[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125632] New: Enhancement: Enable resizing of comment column

2019-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125632

Bug ID: 125632
   Summary: Enhancement: Enable resizing of comment column
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: notebook22...@gmail.com

Description:
Currently it's not possible to resize the column containing the comments.
Neither in Normal View, nor in Web view.
At least for the web view this feature will make sense. Especially when you're
dealing with very long comments.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a comment in a document
2. Try to resize the width of the comment column.

Actual Results:
3. Actual: Does not work. It can only be disabled.

Expected Results:
3. Expected: Resizing is possible.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
There is already a small rectangular thing next to the comment column, that
looks like it's exactly for that purpose.

Tested on: clean install

Dear c.bessiere,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.

Drag formulas it's copy formulas not like fill series, in your example it works
properly.
Maybe not what you like, but it's not a bug.

A formula like
I6: =AVERAGE(OFFSET($B$1;((ROW()-5)*20)-15;;20))
can be dragged

So then activate the 'ccmp' OpenType feature for your font?

Select the text of the Paragraph. Then from standard menu Format -> Character.
Opentype features correctly implemented will be presented via the "Features"
tab.

Can also reach it via the Context menu, or from the Standard toolbar's Font
droplist--appending ":ccmp" to your font name.

Some questions/aspects:

1) Is this always reproducible for you, and also e.g. if you save the file in
/tmp/ (given that bug 125498 doesn't appear then)?

2) Please paste version info from "Help" -> "About LibreOffice" (to be sure
whether this is plain qt5 or kde5 VCL plugin).

3) Can you give a specific file name for which this happens, preferably with a
full path underneath /tmp/ ?

4) Is it correct that this happens for you when you do the following:
* start Writer
* select "File" -> "Save" (or press Ctrl+S)
* in file dialog, select .odt
* click save

Just to explicitly have that information mentioned here as well: I guess locale
is as mentioned in bug 125498 comment 17.

Please set bug status back to UNCONFIRMED once the requested information has
been provided.

Don't know what i did, but with LO back in standard mode the Insert/Special
Characters menus now looks 'normal.' However, it still scrolls through fonts
as well as the characters of a font if no font is selected in the pull down
menu.
And a surprise to me, the character I wanted showed up in Recent Characters.
Removed the entries in Search and Font fields. Behavior changed again. Can
select a single font to display. With cursor on matrix, mouse wheel doesn't
scroll--have to use the scroll bar to the right.
I hope some of this is useful. If not, sorry for the distraction. I'll look
for openSuse to offer LO 6.3.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125422

--- Comment #4 from Zeidra Senester  ---
No offense to you, V Stuart Foote (though you're offensing me), but I
designated that font, and it renders perfectly EVERYWHERE else, so don't put
the software's problems on my work.
As for the cedilla, it's a stylistic variation. It's a very basic feature in
OpenType, as it's the way contextual glyphs (as in arabic) renders. The path is
the same, the one you mentionned, but the glyph is different due to the ccmp
feature being activated.
As for the kerning, it only happens when BOTH diacritics are put together. My
font has no rule about interactions between lower and upper diacritics kerning
at all, and once again it only happens in LibreOffice.
Call that what you want. A bug, a lack of a basic feature… Fact is the problem
is there.

Dieter Praas I'd like to, but the problem is linked to a non-standard feature
of a proprietary font. I might check how it works with a partially embedded
font, TBH I never tried this except for PDF.

2019-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125630

Bug ID: 125630
   Summary: Insert/Special Character dialog display font in HUGE
size, can't read it
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: u...@flanagan-consulting.com

Description:
Insert/Special Character
Almost unusable because font display in huge size, overlapping and obscuring
characters. Display on right seems to show only the 1/4 of a selected
character.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.in word processing mode, either docx or odt format file
2. click on Insert
3.  click on Special Characters
Font display is only 3 lines of very large size. The window to the right shows
only the very top of a selected character (indicating to me that the display
falls off the bottom of my screen). There is no vertical scroll bar. Using the
mouse wheel while holding CTL scrolls the font, but doesn't affect its size,
same as without CTL held.

Actual Results:
Font display is only 3 lines of very large size. The window to the right shows
only the very top of a selected character (indicating to me that the display
falls off the bottom of my screen). There is no vertical scroll bar. Using the
mouse wheel while holding CTL scrolls the font, but doesn't affect its size,
same as without CTL held. Characters in a row overlap horizontally, making some
rows illegible. Rows are separated vertically, which fits with the feeling the
display is stretched vertically.
In safe mode of LO, character matrix displays as expected, but with cursor in
character matrix, the mouse wheel scrolls through fonts, not just the
characters in a font--not expected.

Expected Results:
Fonts display with legible characters of modest size so there are 10-15 rows
visible at once. All of a selected character is visible in the right side
window.
Mouse wheel scrolls through one font at a time when cursor is in font matrix.
Pull down menu selects font to view.

Reproducible: Always

--- Comment #3 from V Stuart Foote  ---
Hmm, but then these are no Unicode defined diacritic ligatures are there?

Position of the combining glyph is defined by the font--but in general a
combining cedilla (0x0327 - COMBINING CEDILLA) should always be below--while a
combining circumflex (0x0302 - COMBINING CIRCUMFLEX ACCENT ) should be above
the target glyph positioned as designed for the grapheme in the font. IMHO
LibreOffice handles this exactly correct.

Instead believe you need to select Unicode point for the correct combining
glyph for the layout you need--perhaps COMBINING LATIN SMALL LETTER CEDILLA
(0x1dd7)

Try this: U+0065U+0302U+1DD7 with +X toggle
or the other stacking order U+0065U+1DD7U+0302

Alternate forms/positioning could be supported (Graphite or OpenFont type) but
the font must support it--and the feature code set for the Character property.

Visual appeal of simple stacking of combining digraph will depend on font.

Likewise the "kerning" you note, is a font issue--try a correctly designed font
like Noto Sans or Noto Serif for correct positioning of the combining
diacritics.

IMHO => NAB

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125627] New: Typed reference parameter is treated as value parameter if ANY type conversion is needed.

2019-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125627

Bug ID: 125627
   Summary: Typed reference parameter is treated as value
parameter if ANY type conversion is needed.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.0 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@psilosoph.de

This was reported years ago for OOo/AOO under a different accent.
See https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=120069

It may just be another bug demonstrating that a consistent implementation of
automatic type conversion is next to impossible.

Examples:

Sub TestVariant()
x = 77 REM Creates x as a Variant of current type Integer
in_outI(x)
REM Implicitly "converts" Variant/Integer to Integer creating a new variable.
Print x
REM should print 13, prints 77
in_outV(x) REM No implicit conversion
Print x
REM should print 13, prints 13
End Sub

Sub TestByte()
Dim x As Byte
x = 77
in_outI(x)
REM Implicitly converts Byte to Integer creating a new variable.
REM Should throw a type mismatch.
REM Otherwise automatic conversion of the result on return needed.
REM VERY problematic.
Print x
REM should print 13, prints 77
in_outV(x)
REM Implicitly converts Byte to Integer creating a new variable.
Print x
REM should print 13, prints 13
End Sub

Sub TestInteger()
Dim x As Integer
x = 77
in_outI(x) REM No implicit conversion.
Print x
REM should print 13, prints 13
End Sub

Sub in_outI(x As Integer)
x = 13
End Sub

Sub in_outV(x)
x=13
End Sub

Sub TestVS()
x = "test"
in_outS(x)
REM Implicitly "converts" Variant/String to String creating a new variable.
Print x
in_outSV(x)
REM No conversion.
Print x
End Sub

Sub in_outS(x As String)
x = "in_out"
End Sub

Sub in_outSV(x As Variant)
x = "in_out"
End Sub

What should be expected and what actually happens is placed in the example as
comments.

OTOH I could never reproduce this. Would be nice if one of our Russian

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125626] New: fill down command calculates illogical series

2019-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125626

Bug ID: 125626
   Summary: fill down command calculates illogical series
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vieira...@yahoo.com

Description:
When using the fill down cross to fill empty cells with a simple series, calc
fills with an illogical series:

(screen-cap below)

Steps to Reproduce:
manually entered: J5 "=AVERAGE(B6:B25)"
manually entered: J6 "=AVERAGE(B26:B45)"

Actual Results:
highlight J5:J6 and fill down: J7 "=AVERAGE(B8:B27)"
highlight only J6 and fill down: J7 "=AVERAGE(B27:B46)"

Expected Results:
desired result would be J7 "=AVERAGE(B46:B65")

etc, etc, next logical series.

This can be really tedious when doing dozens (or hundreds) of calcs.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60232] Possibility to update bibliography references from bibliography database

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60232

--- Comment #12 from Ben  ---
I agree with Mieszko's observation that it would be better to remove
Bibliography functionality entirely from LibreOffice Writer. I have spent
-many- days on both the database and the embedded version and concluded that
the first one has many bugs, the second one has usability issues. These issues
have existed for many years.

Heiko's observation is also appropriate. I have started to use Zotero, which is
very advanced compared to the current LibreOffice Bibliography features and
will be hard to catch up on.

If the functionality is removed, then this could be reflected in the online
help and documentation by recommending Zotero (I have not tried Medeley)?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125625] New: Cannot update appimage LibreOffice

2019-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125625

Bug ID: 125625
   Summary: Cannot update appimage LibreOffice
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: asf...@hotmail.com

Description:
I have "installed" LibreOffice 6.2.2 on my linux based system using the
AppImage app. I have purposefully not fully integrated LibreOffice into my
installed system.

When I attempt to update LibreOffice using AppImageUpdate, a message appears
informing that the developer has not provided the ability to perform a "delta"
update (e.g., just install the updated files). It also requests that I contact
the developer to ask them to provide such ability.

Does the appimage version of LibreOffice have that ability?
If not, can you modify the app to permit the update?
If the answer to the above is no, how can I retain any modifications I made
to the installed version upon downloading the updated version (default styles,
etc.)

Thank you.

Actual Results:
Does not download available update. Says that update ability is not included
with app.

Expected Results:
Should enable a delta update

Reproducible: Always

@Julien perf is not much use at looking inside java code. All we can tell is
that the CPU time is inside the GrammarChecking java code. (i.e. inside
LanguageTool)

Tools like VisualVM or the Netbeans Profiler can look inside Java code, and is
probably what is necessary here.

But at this point, it is no longer a bug in LibreOffice, so you are perhaps
better off logging this upstream at

2019-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125624

Bug ID: 125624
   Summary: CRASH working with file with lots of hints
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: xiscofa...@libreoffice.org

This issue can be reproduced after
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/plugins/gitiles/core/+/9ff648c691f003a11eba9a22ac37032d72b4b642%5E%21
for bug 125372. The importing time has been drastically reduced by Noel Grandin
in LibreOffice 6.3 which has uncovered another issue.

Step to reproduce:
1. Open attachment 151516 from bug 125372

-> It crashes. See
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125372#c14

On linux, I get this error in console

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125623] New: EDITING: drop down list causes Calc to freeze

2019-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125623

Bug ID: 125623
   Summary: EDITING: drop down list causes Calc to freeze
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jranderson1...@yahoo.com

Created attachment 151832
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=151832=edit
Spreadsheet used that caused the problem. Problematic sheet named Output

When editing the attached spreadsheet, LibreOffice Calc will sometimes lock up.
The nature of the lockup is that the entire window manager becomes unresponsive
to mouse clicks (though alt+tab into a terminal still works) until the
soffice.bin process is killed.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open spreadsheet.
2. Navigate to 'Output' sheet
3. Edit the data validation for one of the drop downs (right-click on the cell
-> Data validation, and edit the source line) -or- select a value from one of
the drop downs.
  3a. Drop downs can be found in cells B3, C3, F14-21.

Sometimes the lockup immediately occurred, and other times it happened only
after I had made a few edits.

Testing against Gnumeric shows the lockup does not occur there, but Gnumeric
has other limitations that keeps it from being a true workaround (mostly with
respect to it not correctly handling the formulas).

OS: Ubuntu 18.04

Calc file with macro to sent email + Readme + Screenshots

Unzip Monthly_Invoice.zip

Go through readme & accordingly use dummyinvoiceformat.ods file

Problem with Libreoffice (Linux mint) -

1) When Tools--> Options--> Internet--> E-mail--> is set as
/usr/bin/thunderbird
Now try to send email through libreoffice ---> NOTHING happens

2) When Tools--> Options--> Internet--> E-mail--> is set as [BLANK]
AND Thunderbird is set as Preferred Application in LINUX MINT
Now try to send email through libreoffice ---> Some weird thing will happen ,
Email Body will go inside email address boxes ( ZIP has screenshot - SHOULD NOT
HAPPEN.png )

3) When Tools--> Options--> Internet--> E-mail--> is set as [BLANK]
AND Geary is set as Preferred Application in LINUX MINT
Now try to send email through libreoffice ---> Works PERFECTLY ( ZIP has
screenshot - SHOULD HAPPEN.png )

 I can bet Thunderbird was also working Perfect untill 6.0 under the same
setting.
I tried the same with same version of Thunderbird but old version of
Libreoffice (6.0.5) then it worked perfectly , but with all LO 6.1 + versions
it is not working anymore (but geary is working somehow)

And Windows+Thunderbird do not work even in 6.0.5 , there we have to use
windows Live mail as client.

There is something terribly wrong in email functionality since LO 6.1. I have
tested till LO 6.2.4.2 ... and all have same problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125622] New: Add quotes parser to file Libreoffice Writer hyperlink dialog field

2019-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125622

Bug ID: 125622
   Summary: Add quotes parser to file Libreoffice Writer hyperlink
dialog field
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: cunh...@hotmail.com

Description:
Thank you for the excellent work you´ve been doing!

If I press SHIFT + right mouse click on windows explorer, I can use an option
called "copy as path" to any file I want.

The problem is that this copy comes with quotes. Example:
"C:\Users\yourname\OneDrive\TRANSCRIPTIONS\IMPORTANT DOCUMENT.odt"

It would be great LibreOffice could check if the hyperlink is quoted, and then,
remove this quotes (hyperlinks are never quoted).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On windows explorer: SHIFT + right click on any file .
2. On windows explorer: click on "copy as path"
3. On Libreoffice Writer: press shift + K
4. On Libreoffice Writer: On hyperlink dialog, CTRL + V on URL

Actual Results:
Hyperlink wont work because it tries to use the quotes in the URL.

Expected Results:
I would expect it to understand that quotes on first and last character should
be ignored.

Reproducible: Always

--- Comment #9 from Bartosz  ---
The source code responsible for exporting "numFmt":

is available at sc/source/filter/excel/xestyle.cxx:

rStyleSheet->singleElement( XML_numFmt,
XML_numFmtId,   OString::number( mnXclNumFmt ).getStr(),
XML_formatCode, OUStringToOString(maNumFmtString,
RTL_TEXTENCODING_UTF8).getStr(),
FSEND );

And the set of "maNumFmtString" string is in:
pNumFormat.reset(new XclExpNumFmt( nScNumFmt, nXclNumFmt,
GetNumberFormatCode( *this, nScNumFmt, xFormatter.get(), mpKeywordTable.get()
)));

So the interesting method for check is:
SvNumberFormatter::GetFormatStringForExcel
in svl/source/numbers/zforlist.cxx file.
