division 2" and a lot of people made so called
"Gear Set Builder". They can be found online and are available for the public.
One of those documents is available via Google here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTMyKlW90Q2H3RDKXF7cISzVgs7aM9tjqFtf2ZH6i1e_U_8K_LUD2-2ccTrXrgsLBUW15U-9z7u5tgz/pubhtml#

When you check the "Landing Page", you see that it can be downloaded as PDF
here:

https://www.google.com/url?q=https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTMyKlW90Q2H3RDKXF7cISzVgs7aM9tjqFtf2ZH6i1e_U_8K_LUD2-2ccTrXrgsLBUW15U-9z7u5tgz/pub?output%3Dpdf&sa=D&ust=1558306155334000&usg=AFQjCNGV5jIztGuK-LdXCuPwyQ8ib3Y7jA

There's no option to download it as XSLX or as ODS but by modifying the URL you
can get an XLSX or ODS download.

XLSX:
https://www.google.com/url?q=https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTMyKlW90Q2H3RDKXF7cISzVgs7aM9tjqFtf2ZH6i1e_U_8K_LUD2-2ccTrXrgsLBUW15U-9z7u5tgz/pub?output%3Dxlsx&sa=D&ust=1558306155334000&usg=AFQjCNGV5jIztGuK-LdXCuPwyQ8ib3Y7jA

ODS:
https://www.google.com/url?q=https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTMyKlW90Q2H3RDKXF7cISzVgs7aM9tjqFtf2ZH6i1e_U_8K_LUD2-2ccTrXrgsLBUW15U-9z7u5tgz/pub?output%3Dods&sa=D&ust=1558306155334000&usg=AFQjCNGV5jIztGuK-LdXCuPwyQ8ib3Y7jA

Note the "output" parameter in the URL.

The first thing that you see is that opening the ODS file with Libreoffice
crashes it immediatly. It then restarts, tries to recover and crashes again.
This can turn into an endless loop with multiple soffice.bin processes becoming
stuck in the background.

This in itself would be a bug, but yeah, if Google doesn't provide the right
document format...

Nevertheless, now it's getting interesting:

I am able to open the XLSX version of the document. Work with it, modify it,
everything. When saving it as an ODS later on, it seems to work as well, at
least most of the time...

Saving the document as ODS already crashes Libreoffice half of the time. The
other half produces a file, which when opened, then crashes Libreoffice. Also
storing the file as XLSX again crashes Libreoffice.

I have no idea what is going on with this file, but it's really strange.

Feel free to download the files above, they're shared on Reddit and on the
Ubisoft forums and are available to the public. Also if you have further
questions please let me know and I'll try to answer.

As mentioned below and tested later: DISABLING OPENGL FIXES IT.

Thanks!

KR,

Oliver

The background color was manual adjustment. The toolbar follows white ... As
well as the highlight (in blue) of the tools. In version 6.1 (earlier

There is no change in Safe Mode. The design stays the same.

I recently tested ClearOS (from Intel) and did not see interface problems
(version 6.2). It seems that some complement is missing from Deepin.

As I use the AppImage version, the problem still persists.

But you did not ask to do the tests; and leave it as "unconfirmed" if the

The template manager... Didn't think of that.
Scenario:

Delete ~/.config/libreoffice
Start writer
Open template manager - works fine.
click 'cancel, close writer.
Start writer.
Open template manager - hangs.

Acutally I don't even need a template to reproduce.

I tired running bibisect against this (for the duplicate issue) and couldn't
come up with a reasonable commit for where it came in, but I did not run
against the gap repo between 6.1 and 6.2, maybe it was during that time frame.
Though it looks like that isn't needed actually

Just to agree with some folks here, it would seem reasonable that when Number
Recognition is disabled overall it should not matter if Alignment is selected
or null, and that is what I would call an anomaly.

Alright well bibisect was no help, but then yet another read of that other
issue and I suppose it wasn't really needed anyway.

Simply closing this as a dupe of 124860

I also guess that this issue should be marked as a duplicate of 124860 and the

Alright in the second pass: Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: 129d1fe9fdb448a764f6c181705a61d4db321904
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;

If Number recognition is not enabled then the error does not manifest.
If Number recognition w/Number format recognition only selected, it does not.
If Number recognition w/both Format and Alignment selected, the 'error' does
manifest.

I'm going to treat any time it shows up as a bad run, for the purposes of this
bibisect run. Will come back when all the runs are finished.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125373] New: Paragraph style editing and application is not applied to the paragraph properly.

2019-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125373

Bug ID: 125373
Summary: Paragraph style editing and application is not applied
to the paragraph properly.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dreapp...@yahoo.com

Description:
Writer problem: For some documents, I can right click in a paragraph, select
"Paragraph → Paragraph ..." menu option, adjust the paragraph style, and it
appears to affect every paragraph with that style (bad behavior). On other
documents, it only affects the paragraph where the cursor is located (expected
behavior). Even when adjusting the indent/margin icon at the top of the page
(in the ruler), all paragraphs were affect by the change rather than just the
one paragraph where the cursor was (bad behavior). And when attempting to set a
paragraph style to a paragraph by double-clicking the style name in the
side-bar selection list, it does NOT apply the style - sometimes, in some
documents. When editing a style (by selecting it in the side-bar with the
"Edit" context menu option), applying a change to a style that is the basis for
other styles sometimes does and sometimes does not affect other styles that are
based on the style. And further, it sometimes does and sometimes does not
affect the paragraphs of the document that have those styles applied to them.
VERY CONFUSING AND INCONSISTENT BEHAVIOR.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select a paragraph by placing the cursor anywhere in the paragraph.
2.Open the side-bar and select the Styles and Formatting pane.
3.Select the paragraph icon.
4.Double-click any style you want.
5.Observer whether the style is applied to the paragraph or not. (Usually won't
be.)
6.Edit the style (right-click the style name and selected Edit)
7.Change an option like font or spacing.
8.Select Apply or OK.
9.Change should be applied to the paragraph, but probably won't be.

Actual Results:
Changes applied to entire document when only one paragraph selected for
updating. Or changes not applied at all. Inconsistent behavior.

Expected Results:
Changes should be applied, all the time, to only the selected paragraph (when
choosing the "Paragraph → Paragraph..." option within a paragraph), or only
those paragraphs that have the selected style applied (when editing a style
from the side-bar list).

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
There is no Help - About LibreOffice for this that I can find. Especially
dealing with templates (another issue that is also not functioning properly).

I guess I should of checked that more deeply.

So - by way of keeping some notes here.

Using the first instance of the bibsect run:
Version: 6.2.5.0.0+
Build ID: 6c3ceaf3e4d59c658d0f9e4e1b22204be25f74e2
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;

If Number recognition is not enabled then the error manifests.
If Number recognition w/Number format recognition only selected, it does not.
If Number recognition w/both Format and Alignment selected, error does
manifest.

Question. This block on all of these bugs is huge, old (2017), and getting
older, and none of the bugs I've reported will be addressed until 109323 is.

No one has picked this up. If I had the technical talent I'd do it myself, but
trust me, you don't want me anywhere near LO code.

Is there any timeline for anyone tackling 109323?

I did try setting number recognition in at least on of the test runs and didn't
notice a difference - still waiting on the bibisect repos to finish updating,
when that finishes and I start the run I'll make a point to try it again.

BTW - checking against 6.1 didn't show the error either.

Thank you for reporting this. I've checked the text copied from Thunderbird

I see the text copied from Thunderbird have the Unicode Character 'NO-BREAK

checked the CLEAN which it's supposed to remove non printable characters but it
didn't.

Will look at it further later D.V.

Confirmed with Ubuntu 18.04.1 and LO 6.3 Alpha1 and 6.2.4 RC1
Test also with LO 6.0.7 and the behavior is not there.

As for fixing the display, if you place the cursor in the effected cell and
then select 'Clear direct formatting' it fixes the display problem.

I'll try a copy of 6.1 and either bibisect from there (if there) or against
6.2.

Creating a new ODF Text document template (.OTT) from default profile.

New text document, changing just Default style font attributes from Automatic
to color Green. And entering some sample text into one paragraph. Then saving-as
ODF Text document template.

The new template can be used to create a new text document with Writer
directly--applying the modified default style--by opening the *.ott from system
file manager, or LibreOffice filte manager (when enabled expert config).

The new template can be imported into the template manager--using path for
Templates showing set in Tools -> Options -> Paths, and opened from there.

I did see a crash if using the Template Manager's Move action to relocate the
template to a different category, including the MyTemplates--but it was not
consistent that I could work out.

2019-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 125371
Summary: Calculation in table destroys left alignment
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: w...@denx.de

Created attachment 151513
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=151513&action=edit
Example Table to show the problem.

If a table contains cells which are left-aligned, and which contain formula,
there lose alignment and get automatically right-aligned after the displayed
value changes due to data changed elsewhere.

The example table contains a trivial calculation, the intreresting cell is left
bottom () - it is intentionally left-aligned and formatted as currency.

When changing any value anywhere in the table - say, changing the upper left
cell () from '5' to '6', the content of the table will be re-calculated,
and cell gets right-aligned.

Note that this cannot even be restored by using "undo" - this will change the
values back, but not fix the alignment.

and no local help.

And here, toggling "Extended tips" does not affect the tooltip--contrasted to
StartCenter which will wrap the tooltip onto multiple lines when extended tips
is active.

So rather than a new line, just adding a white space to the sting would also be
valid fix.
