Summary|Suggestion to Change Style |Clear direct formatting

   |Direct Formatting |the Stylist

Let's do it.

Ctrl+doubleclick a style on the Stylist should
* in case of PS:
+ clear DFP and LS (not CS, DF, PgS, TS, FS)
* in case of CS
  + DF

It should be a double click since ctrl+click usually toggles a selection and
while multiselection is not relevant here the goal is to have a modifier for
the default command, which is double click (single click selects for
modification).

As a bonus we could add "Apply (double click)" and "Clear and Apply
(ctrl+doubleclick)" (or the like) on the context menu to provide a clue about
the functionality.

Interesting easy hack?

PS: paragraph style
CS: character style
LS: list style
PgS: page style
TS: table style
FS: frame style
DF: direct formatting (of character attributes)
DFP: direct formatting of paragraph (attributes)

Sorry, but I don't understand the problem. You say that only images anchored as
character are treated as track changes and you say, that inserting an image or
drag-n-drop it from file manager will anchor the image as character (I agree).
So with both methods LO record these changes.

2021-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142977

Bug ID: 142977
Summary: table border format issue when adding a row after last
row
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.3.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rob...@iafrica.com

Description:
Table border formatting is such that outside border is different from inside
borders.
When I add a row to the end of the table, the new row's top border is not
formatted as internal borders are.
Workaround: add row before last row, do not use tab bout of last row to create
new row.
Importance: irritating. requires extra work.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a table
2. format borders
3. type into table, tab on last cell (bottom rhs)
4. adds new row

Actual Results:
new last row formatting not correct

Expected Results:
Writer should have changed border between (previous) last row and (new) last
row to be consistent with rest of table

Reproducible: Always

Dear Michael Noyce,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Thanks Mike. I figured it was something like that. It seems that libre office
should really be storing date/time in a more standard format like number of
seconds since the epoch. Storing fractions of a day seems ripe for all sort of
issues... I guess it would be a horrible backward compatibility issue though.
It would be interesting to know why the original design decision went this way.

Mike Kaganski changed:

   What|Removed |Added

This is not a bug, but inevitable limitation of hardware calculations. Time in
LibreOffice is internally represented as a fraction of a day; 1 hour is 1/12 =
0.041... (not representable precisely in machine floating-point
format). When you create series like you did, you always introduce
inaccuracies:

1. When filling the two initial values and dragging, you want Calc to count the
difference between the two initial values, and use it as increment. You have
two dates with times, having values 43105 and 43105,041667. Their
difference is 0,04166656965, not 0.041, because only ~16
decimal digits fit into the machine number. Adding this value incrementally
naturally starts to deviate very quickly.

2. When you use =A1+TIMEVALUE("01:00") formula, the additional inaccuracies
result because of accumulating error from repeated summation.

The most precise (but not perfect!) calculation could be using the formula
=A$1+TIMEVALUE("01:00")*(ROW()-1), where all intermediate calculations do not
affect result in following cells. The same result you would get, if you use
Sheet->Fill Cells->Fill Series (and put 2018-01-05 00:00:00 to "Start value",
and 01:00:00 to "Increment"). The only drawback of using Fill Series in this
case is that it will need applying Datetime format manually after the
operation.

2021-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142975

Bug ID: 142975
   Summary: [EMF+] DrawString with Brush
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.3.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: filters and storage
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: f...@df.ru

Description:
LO supports DrawSDriverString with Brush, but not DrawString with Brush.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open attached EMF sample.

Actual Results:
LO draws empty object.

Expected Results:
It should draw a dark red string "0123456789ABCDEF"

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
DrawDriverString geets the color here:
https://github.com/LibreOffice/core/blob/master/drawinglayer/source/tools/emfphelperdata.cxx#L2090

Probably it could be picked for DrawString implementation.

2021-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 142974
Summary: EDITING: Hourly time series not calculated correctly
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.3.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: felixcoll...@yahoo.com

Description:
I want to produce an hourly timeseries of date in the format -MM-DD
HH:MM:SS.
I've tried too ways to do this and both are unreliable. At some point the next
cell displays 59m and 59s added instead of 60m.

Steps to Reproduce:
Scenario 1.
1. enter "2018-01-05 00:00:00" in a cell (without quotes)
2. enter "2018-01-05 01:00:00" in the cell below
3. Select both cells then do a drag fill downward.

Scenario 2.
1. enter "2018-01-05 00:00:00" in a cell (Say A1)
2. in the cell below (A2) enter a formula "=A1+TIMEVALUE("01:00")"
3. copy A2 and paste to a to a few tens of cells below

Actual Results:
In some cases the value is displayed not 60m incremented but rather 59m and
59s.

Expected Results:
I'd expect a nicely incrementing timeseries with hour steps for both scenarios.

Reproducible: Sometimes

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89960] Suggestion to Change Style Behavior in Relation to Direct Formatting

2021-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89960

(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #19)
> Don't think ctrl+click (apply style and clear formatting) is easy to
> understand. But surely it doesn't break existing workflows. I also wonder
> what formatting should be cleared:
>
> in case of PS: DPS (acceptable) and CS and DF (-1)?
> in case of CS: DF (acceptable)

I agree that this is not a bad feature, seemingly not harming any workflow. I
second the suggestion to only clear paragraph direct formatting when
special-applying paragraph style, and clear character direct formatting when
special-applying character style. By the way, there are more styles ;-) - so
what to do with lists - do you want to clear that direct formatting when
special-applying paragraph style, or keep it, and only clear when
special-applying list style? Or clear it when special-applied paragraph style
contains associated list style?

> DPS: direct formatted paragraph style

Please, there's no such thing. There is paragraph direct formatting, and
character direct formatting. Or if you prefer, direct paragraph formatting, and
direct character formatting ;-) This depends on the level at which some
properties are defined. Direct formatting applied on paragraph level does *not*
create a "style".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108600] Inconsistent background color painting

2021-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108600

(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #5)

Personally I find this behavior inconsistent and hackish. We have spacing that
is covered by paragraph's background (and which now can be used without
borders). We have indents and spacing that isn't covered, and which has an
option to be not added between same-style paragraphs.

I can imagine a property of paragraph (style) similar to the new
"BackgroundFullSize" (bug 122508 - thanks Michael!). It looks reasonable and in
agreement with that extension - to be able to define if those areas around are
covered by background or not. But this automatic extension ... I'm against it
(but it exists, and no doubt there are documents using it - so if it hopefully
is removed, there's still a compat setting for those old documents).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140961] LO Writer: Frames are converted into text box when saving in .docx

2021-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140961

@Regina

It is expected that the object in the docx file remain with the same properties
of a frame in the odt ones (see the screenshot in
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=173067)

If you compare the floating menus of the text box [1] with that for the frame
[2] you will see that it's not possible to edit the properties of the first
one.

[1] https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=170466
[2] https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=173066

Unfortunately (or not) I can't provide an object created in Word because I
don't use it.
FreeOffice is able to provide an object (called text frame in the software)
that has similar properties of a frame in LibreOffice
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=173068
However, when the file is opened in LibreOffice, it is recognized as a text
box.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142727] Colorize Cells

Andreas Heinisch changed:

So I checked for the exact reason of this bug. In Bug 130476, we changed the
behaviour of the hex literals. So in &H00FF00 preceeding zeros are ignored and
the resulting number is converted to an int, which leads to -256, which is
obviously not a color.

However, if you cast the literal to a long by adding & at the end (&H00FF00&),
the value is preserved as long and the cell color gets the correct value.

So imho not a bug.

You can just change your lines from:
Tabelle.getCellbyPosition(6,l).CellBackcolor = &H00FF00
to:
Tabelle.getCellbyPosition(6,l).CellBackcolor = &H00FF00&

Repro with:

End Sub

Cell background color should be green in both cases.

"White up-pointing triangle" is likely correct. MS Word showed "V" because
there is no "MT Extra" font installed on the computer.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142972] New: Background Position depends on margins

2021-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142972

Bug ID: 142972
Summary: Background Position depends on margins
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: colinz...@icloud.com

Description:
The Position of the Background depends on the margins.
It depends on the text-area and not on the page itself.
If I add a picture as a background with the size of the document and set it up
it like this:
- Position: center
- Size: Size of the document
- No Tiles
...and the margins are the same size for all 4 sides, everything works fine.
If I change the size of one margin, the background moves and does not fill the
whole page anymore.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a picture as a background with the size of the document and set it up it
like this:
- Position: center
- Size: Size of the document
- No Tiles
2. Change the margins that at least one differs from the others

Actual Results:
Tha background isn't where it should be

Expected Results:
The background is (and stays) in the center of the page and fills it out
completely.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Was reproducable by other users in a forum.
The resolution of the PDF imported as background is getting reduced.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62063] FORMATTING: After changing to non-Western keyboard layout, font textbox still tracks Western font

2021-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62063

I should also stress that this is a high-visibility bug - so much so that many
of us experienced users ignore it, since we simply encounter it every time we
open LO Writer. For newbies, it is one of the immediate annoyances they come up
against.

So, I suggest an increase of priority.

But actually - it's not specific to Arabic. It's the same with Hebrew, and I
assume all RTL languages and suspect perhaps CTL languages too.

Also renaming title to better reflect the actual bug.
