[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108601] FORMATTING Value of Format - Rows - Optimal Height is not saved
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108601 --- Comment #15 from Ulrich Windl --- I don't know the internals, but as "optimal width" and "optimal height" are "one-shot" operations (and not a formatting option) AFAIK, the cell widths and heights just need to be saved. No. Hidden text is just deleted (which makes sense). Track-changes is an entirely different beast and its whole purpose it to keep deleted content around, so it too can just delete everything. So that won't help in this situation either. Note that it will be best to check for comments BEFORE calling lcl_MaskRedlinesAndHiddenText, since that junction just adds MORE CH_TXTATR_INWORD's that would need to be tested to see if they are comment markers. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104597] Text runs of RTL scripts (e.g. Arabic, Hebrew, Persian) from imported PDF are reversed, PDFIProcessor::mirrorString not behaving
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104597 --- Comment #45 from Kevin Suo --- (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #44) Well, below is my observation these days. I may be wrong, but I think these are helpful to those who are interested: 1. The "mirrorString" function is never hit because isRTL is always false. 2. The "isRTL" is always false because the following code never returned true: ''' if( xCC.is() ) { for(int i=1; i< elem.Text.getLength(); i++) { css::i18n::DirectionProperty nType = static_cast(xCC->getCharacterDirection( str, i )); if ( nType == css::i18n::DirectionProperty_RIGHT_TO_LEFT || nType == css::i18n::DirectionProperty_RIGHT_TO_LEFT_ARABIC || nType == css::i18n::DirectionProperty_RIGHT_TO_LEFT_EMBEDDING || nType == css::i18n::DirectionProperty_RIGHT_TO_LEFT_OVERRIDE ) isRTL = true; } } ''' https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sdext/source/pdfimport/tree/drawtreevisiting.cxx?#110 3. This "if" block never returned true because "getCharacterDirection" in XCharacterClassification requires an OUString with a length > 1, whereas only one Arabic character is passed to it. If the length is 1 which is the same as the nPos, then this function returns 0 directly without doing any detection of the direction (it is impossible to detect the direction if only one Arabic character is provided). See: https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/i18npool/source/characterclassification/cclass_unicode.cxx?#128 4. The reason why only one Arabic character is passed to getCharacterDirection may be due to the sdext.pdfimport code failed to combine those single characters (as produced by xpdfimport process) into a string. Below is the sample ODF XML stream generated by the sdext pdfimport code (using a pdf file with only one line content "لوحة المفاتيح العربية"): ''' ة ي ب ر ع ل ا ح ي ت ا ف م ل ا ة ح و ل ''' As we can see above, this produced a lot of text.span with the same style name. This makes the ODF XML stream huge before it is imported into Draw (this may be the reason why pdfimport is very slow and memory/CPU consuming for large PDFs). The pdfimport code was intended to combine these characters in to a single string, see https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sdext/source/pdfimport/tree/drawtreevisiting.cxx?#698 where it says it will "concatenate consecutive text elements unless there is a font or text color or matrix change, leave a new span in that case". However, it must have been failed to do so. It failed because, based on my observation, in the following code block: ''' if( (pCur->FontId == pNext->FontId || isSpaces(pNext)) && rCurGC.FillColor.Red == rNextGC.FillColor.Red && rCurGC.FillColor.Green == rNextGC.FillColor.Green && rCurGC.FillColor.Blue == rNextGC.FillColor.Blue && rCurGC.FillColor.Alpha == rNextGC.FillColor.Alpha && (rCurGC.Transformation == rNextGC.Transformation || notTransformed(rNextGC)) ) ''' all the other conditions are true, except the "rCurGC.Transformation == rNextGC.Transformation". Until now I am still not sure why rCurGC.Transformation does not equal to rNextGC.Transformation while they should be the same. In sum, the mirrorString code would be reached if the single characters are successfully combined into a string. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143377 Bug ID: 143377 Summary: FORMATTING and PRINTING: Setting Border with rotated text changes row background color Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: x86 (IA32) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: bugzillarepor...@alanmrobertson.com Description: I just upgraded Linux Mint. This spreadsheet opened and printed successfully in March, 2021. This Calc has a tab to print a weight tracking form. It has 30 rows and 24 columns, printed on two pages. Each page can track 8 weeks; four weeks on one side, then rotate 180 degrees and 28 days on the other. When I opened it now, the occupied rows were black or bright green. I rebuilt the tab from scratch on another tab. First I copied the text. Then I formatted the font and dates. Then I set the column widths and row heights. I added borders. All was good. But, when I rotated the text 180 degrees on the right two sets of 6 columns each, the background color changed. When I tried printing it, there was a triangle printed on the background of each row. The three corners of the triangle are the upper left of column A, the upper right of column X, and the lower right of column X. The color of background is related to, but not equal to, the text color. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create a blank Calc sheet and select a cell 2.Add all borders 3.Rotate text 180 degrees Actual Results: entire row turns black on the screen. A page wide, row high, triangle appears on printed page Expected Results: I would have a single, blank cell with a border. Typed text would be upside down. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Other notes: The results vary the borders added and rotation amount. The background color changes if the font color changes. >From Help-About= Version: 6.4.7.2 Build ID: 1:6.4.7-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65535] Adding a comment in the middle of a word makes it recognised as misspelt by spellchecker
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65535 --- Comment #35 from stragu --- Note that the end of a commented range also breaks the spellcheck. I can think of two options to mostly fix this without breaking other things: When the cursor is inside a word, or when a range is selected in which the end of the range is inside a word: Option 1: ...for no range selection, an inserted comment is moved automatically to the closest word boundary. For a range selection, the end of the range is moved to the end boundary of the last word. (A bit like what Luuk proposed in Comment 3.) Option 2: ...for no range selection, an inserted comment automatically applies to the whole word's range instead. For a range selection, the end of the range is moved to the end boundary of the last word. Both these solutions would circumvent the issue of marking the word as misspelled. I am not sure how much these workarounds would be a problem for different languages and scripts, but I think it would work acceptably well for languages using the Latin script with short words. I would prefer option 2, as I suspect many people who insert a comment inside a word do so to refer to the whole word, and because it seems more consistent in its behaviour. Urmas (Comment 8) mentioned that it might be undesired behaviour to not be able to comment in the middle of the word, but I find it hard to think of cases where it would be that much of an issue (especially when compared to the problem it would fix: broken spellcheck, and comment dataloss). The issue with Justin's solution to "strip the comment character before submitting to spellcheck" (Comment 34) is that the deleting of comments when correcting misspelled words would remain, as far as I understand it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Mouse wheel works fine but no good for big number of lines. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Load a file. 2.Place mouse over vertical scrollbar 'handle' and hold down left mouse button. 3.Slide mouse up or down. 4.Note that file doesn't move. Actual Results: File does not move at all. Expected Results: File should scroll easily up and down. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: I note that this problem very occasionally vanishes for a brief time. It can behave like the computer is under a huge load and can spare only a cycle or two for scrolling. I wasn't so lucky today. But today, in a unique occurrence, I closed the search under the sheet and the scrollbar handle suddenly illuminated and I was able to move it. Five seconds later, things were back to normal and I could not repeat this trick. To clear the problem, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the whole Libreoffice Suite, using the software manager provided in Linux Mint 20.1. Then I tried upgrading to Linux Mint 20.2. Nothing changed in either case. The particular file I was looking at had about 8000 lines, mostly just static numbers, very few formulas. Open the attached file 2. Right Click Hello 3. the context menu contains -> Set language for paragraph 4. If you change the language in the status bar to something different from default, you get Paragraph Style Direct Format. However kind of surprised by the existence of Paragraph Style Direct Format as such (an surely no clue where that can be managed) Clear Direct Formatting doesn't remove.. that's for sure. Open a Graphic Style in the side bar and change the font colour to white in "Font Effects". Now go to the "Font" tab. RESULT: There is no preview. In Draw, you may, for example, want to use a white text with a black shadow (applied in the "Shadowing" tab) as a "highlight". But the preview still remains invisible. In Writer, you may want a white text against a coloured frame or page, so the question of highlighting in the same Paragraph Style dialog does not arise. And in certain cases you may just want a white font to make it invisible on a standard white page. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143356] UI: Default setting autocorrect and replacement not in sync with the active document language
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143356 --- Comment #2 from Telesto --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #1) > It apparently takes the value from tools > options > language settings > > locale setting; the change requires an app restart to become effective. > > User expectation is to follow the document language, which is not > necessarily the same as on the current paragraph/character set per status > bar. I would also not change the autocorrection on every paragraph, at > worst, but use what is defined as default language for documents in tools > > options > language. Not saying that my proposal being 'the magic bullet' only a suggestion. Not agreeing with your interpretation either ;-). Maybe having different persona in mind.. Tools > options > language settings > locale setting * This is not intended as setting you change everyday (where it located suggests that already; buried deeply) * It's configured based on you're system locale at installation by default (so not something that important to be controlled at installation) [fine] * The Locale setting is not simply 'picking a language for your document' setting. Aside from the default document language, it controls currency/ Data patterns and even page format (letter for US English) This is about someone who edits (or creates) documents in different languages (once in a while). So if you write a thesis you might do that in English. However you do live in Netherlands/Germany. You don't change the locale. You want the document to be in English (and having A4) So you change the language of Default PS style or activate DF language And if you start writing in English, you want Autocorrect adjust to that (automatically). Having the replacement list/ Exception list English active. And if you open the Autocorrect -> Options dialog you except some sensible language being active (pressing Cancel doesn't discard!). Which surely odd. see step 9-11 Another idea: the search for "search for proper language' can be reduced by 'setting the in document languages on top? Similar to default locale: Tools > options > language settings > locale setting (system locale is the first entry in the list) Note: the main problem is that Autocorrect doesn't really adapt to context. So wrong replacement tables being active. Or doesn't Autocorrect list adapt while typing? With different PS/DF language set?]. If that's case it's even more logical to open the Autocorrect options dialog with language (replacement list) based on cursor position (language setting). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
