[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57181] FILESAVE as pptx: slide names replaced by default names

2021-06-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57181

--- Comment #17 from NISZ LibreOffice Team ---
Ah, so many different issues still... this file if inspected more closely,
could also be a treasure trove of "improvement opportunities".

(In reply to Timur from comment #16)
> When opening 47-slide MSO Attachment 61765 [details], in LO 7.2+ I see Slide
> 1, Objectives,.., Slide 6, Estimation,.., Slide 9, Slide 10,..
> Slide 1 name is not read from OO.

Indeed! But that's a separate pre-existing fileopen issue.
I'll file a new bug for that.

Long (64 char+) slide names are also turned into "Slide N" format, instead of
being truncated a bit + numbered; like on the last two slides.
I'll file a new bug about this as well.

Finally there are slides without a Title box, I think for those the default
Slide N is viable.
For example in PP the Custom Slide Show dialog refers to the slides by their
Title box contents and slides without any Title box appear as Slide N even in
PP, such as slide 13, 18, 36, 42 in this example file.

> Slide 6 is a consequence of being the same
> as of slide 5, change in bug 103347 (solved by renaming same name to Slide X
> and not to Existing Slide Name (1)).
>

I think we should change that.

> If saved as PPTX and reopen in LO, Slide 1 name is proper, Slide X remain,
> but renamed slide is not remembered. In MSO all names are proper (renamed
> slide still shown as original).

How did you rename it?
Using the Rename Slide box does not retain the new content, but changing the
actual slide title in the editor works after reload and fills the name in the
Rename Slide box and Navigator as well.

Since slide name is generated from the Title placeholders in case of PPTX, I
think this is as far as we can go. Unless we want to start to explore options
to disable the Rename Slide functionality upon opening a PPTX file.

> So I don't see this fixed.
> If it is, please explain.
>

This bug was about the view of the LO-saved PPTX in LO, which improved
dramatically compared to the former complete loss of generated contents in the
Navigator and also in the Overview view.

But there is still some room for improvement, thanks for noticing :).

> As for Importance, I set Low-Normal, because as explained this is LO-only
> feature.
>
> Note that MSO asks to repair PPTX coming from LO-saved Attachment 61765
> [details] (another issue, seems not regression).

I can't reproduce this issue anymore. The example file when saved with todays
nightly opens fine in my PP 2019:

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha1+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 3b57ebb445df8a2bc3d916ea79f8af45e20e4e62
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: hu-HU (hu_HU); UI: en-US
Calc: CL

However it was indeed repaired if I saved it with 7.1.0.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142514] Inconsistent use and non-antialiased graphical representation and of rotation wheels

Looked at the code in the meantime: Removal from sidebar is an easy change,
antialiasing within dialogs is a general issue but resulting poor quality is
noticeable for the rotation wheels especially. Besides rotation wheels there is
no pressure to fix antialiasing at the moment.

Making the ToF cross-reference-like sounds like over-engineering to me. And we
have the Display option right now, plus the radio buttons in discussion. But
maybe we can improve the situation with a better naming like "Create From" ->
"Reference to" and "Object names" -> "Figure"/"Table"/etc.

B6: =B5-B4
B7: =B3*B6+B3*B4
which is
=B3*(B5-B4)+B3*B4
which is
=B3*B5-B3*B4+B3*B4

You are effectively eliminating any change in B4 with -B3*B4+B3*B4

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142629] Importing psd image with transparent background results in "Unknown image format"

2021-06-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Ok so it would be a regression then.

There is no "need" per se, it's just a thought.
Yes there are other prioprietary formats which are not 100% supported by LO but
in this specific case, I prefer improving jpg/png/gif support since psd can be
exported in one of these by software like Photoshop or Gimp. Also, I just
wonder how often psd import in LO is used compared with the 3 quoted image
formats.

Of course, I don't say psd is a bad format or hardly used in general, I just
mean to include it in a doc.
I wonder if Word, Excel, Powerpoint can insert psd for just displaying. (it's a
real question, no ironical tone here, I don't have MSOffice to give it a try
right now).

Yes LO does need to display images but not every format of images (just take a
look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_file_formats).

More generally, I think LO tries to deal with too much formats (it's also true
for other things like databases) but few, if there are, aren't supported at
100%. I may be wrong but it seems even odf aren't 100% supported.
Of course, you may respond that support of 98% for example should be enough and
the rest is just very specific use and you might be right but, for odf or png
at least, I think it's a pity.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142636] New: Libreoffice Calc does not recalculate formula (not even by forcing with F9 or CTRL+SHIFT+F9)

2021-06-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 142636
Summary: Libreoffice Calc does not recalculate formula (not
even by forcing with F9 or CTRL+SHIFT+F9)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: d.phil...@tu-braunschweig.de

Created attachment 172592
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=172592=edit
Example spread sheet of deficient recalculation

OS: Windows 10

LibreOffice version: 7.1.3.2 (x64)

build:
https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+log/47f78053abe362b9384784d31a6e56f8511eb1c1

Reproducible steps:
  1. In attached file change value in field B4
  2. Press F9
  3. Press CTRL + SHIFT + F9

Expected result: Calculated value in field B7 should be recalculated already
after 1st step.

Observed result: Value in field B7 does not change even after 3rd step.

Is that behaviour related to bug

This is created from the test in
https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/752a6d58a440e2cb84e0f84d3e12dd52efd016eb.

1. Open attached document, check that its chart's data series' values are like
"$'Sheet.1'.$B$12:$B$18".
2. On the sheet, select all (Ctrl+A), can copy (Ctrl+C).
3. Close the doc (not the application), and create a new spreadsheet.
4. In the new spreadsheet, rename the first sheet to "Sheet.1" (not really
necessary, but I'm just following the existing unit test).
5. Paste (Ctrl+V)
6. Inspect the pasted chart's data series.

Expected: the series are like "$'Sheet.1'.$B$12:$B$18".
Actual: they are like "'file:///D:/Documents/Sheet.1'#$Sheet1.$B$12:$B$18".

I assume this works as expected on Linux (the unit test likely runs on linus in
our CI). But this fails on Windows, with both Version: 7.1.4.1 (x64) /

I do not think there are any changes compared to the text attached to the post
dated 2016-06-28 and the instructions are by no means exhaustive: by dragging
the area of the spreadsheet into the text document, the area in the spreadsheet
is moved (not copied ) and then, closing with save the ods file, this gets

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142629] Importing psd image with transparent background results in "Unknown image format"

2021-06-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142629

According to the question on LibreOffice, the import filter worked for PSD
images with transparent backgrounds until 6.1.0.3 or possibly 6.0.0.3; there is
uncertainty in the language.

Is there a need to remove PSD filter just because it is proprietary and not
100%? I can think of other filters that also meet that criteria.

LibreOffice does need to display images. The issue is not about editing them.
If you believe that no work should put into displaying of PSD with transparent
background, that is quite different to removing existing functionality.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142634] New: Animation-Object gets unselected upon change.

2021-06-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142634

Bug ID: 142634
Summary: Animation-Object gets unselected upon change.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: f.tha...@posteo.net

[Not sure which of the possible summary-keywords is the correct one]

In the Animation-Tab of the sidebar, you can animate parts of your slide.
Changing the Start-value of the first item in the animation-list in any way
(for example from "With previous" to "On click") unselects it after a short
freeze.

It might also happen with other objects in your animation-list, but I've mainly
noticed it with the first elements.
This is kind of annoying as it can disrupt your workflow repeatedly.

What I did before the bug happened:
1. Add animations (without delays) on other slides
2. Select 10+ arrows on this slide
3. Order them properly using drag
4. Make all of them appear "after previous"
5. Try to change their delay-value.

In the Animation-Tab of the sidebar, you can animate parts of your slide.
Changing the Start-value in any way (for example from "With previous" to "On

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142632] New: Textinput in sidebar doesn't work.

2021-06-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Summary: Textinput in sidebar doesn't work.

[Not sure which of the possible summary-keywords is the correct one]

In the Animation-Tab of the sidebar, you can animate parts of your slide.
Changing the delay-option of any of the animation-elements doesn't do anything.
After switching to a different element and coming back, the delay just resets
to zero.
(By the way, it doesn't matter whether you type in a delay or click the
[+]-button next to the textinput.)

What I did before the bug happened:
1. Add animations (without delays) on other slides
2. Select 10+ arrows on this slide
3. Order them properly using drag
4. Make all of them appear "after previous"
5. Try to change their delay-value.
6. It doesn't work.

The only way I could change the delay was via right-click. In the
Effect-property, the textbox works.

When opening 47-slide MSO Attachment 61765, in LO 7.2+ I see Slide 1,
Objectives,.., Slide 6, Estimation,.., Slide 9, Slide 10,..
Slide 1 name is not read from OO. Slide 6 is a consequence of being the same as
of slide 5, change in bug 103347 (solved by renaming same name to Slide X and
not to Existing Slide Name (1)).

If saved as PPTX and reopen in LO, Slide 1 name is proper, Slide X remain, but
renamed slide is not remembered. In MSO all names are proper (renamed slide
still shown as original).
So I don't see this fixed.
If it is, please explain.

As for Importance, I set Low-Normal, because as explained this is LO-only
feature.

Note that MSO asks to repair PPTX coming from LO-saved Attachment 61765
(another issue, seems not regression).

Yes I think it should be removed since:
- it's a proprietary format
- LO isn't an image editor even if you can do some basic edition.
Of course, it's only my personal opinion.

tabOverSpacing_odd_c12.docx: MS Word 2016 renders this very strangely.

I just wanted to preserve this DOCX that makes NO LOGICAL SENSE in how MS Word
renders it. This is in compatibility mode.

The super strange line is "A left tab positioned at 15cm" which for whatever
reason breaks into multiple lines - the most bizarre being the one starting
with "1 and forever". What could possibly have induced that to wrap at that
point?

LO also handles it really poorly. The extra defined tab at 2cm seems to cause
problems for initial layout.

This idea sounds like a duplicate - to some degree - to bug #114508

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 114508 ***

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142631] Poor contrast on spellcheck in dark mode

2021-06-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142631

Suggested fix - the text colour and background for sample text and suggestions
in the spellcheck window should match the document settings.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142631] New: Poor contrast on spellcheck in dark mode

2021-06-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142631

Bug ID: 142631
Summary: Poor contrast on spellcheck in dark mode
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tim.chambers1...@gmail.com

Description:
Low contrast between text being spellchecked and the background of the text in
the spell checker when using dark mode in pop!_OS

Steps to Reproduce:
0. System theme on Pop!_OS set to the default
Settings->Apeparance->Appearance->Dark
1.Tools->Options->Personalization: Default view, do not use themes, then OK
2.Open a document with spelling that is not recognised in the spell checker
3.Run a spell check (F7)

Actual Results:
The text displayed in the spell check window is black on a dark grey background
and is hard to read due to the lack of contrast. Text for buttons and other
info in the window is light grey and easy to read

Expected Results:
The text displayed against the dark background should be light, or the
background should be light with the text dark.

Reproducible: Always
