This can only be an enhancement to have an option, not the change that would
force it. So I retitle, in accordance with comment 1.

2021-08-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143947

It seems a value in DATE function defaults to 0 if no number is given. It seems
MS Excel acts in the same way.

Should the default value be 1 instead of 0? In that case the expected result
for the all given examples should be 2006-01-01.

Currently, the value 0 in DATE function gives the previous value of 1 that is
12 for the case of month and in the case of day it is the last day of previous
month.

Dear Lionel Elie Mamane,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37511] copy-paste from Draw to Writer results appearing unexpected styles

2021-08-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37511

Dear sasha.libreoffice,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Dear Luis,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Remote file save to Google drive isn't working yet - at present, it's just in
the testing phase and release to later versions. Therefore, no I didn't open
anything as it's not currently possible.

This report is merely to define that the help definitions seem to create a
circular path and in general, are not easy for a new user - that would be the
type of user who most needs clear concise help functions.

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/120688

This is not actually a true regression, just a pre-existing bug that was only
masked by a side effect of charts being incorrectly marked modified on open.

This is all about export filter not loading properly the OLE objects that may
get unloaded by the memory management in LO. The export reused the obsoleted
references to unloaded objects, which couldn't be exported correctly; and I
even suspect that existing "IsValidObject" testing chart objects validity in
sc/source/filter/xcl97/xcl97rec.cxx might be a hack to "workaround" this actual
filter bug.

I am thankful to paulystefan for this bug and the nice reproducers, that
eventually allowed me to notice the fixed number of object kept in the result.

I am suspecting now that there might be a similar problem elsewhere in our
code, that could be responsible for many "I lost images in a document"
complaints that were impossible to investigate, because there were never a
reliable reproducer. Now I suppose that adding a substantial number of
different images, while reducing GraphicMemoryLimit (or TotalCacheSize) might
allow to find a good reproducing scenario.

When using the DATE function which requires inputs (Year;Month;Day), omitting
one or two inputs (i.e. Month/Day or both) yields incorrect output.

Is this by design?
Explanation would help, otherwise it's a bug, no?

Examples:
=DATE(2006;;) -> 2005-11-30 incorrect / bug?!
=DATE(2006;1;) -> 2005-12-31 incorrect / bug?!
=DATE(2006;;1) -> 2005-12-01 incorrect / bug?!
=DATE(2006;1;1) -> 2006-01-01 correct

Reproducable: new document

As usual, please link to duplicates or solutions etc., online search did
however not easily find something.

Is this software behaviour questionable?

I find that my test document is displayed in the expected way (including page
orientation and size) also by the software version “Calligra Words 3.2.1-9”.

Under which circumstances will the desired clarification be achieved for
further applications finally?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143943] New: [FILEOPEN] XLSB booleans interpreted as numeric formulae

2021-08-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143943

Bug ID: 143943
Summary: [FILEOPEN] XLSB booleans interpreted as numeric
formulae
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.3.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: d...@sheetjs.com

Description:
LibreOffice translates both `BrtCellBool` (record type 4) as well as
`BrtShortBool` (record type 15) to numeric expressions.

Steps to Reproduce:
download and open
https://github.com/SheetJS/notes/raw/main/xlsb_short_records/brt_sst.xlsb

Actual Results:
cell A4 is 1 (formula expression `=TRUE()`)
cell B4 is 0 (formula expression `=FALSE()`)

Expected Results:
Cell A4 is `TRUE` (the value TRUE)
Cell A4 is `FALSE` (the value FALSE)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
XLSB differentiates the literal true (record type 4 `BrtCellBool`) from the
formula =TRUE() (record type 10 `BrtFmlaBool`)

I had fixed some bugs about Mediawiki but I don't remember if I used this or

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143847] Setting a DOCX to multi-page view; affecting other DOCX documents on file open

(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #11)
> The last state should be restored. If DOCX doesn't store this option, the
> default should be single page. +1 for NAB

I'm really confused right now :-) I created the bug report because there is no
single page by default. It simply inherits the view of previously opened
DOCX/DOC file. Which results in kind of erratic behaviour.

If you open a DOCX and set it to multipage view. Close it.. Open a different
DOCX, it will go to multipage view.. simply because that was the last state..

So doesn't do what you say it should do (if I'm reading it correctly), but it's
NAB at the same time?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143941] New: LibreCalc freezes machine when shutting down [1]

Bug ID: 143941
Summary: LibreCalc freezes machine when shutting down [1]
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dpkesl...@gmail.com

Description:
When I use ExitLibreOffice command on pulldown, the user interface window
closes properly, but continuing background processes consume all available
memory... as observed using Microsoft Resource Monitor. Sometimes, after a
couple minutes, the machine will eventually succeed in closing down all Libre
processes... other times the machine hard freezes, not accepting any input.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Calc session w/ 8 column x 8000 row table. 2 hour session occasionally
deleting single row at a time.
2.Use pulldown to ExitLibreOffice command.
3. (Look at software environment described below)

Actual Results:
Interface window closes promptly without issue. Problem is in post-processing
stage. As observed on Resource Monitor graphs, memory usage spikes about 7GB
indicated before machine freezes. Neither CPU nor Disk usage are particularly
heavy. It's memory contention/exhaustion.

Expected Results:
Postclose processing does not consume all available memory, freezing the
machine.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140057] Paragraphs in Writer do not behave according to their format specifications, either default or when overridden on a per paragraph basis

2021-08-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140057

Further to my previous comment, I have come to the tentative conclusion that
there may have been a problem in the template file, since other weird
formatting errors occurred in documents based on it, e.g. a text format applied
ad hoc to an entire paragraph of a built-in style would be applied across the
board to all other paragraphs of that type. Paragraphs that used custom styles
could have Format > Text > (style) applied with no knock-on effects.

Today I have re-built the template from scratch, and so far have had no further
formatting problems.

Crash seen in bibisect 6.4. No crash in bibisect 6.2 or 7.3 master.
It SEEMS to have been fixed in 7.0. I tried bibisecting it, but it is hard to
be confident that these steps have been followed accurately. Plus, the brain
doesn't handle the fact that in this "fixed" case, a crash is marked as bisect
good, and a successful save is marked as bisect bad. Sometimes it took 3
attempts to get a crash.

In any case, I tried 4 times on master and didn't get a crash. So I'll mark as
WORKSFORME.

I think I've found your page now. I was always working from the "styles
selection and maintenance" within the conditional formatting management
facility - a nightmare for the uninitiated.

Now I've "found" the "manage styles" sidebar it becomes a lot clearer.

Some experimentation is called for.

Perhaps a status change to idiot user is appropriate.
Thanks.

faulty-spreadsheet

Here is a spreadsheet that is 897 rows and 9 columns that is really nothing
fancy. If you add a line anywhere in the middle of the existing lines (insert
above or below) and then try to save the change, the spreadsheet crashes.

There is no crash after adding columns or sheets... just lines. And you can add
a line at the end of the text and save just fine. The crash only occurs when
you add a line in the middle of the sheet and try to save.

I've tried creating a new spreadsheet of equal size and cannot reproduce the
issue so I'm not sure what is special about this spreadsheet that causes the
crash.

The issue was reported in launchpad based off of Ubuntu 20.04 and Libreoffice
6.4.7 but it happens easily on 7.1.5 and 7.2.0 rc3.

The corresponding launchpad bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735

I'll attach the faulty spreadsheet as well as the user's system state
information (remember this is relative to 6.4.7, but the same thing happens on
7.2.0)
