[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124785] FILEOPEN RTF New, empty paragraph appears in the footer
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124785 --- Comment #5 from Gabor Kelemen --- The problem is that the main content of this footer is inside a frame in Word, that is placed in the footer. The footer still has its empty default paragraph, and the frame is anchored to that. This frame is positioned such way that the last paragraph is exactly at the bottom border of the paper. In Writer the frame is not present in the Navigator as a separate entity. Its content is folded into the footer main text, before the default empty paragraph, which appears after the page number. Also the first paragraph has an upper border that is lost, and some 6pt spacing after instead of 0 - these should go as a separate bug (or two). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121618] VIEWING: When the document displays !broken!! instead of the correct text, writer can lock up
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121618 Luke Kendall changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #9 from Luke Kendall --- Have you tried searching the source code for the occurrence of the strings: "!broken!!" "!br0ken!!" or even just "!!"? I would be looking for a use of this in code that could be called when displaying text in the main document canvas. I was worried this would be hard to reproduce; this is my best suggestion after thinking about it for a while. My guess is that this is a weird end-case and some programmer wisely decided to display the warning string instead of referencing through a NULL pointer or an uninitialised data structure it detected. So based on this logic, my guess is the text string might occur in only a handful (or even just one) place in the entire source code. What do you think? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 102616] EDITING: Compare documents on near-identical files flags 99.9% of the contents as different
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102616 --- Comment #11 from Luke Kendall --- This bug is as bad or worse in Writer 6.2.3.2. Because I was preparing 4 editions of my book, I have 4 versions of the MS. I'll need to report several bugs in Writer for this. Anyway, because of these other bugs, it was important to compare the different MSes. Writer never was able to provide a useful comparison. In the end I had to use MS Office365 to compare .docx versions of the MSes saved from Writer. This was doing a merge comparison. The main problems I had with Writer were (in order of seriousness): 1. As reported, basically the entire document is flagged as changed. This applied even when the documents used the same paragraph styles (except for chapter title paragraph style), same page format, and same body text paragraph style. 2. Undo of a file comparison is not just incomplete, applying Undo can introduce unexpected changes. On one occasion, the Undo changed the final body paragraphs by applying an All Capitals attribute. My recollection is that it also left some Chapter Title paragraphs in a strange state, as well as losing some page breaks. 3. Writer would often crash as soon as the comparison started. 4. After recovery from said crash, the Manage Changes dialog would be open for every recovered document, and have to be closed separately. I also noticed that the .docx files produced by Writer are difficult for other word processors to compare. This was because regardless of how little editing I had done to my MS, for every real change I had made there would be 10 or 20 "null differences" found by the other word processor. These usually but not always appeared as a space character at the end of paragraphs, but sometimes between words in a paragraph. I don't know if it's indicative of an underlying problem, but ONLY Office365 could produce useful comparisons of Writer-generated .docx files of the same root document. The others I tried tended to produce very large swathes of changes that were marked as different even though painstaking visual comparison showed them to be identical. So I suspect one issue with the Writer file compare algorithm is that it may be comparing the underlying data structures, not the visible data (detectable by a user) - by which I mean, for any run of text, the paragraph, character, page styles, and the literal characters. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

In 6.1 if (m_pPosBox->IsEnabled()) m_pPosBox->SelectEntryPos(pOpt->GetPos()); else m_pPosBox->SelectEntryPos(0); select position 0 if its disabled, leave it as the default if it is enabled. Things start off disabled, so its 0 starting off and the option pos is ignored, but on changing entries the settings are saved, so if you cursor away from the first entry, then the entry 0 get saved as the default for the next visit. So on initial visit tables is disabled and shows "above", enable it and it shows "below". Cancel to not save changes and revisit tables is disabled, click on frame, click on table again, it shows "above", enable it and it sticks as "above". [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125459] New: Document won't load, memory grows continually
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125459 Bug ID: 125459 Summary: Document won't load, memory grows continually Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.3.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: luke.kend...@gmail.com Created attachment 151625 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=151625=edit One of the documents that won't load I tried to open an old version of my manuscript edited last with Writer 6.0 or so (containing many comments), with 6.2.3.2. Doing so locks up any LO documents already open, and the new document doesn't load. By which I mean, the "Loading progress bar is displayed, comnpletes, runs again, vanishes, and the document window stays greyed out. The main document canvas is never drawn in with any document content, and the normal toolbars are not even drawn. (I killed the process after letting it run for 3h30m.) Memory use grows steadily. Looking at "top", the size slowly grew to the 2GB mark for Writer, then 3GB, then 4GB, and so on. E.g. after about 20 mins trying to load: PID USER PR NIVIRTRESSHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 3679 luke 20 0 4635724 3.403g 43624 R 99.0 22.2 13:23.75 soffice.bin A few minutes later: PID USER PR NIVIRTRESSHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 3679 luke 20 0 4659036 3.426g 43624 R 99.7 22.3 14:38.69 soffice.bin I was able to open the file correctly with Writer 6.0.5.2. So I made an obfuscated version of the file and saved that. If examined with gdb, it seems to be mostly calling malloc. Two sizes I saw were 296 bytes and 88 bytes. (Because of the 100% CPU load bug in glib2 timer code, I run soffice after setting SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen.) [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124860] FileOpen: Formula result has different alignment than regular values
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124860 Heiko Tietze changed: What|Removed |Added CC||michael.st...@cib.de, ||rb.hensc...@t-online.de --- Comment #36 from Heiko Tietze --- To summarize, we have these issues: 1. When opening existing documents the table content is realigned depending on Tools > Options > Writer > Table (see c11) (this issue is relevant whether we default to on or off since the user may change it manually but wouldn't expect that just opening a document applies it) 2. The layout of newly inserted tables may differ if the option was changed meanwhile (again, this is independent from the default). 3. Aligning numbers to the bottom just for formulas is bad. I don't see any reason to have some values at top and other at middle or bottom depending on number, date/time, or text and I'm not aware of a norm. 4. The hierarchy of Number Recognition and underlying items is wrong resp. not respected in the code (as commented in c34, the disabled parent applies to the children) We should definitely solve #1. For #2 we could inherit the default option into a document setting (Format > Page) and store it (wouldn't do that). Or we remove the alignment option completely (#3). By doing this a single "[x] Number Format Recognition" checkbox could be enough (and solves #4). The easiest but not the best solution for the regression is to revert the patch, of course. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125450] Column shading not at all right
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125450 --- Comment #2 from signupem...@posteo.uk --- (In reply to Xisco Faulí from comment #1) > Do you mean the numbering column or Column A ? What is it wrong with it? I mean the numbering column, i.e. the column that contains the numbers 1, 2, 3 etc. However, the same problem besets the header row that contains the letters 'A', 'B' etc. The problem is as follows. The shading - the white bar or smudge - so lacks differentiation that, especially perhaps in the numbering column (as against the row of letters), the shading looks like a graphical defect. Actually, perhaps it just *is*, in its entirety, a defect. Why is it there? Should it look like that? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125457] New: Style and size page number field have to be changed via its text frame
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125457 Bug ID: 125457 Summary: Style and size page number field have to be changed via its text frame Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ho...@mogi.at Description: A newly inserted page number field can not be changed in style and size just by selecting/marking the field itself. One has to select the text frame containing the page number. This is not intuitive or self-explaining for new users. I am not entirely sure if this should be marked as but or as feature request. Please see also https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/138742/default-font-size-and-page-number-placement-impress/?answer=194861#post-id-194861 Steps to Reproduce: 1. insert a page number field 2. select the page number field 3. change its font or size in the properties tab Actual Results: properties like font and size are not changed for the page number field Expected Results: One expects to change the font-style and size of a page number field by marking it modifying its properties instead of selecting its text frame. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65587] Elements pane: Items not reachable without mouse
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65587 Jan-Marek Glogowski changed: What|Removed |Added Keywords||needsUXEval --- Comment #17 from Jan-Marek Glogowski --- FYI: this just implements the KeyInput handling. Strictly taken, the bug is fixed. What is still missing is the Accessibility integration, which is a mess in LO. Originally these elements were handled by a Toolbox, represented as various buttons. I generally plan to go the same way. But I'm not yet sure if I should abstract the Toolbox, so it's accessibility implementation will fit the new control, or write a completely new one accessibility integration. Then there is the additional scrollbar. The control itself is a mix between a list box (scrollable list of items) and a toolbox (list of buttons). It doesn't really matter that the visual representation is more of the grid, because the navigation is currently handled as a list of items, as this is the internal representation. An other question: should the accessibility always list all buttons, independent of the ScrollBar (which means it lists buttons currently not visible)? My guess is the various list themselves will never be long, but the ScrollBar is definitely needed. And while at it: should the navigation work as a cycle, AKA the next item after the last item will be the first item again? The current implementation generally works, but I consider it a working PoC and would like to get some comments. BTW: navigation implementation as a real grid is currently out of scope! If you want that, please file an additional bug report and discuss it there. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
