Daniel, that tone is not welcome here, please refrain from it in the future.
Also, this bug report does not involve FODS format, therefore what you are
seeing is different (somewhat similar to bug 117671 / bug 108244, but a bit
different from those as well). Let's keep this issue closed, you can open a new
bug report with your steps.

Dear j_mach_wust,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

OK those were all the simple steps, next would be to obtain a back trace. It
will work better against the 7.1 builds compared to against master/7.2 because
the symbols are fully published for the release builds, but it is involved to
get set up. Steps are here:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg

It is a hassle but it would really help to isolate the component causing the
crashes on your system. Unfortunately the generic !analyze -v (or !analyze -f)
command will often not resolve, and you have to use a "~* kp" to list the stack
with symbols for all the threads to tease out the call(s) causing the crash.

A local WinDbg run can do a more complete stack trace than what is submitted by
the automated mini-dump based crash reporting mechanism, which you have already
reported against the generic mergedlo.dll.

The whole WinDbg tool can be a challenge.

Spreadsheet opened prior to crash being experienced

It happened here, too, in the same situation - just open calc and close it
again.
https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/5e8227d5-0310-4f72-8fd0-7ec7aa11f208

I had, however, previously opened the attached document and clicked through all
the tabs, in case it matters. This was the crash from that instance:
https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/373be4ee-4131-4254-9770-f3cfa0d397c2

This is, deliberately (because it's smaller) the 32-bit version on 64-bit
Windows.

I don't think it should really crash whatever the profile is. It appears to be
happening at process cleanup, not loading the profile.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86725] Comments disappearing

2021-05-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86725

Ok, I have a minimal example to reproduce the bug:

1.) create a new spreadsheet
2.) select a cell A1, and enter the number 42 in it.
3.) add a comment to the cell: "The answer to everything". (keep the comment
hidden, the bug only seem to happen with hidden comments)
4.) save the document in .fods format
5.) reload the document with File > Reload,
6.) verify that the comment is still there!
7.) create another sheet, select a cell, and enter the formula: =$Sheet1.A1*12
8.) save the document
9.) reload the document with File > Reload
10.) verify that the comment is still there!
11.) update the cell with the referencing formula on Sheet2 and change the
formula to =$Sheet1.A1*13
12.) save the document
13.) reload the document with File > Reload
14.) verify that the comment is fucking gone on Sheet1!!!

The key thing seems to be that once a relationship is established between two
sheets, and then it is updated (by adding more references, or changing some of
the formulas), then the comments get removed from the referenced sheet.

The fucking bug is there! You even have a fucking Q page for it:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/96934/comments-disappearing-in-libre-office-writer/

It doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes entries get
removed when saving in .fods format. Not doing anything special, just changing
some formulas, saving, reloading... comments gone!

This bug is 5+ years old, and obviously nobody has bothered to have a fucking
look at it. The question shouldn't be why nobody has given the specific steps
to reproduce it. The bug obviously exist! Rather, where have you guys looked
where you are sure the annotations don't get removed upon saving? Then look at
the places where haven't!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142034] New: Selecting (single left-click) cell enters edit mode directly when compose character on keyboard was struck beforehand

2021-05-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142034

Bug ID: 142034
Summary: Selecting (single left-click) cell enters edit mode
directly when compose character on keyboard was struck
beforehand
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: and...@asiplas.net

Description:
Calc, when the compose key (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compose_key) has been
pressed, will directly start editing a cell on single-click.

Reproduce:

It's not clear this is desired behavior—this occurs even long periods after
compose key has been struck but not used.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Press «compose» key on keyboard (or bind to an alternate key and use that),
but don't press any further key—leave OS waiting for 2nd/3rd keystroke to
compose the character.
2. Single-click any cell in calc from an idle (but not read-only) state.

Actual Results:
Calc enters edit mode right away, navigating away by further click on another
cell results in cell contents cleared.

Expected Results:
Editing a cell would require a double click, clicking outside the cell would
*NOT* clear the contents—pending character from before-the-fact should not
clear cell contents not explicitly edited by user.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Held the compose event until getting a further keystroke, e.g. if compose
character is pending, wait for the '/' and 'c' keystrikes to make the ¢ (cent)
mark, for example, and don't enter edit until complete character is received.

At least don't interpret a keystrike from 10 minutes earlier as input upon
clicking a cell.

I don't know where the various restrictions are coming from, but perhaps it's
worth thinking about what's needed so an LO version in the Mac app store can

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131025] Writer document with tables lost data in cells (apparently) replacing with 0

2021-05-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131025

I wrote a series of blog posts to explain how I fixed the corruption resulting
from this bug in my LibreOffice document. It involves opening the OpenDocument
archive file, and using XSLT, so I spread the explanation over four blog posts.
Hopefully it can help others with tables corrupted by this bug.

"How to fix table contents turned to “0” in LibreOffice"
http://blog.jdlh.com/en/2021/04/30/fix-libreoffice-table-turned-to-0/
This is the overview, and links to other blog posts to explain techniques.

the method I used to fix this is:

1. Open up the working copy of the OpenDocument file, following the
instructions in my earlier blog, "How to crack open LibreOffice .ODT documents
for fun and bug fixing"
. The result is a
directory containing XML and other files.

2. Copy the XML file content.xml out of the directory to a place where you can
work on it. Name it content_corrupted.xml, or something similar.

3. Install the tool xsltproc or similar. See my earlier blog, "How to use XSLT
to modify XML files inside .ODT documents"
, for an explanation of
this tool, and how to use it with OpenDocument files.

4. Apply the XSLT stylesheet below to content_corrupted.xml, as shown by the
sample command below. It creates content_repaired.xml .

5. Move the file content_repaired.xml back into the OpenDocument directory,
naming it content.xml .

6. Turn the directory of XML and other files back into an OpenDocument file,
following the further instructions in "How to crack open LibreOffice .ODT
documents for fun and bug fixing".

7. Open the repaired OpenDocument file and verify that your table contents are
restored.

The xsltproc command I used to fix the problem was more or less:

xsltproc -o content_repaired.xml repair.xslt content_corrupted.xml

I have attached it as file "Restore_odt_table_cell_text.xslt".

Hi Guys,

As from 1st steps help files mentioned previously, I uninstalled latest 7.1.2
and removed my profile (deleted LO folder from AppData).
Reboot,
Back to 7.0.5.
Worked like a charm :D

In the meantime I upgraded Java that was outdated...

Upgraded to latest 7.1.2 and back to crash !
As for the drivers, I trust Windows Update and Lenovo Vantage Update, and none
of the both warn about vidéo driver update :/
BTW, jumped to Intel Drivers Update for a quick check... am just late for BT
and NVMe according to Intel compared to Lenovo Vantage
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html
report the same updates whenever I look to FR or US site...

Just pushed screen shots

As for #1, from regular options checked boxes, and I still crash :/

As for #2, from advanced options I found, ForceSkiaRaster, I set to TRUE (was
FALSE), and not better

BTW, when crashing, most of the time, LO closes properly (and warn for recovery
at next startup), but sometimes, it keeps looping the splash screen at startup.
At that time I have 2 processes running : 2x soffice.exe and 2x soffice.bin

It does crash only with Calc, new file, exit is enough to crash.
Text works like a charm.

What else could I check ?
Not to fancy to update drivers, to prevent jeopardize config which is safe...

As about Skia, does not even know about and where it comes from and/or
updates...

Should i have a try to nightly builds or RC ? LibreOffice_7.1.3.2_Win_x64.msi ?

Best

Nothing jumps out, though the Intel UHD Graphics 620 (0x5917) DCH driver
27.20.100.8854 is a bit dated--current is 27.20.100.9466.

And, looking at the crash reports the Vulkan driver 0.402.662 and API 1.2.151
seems off. Current for 9477 DCH pkg is Vulkan driver 0.402.1274 and API
1.2.170

Since both crash reports were with Calc, guess it could be OpenCL related.

For OP, does issue with crash with Calc stop if you disable the Skia/Vulkan by
forcing Skia/Raster? Or disable Skia rendering completely?

Done by check box from Tools -> Options -> View and restart LO.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142033] New: VIEWING: Embedded newline does not display correctly when set via SetDataArray()

2021-05-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142033

Bug ID: 142033
Summary: VIEWING: Embedded newline does not display correctly
when set via SetDataArray()
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stuartm.cod...@gmail.com

Description:
- Basic macro
- String with embedded newline by ..." + Chr(10) + "...
- setting the string into a cell with range.SetString() causes the cell to
display the string and its newline
- setting the string into a cell with range.SetDataArray() causes the cell to
display the string but suppress the newline

- editing the bad cell by select, F2, [enter] does not change the display
- editing the bad cell be select, F2, _any change whatsoever_, [enter] causes
the cell to display the newline correctly

Test case attached

Steps to Reproduce:
See attached test sheet and its macro that demonstrates the issue

Actual Results:
Display does not show string with its newline, it's all squashed up

Expected Results:
Display shows string with its newline so it looks nice

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Discovered on 6.0.7.3, upgraded to 7.1.2.2, still present.

There is a dialog box that proves the newline is still in the string, it is a
display bug only. Still, it needs to be fixed because data is not presented as
intended.

I had a suggestion of adding some info in my bug 141988, but this was shot down
because the subpage is included - likely without content removal - in other
individual pages, and it's not a great idea to have multiple "what links here"
links on the same page.

As for the 1st steps...
I was using LO for years with no issue. May be caused by Windows 20H2 update or
hardware/driver update from Lenovo...
7.1.2 latest used on a fresh install (after uninstall previous)
Profile deleted (no matter on it)
Graphic issue (no GL, but not default either)
  Version: 7.1.2.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community

win
  Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR); UI: fr-FR
  Calc: threaded
Computation-related : NA as am not even using, just open, close (using x) and I
fail.
As about Skia... am really unclear where to go to change... just found in some
similar params screen (as am FR and menue does not reallt fit translated ones
from the help file) ForceSkiaRaster = true...
And I still have the issue...
So, what's next doctor ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142032] New: Cannot customize Tabbed Compact UI toolbars buttons

2021-05-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142032

Bug ID: 142032
Summary: Cannot customize Tabbed Compact UI toolbars buttons
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2 all versions
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: celia.palac...@libreoffice.org

Description:
The Tabbed Compact toolbars (UI mode) has many useful buttons, but not all of
them are as useful as to every person or circumstance. Besides, many buttons
have text along them, which makes them occupy a lot of space, contrary to the
compact idea that this UI mode is about.

When I go to Customize dialog and look for TabbedCompact scope in Notebook tab,
I see all the buttons used by this UI mode, but I cannot add some others more
useful to me. Neither I can modify the way the toolbar handles labels alongside
icons.

So this behavior is totally opposed to the good practices that LibreOffice has
with the Standard UI mode, where you can control all these aspects: add or
remove buttons, and modify the appearence of toolbar.

I'm sorry that I cannot recall which one is the earliest version of LibO
affected by this misbehavior, but I am sure that LibO series 6 and now in
7.1.2.2 (the one that I am currently using) is present. I am using Linux
operating system, and I have no wayt to test this behavior in other opsys. I'm
sorry.

Steps to Reproduce:
In version 7.1.2.2, you
1.Open Customize dialog (Tools>Customize…)
2.Click on Notebook tab
3.Select LibreOffice Writer - TabbedCompact (for example) on Scope dropdown
list
4.Select All Commands on Target dropdown list
5. Try to add a button or to remove the label from Default Paragraph button (in
order to use an icon instead), and you can see it is impossible

Actual Results:
I cannot see modification in toolbars when using the TabbedCompact UI mode

Expected Results:
To be able to add buttons, to change icons, to remove/use labels alongside
icons, etc. similar as to Standard UI mode.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Before reporting new bugs which are quite similar, could you give a try at

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141907] Copying multiple, non-continuous cells in different columns should be possible

2021-05-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141907

I agree that this multi selection would be good, but I would expect a different
result.

Steps to Reproduce:
- Open a new Calc document
- Enter anything in different cells over different rows and columns, e.g.:
A1: 1
B2: 2
C3: 3
- While holding the Ctrl-key, select those three cells
- Press Ctrl+C

Select cell A7 and insert it. Result should be:
A7: 1
A8: 2
A9: 3

Rationale: Relative distance of selection (gaps) is not considered in current
versions of Calc, e.g. 7.1.1.2:

Steps for illustration:
1. Open a new Calc document
2. Enter
A1: 1
C1: 2
E1: 3
3. Select A1
4. Press Ctrl and select C1 and E1
5. Go to cell A3
6. Paste by Ctrl-V

Actual (and expected) result:
A3: 1
B3: 2
C3: 3
The gaps are not there anymore. Only the selected cells are pasted.

I think having gaps in the pasted result is another issue. I think such a
behavior is possible, but it should have different commands, menu entries, and
shortcuts. It has to be done the same way for all different kinds of
selections. So, I propose that another issue is created for the gap behavior.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142031] New: tooltips don't like accents

2021-05-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142031

Bug ID: 142031
   Summary: tooltips don't like accents
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tor...@yahoo.com

If a variable name has an accented character, it cannot be chosen from the
tooltips when entering data. Example: variable ‘Crédit’; in a cell, enter
‘=cr’; tooltip appears ‘[CRITBINOM, Crédit …]’; add ‘é’: tooltip disappears;
add ‘d’: new tooltip appears: ‘[DATE]…’, as if ‘cré’ did not exist. However,
you can enter ‘Crédit’ —without tooltip help.
