[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93111] Feature Request: Custom Style Group

2019-09-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93111

I answer your questions below their text

- Done only by context menu at style sidebar items like 'Hide'?
= Somehow the same. But a huge difference in comfort. It is quite different, to
click 10 formats as "show" instead of 155 as "hide". I prefer 10 clicks instead
of "155"

- Done with a new UI as suggested in bug 127243 with checkbox-like
multiselection? (An older discussion about custom font list comes into my mind)
= Yes, this would be a way, but there can be some ways to make it work

- Custom styles group in flat and/or hierarchical view?
= flat!
It is the idea, that we have a SHORT version of view.

- How useful is this as the setting is saved in the user profile but not in the
file itself?
= This is very useful! If I write a new document, many styles I love are not
added. If I use "used formats" some of my favorites are missing, because I just
start with the first line. At the moment I have an additional last chapter in
my documents, just to save the formats and use "user formats" as view. What an
ugly solution!
Instead it would be great to have a button "save all formats of this document
to document-view 'myFavorStyles'.
When I make a new document a very compact format view expects me by this very
name 'myFavorStyles'.

- What will be shown if the user is opening another file without such custom
styles group? And what when after that opening or going back to the file where
it exists?
= I make a screenshot and try to make an image of my imaginations in a second
posting. Cross fingers, the upload work.

I don't think so but am not a translation expert.

Is it possible to reproduce the solution manually (e.g. copying / editing a
config file or whatever)?
Or do we have to wait until - sometime in the future - the change will be
delivered via Linux (Mint 19.2) update!?

2019-09-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127279

Obviously we do not implement a vertical grid typesetting framework on which
objects can be aligned.

Rather, we describe a "Reference" paragraph style--font and leading--that
establishes a text line height. And effectively sets text "baselines" as
vertically filled from top down and applied within margins of a page style.

Multiple paragraphs on multiple pages will be aligned to that baseline when
those paragraphs (selectively) are 'Register true' enabled.

And beleive different page styles (each with a "Reference style" and
corresponding line height/baselines) can be defined (pre-defined in template)
for use in complex documents.

This is a different approach to that of InDesign or even Scribus.

Dear David Tardon,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

system and the latest version of LibreOffice that you have
confirmed the bug to be present

b) Provide easy to reproduce steps – the simpler the better

c) Provide any test case(s) which will help us confirm the problem

d) Provide screenshots of the problem if you think it might help

e) Read all comments and provide any requested information

and we will attempt to reproduce the issue. Please do not:

a) respond via email

b) update the version field in the bug or any of the other details

Dear t0m1p,

- About LibreOffice.

I can see this in a VM with Ubuntu 18.04. The render of, I presume the

@CAIRO_STATUS_FREETYPE_ERROR. Once a cairo context error state is set then it
stops drawing and cannot be reset.

On pc Win10 with master sources updated today, I don't reproduce this.
BTW, inserting line break is Shift+Enter for me. Shift+F3 corresponds to "Cycle
case".

Could you give a try to a recent LO version? Last stable on is 6.2.6 and brand
new one is 6.3.0
Indeed, 6.0.X and 6.1.X are EOL

You can find recent LO version by using LO ppa (see
https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/ppa)

2019-09-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127314

Bug ID: 127314
Summary: EDITING: Libreoffice calc. shift+f3 crash calc when
there is a line break inside a cell
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.7.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ioj10...@tuofs.com

Description:
I'm using libreoffice calc. I was trying to change case on the selected cells
and the program kept crashing. Then I noticed that same cells had line breaks
inside them. When I deleted the line breaks everything worked fine. I'm working
on a csv file. I don't know if this is relevant.

I'm using libreoffice 6.0.7.3 in Ubuntu 18.04.3 64 bits
Compilation id: 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.9

I hope that's enough information to replicate this situation.

Sorry if I made any mistake in this report. This is my first bug report and
english isn't my first language.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a cell with a line break
2. Select the cell
3. Press shift+F3

Actual Results:
Libreoffice calc crashes

Expected Results:
Change case on the selected cells

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127313] New: Copy word stats to clipboard as HTML table

2019-09-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127313

Bug ID: 127313
Summary: Copy word stats to clipboard as HTML table
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rula...@wp.pl

Description:
When I click on the word count stats in the status bar, I get a popup dialog
with detailed stats. I wish it was possible to copy this information to
clipboard.

Steps to Reproduce:
I export strings from translation projects as an HTML document (as a preview
for the translator to estimate the cost), and I need to edit this document in
Writer to include word stats.

Actual Results:
Workflow without the requested feature:

- place Writer window in left half of the screen
- open Kwrite in the right half
- select the table with translation strings in Writer
- click on the statusbar to show the stats popup
- MANUALLY RETYPE the three numbers into Kwrite
- close the popup
- create an HTML table in Writer to hold the word stats
- MANUALLY type the labels
- MANUALLY RETYPE the three numbers into the table cells

Expected Results:
Workflow once the requested feature is implemented:

- select the table in Writer
- click on the statusbar to show the stats popup
- copy word stats
- close the dialog
- paste the HTML table with the stats into the document
- delete irrelevant rows and columns

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Note that it is not even possible to retype the numbers into the document while
the stats popup is open, because typing into the document clears selection and
resets the selection stats to 0; using another editor as a manual retype buffer
is currently unavoidable.

If I try and run this macro in LO5.4.7.2, I get the following error (in French)
:

BASIC runtime error.
Property or method not found : BackGraphic.

So the method wasn't available then, or it was called something slightly
different.

I also had to correct your use of "Default Style" to "Style par défaut" in
order to avoid an error on this line :

oPageStyle =
ThisComponent.getStyleFamilies().getByName("PageStyles").getByName("Style par
défaut")

In 6.1, when I run the macro with the tests at the end I get TRUE in the
MsgBox. No image is inserted.

I'm not a Basic expert, so can't say what is wrong with your macro when testing
in my French language version of LO.

No sweat :) I appreciate the time!

And yes I understand what you mean, It's just we already have the whole
baseline deal/feature we even have it in a quite smart way using a paragraph
style as a reference (register-true [Page style: Page]). So it would be really
cool to be able to see it visually plus it would work as a visual cue for when
a new user is starting to work on a previously made document or when he is
working with another friend that sent him the file (with the Register-true
activated). And evidently it would help improve the workflow.

FWIW, I get a crash of LO6304 (with proposed recovery of crashed document)
after running this macro in a blank Writer document.

However, I can confirm that the blue shape appears in the top left hand corner

merely, an image placeholder beneath that blue shape. Then I get the crash.
