[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 129487] New: Contents are repeated in pagemaker file conversion

2019-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129487

Bug ID: 129487
Summary: Contents are repeated in pagemaker file conversion
   Product: Document Liberation Project
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: libpagemaker
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rajeeshknamb...@gmail.com

Created attachment 156662
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=156662&action=edit
Sample files

I'm trying to convert a pagemaker file with 4 pages. The converted text file
has entire content repeated 4 times.

How to reproduce:
-

$ pmd2text pmdtest.pmd | less

Observe that same contents are repeated 4 times.

The attached archive contains 4 files:
1. The PMD file contains extended ASCII characters and used to display
Malayalam text (in pre-Unicode era).
2. The PDF file is for comparison (even though it might look greek to the LO
developers, but might help).
3. The converted text file.
4. If you must view the contents, an ASCII font is also attached.

Expected result: contents are not repeated on conversion.

In tdf#75806, leading characters were added to analyzed part of string in
TextSearch::searchForward. This fixes look-behind assertions. To handle
look-ahead assertions, similarly trailing characters need to be added there.

I confirm it with

But I think, we have two issues

a) If last paragraph is empty it is not found when searching for paragraph
style (this is a bug)
b) LO should indicate that a paragraph style is found in an empty paragraph
(enhancement)

So I propose to narrow down this bug report to the first issue and to open a
new report for the second.

We talked in the design meeting about heading vs header. And regarding the
table it's more like a "heading" in terms of a chapter title than a "header"
that usually comes on top of a page. So the current terms are WFM (native
speaker are welcome to reopen the issue).

Unfortunately it's not so simple ;-)

> So let me summarize what what needs to be done:
> – move the already existing dialogue to a separate tab called "OpenType"
> – group and order the features in a sensible way
> – change some features’ activation mode to drop-downs and bullets (see list)
> – keep not available features visible, and grey them out

> That’s it. No problems, no duplicates, no confusion.

By no means the UX input should be discouraging or block your work. We pondered
over the various aspects and you made a final decision with the input from UX.
Go ahead and let's talk about those details plus sensible defaults later.

2019-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124548

Grabbing focus to the active sub page button when the area tab page is
activated will cause unexpected keyboard navigation behavior by moving the
focus to the active button when the tab page is visited.

Perhaps this could be done for mouse selection only. It would change the
current mouse selection behavior of focus being set on the tab if focus is
currently on any other tab.

Dear Saren Tasciyan,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126638] Save-As behavior on MacOS Catalina

2019-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126638

Me and all my colleagues are facing the exact same problem since we updated to
Catalina on different LO versions (5.5, 6.2...)
It seems to be in all dialog box on all LO apps (Writer, Calc...): impossible
to use keyboard shortcuts => we used to copy/paste filenames while saving for
example => we can still do a right-click/paste but no keyboard shortcut anymore
It is only happening in Dialog boxes.
Other softwares (I tried in Chrome but also Gimp, VLC, Inkscape) are working
properly.

It happened to all my colleagues and I when we updated MacOS to Catalina.

If anybody has an idea for a work-around that would be great!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 129482] New: Cannot open recent document in Writer while Impress is active

2019-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129482

Bug ID: 129482
Summary: Cannot open recent document in Writer while Impress is
active
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: david.cortes.riv...@gmail.com

Steps to reproduce:
- Launch Writer.
- Create some document and save it, so that it would show up in the list of
recent documents.
- Close Writer and any other LO application.
- Launch Impress.
- Create a new presentation with it and save it.
- Open Writer with a (default) new blank document, without closing Impress.
- Try to open the file that was saved earlier through the drop-down button
"Recent documents".

Expected behavior: should open the earlier file in Writer.

Actual behavior: as long as Impress remains open, will not open the file in
Writer, but rather will launch a new window with a blank document and close the
one from which the document was tried to be loaded.

Argh, I don't reproduce the slowdown with gen rendering. I selected 40 cells,
nothing special.

Since this rendering doesn't call accessible part (the part which seems to
consume a lot of cpu with gtk3 rendering), it's understandable.
So it means no mdds issue here.

I'm sorry - acted too quick. I _can_ reproduce it in the versions mentioned
above. I didn't read my description very thorough.

When creating the pdf like described below, only one link is clickable.

- File -> New -> Text document
- Format -> Page Style -> Footer -> Footer on

- In footer: Insert -> Frame
- OK
- In frame: Insert -> Hyperlink: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/

Kohei/Lubos: following your discussion about Calc perf, thought you might be
interested in this one.
Indeed, I just launched Calc, then selected A1, A3, A5, etc.
After 25 cells, it began to become a bit slow then at 30 it's really slow (I
got a Ryzen 5 + 32Go with no other running apps except "usual" services on a
Debian testing)

I'm gonna attach a Flamegraph

Of course don't hesitate to uncc yourself if not interested, no time, or
anything.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 129481] New: Undoing "increase indent" undoes only one line at a time

2019-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129481

Bug ID: 129481
Summary: Undoing "increase indent" undoes only one line at a
time
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: david.cortes.riv...@gmail.com

Steps to reproduce:
- Launch Impress.
- Write something in the default slide structure as a bullet point.
- Press enter to move to start writing the next bullet point, then tab to make
it an inner list within the earlier bullet point.
- Write a couple more points in this sub-list.
- Increase indentation with the button that has lines and a blue arrow, which
says "Increase Indent" when the mouse is hovered above it.
(at this point the whole text becomes more indented)
- Press Ctrl + Z.

Expected behavior: should de-indent all the lines that were indented after
pressing the "Increase Indent" button.

Actual behavior: only de-indents one line, requiring to press Ctrl + Z for
every single line that was affected.

I would suggest "form design mode" and either "form elements design mode" or
"controls design mode". Up to you ;)

Bug ID: 129480

   Product: LibreOffice

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: greenandpleasant2000-supp...@yahoo.co.uk

It is correct to use p. (page) and pp. (pages) BEFORE the page range of a cited
reference text. However, they should not be used in an index.

The correct abbreviations which should be substituted are f. (and the following
page); and ff. (and the following pages). These are placed after the first page
number, and separated from it by a thin space (according to "New Hart's
Rules").
