[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126491] =find() returns #NAME?
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126491 CTAC changed: What|Removed |Added OS|All |Mac OS X (All) Hardware|All |x86-64 (AMD64) --- Comment #1 from CTAC --- I'm using MacOS Mojave 10.14.5 (18F132) and LibreOffice from cask (brew install libreoffice). Today I've realised that CALC's spreadsheet substring search function find() does not work, always returns '#NAME?' Most updated stable version 6.2.5.2 has same bug too. Steps to reproduce: 1. Run Libreoffice calc 2. create new spreadsheet 3. type in in any cell: =find('c';'abcdef';2) 4. see #NAME? as result 5. result should be numeric: 3 (or 1, doesn't matter) 6. suppose, that there is error in parameter's order and type =find('abcdef';'c';2) 7. get #NAME? again Preferences -> Libreoffice calc -> Formula -> 'Use English function names' does not affect this result -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126490] New: FORMATTING: Row height not reduced for small fonts
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126490 Bug ID: 126490 Summary: FORMATTING: Row height not reduced for small fonts Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.0.3 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: dcoll...@superdan.net Description: Row heights are automatically set to large values if the font size is set to a large number. However, smaller-than-normal font sizes do not reduce the row height below the starting value. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make a new Calc file. 2. Select all the cells. 3. Observe start font size 10 (row height 0.18"). 4. Set font size to 14 (observe row height 0.24"). 4. Set font size to 6 (observe row height 0.18"). Actual Results: Font size 10 and any smaller font size all generate the same row height (0.18"). Expected Results: Smaller font sizes (e.g., below 10) should generate correspondingly smaller row heights (symmetric with large font sizes generating larger row heights). Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: The steps above use direct formatting of the cells; the same behavior is seen if we modify font size in the styles (including default style). Manually selecting Optimal Row Height also does not change the row height from these results. As a consequence, if the user wants to fit more rows on a page using a small font, then we must manually determine and set an appropriate row height for that purpose. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I click "Save" and Libreoffice says "General Input/Output Error", and freezes up. I have to kill libreoffice, and then when it starts up again, it goes through the recovery steps, acts as if the document was recovered successfully, but shows the last successfully saved version of a document. I have lost days worth of work from the error, and I think it should be elevated in status. The most frustration aspect of this error is that once the "General Input/Output Error" pops up, I do not have the option of saving the document to a different format or under a different filename. This is a major failure of the software, in my opinion. One other thing - when this happens, it's clear that Libreoffice had problems with autosaving the document, but did not warn of the failure. This too is a major failure. I am going to try working with the documents in native .odt format and seeing if that fixes this problem, but I am hoping that you will elevate the problem and also add better error handling to the autosave and save functionality of Libreoffice. My issue sounds identical to Stanislav's. Local hard drive. No need to delete profile to start saving again, just kill and restart. Changes lost since last successful save. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126488 Bug ID: 126488 Summary: How shall we react if we encounter a crash report? Well, it is a development version, so I am not too much surprised about bugs and crashes. I have a current productive version in parallel for work that really matters. On the screen appeared this window titled “crash report“: „Please check the report and if no bug report is connected to the crash report yet, open a new bug report at bugs.documentfoundation.org. Add detailed instructions on how to reproduce the crash and then show crash ID into the crash report field. Thank you for your help in improving LibreOfficeDev.“ There also a white bar in this message which looks like being meant for entering something there. • Where do I find the crash report? Is it in my filesystem? Where? • What exactly shall I check for? • Where can I enter the description of what I did before the crash happened? • Where do I find the crash ID? BTW: I guess, the message is generated from LibreOffice when it is re-started after the crash and some information from the dump is already available in this moment. This message should be made a bit more instructive about the interaction of the user. Would it not be possible to show the type of crash reason (e.g. lost pointer, violated assertion or whatever can be distinguished in such a tragic situation). To help the user, one might ask him about the number of files open simultaneously in LO, if there were some with multiple windows among them, give the user some multiple choice field what he did (leaving a freely editable one) and other things someone hunting for bugs will be interested in. Possibly interesting questions associated with it also might be • Could your currently open files be restored? • Did you notice there significant losses in the reconstructed file(s)? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

That are the usual problems with converting between decimal and binary numbers and with double arithmetic. For example compare (show 15 decimal places) =233.75/1.1-212 =233.75*(1/1.1)-212 or =100/3-33 =100*(1/3)-33 =1000/30-33 =10/0.3-33 [The purpose of the parts -212 and -33 is to make differences in the last bits visible.] -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126486] New: Enhancement of Calc / Chart Wizard / step 3 (Data Series)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126486 Bug ID: 126486 Summary: Enhancement of Calc / Chart Wizard / step 3 (Data Series) Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: bernd-u.landm...@arcor.de Description: I would like to have the following enhancement in Calc, Chart Wizard: I often use the chart type XY (Scatter). It would be consequent and time-saving if already in the Chart Wizard, step 3 (Data Series), one could choose that a secondary y-axis shall be used and assign the data series to the primary or to the secondary y-axis. Actual Results: Currently a secondary y-axis cannot be created before the chart is . Subsequently, a secondary y-axis has to be created by selecting one Data Series and choosing "Secondary Y-axis". Then the remaining Data Series whose data shall be plotted with the secondary y-axis have to be selected one at a time and "Secondary Y-axix" has to be set. Expected Results: If this setting could be applied in Chart Wizard, step 3 (Data Series), the procedure would be much more straightforward. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47896] Too many languages in Format/Language
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47896 Beat E. changed: What|Removed |Added Severity|enhancement |normal --- Comment #17 from Beat E. --- There is another use case that I encounter regularly that shows how annoying today's language drop-down list is. I often start with a Swiss German document that I have translate into Swiss French. As I am using French as main language on my computer the languages in the list are in French (as you can see in the steps below). Here are the step I have to do after I selected all the texts and went to the font dialog: 1. I click on the arrow on the language field and in the drop-down list "Allemand (Suisse)" (Swiss German) is highlighted 2. I type "F" for "Français" (French) in order to move down quickly in the drop-down list 3. I land on "Féroien" (Faroese) 4. I have to scroll down to "Français (Suisse)" 5. I can select "Français (Suisse)" (Swiss French) If my installed languages were on top I wouldn't need to go through step 2 to 4. I would see all my language at once on the list and would just have to select the new language. Today's list is not user-friendly at all. It annoys me every time. I don't understand why it hasn't been fixed a long time ago. For me this is a really annoying bug that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
