[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125154] writer calculation using variable within table does not work with formated numbers

2020-09-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125154

Still persistent with 7.0.1 portable.

Just in case someone reading this needs a workaround:

- define variable in an empty unused cell, use formatting without grouping
(thousand separator)
- set the text color of that cell to white, so this number does not get printed
- in the cell where the number is supposed to be shown, use a table reference
to the cell with the variable, format this cell with thousands separator, done

I certainly (still) back the importance of this feature. :-)

(I think) It is quite natural to open the TOC's context menu for refreshing the
TOC. So placing an option there seems a good alternative too. A tick-option
could be added to the TOC's context menu.
Example: tables context menu, entry *template*, subentry *linebreak on end of
page*

Dear Pierre Farrugia,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107612] NNBSP rendered incorrectly in scripts like Mongolian

2020-09-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107612

Dear Volga,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136600] Application Error crash at start ( psp::PrintFontManager::convertSfntName )

2020-09-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136600

Just adding a note for myself, that today I updated to 6.4.6.2 and it does not
fix the issue. I'll keep the report version at 6.4.5.2 since it describes it as
"earliest affected". I'm pretty sure it's even older bug but 6.4.5.2 is the
earliest version I actually started to debug the problem with.

I hope to have enough time on Sunday to check why the compiling fails.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137011] New: no preview in explorer or directory opus

2020-09-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon

hard for me to use if i cannot browse directories with preview

Steps to Reproduce:
1.create file in writer
2.save file
3.browse with explorer with preview window on

While I can confirm the reported autocorrect behavior "city#1" -> "City#1" with
7.0.1, I can't confirm that this is a change of behavior, as 6.4.6 does the
same autocorrection for me:
Version: 6.4.6.2 (x64)
Build ID: 0ce51a4fd21bff07a5c061082cc82c5ed232f115

Not sure if this is a bug or intended behavior.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137010] New: Calc Changes First Letter Case When Adding # Sign to a Word

2020-09-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137010

Bug ID: 137010
Summary: Calc Changes First Letter Case When Adding # Sign to a

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: crusader...@gmail.com

Description:
When using LO Calc version 7.0.1.2 (x64), build
7cbcfc562f6eb6708b5ff7d7397325de9e764452, whenever I enter a word beginning
with lower case and having a # sign as part of the word, Calc changes the
word's first character to upper case. That was not the case in previous
versions of Calc. The example below exemplifies the issue.

The word I entered: city#1
Calc changed it to: City#1

When I enter: city1, Calc does not make changes.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Type the following in a cell
2. city#1
3. Calc will change it to
4. City#1

Actual Results:
Calc changed my entry from city#1 to City#1

Expected Results:
My entry should have remained as I entered it: city#1

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
Going to Tools > AutoCorrect Options > Options and unchecking the option
"Capitalize first letter of every sentence" seems to stop it; however that
should not be considered the solution since changing this option negatively
affects Writer.

As I'm still dislike this bug a little (running it into once in a while). This
being started one of you're old commits (see bibisect bug 104640)... You being
around currently.

Also to spare Michael. Which mostly try to get interested in this kind of
thing. Except he has enough on his plate right now. I did reported quite a
number of regressions.

So an attempt to get you interested :P. I hope it's something relatively simple
:-). . So only triggering a layout update or something like that...

Indeed this is very weird.

When I originally reported the bug, I posted a video and there you can see that
I do click first and then try to select cells. And this happened multiple times
on multiple files. That's why I recorded it and filed a bug.

But after some time the bug simply disappeared. Even when I use the version
where the bug first appeared, I can't reproduce it any more.

If no one else can reproduce this bug, maybe this bug report should be closed.

I'm sorry that the user can't add items cause the galleries were installed in
system path instead of user path, so you can't add shapes. There was a bug, so
this workaround was needed.

however I hope you enjoy the new galleries.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I could reproduce this.
I suppose extras/source/gallery/gallery_system/shapes.sdg should be modified.

Andreas/Heiko: I don't know how to deal with sdg files.

ICU libs, which LibreOffice keeps current with are the basis for regex support.

Regex syntax like Look-ahead / Look-behind assertions are detailed in the ICU
User Guide as linked in the LibreOffice Help:
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.0/en-US/text/shared/01/0211.html

Recently the ICU project relocated resources, now LO help is linked
incorrectly. Help points to the old ICU User Guide article here:
http://userguide.icu-project.org/strings/regexp

Now located here:

https://unicode-org.github.io/icu/userguide/strings/regexp.html

Not clear the project help article needs to be expanded as the ICU
documentation is comprehensive.

Nope, Module is correct.

LibreOffice (and OpenOffice.org before) is monolithic. The full office
application is composed of functional office modules--Writer (sw), Calc (sc),
Draw/Impress (sd), StarMath Formula editor (sm), Base (reportdesign/dbaccess),
Chart (chart2).

With exception of Chart, each has a configuration and module launcher (GUI or
command line) that exercises the core components of LibreOffice--but it is all
interconnected.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137007] New: Enhancement: Please integrate or replicate the functionality of the "Save As Images" extension directly into draw (with bug fixes)

2020-09-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137007

Bug ID: 137007
Summary: Enhancement: Please integrate or replicate the
functionality of the "Save As Images" extension
directly into draw (with bug fixes)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mwtjunkm...@gmail.com

Description:
This enhancement:
https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/export-as-images

Really helps as a big time saver. It exports all slides in an LO Draw document
all at once into various graphical formats, and I can determine the resolution
of the exports independently of the draw document's dimensions.

I make images that I then wrap around 3-D objects, and this extension, combined
with the slide implementation and vector capabilities in Draw, makes
updates/output a heck of a lot faster thann programs like PS, Paint.net, or
other raster programs that only support building one image per file.

Exporting 40 slides all at once rather than one at a time is a massive time
savings.

The only problem with the "save as images" extension, as useful as it is: it
cannot support transparency with its PNG output function. No matter how many
different ways I set up an LO Draw document to have a transparent background,
Export As Images produces a white background, forcing me to export to PNG each
slide manually to get the transparency.

This problem is not related to any of the transparency issues I've ever logged
against Skia. This was happening before Skia was ever around.

The creator of this extension is long gone. I left a message on the extension's
web page back when 6.4.4. was out if he'd update it. No reply.

I'm therefore raising my hand to say the functionality of this extension is
really good, minus this one really big flaw. I can use Save As Images for
slides with no transparency backgrounds, which I often do, but it's useless if
the backgrounds have any transparency requirements at all.

It also relies on old code libraries, the references to which sometimes break.

It would be awesome if this extension, with the bug fix for recognizing
transparent backgrounds, were integrated directly into Draw.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In Windows LO Draw, add the extension:
https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/export-as-images

2. Create an LO draw document with multiple slides.
3. Uses the Save As Images to export all slides at once.

Actual Results:
Okay as long as the background isn't transparent.

Expected Results:
PNG exports should recognize transparent backgrounds.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Looks like this is 2 different bugs, with and without step 5. With step 5
reproduced in:

Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135085] Form entries and or Label control elements become transparent upon export to PDF.

2020-09-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135085

I found a culprit and a usable workaround/solution!

The issue is triggered when a form Label field makes use of the Cantarel
font...
Changing the font of the label control to some other font makes the label
visible in the exported PDF.

The issue was discovered and documented in Fedora, here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1875377

This is a reoccuring issue and a pain to figure out. If possible, it should be
fixed as the bug causes major headaches for users.

This happens when all the options are selected, not just when there's 1 entry.
For instance, A1-> a, A2-> 1, A3-> 2, A3->3. Autofilter, OK and all of them

I'm removing regression keyword since that was solved.

About not allowing people to lose their comments in enterprise environments, I
guess we could easily extend the solution given to bug #86188 to cover this
situation.
Confirming bug for that case.

Me neither. I'm pretty sure it's like you need to assume the height and width
are equal in appearance. Think about certain math problems that talk about
shapes and how you assume the height and width, as well as angles, are of a
certain value.

I am thinking that it might be an issue with fonts not being embedded in the
exported PDF. I tried downgrading to Still, 6.4 and resetting my user profile.
No change. As in my original post, Opening the PDF in Inkscape and from there
exporting to PDF works. Inkscape has a feature where if when opening a PDF it
finds fonts missing it can replace these fonts with a closest matching font.

I shall continue testing.

I have also tried the following solution:

1. Open Writer
2. Type something
3. Press CTRL+F and search for the word you typed (press enter)
4. Press ESC

The word highlight should remain and the search box should close.

-> Yes, I confirm this.

However, my initial report was actually about step 5:
5. Press CTRL+F again -> Focus on search bar, but present search term not
highlighted (so it can be overwritten)
