[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128285] Navigator heading selection jumps when context menu is open

2019-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128285

I bibisect the change of behavior to this commit:

commit a0c700b1493c7b51540d1e77b44d1edd9bf920f0
Author: Caolán McNamara
Date: Tue Feb 23 15:57:11 2016 +

gtk3: implement native context menus

This reuses lots of the unity machinery which is similar
to the mac concept of a single toplevel menubar.

So to drive popup menus, part of this is a rework that does away with the
idea
that the "menubar" is the controller of the hierarchy, and instead the top
element becomes the controller

Change-Id: I4336391718844bc73cfc47c1043f99f0e3b812d8

Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: a0c700b1493c7b51540d1e77b44d1edd9bf920f0
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 5.0; UI Render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)

I think the changes that were made in this commit require a change to how the
headings are tracked. Instead of not tracking only when the content tree has
focus, only track when the document has focus. This solves the problem of
selection changing when the content tree loses focus to the context menu.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128400] New: LibreOffice for Windows will not install in Wineskin on Mac

2019-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128400

Bug ID: 128400
Summary: LibreOffice for Windows will not install in Wineskin
on Mac
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.8.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: erw...@alumni.beloit.edu

Wineskin is a Mac implementation of WINE. I suspect this bug may affect other
implementations of WINE.

Since I have a strobe sensitivity, and cannot disable the blinking cursors,
blinking selection edges, etc. in LibreOffice 6.2.8 for Mac, (it defers to
system settings which do not exist), I tried to install LibreOffice 6.2.8 for
Windows in Wineskin Winery 1.7, and use win.ini settings to disable the
blinking.

The installer failed, and gave an error that "no new executables found."

Dear gadgetpig,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Dear tagezi,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Warm Regards,
QA Team

To deal with your last two lines quickly: I still don't understand that,
because the aim is to use no template or to cut the link to a used template, so
why should there be the need to "launch" (whatever that means) a template?

But the main point is, and perhaps you missed it because you stopped reading
somewhere, as you confessed: There is an extension doing all that is asked for,
see comment 68. The workaround to create a new document based on the new
template and then cpoying the content of the previous document does work, but
it requires some work. I first thought that no great problem, when I stumbled
over the bug report, but people reported problems with broken links (see
comments 62 and following), so I realized that this could be a lot of work if
many documents were afffected.
There was an older extension which did not work any longer, due to some
technical reason, and the author could not be reached. So I decided to create a
new extension, after I had been convinced that there was a need for it. I don't
know for the moment how much I relied on his code.
The extension allows to link another template to an existing document (changing
the appearance whereever changed styles are concerned), to cut the link to the
template (i. e. disregard present and future changes to the template, which is
, as I assume now without additional testing, the same as renouncing to update
a document with respect to the template when opening it), to reactivate this
link (there is no function for that in standard LibO), and to deelete the link,
leaving the document as permanently stand-alone without template (again there's
no LibO function.
So I think there is no need for thinking about workarounds. The extension seems
to work, as 14 persons voted it up and no one voted it down; a big number of
votes should not be expected for such a special feature.

The attached simple DOCX was created in LO 6.2.0.3, and saved in DOCX format.
It has vertical (rotated) text in the first column.

- Open it in LO 6.3+. The text already looks different.
- Click into the different cells in the first column (the one with the rotated
text).

=> The caret always ends up in the top cell, other cells in that column aren't
selectable.

presumably the document needs some particular content in it to get this to
happen, footnotes, references to footnotes ? something like that.

I guess https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/81533/ would fix it, or something
clode to that.

It's happening again with a fresh file I just created with LO 6.3.2. I created
a new .ods file, inserted a couple headers and a date, saved it, then went to
XYplorer and double clicked on a different LibreOffice file (an .odt, not even
a spreadsheet!) and got the same result: the file doesn't open until I manually
close the Calc window, then complains about recovery data.

2019-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44267

I'm not sure this report is the same as Bug 128272 "Metric measurements rounded
to imperial units". I've attached two screen-shots to illustrate...

In screenshot #1, I draw a shape and in the "Position & Size" dialogue I
explictly set it's width and height to 90.00mm and 120.00mm respectively.

In screenshot #2, I de-select the object and re-select it. It's width and
height have now changed to 89.92mm by 119.89mm. These new dimensions are
actually the equivalent of 3.54 inches (the nearest 1/100th inch to 90mm) and
4.72 inches (the nearest 1/100th inch to 120mm).

So there does seem to be some interaction between the measurement units in this
case.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128397] New: Crashes after chart manipulation in Calc

2019-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128397

Bug ID: 128397
Summary: Crashes after chart manipulation in Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Chart
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gaj...@agzeta.pl

Description:
Crash when attempt to manipulate charts. I got a message "Fatal Error:
getCurrentController was called on an already disposed or closed model" and the
application has closed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Import a csv file into Calc.
2. Create a XY chart (points only).
Program hangs after one of the following steps:
3. Click a right mouse button.
4. Attempt to change a point style.

Actual Results:
Systems crashes with a message: "Fatal Error: getCurrentController was called
on an already disposed or closed model".

Expected Results:
Proper chart manipulation.

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I noticed that frequent file saving reduces risk of failure.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123152] [Regression] USB dialog pops up every time I do something with usb, please don't

2019-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123152

still broken, says "USB connected, please configure device" and forces me into
a "Storage provider settings" dialog. Even if this wasn't completely misplaced
with this being an usb AUDIO adapter, this would still be misguided (if
intentional) for these two reasons:

1. People do other things on Android with storage than just using it for
LibreOffice. There would be total chaos if any productivity app with storage
settings prompted them when the user plugs storage in at the same time, so why
would it be a good idea for libreoffice alone? What makes libreoffice more
important to justify this?

2. The dialog is very unclear for new users. What is its purpose? This dialog
doesn't even say it's from libreoffice, let alone what it's for since it
doesn't explain what a storage provider even is, or how libreoffice would use
it

Therefore I suggest if this automatic prompt is meant to be a "feature" to just
remove it entirely, in all situations other than the user manually opening this
dialog.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128393] New: gtk3: insert -> fields -> more fields crashes

2019-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128393

Bug ID: 128393
Summary: gtk3: insert -> fields -> more fields crashes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vmik...@collabora.com
CC: caol...@redhat.com

Hi,

Steps to reproduce:

- start Writer with the gtk3 backend
- select insert -> fields -> more fields

Expected results:

- dialog shows up

Actual results:

- assertion failure:

soffice.bin:
/home/vmiklos/git/libreoffice/master/vcl/unx/gtk3/gtk3gtkinst.cxx:8447: virtual
void GtkInstanceTreeView::make_sorted(): Assertion
`gtk_tree_view_get_model(m_pTreeView) && "don't select when frozen"' failed.

Reading SwFieldRefPage::UpdateSubType(), it's not obvious to me how to
re-arrange that code so that make_sorted() is not called in the freeze() /
thaw() zone. I guess this is a regression.

Happened with a recent master, 0648aba5740a9ab62a98695a493ea9d1edbc7207.

Thanks,

Miklos

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128392] New: Libreoffice for Mac OS X does not respect Dvorak-QWERTY keyboard layout for command keys.

2019-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128392

Bug ID: 128392
Summary: Libreoffice for Mac OS X does not respect
Dvorak-QWERTY keyboard layout for command keys.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bugzi...@complexity.org

Description:
I use Dvorak keyboard layout with the QWERTY command variant (Dvorak-QWERTY).
This lays out keys in the Dvorak arrangement but reverts to QWERTY layout when
the command key is pressed, so that frequently used commands (CMD-X - Cut,
CMD-V - Paste etc) can be used with the regular keys sighted.

All other Mac applications respect this layout. However, when trying to use
this keyboard layout in Libreoffice (any subcomponent) the QWERTY command
layout is not respected.

Thus in a document, if I press CMD-X to cut text, Libreoffice responds with the
action for CMD-Q (Quit application). Pressing CMD-B in an attempt to Bold text
will respond to the CMD-X (Cut text) command.

This would be correct behaviour for Dvorak standard layout but does not respect
the QWERTY Command variant.

This should be considered a bug as it breaks expected behaviour.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a text document.
2. Switch to Dvorak - QWERTY keyboard layout.
3. Highlight some text then attempt to cut, paste, bold or otherwise interact
with it with the CMD- combinations.
4. Observe that the expected actions do not occur and instead the standard
Dvorak key combinations result instead.
5. Switch back to a standard Dvorak layout.
6. Repeat step 3.
7. Observe the commands are responding in exactly the same way.
8. Switch to a native (e.g. US English QWERTY layout)
9. Repeat step 3.
10. Observe the commands respect the visible keyboard layout.

Actual Results:
With Dvorak-QWERTY as a keyboard layout:

Selecting text and pressing CMD-X to Cut text results in a Quit action.
Selecting text and pressing CMD-B to Bold text results in the Cut action.

Selecting text and pressing any CMD- combination results in the action
associated with the underlying Dvorak layout instead of the visible QWERTY
layout.

Expected Results:
With Dvorak-QWERTY as a keyboard layout:

Selecting text and pressing CMD-X to Cut text should result in the Cut command.
Selecting text and pressing CMD-B to Bold text should result in the Bold
command.

Pressing the CMD- combination should respect the Dvorak-QWERTY variant
layout and produce the command associated with the visible key.

Reproducible: Always

If the bisect issue happens so early on, we can just call this notBibisectable.

Also note that "Save as" also works when an existing file is opened, edited and
saved.

This smacks of a permissions issue.

Are there several types of authorized developer where only AppleStore approved
apps get to function fully ?
