[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132448] New: The first options, in the 'Crop' tab dialog box for an image (JPG) inserted in a text file (LibreOffice Writer), are always covered by some black artefacts
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132448 Bug ID: 132448 Summary: The first options, in the 'Crop' tab dialog box for an image (JPG) inserted in a text file (LibreOffice Writer), are always covered by some black artefacts Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.3.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: estienne.bl...@laposte.net Description: Since several versions of LibreOffice (x64), under Windows 7 or Windows 10 (I recently migrated, but the bug appeared before), the first options are covered by black artefacts and they are unreadeable. If I clic on the very first one, on the left where the radio button is, the black artefacts suddenly disapear. It's the same for the second option. The dimensions of cropping areas are also covered by black artifacts, until I change their values. Sorry if the specific terms in the english version of the dialog box are not correct here, because I use exclusively the French version of LibreOffice. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a new Writer file 2. Insert an image (JPG) from a file, anywhere in the document 3. Select the inserted image and open his 'Properties' contextual menu 4. Clic on the 'Crop' tab Actual Results: The first Options Labels are unreadable because they are covered by black artefacts Expected Results: The first Options Labels must be readable and not covered by black artefacts Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: When I wrote this bug report, I discovered the "try to reset your profile" tip. I did, and it turns out the bug is gone. I still prefer to publish this report to help you find out why this kind of corruption can appear. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59926] FILESAVE breaks Edit Password Protection
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59926 --- Comment #9 from QA Administrators --- Dear Rainer Bielefeld Retired, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132445] New: Assertion failure when checking font preview for certain fonts in LOOL
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132445 Bug ID: 132445 Summary: Assertion failure when checking font preview for certain fonts in LOOL Product: LibreOffice Online Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Keywords: haveBacktrace Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu CC: glo...@fbihome.de Blocks: 105537 Created attachment 159979 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=159979&action=edit Backtrace The following requires a debug LO build coupled with LO Online to trigger. The assert seems to indicate some kind of font fallback handling problem, so far I found the following fonts trigger it: Fira Mono, Fira Sans, Optima, TeX Gyre Adventor (and probably other Tex Gyre ones), Vegur. - Open a document in LOOL. - Open Format -> Character, and choose one of the above fonts in the font list. => Crash with assertion failure when it tries to render the preview. There's no crash if a non-debug LO build is used (and the preview is still shown). The console shows the following assert: "vcl/unx/generic/gdi/freetypetextrender.cxx:166: virtual std::unique_ptr FreeTypeTextRenderImpl::GetTextLayout(int): Assertion `mpFreetypeFont[nFallbackLevel]' failed." Attaching backtrace. The bug could perhaps be reproduced just with a core build in some way, but I haven't found how. Opening the Character properties dialog in gtktiledviewer, and switching to one of the reproducer fonts there doesn't trigger assert. Briefly the assert was triggered upon document load, but that's fixed (see bug 132424). The assert was added with the following commit: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=8d7435aa72af7fd0b454d7314c6c79f61f112679 author Jan-Marek Glogowski 2019-01-23 19:59:45 +0100 committer Jan-Marek Glogowski 2019-01-25 19:03:55 +0100 "Assert missing SalGraphics font on GetTextLayout" Two details I don't understand: - why does it only trigger in LOOL? - since it looks like the fonts can be rendered, what is actually going wrong? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132396] "Missing hyphenation info" pop-up banner displayed for Chinese which has no concept of hyphenation
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132396 --- Comment #3 from Ming Hua --- Okay, so I've tested on Windows about this hyphenation feature, and can't reproduce. 1. Create a new blank document in Writer; 2. Type the following sentence: "This is a test for hyphenation feature in LibreOffice, with mixed Chinese and English text, like biotransformation (生物转化) and pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (矽肺病).", with the default 12-pt Liberation Serif font, the word "biotransformation" happens to be at the end of first line and start of second line, without hyphenation it is put on the second line; 3. Make sure that when I click inside the sentence, when the cursor is in the English parts, the status bar shows "English (USA)", and when the cursor is in the Chinese parts, it shows "Chinese (simplified)"; 4. Tools > Language > Hyphenation..., the dialog pops up and offers to hyphenize "bio-information", if confirmed, the "bio-" part is moved to the first line; 5. Save file and re-open it, the hyphenized word displays fine. No error message in the process. This was with LO 6.3.5 on Windows 10 as specified in comment #1. @5s7cigse6x Can you attach an example file and provide detailed steps to reproduce? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132399] Colibre: Too large size for Impress' Display Views icons
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132399 --- Comment #13 from Rizal Muttaqin --- (In reply to Thorsten Wagner from comment #11) > Indeed, there are further strange effects when switching between "Edit > Modes" and "Master Modes". After switching to "small" and than to "extra > large", icon for "small" remains. Furthermore for "large" another icon with > correct size is shown until switching again to "Master Modes". The main rules is here: Every time we switch the icon size or change the icon theme, the "static" Display Views icon appears and every time we change the mode, the "dynamic" version will come. Yes, the dynamic version has such strange unpredictable size in this case. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Please keep it a bit on topic B) Don't write long a life story, but keep it as short as possible. Yes, there are quite a number of fundamental issues in Calc [be aware, Writer has surely the same amount of them]. Please do report them with Steps to reproduce. However, one bug in each report. Only the steps needed; not a story about OpenCL, multithreading.. And preferably not reposting a known bug (however, can happen sometimes :-). I looked at bug 131339 & bug 124577 comment 10.
