[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139217] New: Text cursor shows and disappears after slide changes, and editible text item being focused

2020-12-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139217

Bug ID: 139217
Summary: Text cursor shows and disappears after slide changes,
and editible text item being focused
   Product: LibreOffice Online
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: f...@nd.com.cn

When switching to new slide, and trying to click and focus a text item, you
will find the cursor shows but disappears very quickly. It appears it has
something to do with a "cursorvisible: false" is being sent everytime after
"invalidatecursor" which hides the cursor activated by the previous
"cursorvisible: true".

1) cursorvisible: true

2) invalidatecursor:
{viewId: "0", rectangle: "4393, 3880, 0, 431", mispelledWord: "0"}

3) cursorvisible: false

This becomes quite annoying on mobile as the onscreen keyboard shows and
disappears.

What seems to be the logic behind the "cursorvisible: false" right after
"invalidatecursor" as "invalidatecursor" redraws the cursor on screen and it
works well. Would it be safe to simply drop the "cursorvisible: false"?

I tried changing the font from Arial to Gentium Plus, but the behavior did not
change. And with the DejaVu Sans font - everything is fine - the stress on the
letter is put in one copy.

if in the attached file, after the first character "и́" press the key
combination Alt + X, and then press Alt + X again, then the accent on the first
letter "и́" will change the appearance and become similar to the second letter
"и́". To return the display of the accent on the first letter to its original
form, press Ctrl + Z twice.

Dear pubpedro,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Editing formula inline is an experimental feature, and is only possible to do
if you have that enabled.

I could reproduce the crash in 7.0.0.3 / Ubuntu, but not in 7.1.0.0.beta1+
(e2cffcf55b04838abc7497f6c18518c7600b670b), closing as WFM.

2020-12-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Summary: Cannot amend a bug report. Cannot upload any files.
Cannot sabe there amendments
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.4 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sratcliffjo...@mac.com

Description:
Cannot amend my bug report - cannot upload any files, cannot commit/save any
amendments. Get message to say I am attempting something from the wrong place
- attempt to upload the imported file fails also at this level.

It looks like you didn't come from the right page (you have no valid token for
the create_attachment action while processing the 'attachment.cgi' script). The
reason could be one of:
You clicked the "Back" button of your web browser after having successfully
submitted changes, which is generally not a good idea (but harmless).
You entered the URL in the address bar of your web browser directly, which
should be safe.
You clicked on a URL which redirected you here without your consent, in which
case this action is much more critical.
Are you sure you want to commit these changes anyway? This may result in
unexpected and undesired results.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.I have mo idea of the version - I have the recommended Libre Office version
for Mac
3.

Actual Results:
This is all FAR TOO HARD! If this is what life will be like in this world I
think I will stick with Apple.

Expected Results:
You are coming from the wrong place. !

Reproducible: Always

Using the STR from comment 0, I can reach the corresponding "General Glossary"

However here the page scrolls fine.

Nick, are you sure your local help is up-to-date? How did you install it? If
you don't know or are not sure, please install the matching (7.0.3) version of
help, either from TDF offical packages at

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139216] New: Index bookmarks listed under wrong module

2020-12-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139216

Bug ID: 139216
Summary: Index bookmarks listed under wrong module
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ming.v@qq.com
CC: olivier.hal...@libreoffice.org

Description:
While trying to work on another bug about Help I noticed a strange thing. For
both my local offline 7.1 and online 7.2 help, the search box for indices on
the left part of the help page would put certain bookmarks/keywords in the
wrong module.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any offline help page, or go to https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/ which
will be redirected to
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/en-US/text/shared/05/new_help.html ;
2. Type "toolbar" in the Index search box at the left;
3. See that "fixing toolbars", "placing toolbars", "toolbars --
viewing/closing" and many other entries listed under "BASIC" module. However,
they all link to page
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/en-US/text/shared/guide/floating_toolbar.html
and should be listed in "GLOBAL" instead;
4. Similarly, "curves -- toolbar" is also listed in "BASIC", and should be in
"IMPRESS" instead since it links to
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/en-US/text/simpress/02/1008.html . On the
other hand, "toolbars -- curves" is in the correct "IMPRESS" module and links
to the same page.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139200] A large part of the window may appear off-screen if the monitor/screen config has changed

2020-12-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139200

Currently I can't test to reproduce with a change of screen definition, but I
believe that the following steps will trigger the issue:

1. On a machine with a high-definition screen connected, run "libreoffice".
2. Maximize the window (to have a better chance to reproduce the issue).
3. Quit LibreOffice.
4. Log out and switch off the machine.
5. Connect a screen with a lower definition (for a laptop, it could just be the
laptop screen, with no external monitor attached).
6. Boot and log in.
7. Run "libreoffice".

I suppose that LibreOffice doesn't detect the change of screen definition and
uses the same window size, which doesn't fit in the screen after the change of
monitor.

Actually, I could do a test by artificially resizing a window to make it larger
than the current screen definition, but I don't know whether this test is
significant or just too artificial (I just have my laptop with its 3200x1800
screen, and no external monitors here, so that I cannot test a change of the
screen definition). In case this matters, my window manager is FVWM.

What is surprising is that the position has changed completely, with large
parts in the negatives, which makes them completely inaccessible. I think this
is what makes this bug worse: in addition to the issue that the window doesn't
fit in the screen after a change of monitor, the new startup position also
makes the window hardly controllable.

I couldn't find an existing bug with the same or a similar issue.

Well issue is there with the RC1 release. But, poor quality of the SVG
rendering seems a more general case, so will dupe rather than reopen.

Unfortunate. MS Word will search either quote format seamlessly without a

Still a problem in 7.2alpha (latest master).

I can select most combinations in Timur's example, but in the "SelectBug.odt"
example it is not possible to copy the bottom two rows into another table

No, I'm not volunteering to code it, but speaking as someone who has done a lot
of development over the past three decades, I would think the out-and-back for
non-odt format would be the easiest thing. You would just be gluing together
things already in place.

Yes, you could have a difficult time telling whether out or in was what went
off the rails, but at least one would have a heads up about the potential
problem.

Please see comment 13 - the preview DOCX save/export might be something to
consider. Maybe even useful for automatic testing

2020-12-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138694

A DOCX preview certainly a nice function. Currently you have to Save an ODT as
DOCX followed by File-Reload. The badness only shows up after reload.. so you
can save 20x to DOCX while editing.. without knowing the result being screwed.

As long you're editing mode - and LibO doesn't crash - you're still able to
save ODT properly

A preview would make it possible to see how LibreOffice would render to DOCX.
Not warranty what will happen on MSO side. Import and export code are separate
things. Export wrong resulting in import wrong..
Or Import good at LibO but broken at MSO.
Or Export is OK (LibO/MSO), but only import at LibreOffice wrong.

Or just owning up to the fact it no-worky.

The biggest problem is the unseen corruption. The file doesn't go out and then
come back in in a different tab so one could see just how jacked up things
were. For small files this would be okay. For 800+ page books like some of mine
that might be an issue for a few machines. Certainly not the ones I write on.
The smallest one has 8Gig with most having 16-24Gig of RAM.

Perhaps the out and back in would the the "middle ground?" One could at least
"see" how jacked up things got while there was still an internal ODT version
that could be saved as ODT. Not really a "solution" but better than the nothing
you have after being lead down the primrose path of Save-As without any
indication of a problem, then exiting.

The out and back might also be a useful tool for developers as they can try
various things and see right away when something gets jacked up.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138694] FORMATTING: Docx file looks good on screen and prints but fails to reload

> Right now LO has a File->Save-As that lets one choose the format. If it
> can't do it right, then it shouldn't do it. Should only allow Save in ODT
> and only export to other formats __after__ saving an ODT.

The DOC/DOCX save quality is somewhere in the middle ground. Pretty OK for
simple documents.. but changes with complex documents under circumstances..

Also there is the function mismatch. So LibreOffice ODT support things which
DOCX can't do. So these get converted/transported in to something which matches
DOCX specifications.

Export instead as direct save would be by far more realistic, IMHO. It's not
only about 'fully supporting' DOCX format (not the case). But also LibreOffice
not having the same function set. So it will never 'fit'/match exactly the DOCX
specifications.

However there number of different views about that.. So say DOCX export being
good enough.. and there is a warning dialog at save (which can be dismissed)..
Also there is proposed a way make clear what the incompatibility's are. But
pretty complex and likely even an pretty long list.

In my world.. DOCX will be imported (silently converted to ODT) and saved as
ODT. Only File -> Export to DOCX/ODT/RTF. (Like Apple Pages).

And there is a group who like to 'read the manual' approach. You got a tool,
which behaves a certain. You have to learn to use it. Even if the tool putting
things straight into your face which you shouldn't do at all. Personally bit
more of nudging/teaching application. So me +1 'Export' instead of direct save.

But this might be less comfortable for some.. and people not familiar with the
concept can't find DOCX anymore. Or people disliking not being able to directly
save into DOCX (more cumbersome) Or Export being seen as lack of
trustworthiness in DOCX/DOC. Kind of 'degradation'.

Current approach is to keep people in the illusion the can safely save into
DOCX/DOC (without any compromise). And kind of scoffing at those who do and
start complaining about something being broken. People should make backups..
people shouldn't save directly into DOCX etc..

Solutions would be.. sidecar (with double save. ODT/DOCX). Or Export. But of
course matter of file management comes into play. Multiple documents on you're
system (DOCX/ODT).. Which one is the one (especially if DOCX is shared with
Word users.. and send back etc).

So at minimum a setting must be in place to restore the 'current' behavior.
However this should be deliberate choice less advised (to be used at own risk)

Bug ID: 139212
Summary: On using cut function on a cell and later deleting
that cell , the highlight shifts but the cut content
remains unchanged.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.0.1 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: singhtomarprince...@gmail.com

Created attachment 168472
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=168472&action=edit
Deleted A3('b') and Cut highlight moved to the cell that took b's place but on
pasting it still pasted 'b' not 'c'.

Reproduce:
1) Cut/Copy content of a cell, after this delete that cell.
2) The Cut/Copy highlight shifts to the new cell which takes deleted cell's
place.
3) But on pasting, The content of deleted cell is getting pasted.
