Regina is right, of course. I should have asked about this: Maurizio, have you
created this box layout consciously? In my comment 5, I was resizing the text
boxes that have text, not the rectangles with white background. Actually, I did
test resizing the white rectangles separately, but there was no problem with
them either.

Dear Ralf,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

The row object is a cell range. It implements relevant services (e.g.,
com.sun.star.sheet.SheetCellRange, com.sun.star.table.CellRange), and
interfaces (com.sun.star.table.XCellRange, com.sun.star.sheet.XCellRangeData,
com.sun.star.sheet.XCellRangeFormula). The mentioned getCellByPosition (a
method of XCellRange interface) allows you to get com.sun.star.table.XCell. You
need to understand that indexing in a cell range object is relative to the
range bounds; so for a given row (= a rectangular range of 1 row and many
columns), the possible indices passed to aRow.getCellByPosition(colIx, rowIx)
are 0..1048575 for colIx, and 0 for rowIx (regardless which row is represented
by this aRow object).

Closing NOTABUG (WORKSFORME is only for real defects that were fixed by an
unknown commit).

I asked on IRC: turns out, a row (which is basically a range) has a function
getCellByPosition(), whose addressing is relative to the range. E.g. if your
range starts at 1,1 global position, then your_range.getCellByPosition(0,0)
would refer to 1,1 cell in global coordinates.

I asked on IRC: turns out, a range has a function getCellByPosition(), whose
addressing is relative to the range. E.g. if your range starts at 1,1 global
position, then your_range.getCellByPosition(0,0) would refer to 1,1 cell in
global coordinates.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118370] place text when importing from PDF in one text box instead many text boxes with one string

2019-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118370

Created attachment 152799

Some text documents

Hi Justin, here are some test documents. Please do not try to address all such
edge cases. They will not appear in PDF import. But you should be aware, that
they exist. Instead clearly describe the purpose of your tool in the release
notes.

I cannot test your new version of the patch before Friday. Perhaps someone else
has time to test it earlier. So please be patient.

"Text along path" is a feature for paths and curves, but works too on text
boxes, circles and rectangles. It is named "Fontwork". But that term conflicts
with the "Fontwork" from the "Fontwork Gallery". Therefore I prefer to say
"Text along path". With this term you will find it in other applications like
Corel Draw. You need a shape with text (not a custom shape!) and then click on
one of the right four icons in the first line of the Fontwork-dialog.
The uno-command for opening and closing the dialog for "Text along path" is
.uno:FontWork. You need to customize the UI to get it. It has the name
"Fontwork" and is in category "Format".

The shapes from the "Fontwork Gallery" are those, which are named "WordArt" in
Microsoft Office and are a special mode of custom shapes. Inside the code you
need to be careful, what feature is meant, if a variable or method contains
"fontwork" in its name.

A similar confusion is about "callout". There exists a group of custom shapes,
which are named "Callouts". But on the other hand there exists the icon
"Callouts" in the Text toolbox. You need to customize your UI to get this
toolbox. The command for the toolbox is in category Drawing.

change on the second page the font color of the header and you get the same
issue in standard toolbar layout.

I think it's more of an general grayscale issue.

Bug ID: 126417
Summary: No way to get a cell from CellRange
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: All

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126415] Seems to be missing API to get a cell from a row

2019-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126415

UPD: btw, turns out getCellByPosition() has not use either, because
TableRow.Position property is incompatible with this function, and there
doesn't seem to be a way to derive its index.

Although I managed to find such call:

row.getCellRangeByName(row.AbsoluteName)

This returns a range, but… the range doesn't provide any means to get a cell
either.

with treeview it's possible to separate between character styles that are
software specific like Bullets, Rubies, Endnote Anchor and strong emphasis, ...

> I don't see any benefit from purging the Heading section.

I don't see the benefit to have this "special" heading styles, which are very
document specific in the main heading subsection.

I think one of the reason LibO has an Styles main menu section in the writer
menubar is that LibO "force" the user to use styles, but than the styles
sidebar should support ALL users, not only users how know where some specific
styles were used.

I don't see that there is an disadvantage to hide file specific styles into an
subgroup.

To me it doesn't make sense, and costed some hours of research until I blindly
listed methods in XComponent that's higher the stack, and found "Sheets" there.

connect to LO server running

A "TableRow" object doesn't seem to have any methods to access cells it stores.
There's "getCellByPosition()", however this method accepts a row index, and is
probably present in TableRow by mistake (should I report a bug on this?).

Feel free to close this report if I'm wrong, I just spent some hours trying to
understand how to loop over rows in a spreadsheet, and at this point I admit I
am lost.

# Steps to reproduce
1. Execute: soffice --calc
--accept="socket,host=localhost,port=2002;urp;StarOffice.ServiceManager"
2. Download the attachment (python script to connect to LO)
3. In directory with the script run `python`, and execute:
>>> exec(open("./connect-to-lo.py").read())
>>> row = model.CurrentController.ActiveSheet.Rows.getByIndex(0)
4. Now, try to get a cell from the row.

## Expected

There's a way to do it.

## Actual

Except the mentioned "getCellByPosition()" that is irrelevant to a row there
doesn't seem to be a way to do it.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122738

The text and the white background are two different objects in your example
document.
The white background rectangle is a text frame with the settings "Fit width to
text" and "Fit height to text". But is does not have any text content. You
should delete these background rectangles and set the background on those
shapes, which actually have text content.

that file when saving but I can work with the file if I start writer in safe

I see no advantage in the proposed change. On the contrary, many new names will
be introduced for the color white and some other colors will also have double
names. That is confusing. In addition, the new palette takes up more space and
makes scrolling more likely.

One year later, happened again yesterday with the latest version available from
stretch-backports:

Version: 6.1.5.2
Build ID: 1:6.1.5-3~bpo9+1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.9; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

Per the previous comments, this seems to be a problem with the distro
packaging, but that is how most people in linux get LibreOffice from.

So I have reopened this because if something is going wrong in the packaging,
testing the latest non-distro-packaged master is not going to reproduce the bug
but most people in Linux are still going to be affected by the bug. If this is
not the right place to file this bug, can someone please point me to it?

Thanks and keep up this great work, LO is awesome

Consider the attached sample document created in Microsoft Office,
finally saved in Office 365.

When viewed in Office 365 there is a green blurry border around each
of the images on the slide.

In LibreOffice 6.2.5.2 as well as 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ those borders are
simply missing (though retained, i.e., when editing the document in
LibreOffice and then viewing in Office again, nothing seems lost).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126411] New: A font used in the creation of a presentation is not available in copies of LibreOffice running on other machines

2019-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126411

Bug ID: 126411
Summary: A font used in the creation of a presentation is not
available in copies of LibreOffice running on other
machines
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.7.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: broga...@yahoo.com

Description:
I have edited a presentation with over 100 slides in LibrOffice Impress. On
transferring this to two other laptops running LibreOffice I find that the font
used on the first machine is unavailable on the other two, and in consequence
the formatting of text is destroyed. In particular headings and text boxes now
overlap, and sometimes text overruns the edges of the page. I have experienced
similar problems saving a presentation in Microsoft Office Powerpoint format.
but as I do not use Powerpoint, on any of my machines I cannot reproduce this

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Presentation edited on Toshiba SatellitePro running Windows 10
2. copy of presentation saved onto memory stick, and copied from this on to
Acer laptop N17Q3 also running Windows 10; subsequently copied unmodified onto
CompaQ running Ubuntu 18.04.2
3. File opened using Latest version of LibreOffice on both machines

Actual Results:
In both cases the selected font seems to have been unavailable, and and the
only information is that it is "Automatic Font

Expected Results:
I had expected that the font would be available on all three computers, or that
I might be easily able to download it.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
The Toshiba SatellitePro was purchased new some three or four years ago, and
LibrOffice installed by me immediately. The Acer was purchased second-hand
three or four months ago, and LibreOffice installed by me on purchase. The
CompaQ laptop was bought second-hand recently and modified to run Ubuntu from a
disk that was cloned from the hard drive of a laptop supplied new to me ten or
more years ago with Ubuntu and LibreOffice installed.

Hey there raal,

Sorry, I cannot test the development version unless there is a simple way to
install it in a sandboxed environment only to test this bug and then remove it,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126409] New: LibreOffice does not launch normally on macOS 10.15 Catalina beta

2019-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126409

Bug ID: 126409
Summary: LibreOffice does not launch normally on macOS 10.15
Catalina beta
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.5.1 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: peterkidw...@gmail.com

macOS 10.15 "Catalina", now in Public Beta, requires apps to not only have a
developer certificate signature, but to have that signature "notarized" by
Apple. See https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=06032019i and
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/security/notarizing_your_app_before_distribution
for more details.

While users may run LibreOffice on 10.15 by right-clicking the app icon and
choosing "Open" (the classic way to bypass Gatekeeper in macOS), this is not
immediately obvious, and the ominous alert Apple gives ("LibreOffice can’t be
opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.") may scare some
users off.

While it is true that this is a bug for a beta OS, macOS 10.15 is expected to
arrive in "Fall 2019", which isn't too far away.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126408] New: Base: HSQL to Firebird migration corrupts data

2019-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126408

Bug ID: 126408
Summary: Base: HSQL to Firebird migration corrupts data
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha1+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: l...@rn.dk

Description:
Loading a test database in LO 6.3.0.1, I am asked:
"The document contains embedded HSQL data, which is deprecated. Would you like
to migrate to Firebird now?"
However, answering "Yes" leaves me with corrupted data.

Test case: attachment 135786 (originally created for bug 112023). This small
sample base contains these data:

MyTimestampMyDouble
01-01-2015 00:00:011.2345
01-01-2015 00:00:153.1415

which in standard formatting are shown like

MyTimestampMyDouble
01-01-15 00:00 1.23
01-01-15 00:00 3.14

Opening the sample database in LO 6.2.5.2, or answering "Later" to migration,
this is how the data appear.

However, answering "Yes" to migration, the time data are shifted one hour, and
the decimal data are completely corrupted:

MyTimestampMyDouble
31-12-14 23:00 0
31-12-14 23:00 1.10E+227

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the sample database in LO 6.3.0.1 (or earlier 6.3.0.x)
2. Click on "Tables", answer "Later" to migration
3. Open Table1 - data are correct (as described above)
4. Close database
5. Re-open sample database, click on "Tables" and answer "Yes" to migration
6. Open Table 1 and notice corrupted data

Actual Results:
After migration, timestamps are shifted by 1 hour and numeric data are
corrupted.

Expected Results:
After migration, all data should be as originally.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The link
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/HowTo/MigrateFromHSQLDB
confirms that migration is buggy, including the bug that shifts timestamps by 1
or 2 hours. If this is known to be buggy, it seems to early to deprecate the
HSQL. If buggy migration is kept, then a lot of Base users are likely going to
lose data and lose confidence in Base.

Migration problem found with version 6.3.0.1:

Version: 6.3.0.1 (x64)
Build ID: 41ac97386aba908b6db860cfb4cfe2da871886ae
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; VCL: win;
Locale: da-DK (da_DK); UI-Language: en-GB
Calc: C

Tested in 6.3.0.0.Alpha1 with similar results.
Current "fresh" version 6.2.5.2 does not suggest migration and accordingly
works fine.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118370] place text when importing from PDF in one text box instead many text boxes with one string

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118370

I updated my proposal to patch set 3.

(In reply to Regina Henschel from comment #14)
Thanks for giving your opinion that this should NOT be opened up to general
shapes, but should be strictly for textboxes. I've limited it to OBJ_TEXT
items.

> Grouped textboxes: enter group, consolidate, and everything vanishes.
Kinda fixed with another sledgehammer approach to just ungrouping everything. I
have no idea what is going on behind the scenes here. I suspect that either
objects are being freed, or SdrOutliner is being reset.

> If the layer is locked, the new text box is inserted in this layer anyway.
I changed the code so that the new text box is inserted into the current layer.
I wasn't able to discover the locked status of the layer though, since the only
lock function [IsLockedODF()] reports on something different.

> "Consolidate Text" works on Callouts and presentation objects too.
I can't reproduce. In my testing, callouts are !IsTextFrame(), so they
shouldn't have been included. However, since the code is now modified to only
include OBJ_TEXT, perhaps it works as you expect now.

> Numbered list in one text box followed by numbered list in the next text
> box is turned into a bullet list in my tests.
I can't reproduce.

> * Text boxes in "text along path"-mode are treated too.
I couldn't figure out how to create these.
It sounds like you may have developed a fairly comprehensive test document.
Perhaps you could attach it to this report. That would be helpful.

> If only one text box is marked together with another shape, then the
> text box is replaced by a new one, losing name, description and style.
Now that only OBJ_TEXT are supported, this was easily fixed.

> * If the user marks a shape in addition, the size and position for the new
> text box is taken from the entire marked area.
GetMarkedObjRect was returning a cached size, so it needed to be invalidated
and re-calculated.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125753] No indication that secondary X axis just duplicates primary X axis

2019-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125753

Update: It is possible to change the scale in a secondary X -axis. However,
the version I was using (6.2.0.2) has some bugs in dealing with a secondary X
axis. That is, it is only possible to change the scale to values from 0 to 100.
I thought I had checked this in other versions but it looks like I did not.

When reporting a bug, it is important to specify which versions are affected. I
don't know why I did not do that or test this in other versions. I have now
checked versions 6.1.6.3, 6.2.4.2, and 6.3. In all of those versions, it is
possible to change the values to negative numbers and to numbers greater than
100.

Thus, since it is possible to change the scale, the secondary X-axis is more
useful than I thought. I will attempt to clarify what it does in the
documentation.

I now think that this bug report does not need to be acted upon.

I don't know what the process is for indicating that a bug report can be
disregarded and hope that someone else can do that. Apologies to the busy
developers for having to spend time with this.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104479] Export as PDF of ODT with JPGs produces much larger PDFs

2019-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104479

Trying to create a sample with the faulty behaviour, I wanted to blur people's
faces on the picture. But then I noticed that the pdf export had a correct
size. After many attempts, I tried to delete the original picture from the
original odt file, save the odt file, reinsert the same picture, and do export
as pdf with no loss again. And now it has a correct size as well. This lets me
very confuse, as I don't know what is sometimes happening, so that my pdf
export would be big. But it seems that in these cases, one picture imported is
responsible, and delete/save/reimport save the problem.

I will add that before inserting the pictures, they all are opened in GIMP
2.10.12 to be cropped, resized, compressed, but that only some of them would
provoke the bug.
