[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131045] New: Conditional formatting: "Cell value is" condition name should be "Cell value"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131045 Bug ID: 131045 Summary: Conditional formatting: "Cell value is" condition name should be "Cell value" Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Keywords: difficultyBeginner, easyHack Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com Created attachment 158283 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=158283&action=edit Screenshot of a conditional format which is named incorrectly In conditional formatting, one of condition names (chosen from the first drop-down list in the dialog) is "Cell value is". Then from second drop-down, a specification is chosen, and lastly, optional value is entered in the edit box. For a format like "Cell value is" "equal to" ..., the resulting name of the condition is "Cell value is equal to ...", which looks correct English. However, some specifications make this look incorrect: like "Cell value is" "Begins with" ... or "Cell value is" "Contains" ... (see screenshot). To make the language correct, the proposal is to change "Cell value is" to simple "Cell value", and entries like "equal to" to "is equal to"; entries like "Begins with" (starting with uppercase) should be lowercased. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95266] [VIEWING] While having the cursor in a comment and view scrolled elsewhere, after switching back from another window the view jumps to the cursor
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95266 --- Comment #23 from Luke Kendall --- This very annoying and frustrating bug is still present in: Version: 6.3.4.2 Build ID: 60da17e045e08f1793c57c00ba83cdfce946d0aa CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.4; UI render: default; VCL: x11; Locale: en-GB (en_AU.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded Just noting that using Find & Replace, when you click *on a comment* on the visible page, the view often (70% of the time?) jumps far away from the text you just found, back to some match of that same string at a completely different place in the document. I had to keep redoing the searches; eventually the view wouldn't jump away and I could make the change I wanted. Sometimes (20% of the time?) the view jumps even when you try to click into the body of the document rather than on a comment, but the bug occurs far more frequently if you try to click on a comment. It doesn't seem to matter whether the matched text is in a comment or in the body of the document. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89901 --- Comment #15 from QA Administrators --- Dear Tomas, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99014] FORMATTING: Pasting text marked with comments is wrongly formatted (see comments 7 and 8)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99014 --- Comment #12 from QA Administrators --- Dear Luke Kendall, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131044 Bug ID: 131044 Summary: 3D Effects dialog does not allow to set 1 vertical segment Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Draw Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de Created attachment 158282 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=158282&action=edit Example to examine the number of vertical segments Look into attached file. It has for the rotation object the attribute dr3d:vertical-segments="1" in style "gr2". That is correct, because the path of the object is a single line. Now open the file in Draw and open the "3D Effects" dialog. It has a cone. The line style is set to "solid" so that the segments are visible. Click on the object. Change something in the dialog, e.g. set angle to 270°. Assign it. Now the cone has no longer 1 vertical segment but 2. Go back to the dialog and try to change the number of vertical segments back to 1. It is not possible. It is valid for a rotation object to have 1 vertical segments. If the underlying path is a polyline, then the vertical segments correspond to the number of line segments in the path. And in case the path has only a single line segment the number in 'vertical segments' should be 1 too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Paragraph color is a valid formatting by itself, and is not deprecated in any way. It makes no sense to "alert the user" about legitimate formatting. If a button's behavior is silently changed, users accustomed with the old behavior would be caught with some unpleseant surprises, for example bug 131040. After all, the > button is placed on the table toolbar, and as such should apply cell > attributes. It's perfectly valid to change the button to apply cell background instead of paragraph background once the feature is implemented. The problem is that it causes confusion for users editing old documents, as shown by this bug report. This change in toolbar is not even mentioned in the release notes, only the newly available UNO command is mentioned (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/6.3#Writer). Ordinary user would rarely expecting the behavior change of a button by reading that. Or by reading the new tooltip (although it specifies "Table Cell Backgroud Color", the old one is simply "Background Color"). > But even if we accept that there is indeed a problem here, what can we do to > avoid this problem? I doubt that changing the button placement or icon will > make any difference, as we have this kind of changes anyway between > releases. It's also unlikely that people will even notice a minor change to > the icon. Well, ideally, LO could see the current cell has no cell background color, but has paragraph background color, and either offer two buttons on the toolbar or somehow alert the user. Or LO can alert the user when opening an document with paragraph BG color instead of cell BG color. Or change the default setting to have cell BG color overriding paragraph BG color, unless the user explicitly change paragraph BG color again. I'm sure UI and UX experts will have better ideas. I'm not proposing reverting the change to the button here. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131040 Bug ID: 131040 Summary: Table Cell Background Color from 6.2.8 Writer can't be changed in 6.3.4 and higher Product: LibreOffice Version: 3.3.4 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mvarne...@yahoo.com Description: Table created in LO 6.2.8 Writer had yellow background color in certain cells. Have been using 6.3.4 lately. Noticed that changing background color to "No Fill" did not remove the background color. Strangely, setting a background color other than "No Fill" placed the new background color in a very thin band around the outside of the cell, but left the old color in the middle of the cell. Opened file in 6.2.8 and was able to change the background color as normal. Perhaps LO is now using a different parameter for background color. Still, it should be possible to change the color in existing documents. Am I missing something? Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create table with background color in 6.2.8 Writer and save. 2. Open document in 6.3.4 or higher. 3. Attempt to change background color to a different color. Actual Results: Background color changes in thin band around the outside of the cell. Middle of cell is not affected. Expected Results: Color in entire background of cell should change. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98590] Confusing behavior when cell with number is changed to format Text: no indication if cell value type is number or text
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98590 b. changed: What|Removed |Added CC||newbie...@gmx.de --- Comment #10 from b. --- this point was discussed plenty times? 1. to take the alignment of cell content as a 'type indicator' is a weak approach / bad path as it could be manually overwritten. 2. it is almost a question of faith, one party defends that changes by the user should not have any harmful effects on existing constructions, but accepts that errors or 'irritations' will occur later, the other side thinks that an action by the user - also a formatting - is a declaration of intent to which he expects a reaction. And this immediately, not 'sometime later' when he has long forgotten what he reformatted, when and why, or never knew about it in a table from someone else. 3. I'm of the second opinion, if a user does damage with a format change he should see it immediately and still has 'ctrl-z' to help him out. if the damage occurs outside of his view he should be warned with a note, this should also be done with the current behaviour if later on - when evaluating the format change by changing the value - consequences in remote areas occur. 4. Capitalized 'NEVER' and 'consider other layers' are statements, but not arguments. From a programmer's point of view there are certainly arguments for the current procedure, from a user's point of view it is 'suboptimal'. The wish to have a program / table / sheet reacting to user actions in an way intuitively understandable to a user, even a 'simple-minded-user' is an argument. (i've lost weeks! with similar weak behaviour in excel, late evaluation of formats and 'hidden' exotic formattings not 'checkable' by the user, one can say i hate such things.) 5. Marking cells as what they are formatted to would be very helpful, regardless of the basic idea one belongs to, a clear marking if format and content do not match would be very good ... a detailed analysis of what a cell is formatted as, what it was formatted as when the content was entered, what it is currently evaluated as, and what would change with a 'touch' ... probably goes beyond the scope of a clearly arranged UI ...??? just my two cents, reg. b. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131038] New: Tables and Forms not interacting
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131038 Bug ID: 131038 Summary: Tables and Forms not interacting Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.3.5.2 release Hardware: x86 (IA32) OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: guydewd...@gmail.com Description: Table set up, simple text and formatting. Added forms (radio buttons) and now I cannot adjust height of cells rationally. Either goes to 1cm high or 5cm, and moves buttons from cell to cell. Also - when creating form components, I cannot get the Label to associate with the Option - be it options or list box etc etc, only the Wizard. Have read and followed online tutorials ;-) Steps to Reproduce: 1.make a table 3 x 3 full page 2.add group boxes of 2 choices per row 3 - format choice text to larger font (10) 3. try to alter cell row height. Actual Results: Group box text has bottom of letters cut off. Random height of row. Tried to 'lock' to grid (which is invisible too) no help Expected Results: Be able to see all of font (missing bottom of g etc) smooth transition of cell height Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Removed and reloaded LO. OS Catalina fully updated. Open GL not enabled. No change with. Also - when trying to raise and lower the table cells height, it even with the correct cursor symbol on display, it selects the cell and the one above / below instead of moving the line. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131037] New: Character spacing problems with Microsoft Fax printer in Draft print quality
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131037 Bug ID: 131037 Summary: Character spacing problems with Microsoft Fax printer in Draft print quality Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.0.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Printing and PDF export Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ja...@binarycoder.net Description: Using the Windows 10 built-in "Fax" printer in Draft (200x100 dpi) quality there are character spacing problems. These problems do not occur in Normal (200x200 dpi) quality. This is similar to bug 124123 regarding Dymo LabelWriter with non-square dpi, but much easier to reproduce since everything needed to reproduce it comes with Windows. On the other hand, bug 124123 affects the best resolution supported by the Dymo printer whereas this bug affects the worst resolution of the Fax printer. Of the versions available in the "old" download archive, I have narrowed down the regression to between 5.3.0.0.alpha1 (good) and 5.3.0.0.beta1 (bad). This may have to do with the fact that the dots in this resolution are rectangular (dpiX != dpiY). The odt files needed to reproduce it are in the attached archive as well as the output tif files under 5.3.0.0.alpha1, 5.3.0.0.beta1, and 6.4.1.2. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the file Portrait.odt. 2. Click File, Print. 3. Ensure the "Fax" printer is selected. 4. In the Properties, ensure: Paper size: Letter Image quality: Draft (200x100 dpi) Orientation: Portrait 5. Notice that the preview area shows lots of problems. 6. Click Cancel if prompted for Fax Setup. 7. When the New Fax dialog appears, drag and drop the .tif attachment to your Desktop, etc. 8. Open the .tif in a graphics program. Repeat steps for Landscape.odt with Orientation: Landscape in step 4. Actual Results: Portrait: (1) Bad kerning, such as between "i"/"m" and "i"/"n". (3) Too much spacing between all letters. Landscape: (1) Bad kerning, such as between "m" and "p" (3) Too little spacing between all letters. Expected Results: WYSIWYG results Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Versions Tested: Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1 (x64) Build ID: f4ca1573fcf445164c068c1046ab5d084e1b005f CPU Threads: 12; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: GL; Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: CL *** START OF REGRESSION *** Version: 5.3.0.0.beta1 (x64) Build ID: 690f553ecb3efd19143acbf01f3af4e289e94536 CPU Threads: 12; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: GL; Layout Engine: new; Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: CL Version: 6.4.1.2 (x64) Build ID: 4d224e95b98b138af42a64d84056446d09082932 CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: GL; VCL: win; Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US Calc: CL -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
