[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125531] Empty CMIS properties dialog

2019-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125531

This is not a desired behaviour, it makes user think something is broken.

Maybe it would be best to make the tab in the tab bar grayed out,
non-clickable?

Or, instead of the empty tab/scrollable window display a simple explanation:
To set CMIS properties here, the document must be first shared remotely on the
network.
(or something similar)

Probably this is a documentation issue as well, not just UX?

Hmm, and what other WYSIWYG rendered listboxes are there besides Font (Font
Name lb) and Style (Paragraph Style lb)?

Also, would note that the Sidebar Styles deck has its own 'Show previews' check
box that toggles WYSIWYG in the Content panels. It just does not link back to
the listbox previews--suspect that could be tweaked.

Ability to supress the Font preview as now, comment 6, should just be
supplemented with a similar check box toggle for Style previews. They could
then be applied independently as preferred, and of course held in profile.

I'd think doing that, and adding an additional checkbox to the Tools -> Options
-> View panel is all that is needed here. Not to make it a all or nothing with
a single checkbox toggle on a new sub panel.

Sorry, back to UX...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126771] New: SVG icons have visual glitches after upgrading to 6.3.0

2019-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126771

Bug ID: 126771
Summary: SVG icons have visual glitches after upgrading to
6.3.0
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.4 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stri...@gmail.com

Description:
No matter which SVG icon theme I choose, all of them have the same issue.

I tried to delete icon cache, and that helped for the duration of first
session. After I closed LibreOffice apps and reopened them again, icons became
corrupted again. I'm running 64 bit Windows 10 Pro 1903, Intel UHD Graphics
620, and DPI scaling is set to 150%.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice options, select any SVG icon theme.
2. Close LibreOffice apps, open any LibreOffice app again.

Actual Results:
Toolbar and menu icons contain visual gitches.

Expected Results:
Icons look normal.

Reproducible: Always

Actually, this is for LO 6.2.

I don't think it really is a regression. I think it exposed a bug, because the
results are illogical. It IS doing a ::finishParagraph on the footnote text -
somehow those properties are affecting the prior paragraph (only).

Yes, if we can finish up the GSOC 2019 work by Sumit, then hanging a Single
Mode off the NB Single is minimally functional. Customization of NB in general
needs to be implemented in the Customize dialog.

Bigger issue in doing this is accessibility (a11y) as for bug 107316 bcz the NB
remains unsupported by accelerators, shortcuts and assigning "accessible
events" to each button widget.

To autofill a column the user can double click on the square on the bottom
right corner of the cell selection. This should refill the cells down as far
the end if all cells are filled.
(related to Bug 108209 or Bug 126676)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. correct the contents of the top cell in a contiguous column
2. use double-click to re-fill the filled cells under the repaired cell
3.

No, it functions as implemented => NAB.

But not unreasonable to do as an RFE to the Find & Replace dialog. Implement a
feature to optionally use the values set for AutoCorrect of single and double
quote glyph.

Would need to be configurable. Ideally in GUI, from either the AutoCorrect
dialog, or in the Find & Replace dialog, alternatively as Expert Configuration
stanza.

To UX advise...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126764] REGEX() function with an integer as 'Occurence' returns the complete 'Text' if the respective match doesn't exist. It should return #N/A.

2019-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126764

There is no 3rd occurrence of the expression in text, hence nothing is
replaced. This essentially is similar to =REGEX("a";"b";"") and is standard
replacement behaviour in tools like sed and awk, if there is no match then
nothing is replaced. Specifically gawk's gensub() that knows the occurrence
parameter as well behaves the same:

  gawk -e '{print gensub(/b/,"",1)}'

Try with different input of "a" and "b".

If you need to check if there actually is a 3rd occurrence to be replaced then
do an explicit check:

  =IF(ISNA(REGEX("12-34-56";"[^-]*-";;3));NA();REGEX("12-34-56";"[^-]*-";"";3))

Unconditionally returning #N/A if there is no match in the replace case IMHO is
not an option, otherwise the usual logic of replacements with regular
expressions would be negated and all replacements would have to use IFNA().

What we maybe could do is add an optional parameter to the function whether
#N/A shall be returned in replace cases or not. That would have to be hidden in
the Function Wizard and input hints as we have UI translations freeze for 6.3,
but in general would be possible even for 6.3. Earlier releases reading such
additional parameter if present of course would fail then.

I don't think this is a regression. It changed in

though

We can either remove it or add a specific example for each ddbb.
@Alex, what do you prefer?

I just upgraded my libreoffice installation:
  Version: 6.2.5.2
  Build ID: libreoffice-6.2.5.2-snap1
Instead of the packages prepared by Ubuntu (which seem to be laggy in
performance), I changed to use the one from the snap channel.

And the bug is now gone!

I have just updated the status to 'Resolved' and 'Worksforme'. I'm still new to
bugzilla, hopefully I have set this correctly.

Thank you everybody!

+1 as single toolbar didn't work as single toolbar and it's not userfull to
have twice layouts with the same target. If classic single toolbar become the
same features than contextual single, than I will kill contextual single.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126649] Line style presets arrangement and additional one.

There are large differences between line style and border style.
Border styles are written to ODF file as fo:border attribute. The definition
refers to XSL and that refers to
https://www.w3.org/TR/CSS2/box.html#value-def-border-style. Styles are defined
by keywords: none, hidden, dotted, dashed, solid, double, groove, ridge, inset,
outset. OOXML uses keywords (27!) too, see section 18.18.3 ST_BorderStyle
(Border Line Styles) in ISO/IEC 29500-1:2016(E). These styles are applicable to
text portions, tables and pages.
The line styles are written to ODF as element. Graphical
objects have the styling aspects "stroke" for their lines and "fill" for their
area. Line styles format the "stroke". They are only applicable to objects,
which have a "stroke". Similar in OOXML, there it is the custDash or prstDash
element. The OOXML preset styles are labeled: solid, dot, dash, lgDash,
dashDot, lgDashDot, lgDashDotDot, sysDash, sysDot, sysDashDot and sysDashDotDot
in file format (not in UI). Their metric is illustrated in L.4.8.5.2 Line Dash
Properties in the OOXML spec.

So "border line styles" never work for "drawing line styles". Of cause you will
have styles in both systems, that look similar.

Single spaces are same size in Writer and Word, but not the space sequences,
see the attached test file x_from_word.rtf and x_from_word.docx and the
screenshot.

Workaround for document templates: use tabulators instead of space sequences
for positioning parts of the document.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126764] New: REGEX() function with an integer as 'Occurence' returns the complete 'Text' if the respective match doesn't exist. It should return #N/A.

2019-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126764

Bug ID: 126764
Summary: REGEX() function with an integer as 'Occurence'
returns the complete 'Text' if the respective match
doesn't exist. It should return #N/A.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.2 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@psilosoph.de

To justify my choice of "major" for severity see last paragraph!

Example

Current behaviour:
=REGEX("12-34-56";"[^-]*-";"";3) returns "12-34-56".

Expected behaviour and reasons:
#N/A should be returned.
Since the ordered replacement couldn't be performed due to the lack of a third
match, the actual behaviour is gravely misleading.

Additional explanations:
Some real applications will need much more complicated formulae to get a
workaround under the current behaviour.
In an actual use-case I need to rely on something like
=LEFT(REGEX($A9;$E$2;"";1);IF(CURRENT()=$A9;0;1)) instead of the clear and
simple
=IFNA(LEFT(REGEX($A9;$E$2;"";1);1);"")

In more complicated cases it may get difficult if not impossible to catch the
error without helper cells and without relying on functions (SEARCH()
e.g.)capable of applying RegEx ONLY IF the respective global setting is
enabled.

[I do not know how google sheets do whatever concerning REGEX(). Again a case
where conflicts concerning quality vs compatibility may occur. I would
appreciate quality higher generally.]

Since the REGEX() function was only implemented recently (V6.1) it may still be
feasible to change that without endangering the functionality of currently
working sheets. therefore a fix should be created REALLY FAST.

I try to create new caption category. I try to click to filed next Category:
and write name of new caption category, but it is impossible. I can use only
predefined categories.

To be certain the reported issue is not
related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your
Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and
re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91851] Fails to open when document is on UNC path

2019-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91851

Ugh, this is ugly. So we apparently convert \\127.0.0.1\share\foo\bar UNC
pathnames (or using "localhost" instead of "127.0.0.1", i.e., anything where
the UNC host-name denotes the local host) into
URLs, then canonicalize the latter to . I don't see an
easy way to fix the dilemma presented here. (One approach could be to convert
such localhost UNC pathnames into URLs, see
, and make LO understand
such UNC URLs in addition to the ones it already supports.)

I can reproduce this problem. As I wrote I find it easier to Drag and Drop
(DnD) text inside Writer, nothing else. From the source codes POV both are the
same. Broken DnD handling.

While I already have a fix for the drop target handling implemented, there
seems to be no way to fix the visual cursor feedback for DnD. I already found
that I don't get any Qt events, if I just press a modifier button while in DnD.
I tested a key handlers, the DnD handers, the "ActionChanged" event of QDrag;
nothing happens. And then I found this open Qt bug:
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-56218 . It was opened in 2017-09 for Qt
5.6 :-( The last comments claim the modifier handling is fixed in Qt 5.12, but
it's still open.

> I can confirm however that the mouse pointer doesn't change when selecting
> and then moving text with the mouse in Writer which is somewhat irritating.
> But this also occurs without KDE-integration.

That is quite probably a completely different problem, but I'm not so sure.
QDrag can set a different icon / cursor per drag action:
https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qdrag.html#setDragCursor.

Still my cursor changes for the gtk3 and gen backend, if I press Ctrl. And if I
press the Alt key, the border of the selected cells changes in Calc to indicate
the move, if I move the dragged cells around. "Fun" fact that I haven't found
any code handling Alt in DnD handlers.

>From my current POV the qt5 code does the same then the gtk+ code, but the
latter works and my code doesn't, so there is still something missing. Maybe
it's the special modifiers LO key event, which isn't yet implemented in qt5 but
only in gtk+. Never saw it called yet.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125040] Replace single toolbar with contextual single

2019-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125040

contextual single toolbar is available in LibO 6.3 and customization
(visibility true/false) will come with LibO 6.4. As standard single toolbar can
be more powerfull than NB in general (more flexible)

I will keep this bug open, but in general contextual single NB is how single
toolbar should work. As they are very similar from a user perspective there is
no difference (excluding customization and extension support).
