It can be done in either in Windows 10 or Fedora 34 Linux Workstation Edition,
but only copy & paste cell by cell, not by a cell range.

It is both. It seems to be referring to the English autocorrect list. I tested

Dear c.bessiere,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103903] EMF import distorts proportion of image files (Landscape looks like Portrait)

(In reply to Joerg from comment #19)

Nobody assumes that the file is broken.
It has some "specifics" which unfortunately not 100% clearly documented in the
MS spec AND handled differently by different implementations.

> This might make sense when
> somebody imports a MS Office document containing an EMF generated by MS
> Office, but not in case of importing a standalone image which has no
> relation to MS Office.

There is no good way to differentiate an image generated by MS tools and
imported as a standalone file and by other different third party tools, with
each of them able of doing their own interpretation of the spec.

In the current situation LibreOffice need to choose which interpretation of the
spec to support. MSO sounds more reasonable than MS Paint.

> it's generate by a Java based OpenDocument generator
> which contains code similar to the attached example program.

If modification of this generator is an option, I could help to identify
relatively small changes in the resulting EMF required to make it more
compatible with different readers.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142611] New: Style selector preview is invisible when creating a Writer document with Breeze Dark (KDE Plasma)

2021-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142611

Bug ID: 142611
Summary: Style selector preview is invisible when creating a
Writer document with Breeze Dark (KDE Plasma)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: robloka...@gmail.com

Description:
When creating a Writer document from LibreOffice or opening Writer directly,
the style preview in the toolbar at the top has white text on a white
background, so it's invisible. This only happens on Breeze Dark, not Breeze.
I'm using KDE Plasma 5.21.5.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn on the Breeze Dark theme in KDE Plasma's System Settings
2. Open the LibreOffice app and create a new Writer document (You can also open
Writer directly)
3. Done. The style preview section at the top has white text on a white
background, so it's invisible.

Actual Results:
The text is invisible. I can't see what style I'm going to click on.

Expected Results:
The text should be black.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Version: 7.1.3.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 10(Build:2)
CPU threads: 6; OS: Linux 5.12; UI render: default; VCL: kf5
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

I use openSUSE Tumbleweed and KDE Plasma 5.21.5.

Hello Bartosz,

it's generate by a Java based OpenDocument generator which contains code
similar to the attached example program.

As far as I can see, the file is correct EMF syntax and contains the correct
aspect ratio.
The image import should take over the aspect ratio of the original file and
should not assume, that the image file is broken. This might make sense when
somebody imports a MS Office document containing an EMF generated by MS Office,
but not in case of importing a standalone image which has no relation to MS
Office.

@Joerg Do you remember by which application the EMF file was created?

We implemented current import code, according to [MS-EMF] specification.
Unfortunately MS Paint/Wordpad is displaying these images differently.

The issue with image from this ticket is:

Even if we provide the fix for this image, the other EMF images will start
displaying incorrectly. That's why we currently don't see a solution to resolve
this issue, without breaking import of other images.

Could you please explain why LibreOffice should show this EMF as MS Paint and
IfranView instead of showing it the same as MS Word or MS PowerPoint?

I could not reproduce it in latest stable ver.

Version: 7.0.6.2
Build ID: 144abb84a525d8e30c9dbbefa69cbbf2d8d4ae3b
CPU threads: 12; OS: Mac OS X 10.15.7; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

The bug appears in development ver.

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha1+ / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 3b57ebb445df8a2bc3d916ea79f8af45e20e4e62
CPU threads: 12; OS: Mac OS X 10.15.7; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Looking at the attached document. The text has checkmarks in it, which is not
an ordinary character (not on the keyboard).
I could not reproduce the bug using same steps mentioned (by copying and
pasting).
Although Calc did hang when inserting the checkmark symbol from the MacOS
Character Viewer, in fact it hangs when inserting any symbol or emoji.

Steps to reproduce
1. Open new Calc document.
2. Open Character viewer.
3. Drag and drop any character or emoji.
4. Insert at least 10 symbols or emoji (the number is not specific).
Calc hangs and the Character viewer also get disabled for any other
applications. Logging out and logging back in restores the Character viewer.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142610] New: Incredibly, painfully, slow

2021-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142610

Bug ID: 142610
   Summary: Incredibly, painfully, slow
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: orc4h...@gmail.com

Description:
With LibreOffice already open, opening a small ODT file of less than one page
(simple text, no graphics) takes more than 30 seconds of spinning beachball
slowness. Unless it simply crashes, which it does about 1/3 of the time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice
2. Open a document
3. Having some reading material on hand, because this is going to be a while

Actual Results:
Glacial slowness that makes Microsoft Word look nimble and sprightly.

Expected Results:
Open without needing snacks and reading material for the wait.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Being this slow for files this small (under 20 kb--that's KILObytes) must take
serious and dedicated effort. Wordstar on my old 8088 Trash-80, reading from a
5 1/4" floppy disk was WAY faster.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 130693] PRINTING: font or style selectively changed from Writer in PDF printout

Hello,

So I ran a test just now using Mousepad and printing to file (choosing pdf)
with the two versions of fonts-dejavu-core and fonts-dejavu-extra. The problem
appeared just as it did in LibreOffice. So I'm not sure this is a LO bug, but
don't know where to post it. DejaVu fonts on Github? Debian? Ubuntu? Any advice
would be appreciated.

Screen customize keyboard.

I can be assigned with Menu/Tools/Customize/Keyboard.

But there are two Autofilter, and only the second one works after assign.

Maybe that's in relation.

Olivier, the text says:

Sheet's contents scales as needed to fit in the page.

I think that is not correct. What happens is that the size of the page is fit
to the contents. So the contents doesn't get smaller or bigger to fit e.g. an
A4 page, the page size is not A4 but "whatever is needed to have all the
content, no more no less".

The UI in Excel

Unlike in Excel, the Autofilter command in Calc cannot be enabled/disabled with
a keyboard shortcut.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In Calc open the Data menu

Actual results:
Autofilter menu item does not show shortcut.

Expected results:
Excel has Ctrl-Shift-L for this feature which is currently unused in Calc and
globally as well. That could be assigned.

tabOverflowB.odt: tabOverSpacing still applies in c15 though

I'm going to delay backporting to 7.1 until I've had a chance to try to figure
out how to allow "tab over right spacing" as seen in this example document.
That still applies in Word 2016 (but is lost in LO when turning off
tabOverMargin).

I agree with the bug description: it is very unclear what to do once a URL has
been entered. The OK button stays grey, and the only way to move to the next
step is to press Enter, which is a confusing user experience for a dialogue
that has a "Browse" button next to the field, and an "OK" button at the bottom
right.

I can reproduce with the latest daily build on Ubuntu 18.04:

The tables are listed in the order:

HTML_1
HTML_10
HTML_11
HTML_12
HTML_2
HTML_3
etc.

Expected Results:
The tables should be listed in the same order as in the HTML page's source
code.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This matters as you can pick several tables to import. If you pick a range or
cherry-pick a number of them (using Ctrl + click), the user would expect to see
them imported into the spreadsheet in the same order as in the original source.

A cumbersome workaround would be to:
- Import table 1
- Import the ones you want between 2 and 9
- Import the ones you want between 10 and 12

Alternatively, import HTML_tables and remove the ones you don't want to keep.

Example file from Writer with the problematic stars and banners shapes

The attached example file contains Writer stars and banners that were found to
be exported incorrectly to docx: their customization point is missing, there is
no way to edit the shapes after export.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attached example Writer file. The shapes can be edited by the
points.
2. Save as .docx, reopen it in Word

Actual results:
In docx, the shapes customization points are missing.

Expected results:
Docx shapes should have the points like the original .odt shapes.
