Tried to type anything in the textbox, which appears in step 2 of the wizard. The first character will be typed, but no more characters will appear. This doesn't happen in LO 6.4.5.2, so a regression. You have to press the button "Browse" to see all the databases in odbc.ini. Open the file with a zip program. Look for forms/Obj71/content.xml. This is the form "units". Look for office:version. It is set to 1.3, but with LO 6.4.7.2 you could only write files with office:version 1.2 Change it to 1.2 and save the file. Seems there is nobody else interested in this bug, because there are not many people, who will edit a form in LO 7.*, which saves files in office:version 1.3, and switch back to LO 6.+ to edit this files again there. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100686] UI: Impress shows incorrect font family in the Sidebar and style dialog (in 75% of the cases)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100686 --- Comment #13 from Aron Budea --- The root of the issue is that the style has one font, and the other is set via direct formatting. This can be confirmed by clearing direct formatting over the text. There are two cases: - if the text box is selected, - if the user is editing text within the text box. 1. If the text box is selected, it shows the font coming from the style in: the sidebar, the Character dialog, the Text Formatting toolbar and the style editor dialog. 2. If the cursor is in the text box, or text is selected in the text box, Impress shows the expected font in the various selectors (except the style one of course). In the past it did show the other font in the sidebar, which is now fixed (bug 121933 has a few details). My two cents is that if the whole text box is formatted with a different font, it shouldn't show the font from the style when the text box is selected. In addition, it doesn't seem to follow the usual practice that text with mixed fonts, when selected, should show empty entry in the font picker. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139237] New: Convert to pdf on command line generates wrong pdf.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139237 Bug ID: 139237 Summary: Convert to pdf on command line generates wrong pdf. Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: h...@deragon.biz Created attachment 168495 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=168495&action=edit ODT source file. libreoffice --headless --convert-to pdf --outdir . file.odt ...will generate file.pdf which will not visually match file.odt. However, if from LibreOffice GUI one uses File -> Export As -> Export Directly as PDF, the generated output file is ok. I expect the same output on the command line than in the GUI. The file contains an embedded Calc spreadsheet which is the source of the problem. If it is removed, the output is the same. It used to work very well a year ago. You should at least set the grid color to black to make the dots better visible. And it helps to make the main grid for example 0.5mm and the spaces to 5. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139178] The shape dashes are rendered differently after docx export (creating different effect)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139178 --- Comment #4 from Regina Henschel --- The shapes are indeed different. The Smiley from the toolbar in LO reflects the geometry from MSO binary. These binary shapes are not directly available in OOXML. So LibreOffice has two options: A) Map it to a similar shape available in the preset shapes of OOXML, or B) convert it to a custom geometry. Currently option A) is used for the smiley. On import the preset shape of OOXML is kept, because the file has no information, that it was in original a shape from MS binary format. The MSO binary geometry has the start point at the left of the shape, the OOXML preset shape has it at the right of the shape. The line is drawn clockwise. Dashing starts with a dash at the start point. To get the same in ODT as in DOCX, you need to start with an OOXML shape. I consider this a "Wont fix". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

All other places but line width of the Sidebar use the unit, which was set in Tools > Options > Draw > General > Settings > 'Unit of measurment:' when the document was last saved. The unit is a property of the document in Draw. We might allow a smaller unit of same kind, examples: general unit "meter"-> line width "centimeter", general unit "inch"-> line width "point". But even for that I would prefer to do it not automatically. There exists a request of line width in "pt" for Writer: bug 134448. There exists a similar report bug 105176, which was -I think wrongly- resolved as duplicate to bug 72662. Reading several reports, I think it might be necessary to distinguish between Writer and Draw/Impress. Line width in "pt" or not needs to be discussed in UX team. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139236] New: Enhancement suggestion: if a document has a title, the default name for saving should not be "Untitled 1" but based on the title
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139236 Bug ID: 139236 Summary: Enhancement suggestion: if a document has a title, the default name for saving should not be "Untitled 1" but based on the title Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.3.6.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mark.aitchi...@chch.planet.org.nz Description: When it comes to saving a document for the first time, and the author has already entered a title (or heading), a more appropriate name than something starting with "Untitled" should be suggested, based on the words in the title, perhaps with options controlled by the user's Load/Save Options and/or the template used to create the document that might limit the length of the title, remove spaces or "small" words, etc. The reasons would be two-fold: to save some typing (recognising the document is not "untitled"!), and to allow a consistent naming convention for documents to make them easier to recognise by file name long afterwards. The ideal would be to have the title (or specified field in a spreadsheet) and/or date and/or document properties take part in suggesting the file name and directory for saving to disk, controlled by the user's Options and potentially set in a template used to create the document. For example, in a busy office where different people may create, or later search for, documents: using "standard" file naming systems that make it clear what file corresponds to a reply of a certain type to a customer made in a particular month about a certain type of product would be much better than dealing with ad-hoc document naming strategies of various people which require searching through many documents. Another example might be somebody writing, say, poetry that uses a template for that and wants poems to be stored in a directory tree just for that, which includes the year as a subdirectory name and the title as the document name. Or a project worked on by several people, where each persons contributions might be stored in one folder but will have their user name appended until some editor collates and approves all their work to make the final document. In the case of spreadsheets: I very often have to create spreadsheets that need to have document names following a particular system based on the date (which will be the same as, although in a different format to, a particular field in the spreadsheet). As an example from this of what a good templating and documation system should be able to do: when I create new spreadsheet from this template (preferably by double-clicking on an icon on my desktop) it should pop up a request to enter two fields, the first one being a valid date (e.g. "23rd December 2020" or any valid date that is automagically converted into that format), that becomes part of the filename (e.g. "Analysis of thingees 2020-12-23.ods", using something like a "sprintf" or "PRINT USING" somehow in the template), and the date of the Sunday previous to that date should be used to create the default value for the second prompted question (e.g. "20/12/2020"), and when okayed, these fields should go into specific fields of the new spreadsheet, as well as defining the filename for the next "Save". Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new document 2. start typing text, including something with a paragraph style of "Title" 3. Save Actual Results: notice it defaults to a file name that is rudely said to be untitled when you've gone to the effort of giving it a title! Expected Results: A default filename based on the title Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: By the way: This bug description form is not very good for entering enhancement requests, because some fields here seem to be required that make little sense in the context of an enhancement suggestion. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

For formats missing the \defchp as the sample document here we need to add the 1\6th em U+2006 additional space on import. Apparently that is not the case with this "generated" RTF. If I delete all the extra \u2006 1/6th em spacing added by the RTF import filter (for see also bug 123703 [1]) the formatting with a mon0-sapce font substitution at 10pt (Courier New or Consolas) fits to the single page with formatting matching the PDF. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139226] LibreOffice Windows starting slower?
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139226 --- Comment #2 from Aron Budea --- I compared startup times to the start center in Windows between LO 7.1.0.1, 7.0.0.3 and 7.0.4.2 after initializing with an empty profile. Rendering is Skia/Raster. 7.0.0.3 and 7.1.0.1 have roughly the same result, close to 5.3s, while 7.0.4.2 can start up slightly below 5s: 4.9s or so. That's perhaps 0.5s of difference. On a side note, 6.0.0.3 starts up in 4.1-4.2s.
