[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139947] Loaded PDF has not recognized Microsoft truetype fonts (ttf-mscorefonts-installer)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139947 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #1 from V Stuart Foote --- This is expected when the Draw filter import of PDF reads out the font names as recorded. It does not occur when the PDF is inserted--different filter, that just reads the layout of the PDF and renders to image. But a simple to work around when filter importing to Draw if there is a font with close metrics actually installed on the system. Obviously the font you need is in MS Core Fonts (ttf-mscorefonts) as "Times New Roman". Just use the Tools -> Options -> Fonts replacement table to assign an existing font for the fontname as recorded in the PDF and listed in the Properties deck for a text selection. I.e. for a PDF text run listing "TimesNewRoman" that is not available on system and so shows in italics just substitute "Times New Roman" with is with the MS Core Fonts. Likewise for "TimesNewRomanPS". Alternatively the Liberation Serif fonts should closely match metrics, and you can use those as replacement as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I will not close this bug, because I want UX Team to analize if could be possible as Grid Lines to be visibile even on a different background color, like borders are. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139956] New: FORMATTING : Cell border omitted when cell filled with background colour
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139956 Bug ID: 139956 Summary: FORMATTING : Cell border omitted when cell filled with background colour Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.3.1 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: stevepattin...@hotmail.com This might be a bug. Might equally be a design decision. I find it irritating. All cells have a border: either the default is displayed or the user-specified border is displayed. But, when a cell is filled with a background colour, the default border is omitted. As a consequence, the filled cell becomes "frameless" and looks disconnected from the surrounding cells. Steps to create: 1. Create a new sheet. Notice how all cells are framed by the default border. 2. Select a cell somewhere in the middle of the sheet. Ctrl-1 3. Select Background. 4. Select Light Lime 3 (or any "light" colour) 5. Click on OK 6. Deselect the filled cell by clicking on any other cell You will now notice that all the surrounding "touching" cells have their touching border omitted. This is NOT the case if the colour-filled cell had a user-specified border and is therefore inconsistent. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 79787] Normal cell borders are showing dashed/dotted when export to xlsx/xls and reopen in MSO
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79787 --- Comment #52 from Rafael Lima --- Created attachment 169205 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=169205&action=edit Screenshots of both files opened on Excel I would like to share a brief experiment I did to explain why I think the compatibility of borders between Calc and Excel can be improved. What I did is: 1) I created a file on Calc (ODS) with a table formatted with the default borders. I saved it as ODS (see file Border_Test.ods attached) 2) Then I exported the ODS file to XLSX (see file Border_Test.xlsx attached) 3) I opened the exported XLSX file on Excel and the border is dashed/dotted 4) I opened the ODS file on Excel (Office 365 can open ODS files) and the borders were normal, as expected. I attached a file Border_Calc_Excel.odg with screenshots from steps 3 and 4. If Excel can open an ODS file and convert border information as expected, than I believe that it is possible to have Calc save the XLSX file in a way that the border won't appear dashed on Excel. I had the same results using both LO 7.0.4.2 and 7.2 alpha (daily builds). I'd like to point out that this is a major compatibility issue between Calc and Excel. Anyone formatting their tables with default borders on Calc and saving as XSLX will experience this problem. I use Calc in my lectures all the time and then, when I export to XSLX, I have to fix all my borders manually before sending the files to anyone. Fixing this bug will be a great contribution to the compatibility between ODS and XLSX files. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Writer > Format > Bullets and Numbering... Tab "Position", values "Aligned at", "tab stop at", "Indent at": all steps by 0.01 cm 2. Writer > Format > Image > Properties... Tab "Crop", Values "Crop": "Left", "Top", "Right", "Bottom" all step by 5 % of initial size on the image. 3. Calc > Format > Cells... Tab "Borders" > "Left", "Right", "Top", "Bottom", "Distance" all show "mm" unit and step by 0.5 mm 4. Draw > Format > Bullets and Numbering... "Indent" and "Width" all use 0.05 cm (I added this one as it wasn't already listed and I came across it while testing) Number 2 and 3 I believe both need separate bug reports if you think they need fixing, as they are special cases and might require more discussion. Number 1 and 4 I intend to patch myself, using a value of 0.1 cm to be consistent with the vast majority of steppers. There might definitely be more cases that need fixing, but moving forward, once number 1 and 4 are fixed, new specific bug reports should be opened as they will be more focused and easier to close. As mentioned, when copying and pasting from the document exhibiting the bug into a new document (copied the bullet points and anchor for the frame so the frame and contents were selected and pasted into a table created in a new document) the bug no longer was evident. Now if I do the reverse, and copy the content described above from the document no longer showing the bug back into a newly inserted page in the original document with the bug with inserted 3 column table then the bug is evident in this newly pasted content. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139949] New: Nesting up of sections when going from odt to html and back
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139949 Bug ID: 139949 Summary: Nesting up of sections when going from odt to html and back Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.4.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: philippe.verk...@univ-lille.fr Description: I want to prepare a Latin text with the corresponding vocabulary and grammatical comments on the same page, with LO writer in order to have the possibility of post editing. Text, vocab-list and comments are prepared by other programs. To do that I prepare a template with three sections: one for the text, the second for the vocab-list and the last. Then I repeat that group of three sections on the next page. To fill easily the sections, I convert the odt template to a html and recognize the tags ... and etc... where I have to put my text, vocab and comments. Then, the last easy step consists in loading the html file into LO Writer and save as odt. It works apparently fine. EXCEPT that the sections are now NESTED. The third one is a sub-section of the second. The fourth one and the fifth one are sub-sections of the third. And the last one is a sub-section of the fifth. This is the case with two pages, i.e. six sections. What will happen with 100 pages ? Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a odt file with three sections, in the attached example they are called "Texte", "Grammaire" and "Definitions" (the text has a single column format, while the two others have two columns). Copy these three sections at the end of the document, they become "Section1", "Section2" and "Section3". The structure of the sections is flat (see Sections_in_template.png). Save that odt for reference. 2. Save as html this same file. Close that window. 3. Re-open the html file. Almost every thing seems OK (except for the header and the footer that are not present on each page, but it is easily restored). But looking at the structure of the sections they appear NESTED (see Back_in_Writer.png), as if a closing tag has escaped to the detection. Actual Results: Nested sections (see Back_in_Writer.png). As if the html file contained ... ... while it contains ... ... Expected Results: The same flat structure of the sections as in the original odt file (see Sections_in_template.png) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: As I save from odt to html and open again the html file in LO writer (even doing nothing in between), I expect a structure of the sections similar to the original one. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
