> Thanks. What sounded wired to me, was that with gtk3 VCLPLUGIN (even on
> plasma-wayland), works like a charm (but I am just a final user).

When using the gtk3 VCL plugin, this also uses the gtk3/GNOME stack rather than
the Qt/KF5 one under the hood, so it doesn't necessarily mean that all problems
are LibreOffice-only. Whenever I was trying Plasma Wayland on my Debian
testing, I encountered too many general issues so I always switched back to
X11. The situation is certainly better when using KDE Neon or any other distro
with latest Plasma/KF5 (Debian testing has 5.20.5). There are certainly
problems that are LibreOffice's fault, this would need further analysis.

> By the
> way, any workaround to make plasma globalmenu to get libreoffice menu when
> launched with gtk3 VCLPLUGIN?

What you can try to avoid Wayland-specific problems is using the kf5 VCL plugin
with XWayland by setting this environment variable: QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb
(Ideally in some wrapper script for LibreOffice, so other Qt/KDE applications
are unaffected, in case you want to see how those behave with "real Wayland")

Nope. Styles 1-3 are not set with an equivalent OutlineLevel, so they won't
(and shouldn't be) be selected as chapter numbering.

Prior to LibreOffice 6.2, simply opening the test document displayed the size
wrong. But that was fixed with commit 942f1056b51e53358d42ff8da8a1bbdce9ba5303
Author: Mike Kaganski on Mon Jul 2 20:31:32 2018 +1000
tdf#117923: handle direct formatting for numbering in .doc

Since commit df07d6cb9f62c0a2c4b29bd850d4efb4fcd4790b, we do for DOCX.
DOC also has this problem, so set the relevant compatibility flag on
import for this format, too.

@Makrea, I am not very familiar with OLE or LO's interaction with it, so please
forgive if I am asking a bad question. However, in the comment you quoted, the
words "is active" stood out to me:

// Always veto termination while an OLE object is active

In the use case you provide, it sounds like you don't need to interact with OLE
any more once the document is open. Is there any way you can de-activate or end
the OLE session at that point?

Dear André,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136903] Crash swlo!SwRedlineData::SetSeqNo+0xf26: (track changes involved)

2021-07-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136903

For some reason I'm not getting a crash with the given steps in the bibisect
builds (linux-64-7.2) since the following commit (seems completely unrelated):
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=a3a203b7c697a38d4f79877d6b5c1423fa52f2d8

At the same time, a current main debug build still crashes with the steps.

For reference, I am using:
Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: e3086b58eb5427d520b86c185f9d911bb6f7a3a0

Calc: threaded

To me, the repeat rate for replace seems slower than the repeat rate for, say,
cursor movement; but it's not excessively slow. One could say that it's worse
for replace to go too quickly than too slowly, since you are changing the
document.

Have you checked the Repeat Keys Speed in your Keyboard Preferences? Maybe it's
set to a low value.

> Áron was wondering if this is actually a bug or expected behaviour.
In Word, in a similar scenario, if an object is positioned relative to a
character (though for some reason it's under the "Absolute position" category
in the Layout dialog), and the characters around it are deleted similar steps,
the anchor moves backwards, and the object is kept.

And indeed, this is the more logical approach, as the object isn't part of the
text. If you don't have formatting marks shown, you can't even see where it's
anchored to, and don't expect it to be "randomly" deleted by deleting text.

Document with contour wrap "WrapTight"

Open attached file and compare it with rendering in Word. In Word the
indentation of the shape is not filled with characters, but in LibreOffice.
Open dialog "Wrap". Notice, that the option "Outside only" is not checked. When
you check it, you get the same rendering as in Word.

Word has the two contour wrap kinds "wrapTight" and "wrapThrough". "wrapTight"
does not fill indentations of the shape.
"wrapTight" corresponds to the properties "SurroundContour=True" and
"ContourOutside=True".
"wrapThrough" corresponds to the properties "SurroundContour=True" and
"ContourOutside=False".
You can examine the shape properties with the new 'Developer Tools'.

Sorry, I don't have much experience with the global menu.

Thanks. What sounded wired to me, was that with gtk3 VCLPLUGIN (even on
plasma-wayland), works like a charm (but I am just a final user). By the way,
any workaround to make plasma globalmenu to get libreoffice menu when launched

So would this be export only filter, or is there some expectations of a .pptx
import filter? None of this is ODF compliant.

And for that, export of Impress presentataion to PDF as a cross platform
solution seems sufficient. While currently entire presentations (or selected
subset of slides) can be exported to a series of SVG in SMIL 2.0 multi slide
stream (bug 117708 to improve awareness). Exactly the "feature" of the MS
proprietary PowerPoint Picture Presentation.

Certainly not in core--but maybe the PPTX picture show filter work could go in
an extension.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143206] New: Libreoffice on plasma works really bad

2021-07-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143206

Bug ID: 143206
Summary: Libreoffice on plasma works really bad
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: giors...@yahoo.it

Description:
I am noticing multiple fails of libreoffice working on kde-plasma. It must be a
sort of qt5 bad interaction issue, since, when I start libreffice with gtk3
VCLPLUGIN, all works perfect except that I have neither globalmenu nor
libreoffice menu (and, sometimes I need it).

That said, I try to list several errors I noticed when running libreoffice with
qt5 (or kde5) VCLPLUGIN

1: mouse double click not selecting text
2. Impossible to change the text style using right style menu (does nothing).
3. frequently freeze (randomly and for a couple of secs.)
5. error in formatting documents (in a long text doc I am writing, some part of
the text, sometimes, simply disappear (restart libreoffice solves the problem)
6. in writer, problem in following footnotes links (clicking on the footnote
number in the text does something strange..).

Sorry for not being more specific. Anyway, errors 1. and 2. are quite easy to
reproduce and they are always there. More generally speaking, as a simple final
user, I have to insist in a very different feeling switching the VLCPLUGIN:
gtk3 works great (except for globalmenu which really sucks); kde5 or qt5...not
so much.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.just open libreoffice with qt5 or kde5 VCLPLUGIN in kde/plasma desktop
(running on Arch-Linux)
2.
3.

Actual Results:
mouse double click not selecting text

Expected Results:
with gtk3 VCLPLUGIN all works great except the lack of menu (or globalmenu)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143205] New: Regular expression find/replace - odd behaviour when specific formatted date ; EDITING

2021-07-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143205

Bug ID: 143205
Summary: Regular expression find/replace - odd behaviour when
specific formatted date ; EDITING
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: regeirs.fo...@gmail.com

This behaviour is the same on two different OS/version combinations:

PC #1:
Version: 6.4.7.2 (x86)
Build ID: 639b8ac485750d5696d7590a72ef1b496725cfb5
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: GL; VCL: win;
Locale: nb-NO (nb_NO); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

PC #2:
Version: 7.0.6.2
Build ID: 00(Build:2)
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.12; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: nb-NO (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Steps to reproduce:
* Open one of the two files attached.
* Select B coloumn and do a Search and replace
 - Select "Regular expression" and Search In Formulas.
 - In search field:
([:digit:][:digit:]\:[:digit:][:digit:]\:[:digit:][:digit:])\.([:digit:])
 - In replace field: $1,$2
 - Hit Replace all

Expected behavior :
This search and replace is meant to replace the dot with a comma, according to
the current locale settings.
The cells should now yeld hour-minute-seconds and 1/100 seconds.

Observed behavior :
The result does not comply with the regex, but instead it strip away the two
first numbers - say it looks like the outcome is forced to comply according to
the formatting of the cell instead of what the regex expression tell it to.

In cell B2, that contain "05:46:55.97"
 - expected cell value to become "05:46:55,97" (but appear as "46:55,97"
according to the time formatting)
 - But cell content actually becomes "46:55,97"

It takes 20 seconds to scroll at the end of the document, but after that
everything is OK. Export to PDF and docx works.

So the bug seems to be fixed in LibreOffice 7.1.

Google Translate:
Unused columns to the right of sheets are usually hidden for the user's
convenience. However, since CALC version 6.4.5 (and also in version 7.0), every
time a new version of a spreadsheet is saved, those columns are displayed again
when the file is opened again.
Worksheets that I recorded in previous versions also started to show hidden
LINES again when I opened the files in version 6.5.4 but, unlike what happens
with columns, once hidden again, they were no longer shown.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Save a spreadsheet with all columns on the left, starting from column "G"
hidden
2.Save the file
3.Open, edit and save again (new version) of it
4.Close the files.
5. Reopen the spreadsheet file.

Actual Results:
Hidden columns are displayed again

Expected Results:
Hidden columns should remain hidden

Observed behavior with no image of slides with the legacy HTML export dialog is
valid. But the entire HTML export should have been removed as in dupe. PDF is
the valid means of distributing ODF documents and presentations.

Currently if images were embedded they would likely be base64 encoded PNG
bitmap--but done as an SVG could be browser rendered, but bug 100498 quashed
that.

The HTML 4.0.1 Transitional based filter needs to go completely.

Something else, HTML 5 and ARIA content that is WCAG 2.1 compliant--probably
SVG graphic based, would be a nice enhancement but it belongs in an extension.

This, adding base64 encoded bitmap images to HTML 4 markup, is a clear => WF
