Dear QA Team members,

sorry for the late reply.
This issue was also discussed in a german forum.
They asked me to delete my user profile.
After that I couldn't repeat the error any more.

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards,
Willy

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125373] Paragraph style editing and application is not applied to the paragraph properly.

2019-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125373

Yes, I know that. But it does not always happen that way. Sometimes it affects
the paragraph, and sometimes it does not have any affect at all.
Same for modifying the style, SOMETIMES it changes the style, and applies the
changes to all the paragraphs that employ that style, and sometimes it does
not.
And furthermore, sometimes making a change to a style on which another style is
based causes a change in the dependent style, and sometimes it does not.
That is the problem. IT IS INCONSISTENT!
And there really is no clear documentation that says what the various ways of
applying or setting styles are, or what the ramifications of doing something
are. Perhaps changing a style is not supposed to affect other styles that are
dependent on it - I cannot find any documentation that clearly states whether
such dependencies are one-time only (like when a dependent style is created) or
whether changing the style on which another style is dependent (either by
actually change the base style itself or by selecting a totally different style
on which to base a style) is supposed to affect the dependent style.
This all needs clarified and fixed to work consistently.

Just exclude symbols to word count is enough? Or we need extra count

Now I'm digging this issue, then I would like to confirm the real problem we

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126052] New: Can't drag the color picker window out of my way

2019-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126052

Bug ID: 126052
Summary: Can't drag the color picker window out of my way
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.7.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bugrepor...@gmail.com

>From the highlight color button on the toolbar, you Left click on custom color.
That opens a window called "Pick a color". If you click on the top bar of the
window, it won't let you drag the window to the side so you can see what colors
you highlighted in your document.

Someone on Ubuntu suggested this was because the color picker window is modal
and asked me if I would file an upstream bug report to TDF (The Document
Foundation) asking if it was modal by design or not and if yes, asking is it
necessary that it stays modal? Would TDF consider changing it to not be modal?

(***PS I was able to shut off the modal property by installing GNOME Tweaks
from a terminal window

sudo apt update
sudo apt gnome-tweak-tool

then shutting the terminal window

then opening a new terminal window and typing
gnome-tweaks
(to run the program)

>From inside Tweaks:
click on Windows
turn the Attach Modal Dialogs button to "off" ***)

Dear Tor Lillqvist,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

2019-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Dear Ingo Ruhnke,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126051] New: FORMATTING: Negative margins when boundary values are used between page and header/footer margins.

2019-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126051

Bug ID: 126051
Summary: FORMATTING: Negative margins when boundary values are
used between page and header/footer margins.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: qa.software.tester.anielsen+...@gmail.com

Description:
Version: 6.2.4.2 (x64)
Build ID: 2412653d852ce75f65fbfa83fb7e7b669a126d64
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: CL

Setting the page margins to outside of the print range, and maximizing the
header/footer margins, then switching between the tabs sets the fields to
negative values. Applying the changes pushes the content off the page.

Using the replication steps, this issue can be repeated with the Footer tab
(instead of Header), and you can use the right margin instead of the left as
well (although the content will be pushed off to the other side of the page).

I’d consider this an edge case as it would be very unlikely that anyone with
good intentions would go anywhere near those margin values.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open new LibreOffice document
2. Click on Format > Page … > Page tab
3. Set the Left Margin value to 0
4. Click on the Header tab
5. When prompted about margin being out of print range, click yes.
6. Toggle Header on.
7. Set the Left Margin to (anything beyond the current margin limit)
8. Click on the Page tab.
9. See the value for Left Margin is now negative.
10. Click on Header tab again.
11. See Left Margin now negative, and preview shows content area far off the
page.
12. Click OK (to accept edits and close the window).
13. Try to type things in header or main content area. No text appears, but
character count increases.

Actual Results:
Margins automatically got set to negative values. Text does not appear
anywhere, but word count increases as you type.

Expected Results:
Margins should never be negative and cause text to appear outside of view.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I will attach a short video that goes through the steps and gives a visual
overview of the issue.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117967] On Linux LibreOffice doesn't protect users from accidental content overwrite when a file was updated outside of LibreOffice and the warning dialog was cancelled out of

2019-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117967

I re-tested per your suggestion.
I installed 6.2.4. Unfortunately, this behaviour was not changed. There are
steps that I performed.
1. Create a text document. (Or any other LO file)
2. Create in another directory a soft link to this file.
3. In any file manager click the original file and the link. LO will open the
file and the link in two separate windows.
4. Make a change in one window and save it.
5. Make a change in another window and try to save. You will receive the
pop-up warning with two options: save anyway or cancel. Press Cancel and then
save again. The content of the file will be overwritten.

To avoid this problem, we need to check the file timestamp before each save,
and not just the first time we try to save.
In addition, most editors check the timestamp every time the window becomes
active. Then users will be informed before they start changing the content.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107385] Autofilter sorting breaks rows data alignment without warning

2019-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107385

I do not see this behavior as a bug. It is up to the user to select all the
columns that are linked. In case you can have several independent blocks of
data sharing the same rows, it's clear that Calc can't know what columns are
linked to the column in which the sort is performed.

Best regards. JBF

2019-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104717

I just realized that there is currently an other uncommon behavior. Calc clears
the PRIMARY when you remove a selection. So you select some cells in Calc, and
the PRIMARY gets updated, then remove that selection by clicking somewhere else
or using the arrow keys and Calc clears the PRIMARY. Normally an app / your
text editor wouldn't clear the PRIMARY, just replace it when something else is
selected. You can copy something empty to the CLIPBOARD but not the PRIMARY, as
you can't select nothing, just unselect.

Just to make it clear. After the first paste the selection is set correct, so
even if the clipboard manager destroys the clipboard from the selection, you
could now use the middle mouse button to "paste" cells. Not very obvious.

(In reply to Kovács Viktor from comment #21)
> Jan-Marek Glogowski's patch is working.
> Is it possible backport to earlier version of LibreOffice than 6.0.0.1?

This is just a fix for the new qt5 / kde5 code added in 6.2. The code depends
on many other fixes, so it won't even be fixed in 6.2.

If it's broken in 6.0 you have a different bug, but probably that 6.0.0.1 is a
typo, as you claim it just happens in 6.2 as earliest affected, which makes
sense. 6.0 is EOL, so no fix there anyway.

(In reply to Kovács Viktor from comment #20)
> Works on: 6.4.0.0alpha, but not works on Version: 6.3.0.0.beta1
> Build ID: a187af327633f5f00363be5131bd21a13e0f1a7b

AFAIK the patch was merged after the 6.3 beta (commit date was 2019-06-06).
Can't check for sure, as git claims it doesn't know the build id, which is
strange.

And since there are no 6.3 daily builds you can't check either.

I reset this bug to FIXED, as you say it works with 6.4. And I reset the
summary. No version information should go there.

Please open a new report when 6.3 is out and it's still broken there.

This really is an important missing feature. If you work with large data sets,
especially in ML/DL, 1024 is a serious limitation. Seeing as the first request
was filed in 2012, I find it surprising that a fix is still pending. Do
consider a change of file format if necessary for backward compatibility but
please include this feature in 9.3.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I created a brand new
odb file (hsqlembedded).
Then by using wizard, I created the table tasks with all entries by default.
Then I created a report containing all the entries
=> all entries appeared.

What type of database do you use?
Do you reproduce this on a brand new file?
Can you provide an example file?

Maybe the option Menu/Tools/Options/Load_Save/Html compatibility help tho solve
the issue.

By the way can you give a link for test the copy.
