[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104760] High CPU load scrolling an empty page horizontally
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104760 --- Comment #5 from QA Administrators --- Dear Telesto, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131466] Maybe some document settings aren't saved?
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131466 --- Comment #31 from Bart --- I wonder if English is not your mother tongue. To avoid any misunderstandings, here's my last post in French: Je me demande si l’anglais n’est pas ta langue maternelle. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131466] Maybe some document settings aren't saved?
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131466 --- Comment #30 from Bart --- Your question was: "Native packages on Debian are .deb, why to use .rpm?" I really thought I had answered that question and I didn't see another question in your last post. This entire morning I have been struggling to install Debian 6.4 on your and Dieter's request. I had to install 28 debian packages, one by one, and I finally got it working. My question "Is there someone who could give me a hint?" was unanswered. And that's okay. I realize that I'm communicating with volunteers, but I'm also offering my time, trying to join you all to make LibreOffice a better product. I also created 12 screen copies, partly in response to questions from you. I also added a photoshopped image, which took me a few hours to make. I apologize if I did not respond to any of your questions more promptly. Trying to install 6.4 took me a lot of time and making the photoshopped image also took time. Here are questions/requests from you that I found. I addressed all of them: - Could you give a try at last stable LO version 6.3.5 (or brand new 6.4.2)? - could you attach the example file so we can more quickly try to reproduce this? - On which Linux distrib are you? - I still don't know what's "Software Catalog" - Finally, could you attach a doc so we can try to reproduce this more quickly? - Native packages on Debian are .deb, why to use .rpm? Please let me know which of your questions I missed. Nevertheless I do appreciate your time and effort. PS: I suspect we're on different continents. Now there is the circumstance in German language that we have words that have an apostrophe in the middle of the word. For example "mach's gut". The correct spelling is with the right single quotation mark. Code 8217. LibreOffice replaces my apostrophe already after I have written mach' in a left single quotation mark Code 8216. What is o.K. for quotation mark but not for Apostrophe. LibreOffice does not wait if the apostrophe is really at the end of the word. The replacement should only happen when the apostrophe is actually at the end of the word. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a LibreOffice Document 2. Change the Language in German(Germany) 3. write the Word : mach' 4. write the word complete with "s" Actual Results: LO change the apostrophe in a quotation mark Expected Results: LibreOffice must wait if the word really ends with an apostrophe. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131466] Maybe some document settings aren't saved?
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131466 Bart changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |MOVED --- Comment #26 from Bart --- Dieter, thank you for chiming in. I already added my suggestion to topic 125268. I will start a new bug report as soon as I successfully installed LibreOffice 6.4.2 . That however, is where I find a speed-bump. I'm running Debian 10 and here's what I tried: I first tried to install the latest version from the Debian Software Catalog. (If you're not familiar with Debian, that compares to the App Sore on an iPhone.) Then I get version 6.1.5-3 and that's not what you asked for. Then I went to "www.libreoffice.org/download/download" and I downloaded "LibreOffice_6.4.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz". First I choose to right-click and I selected: "Open With -> Preferences -> Software" The Software Catalog opens and it shows a message on top of the window: "Failed to install: not supported" Next I right-clicked and choose: "Open With -> Preferences -> Software & Updates" Then I get the message: "There are no sources to install from. The file 'LibreOffice_6.4.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz' does not contain any valid software sources" No problem, I right-clicked and this time I selected "Open With -> System Tools -> GDebi Package Installer" The Package Installer starts and gives me message "'LibreOffice_6.4.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz' is not a Debian package. The MIME type of this file is 'application/x-tar' and can not be installed on this system" I'm not giving up. Now I choose to right-click and select "Open With -> Preferences -> Apper". Mmmm ... that does nothing at all. Okay, time to unpack myself and see if that goes better. After unpacking I had folder "LibreOffice_6.4.2.2._Linux_x86-64_rpm". In there I found file "install". I double-clicked it, but nothing seemed to happen. Then I right-clicked and selected: "Open With -> System Tools -> GDebi Package Installer" No luck. Now I open a terminal box and I give the command: $ ./install . libreoffice64 That's not the solution either. I went back to "www.libreoffice.org/download/download" and I also found "LibreOffice_6.4.2_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz", which I downloaded. I repeated most of the steps that I took before, with similar results. Resuming, is there someone who can give me a hint? :) I think I'll start a separate topic. Please consider this post a FYI. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125268] Wrong text highlight color when export document to doc/docx
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125268 Bart changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|FIXED |--- Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED CC||bart...@tushmail.com --- Comment #32 from Bart --- I was also taken by surprise that I had selected "Light Yellow 3" in a document, saved it as .doc , and to see that the color was changed to "Yellow" after I had reopened it. So I hope that I have a useful suggestion. For me as a user everything is much less surprising if they are visible. Image "HighlightAndShading.png" gives a photoshopped impression. In this suggestion Highlighting and Shading can be seen at the same time. Users should be better aware of the two when both are visible at the same time. So ... would it be worth a thought to remove: "Character Highlighting, Export As Highlighting / Shading" from "Tools -> Options -> Load/Save -> Microsoft Office" and do something like the image instead? As a user, I am also much happier with less options under "Tools -> Options -> etc.". I never know if an option is there, and if it's there, I never know where it's located or what its name is. More than once I clicked all (!) the boxes and tabs under "Tools -> Options", in various programs repeatedly (!), only to find that the thing I was looking for, wasn't there. If the developers don't like this idea, that's fine with me, but if it can be given a thought, that would be really nice. I hope that implementing this suggestion leads to less confusion with users, I hope that less confusion leads to less bug reports, and I hope that less bug reports leads to less work for the developers. :) :) :) With this suggestion I did keep in mind that documents can be created in Libre Office and then sent to MS Word users, that they can go the opposite way, but also that they can go back and forth all the time. I don't know if it's better if a user can select both shading and highlighting at the same time, OR if they should only be able to choose one of the two. If they can select both at the same time in MS Word, then it may be better for compatibility to do this in Libre Office too. Most of all I hope that I made a user-friendly suggestion. :) (Obviously, I hope it's developer-friendly too. :) ) Thanks again to all the developers for all the time and effort that you are putting into this. PS: I had first posted this suggestion in topic 131466. When first posting, I had not read jmux's comment "Maybe for DOCX documents there should be explicitly two ways to set the background: highlight and shading, so the user can be aware of the difference?". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
