[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 129386] Box with slide transitions can't be scrolled in the sidebar in iOS (app version 4.2)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129386 --- Comment #8 from Nicolas Christener --- Technically this issue has been fixed in 6.4.0 (16) - the box is big enough to fit the whole content; there's no need to scroll it. But there are other boxes that are not scrollable - even ones that can have infinite entries. I suggest we close this issue. In parallel I'll add a new issue on GH to have an up to date description. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137989] Bullet Journal style Bullets
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137989 --- Comment #2 from alias...@tutanota.com --- I am referring to different bullets for list level. Give a quick search for "bullet journals" and you'll see exactly what I'm referring to. In a bullet journal the bullets change in a task list on different factors such as completed, high priority, etc. It is a very popular way to journal and usually done in a paper notebook. Unlike a task application a bullet journal is a more detailed way of organizing thoughts, priorities, and anything you want. LibreOffice would be a great application to do it digitally if it had the option to have bullets that could be tweaked. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Thats just because I am new to the code base and I'm trying to understand, how the things work, so that I maybe can find a solution for this issue (this has the first priority). But it still uses drawing methods from the Carbon framework? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138117] Custom toolbar icons rendered small even on option Large and not at all on option Small
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138117 --- Comment #4 from david mccracken --- On further investigation I see that all versions of LO in Windows after 6.0.7.3 screw up user-defined toolbar icons in one way or another by producing bad toolbar image files. I haven't tested any newer releases in Linux. Replacing these with ones produced by version 6.0.7.3 or hand-crafted (I use Gimp) fixes the problem. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113912 --- Comment #5 from QA Administrators --- Dear Emil Tanev, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127423] Font feature dialog: handle OTF features that are enabled by default (liga, calt, kern)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127423 LibreTraining changed: What|Removed |Added CC||libretraining.tutorials@gma ||il.com --- Comment #13 from LibreTraining --- Certain OpenType features are On by default. This is apart of the OpenType specifications not a font setting or a prorgamming choice in the text shaping engine. For example OpenType Standard Ligatures (liga) are On by default. So having a checkbox which adds ":liga" the font name makes no sense. If Standard Ligatures exist, users only option is to disable them. The interface should show that Standard ligatures are On by default. And have a toggle to turn them Off. That toggle to Off should add "-liga" to the font name. Same with OpenType Kerning (kern) - it is On by default. The interface should show that Kerning is On by default. And have a toggle to turn it Off. That toggle to Off should add "-kern" to the font name. Contextual Alternates is On by default. A checkbox to add ":calt" to the font name makes no sense. Being able to turn-off calt makes sense ":-calt" I use that all the time to show the before text for OpenType features. The interface should show that Contextual Alternates is On by default. The same for all other OpenType features which are On by default. Many OpenType features are mutually exclusive. Having multiple check boxes which enables selecting multiple mutually exclusive OpenType features at the same time makes no sense. That is confusing to users. Those mutually exclusive settings should be grouped together and have buttons for each, but only allow selecting one of the group. For example these are mutually exclusive: - Denominators (dnom) - Numerators (numr) - Subscript (subs) - Superscript (sups) - Scientific Inferiors (sinf) Being able to check all these at once makes no sense. Also mutually exclusive: - Tabular Figures (tnum) vs. Proportional Figures (pnum) - Lining Figures (lnum) vs. Oldstyle Figures - Small Capitals (smcp) vs. Petite Capitals (pcap) - etc. etc. ... there are many more Being able to check all these at once makes no sense. Similar settings should be grouped together. Numbers settings, case settings, ligatures (liga, dlig, hlig, rlig, etc.). Access All Alternates (aalt) enabled as a checkbox makes no sense. No user checking that box is going to have any idea of what is happening. The OpenType spec recommends a select list as the interface - which most apps do as it is the only one that makes sense. It is possible to use something like ":aalt=5" but the average user has no idea of what the options are for each character. Unless you look at the actual OpenType code inside the font you have no idea what is possible for that particular font. Not something the average user is going to do. That is confusing to users. The best option is to simply remove it. A very knowledgeable user is going to add it manually anyway. The Fractions style selector does not make sense. Nut fractions do not exist in most fonts and this allows selecting it anyway. That is confusing to users. I don't know if this is some holdover from the Graphite stuff or what. In OpenType ... - Fractions (frac) is for diagonal fractions - Alternative Fractions (afrc) is for stacked or nut fractions The AutoCorrect rules for the legacy Unicode ligatures and fractions can create some confusing interactions with the OpenType ligatures and fractions. Probably good to have a warning somewhere to prevent user confusion. Some fonts have simply removed them to prevent confusion. But many of the fonts included with LO still have the issues. And there are a few other AutoCorrect rules which affect OpenType features. The OpenType specs recommend that certain features not be exposed to users. Users really do not need to see stuff like MarkPositioning (which is hidden). But some features may be useful to turn-off - such as calt. Some of those features may be appropriate to put in a More or Advanced reveal which simplifies the interface to include only the features normally used. Most users should never touch calt so why put it in their face? And on and on and on ... OpenType is complex and this interface could be improved greatly to add some clarity. I offered to help create a better OpenType interface over two years ago. And was met with ignorance combined with arrogance and condescension. So I dropped it. I know a lot about OpenType features and could help improve this LO feature. If a developer would like to work together on this I would be happy to help. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138173] Find and Replace dialog default should other options be closed
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138173 Thomas Lendo changed: What|Removed |Added CC||thomas.le...@gmail.com --- Comment #7 from Thomas Lendo --- This is a difficile issue. In 2017, Bug 111846 was implemented to have a positive wording in all settings and to have no checked option in the default F&R dialog. Then in 2018 with Bug 98544 it was implemented that the F&R dialog should remember the 'other options' state. If something is checked then the dialog should stay open. Also in 2018 the diacritic setting was changed so that it's checked by default. This reversed parts of the initial idea of Bug 111846. I think Bug 98544 must be re-implemented in a smarter way. The F&R dialog should be collapsed at it's first opening. After that the user's choice and/or the checkboxes' status should be considered to decide if it's collapsed or not. If a user or a program function changes a checkbox status then the dialog should open in it's full extent. With this no one will oversee a setting. Overseen settings hidden in the collapsed dialog could harm the search function in a user's point of view. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I have installed 7.0.3 RPMs from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ on 2 test machines that have access to a shared NFS home dir. The problem did not occur. However, these test machines were CentOS 7.8 and not openSUSE Leap. So, as a test, I removed 7.0.3 and installed 6.4.5.2 on those same test machines (as that version has the issue on openSUSE Leap 15.2 (using the RPM provided by openSUSE). 6.4.5.2 did not have the issue either using the RPM from www.libreoffice.org/download (and on CentOS 7.8). So it could either be openSUSE is modifying some code in their RPM repackaging, or an OS layer problem. I am going to try and install 7.0.3 on openSUSE Leap 15.2 using packages from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ as well as the packages that come with openSUSE Tumbleweed (as 15.2 comes with 6.4.5.2). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I expect it is possible, it would need to be integrated into the Elements dock. The SVX Picker GUI could be embedded onto the Element pane (might be a lot of work), or simpler just popup when either the hex or the rgb attribute button is picked. The SVX color picker would allow selection of color from any .SOC palette, or its Custom Color dialog. Either case, would use the HEX color string from the picker as the #RRGGBB hex or the doubled #RGB being inserted/modified in the Formula Editor panel as rendered in the Preview Window. Would not be capable of directly applying a color to a rendered node--just applied via the 'color' [hex|rgb] command. The HTML 4.0 "named colors" would remain in their block on the Attributes panel of the Elements Dock, could reposition the "hex" and "rgb" to another panel, or just add a separator. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124573] Printer extremely slow for each page with anything but normal print setting
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124573 76kenr...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #13 from 76kenr...@gmail.com --- Okay, today I upgraded to version 6.4.7.2, and the problem is, if anything, worse. I began by trying to print a 3-page letter with a piece of clipart at the beginning and end of the letter. Note that I printed this letter with no problem using normal settings just a week ago using the previous version of Libre Office. Today I used the "fast normal" setting for my HP PSC 1410 printer. The printing started immediately, but began by only printing the clipart at the end of the letter, leaving the rest of page 3 blank. Then there was a pause of three minutes and five seconds, after which it began printing page 2 and then continued right into page 1. Page 1 and 2 ended up looking as they should for reduced quality, but as I said, page 3 was blank except for the clipart at the end of what should have been a full page of text. Printing was slow overall, even though it should have been faster than usual. Then I tried printing the document using normal settings. Again it began printing immediately, but again failed to print any of the text on page 3, just printing the ending clipart. It continued right into page 2, then page 1, with no pause, taking 90 seconds for the full document. I then tried with a different 3-page document; this time with no clipart, just a few boldface titles. The first printout, in normal setting, started immediately and ran straight through, finishing all three pages in 55 seconds. But when I tried printing the same document again using the fast normal setting, printing did not start for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. It printed page 3 fairly quickly, then paused for almost four minutes before it began printing page 2. It paused again halfway through the page for one minute, then printed about ten lines and paused again for over three minutes. It hiccuped along like this until it finally finished the three pages in a total of just under 13 minutes. At least all three pages were complete. So, we don't seem to have made any improvement, at least not in v. 6.4.7.2. I'm concerned that this newer version is not even printing as well as the previous version. I'm not sure I want to try the beta 7.1 version, since things seem to be going backward for me. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136119] Spreadsheets shoud not have "infinite" numbers of cells.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136119 --- Comment #3 from Nik Gervae --- Yes, I would like Calc to only show cells I have created, and never automatically add them just because I scroll (adding because of pasted data is expected of course). Google sheets open with 26 columns and 1000 rows. But 100x100 as a new sheet size also seems reasonable, as long as I can delete unwanted columns and rows. As for how Apple Numbers does things, well that's different again: It allows you to create multiple sheets on a single tab, whereas Excel, Google Sheets, and LibreOFfice Calc all make a tab == a sheet. I would love to have things the way Apple Numbers works, it allows a lot more flexibility in layout and modeling, but for now I just want my sheets to be bounded to the number of columns & rows I want so I can scroll to the end and not get lost. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Install "Docker Desktop for Windows" on Windows 1903 or higher 2. Intall LibreOffice portable to "C:\LibreTmp\Libre7" ; create file "C:\LibreTmp\sample.docx" (sample file to convert) 3. Run "Windows Server Core 1903" container in "interactive mode" with mounted tmp folder: C:\> docker run -it --entrypoint powershell -v "C:\LibreTmp\:C:\LibreTmp" mcr.microsoft.com/dotnet/framework/runtime:4.8-windowsservercore-1903 3. Run conversion for any document (in my case I used "sample.docx" and convert it to pdf) in container: C:\> mkdir c:\user\env C:\> mkdir c:\user\profile C:\> $env:USERPROFILE = "C:\user\profile" C:\> Start-Process "C:\LibreTmp\App\libreoffice\program\soffice.exe" -argumentlist "--convert-to pdf --outdir C:\LibreTmp\ C:\LibreTmp\sample.docx" -wait C:\> dir C:\LibreTmp\ 4. As a result there is no converted document (c:\LibreTmp\sample.pdf) because Libre Office crashed in strange way.. 5. Exit and shutdown container C:\> exit If you run above operations using "Windows Server Core 1809" container everything will work perfectly. To check just change step "3" to: C:\> docker run -it --entrypoint powershell -v "C:\LibreTmp\:C:\LibreTmp" mcr.microsoft.com/dotnet/framework/runtime:4.8-windowsservercore-ltsc2019 Actual Results: Libre Office crashed, there is no converted document Expected Results: there is converted document as result of operation. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: LibreOffice crashed without any logfile.. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138122] LibreOffice font blurry on MacBook Pro's Internal HiDPI Retina Display running macOS Big Sur 11.0.1
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138122 --- Comment #44 from Telesto --- (In reply to Samuel Mehrbrodt (CIB) from comment #43) > (In reply to Telesto from comment #41) > > Solving this particular problem maybe not the best investment. Even if this > > would solve the issue here. > > Please don't keep contributors from working on what they think is worth it. > Thanks! Everybody should work on thing they see think is worth it. Totally true. Not intending to discourage/scare off people to do what they think being they right thing to do. However I found it necessary to put the case in slightly broader perspective/context. A kind of 'inform'. At least that was my intension. I admit having some political reasons. They pressure to implement Skia with HiDPI functioning within tolerance, font being OK, and image in table not lagging simply less. So they short term fix here will of course delay further improvement, until the next big issues appears. While lots smaller flaws - nobody gonna fix for macOS specifically - kept, in my perception, unnecessary around. [They would simply disappear with Skia, based on my limited knowledge on they topic]. And for they next big issue related to rendering they whole process starts again. Solving they issue at hand or patch they specific problem. The whole cycle can go on for a while. And every fix-up will being costly business too :-(. Looks cheaper for the 'actual fix'. But pricey solution in the long run as they big overhaul must happen anyhow someday some time (How much time did Stephan/Tor spend on they now broken hack). And they developer budget and the number of available developers for macOS being nearly 0. macOS edition simply lifting with they Linux version. Most of they macOS backend is old barely maintained OoO . As long as it works within tolerance margins, it works. Ain't broke don't fix :-). So in long term sense perceive Skia better solution. It's simply a conflicting message for the short term. Caught between a rock and a hard place. In they worst case this bug kept open for months/years, because they needed 'pressure' build-up not being enough even with this bug open. Surely not the first time people had to wait. They love for macOS isn't that big. It's really a niche product. They whole thing is still running thanks to Tor spending time on it. In part in the role of being employee and a part in his free time (if i'm up to speed) In my perception Skia will remove some of the maintainment burden. However it's an investment up front. Anyhow, my 2 cents. Fixing they bug here will make quite bunch of people happy :-). In a few weeks they CC will explode to 50 people or so.. All having a actual/current problem. And care obviously - and surely not without reason - less about they long term strategy, but want a fix for current problem asap. And speaking about strategy kind of tricky in a world where this doesn't exist, as - TDF - being a project. However not necessarily most efficient, but they same hold true for strategic thinking. COVID ruined lots of long term strategic (business) visions (number of new cars sold) and while speeding up changes in other area's (say working from home) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
