[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138848] New: Copy-and-Paste in input box should not append an ENTER character

2020-12-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138848

Bug ID: 138848
Summary: Copy-and-Paste in input box should not append an ENTER
character
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: suokunl...@126.com

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Input some content in a cell (e.g., "abc");
2. Select the cell and ctrl+C;
3. Paste in input boxes such as the ctrl+F find box, using ctrl+V.

Current Result:
"abc"

Expected Result:
"abc" without ENTER character.

The appended ENTER char is useless and each time I paste in the search box I
need to manually delete it which is really a waste of time.

Minimized example file

This example (2 pages in Word 2013, 8 in Writer) shows better what happens in
this file:
- there is a first page with a huge top margin - originally 26 cm (I reduced
this to 24 in my example), together with the bottom one leaving only a tiny
space for the document body.
- the document body on this page contains only one line and a continuous
section break
- the latter is imported incorrectly, making the huge top margin extend to the
second page. Since this leaves very tiny space to display all the text on the
second page, a lot of new pages are inserted in Writer.
- the page break at the end of the second page is imported correctly, after
that it's mostly okay.

This is still a problem in:

The entire UNO documentation and the global language settings distinguish
between human language and locale for numeric expressions. But in the user
interface everything is language. Language and locale describe different things
and should be labeled accordingly, possibly with a short explanation in the
help files.

Example file from Writer

When changes in margin mode is enabled, consecutive character deletions are not
unified into a single redline entry, but are tracked separately.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Have some text in a Writer document
2. Enable change tracking whil changes in margin mode is also enabled
3. Delete some word with multiple pressing of Backspace, another with
Delete
4. Open the Manage Changed dialog

Actual results:
Each character deletion is a separate redline entry.

Expected results:
One entry for each consecutive deletion sequence.

This is good in a recent master build, closing as WFM. LO 7.2.0.0.alpha0+
(561e5559bb68242c7f785f0ca3bee3eb12b58963) / Windows.

I noticed the underlying issue, the particular sidebar font was there because
if you select the text box itself (opposed to clicking into the text box as in
the original description), the font in the picker is shown as Calibri, while
it's Comic Sans MS in PowerPoint.

2020-12-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138846

Bug ID: 138846
Summary: Add label to "Settings" button in Template Manager and
change label to "Categories"
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sdc.bla...@youmail.dk

Summary says it all.

Reasons:

1. No label on icon creates a problem for screen readers (see bug 115847)
2. Dropdown menu has nothing to do with settings, and everything to do with
Categories

Hello, I've restarted LibreOffice into safe mode to test if this was a user

code had been given in terminal.

Pro: makes clear what "criterion" is used in filter
Con: looks ugly

Maybe this form is cleaner -- and some (most?) users will/can ignore the first
part of the line, while others might find the .ot* to be useful.

Description:
UI: Label "type" & Image in the image properties dialog not really helpful
(self-explaining)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a file with image attachment 168083
2. Right click it -> Properties

Actual Results:
The tabs 'Type' and 'Image' not really helpful. Not sure how 'type' fit the
content of the tab. And calling a tab 'Image' within an image dialog?. Which is
partly about flipping/rotating..

Expected Results:
No clear cut proposal. This is 'literally' an enhancement request (but without
alternative proposition).

There is already a bug for duplicate settings (bug 132853).

The image tab matches the "Position and size" section in the sidebar. So maybe
position and size? Or Size en orientation? And moving "Link file name" in Image
to "options"

Type tab could be something like "anchoring & position". However some
similarity between sidebar & tab structure maybe desired.

Prefer first some getting some feedback if my report is resonating at all :P

Yes

More specific. I would be inclined to interpret "save" as store (as loseless).
I tend to see current implementation actually as export behaviour (depending of
file format). Even svg imaged are transformed (and save currently even break
things)

Extracting is the zip is not that conveniened.. not user friendly and kind of
technical.. Also not everybody is aware of impact of reconversion. Or needing
that.

And currently jpg export dialog not working properly (but that's more short
sighted argument (on state of instead of the long term vision). Pain point
especially dpi suggestion based on screen resolution. But in any case still
reconversion..
