There could be more than one character style in one line. So it would be many lines next to each other. The mixing approach, 1/3, 2/3 etc., sounds a bit complex to me. > Second, paragraph indicators should have strong colors and character styles > should have pastel colors. But are there enough colors to show all > possibilities in a document? We've s much pre-defined styles ... Guess we have to randomize the colors. And what's missing in the indicator bars is a number to not only rely on the color. Doesn't work with my way to highlight character styles. (In reply to andreas_k from comment #18) > Would it be more helpful to use an mockup language layout. Isn't the markdown/reveal code approach the opposite of feedback to the WYSIWYG document? I mean you enter (a few) styles to the document - and we have formatted it. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127226] inconsistent behavior when opening odt vs. docx
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127226 --- Comment #2 from Tomaz Vajngerl --- The problem is that OOXML/MOX files can't be detected with examining magic bytes like for example ODF file can (that's why it is required mimetype file with appropriate content is at first place in the zip file). So when this detection fails we rely on the extension (I'm not completely sure what the detection does). To solve this issue we need to detect the type by checking the actual content: - check if it is a zip - if yes, check if it contains a file [Content-Types].xml, - if yes, we know it's a OOXML file but not which type, so parse the xml file to determine the type. This is far from a simple detection so we need to do it when magic detection fails. The trick is that we can easily detect it is a zip file and know it's not a ODF file just by looking at the magic bytes. As for the extension - yes, we should probably warn that the file doesn't use the correct extension. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

On the other hand if the variable is used in StepINITFOR,StepNext https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/basic/source/comp/loops.cxx?r=ab9b67bb#238 https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/basic/source/inc/opcodes.hxx?r=abe5a1a5#28 https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/basic/source/runtime/runtime.cxx?r=889dc7bf#763 https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/basic/source/runtime/runtime.cxx?r=889dc7bf#StepINITFOR https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/basic/source/runtime/runtime.cxx?r=889dc7bf#2546 SbxFlagBits::Write is not set to this variable. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127226] inconsistent behavior when opening odt vs. docx
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127226 --- Comment #1 from Jean-Baptiste Faure --- This problem is not hypothetical. I encountered it on a Seafile repository with online edition by OnlyOffice. A user created an odt file with LibreOffice and uploaded the file to the repository. Another user edited the file from the Seafile web interface. OnlyOffice imports the file and converts it to ooxml (2007 / 365) without renaming it in .docx. The next user synchronizes the library with a local folder and opens the file with his LibreOffice. And he says that LibreOffice is not able to open its own files :-( Best regards. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126915 --- Comment #6 from Aron Budea --- Thomas, Dieter, have you tried Redacted Export? I get nice black/white rectangles in the PDFs. The 50% opacity during the redaction makes sense, because it's easier to adjust the coverage if you can see what's behind them. Perhaps making Export Directly to PDF, which doesn't perform redaction less prominent would be reasonable. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127226] New: inconsistent behavior when opening odt vs. docx
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127226 Bug ID: 127226 Summary: inconsistent behavior when opening odt vs. docx Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.3.0.4 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jbfa...@libreoffice.org Description: Libre Office do not act the same way when it opens an odt wrongly tagged as docx and a docx wrongly tagged as odt. Steps to Reproduce: 1. take an odt file a.odt and rename it as a.docx 2. take a docx file b.docx and rename it as b.odt 3. open a.docx 4. open b.odt Actual Results: When opening a.docx (which is an ODF file) LO opens the file without notice. When opening b.odt (which is an OOXML file) LO complains that the file is corrupted and asks if LO should repair the file (with default answer set to No). If the user choose No, LO answer that the file could not be repaired and therefore cannot be opened. The user can only push the OK button and then LO opens the file without other notice. If the user choose Yes, LO answer the same thing but does not open the file. Expected Results: LO should notify the user that the format of the file does not comply with its extension. It should open the file without falsely saying that it is corrupted and it should give the correct type in the dialog File > Properties > General. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: I cannot test old version of LO but I think that this is a very old problem inherited from OOo. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

This is now forcing me to engage in excessive sheet-tab-scrolling to navigate between sheets. I have used shortened tab names to enable my 24 sheets to all be visible at once, but that has now been broken. Could we have an option (or options) to allow various sizes on sheet tabs? Maybe set on a per-spreadsheet basis? I have 2 large spreadsheets that I would want the sheet tabs displayed in 'compact' form (smallish font, minimal whitespace, small 'locked' icon, tabs sized to the sheet name). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127220] New: Please Provide Better Defaults for Placing Pictures in LO Writer
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127220 Bug ID: 127220 Summary: Please Provide Better Defaults for Placing Pictures in LO Writer Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: adalbert.hans...@gmx.de This report pertains to LibreOfficeWriter Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 2bed8af91fc2654b9ed2432f969d32d5741a529b CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@86-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2019-08-21_09:30:10 Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded When placing pictures into a LO Writer document I often have to tune the picture hand. That would not be necessary if defaults from the stylesheet would be applied automatically. I would like to be able to define that each picture placed into a document would be automatically * anchored to paragraph (only for very small pictures, e.g. smaller than 200*35 pixels, a default anchoring as character is meaningful when writing instruction manuals related to software or similar work), * without wrapping, * centred horizontally, aligned to the paragraph text area, vertically to the beginning of the paragraph's * I would prefer it if a preset distance to the text above would also be observed, e.g. 2mm to each side. All these settings should be configurable through the properties Styles>Frame Styles>Graphics. Apparently not all settings set there automatically apply to new pictures placed into the current document with such a style sheet. Steps to reproduce: 1. define the preferences according to my settings (unfortunately I found no item for anchoring to the paragraph). 2. make some screenshot of moderate size. 3. place it three times to a the document with the styles defined in step 1. Result: The screenshot is placed thee times by side, the spacing margins are observed. The pictures are pasted anchored to character. I expect them below each other by default, since Wrapping is off according to my definition in the stylesheet! Further I would prefer it if in the properties dialogue for a graphic object in the tab Type the check mark for Keep ratio would be initially checked (currently it is off by default. I have heard that this is hard coded. Presetting it on that would require minimum effort then). LibreOffice seems to suffer from the same syndrome as Microsoft word: Sometimes pictures inserted (e.g. pasted) into free text rather than into a table go “anywhere but not where you want them”. So I often place a table first if I want to to really control the placement of a picture, especially in large documents (where the random placement sometimes gets a nightmare). It would be advisable to automatically place a 1*1 table first if the cursor position is in free text and not in a table and then place the picture into that automatically placed 1*1 table. If it could be handled like this, I would prefer if the border grid for such an automatically placed table is automatically switched off. By the way: Are there defined keystrokes to add a column before or after the current cell if a table or by adding a line above or below the current line. That would also be very useful for scientific work and for the placement of pictures to a document. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75159] Tabulator indented in list
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75159 Per Persson changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|NOTABUG |--- Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED --- Comment #12 from Per Persson --- @Thomas Lendo, this is *not* a bug report about the indentation increasing with the list levels. That is something I expect to happen. I still consider this being a bug. ## How to reproduce * Create a new text document * Set a tab stop at say 10 cm (4 in) * Start a list (press point list button) Is the tab stop still where you set it to be? * Write "Level 1" * Press [TAB] * Write "Tabstop" * Press [ENTER] * Press [TAB] Where is the tab stop now? * Write "Level 2" * Press [TAB] * Write "Tabstop" Are the two "Tabstop" aligned? ## Expected behaviour I expect the tab stop to remain where I first put it and not be moved with the list indentation. That is, it should keep its position relative the left margin, not relative the indentations (neither where the list symbol is placed, nor where the text starts). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127219] New: UI: CALC Keyboard Shortcuts issue in Header- and Footer Menue
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127219 Bug ID: 127219 Summary: UI: CALC Keyboard Shortcuts issue in Header- and Footer Menue Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jr...@web.de Hello, I have tested this with various german and english LibreOffice-Versions, this with different results. Can not therefore address every single issue. Here some examples: English version: 1. Pressing the [c] key causes the cursor toggles between OK and Cancel, and at the same time the letter "c" is written in the middle area. 2. The letter [h] is underlined in both the "Header option" and on the „Help-Button". a) The „Header option“ only responds to the input of a single letter = [h] b) On the Shortcut [ALT] + [h] only the "Help". Here does not open the help, it is merely the button "Help" activated. 3. Pressing the [i] key causes the cursor to be invisibly placed in the „Right Area“ at the same time an "i" is written to the previously activated area. The same applies to the other two areas (left and center). 4. In another LibreOffice Version, the underline of the letters are missing at (OK and Cancel). 5. and so on... These are some examples of several errors that affect the „Header and Footer Menu“ in this context. Simply put: 1. The menu must not be controlled with individual letters ("c" for Center-Area) 2. If an underlined letter, this can be reached with the Keyboard-Shortcut [ALT] + […] 3. The underlines must be unique and not "H for Header" AND "H for Help" at the same time. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73451 --- Comment #7 from Aron Budea --- I replied to Thomas on IRC last night. QuickBooks is proprietary software, and them supporting or not supporting LO is a business decision (as opposed to it clearly being a bug). Thus if they decide against it, users don't have an option, while LO is free and open source, and can (theoretically) be enhanced to react to apps that are trying to call MS Office. There are plenty of applications out there that are only prepared to interact with an installed MSO for basic office functionality, and won't ever support LO, therefore enhancements like this would have real benefit to users. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118485] Impress remote bluetooth connection is not working
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118485 William Gathoye changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|NEW --- Comment #6 from William Gathoye --- Hello everyone. I'm able to confirm the issue with the latest version of Impress Remote - version 2.3 - on my Android phone (OnePlus 6T with Android 9). I tested with the app available from the Play Store and the version available via F-Droid. I am using LibreOffice 6.3 on my Arch Linux laptop. While the Wifi connectivity works flawlessly, the app is not connecting via Bluetooth. Also, please add the version 2.3.0 in the drop down menu, here, on BugZilla. Thanks! :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
