https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144196 Mike Kaganski changed: What|Removed |Added CC||er...@redhat.com Keywords||needsUXEval --- Comment #2 from Mike Kaganski --- here is an ambiguity in the feature description that doesn't allow to clearly see if this is a bug or not. The question assumes that "Case sensitive" option of the filters applies to the "No duplications"; but help [1] does not state that; it only tells that (1) Case sensitive "Distinguishes between uppercase and lowercase letters when filtering the data", and (2) No duplication "Excludes duplicate rows in the list of filtered data". So the (1) is only said to apply to the filtering conditions - not to duplication finding? On one hand, this may be seen as "works as designed"; on the other hand, it's likely that users would expect the different behavior. It's interesting what other spreadsheet applications do in this case. Adding Eike to CC; also asking advice of UX team. Without FF running, a launch of the help will open the new browser into the same task view desktop where LO is running. But if FF is already open in another task view virtual 'desktop'--launching the help article (local or online web delivered) will jump to that desktop. Chrome, MS Edge do not behave that way and open a new browser when needed on the active task view 'desktop'. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144170 --- Comment #4 from Nath --- thank you for your response. I tested your response and it does work but it requires an extra step so I still think the system is not working properly. If I select the row with the Sum and then select the next row with the additional number and go to a blank cell and use the Sum function it does not return the sum. Based on your response, I now have to highlight the sum cell and include the other sum number. I think that is a silly extra step. I know this is no Excel but that is not how it works in excel. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107081] LOCALHELP: Index: backgrounds; inserting form Gallery
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107081 --- Comment #1 from Rafael Lima --- Hi Regina, I was testing the instructions in the help page you mentioned and none of them work. I'll give more details for each section: In "Inserting an object as a copy" it is possible to fix the instructions because inserting objects still works in all LO applications. In "Inserting an object as a link" it looks like it is no longer possible to insert objects as links, so this section should be removed. In "Inserting an object as a background graphic" the options "Insert - Background - Page or Paragraph" are only available in Writer. However, based on my testing they don't seem to be working. In "Inserting an object as a texture (pattern) for another object" the instructions did not work at all. Has this feature been removed? In short, it seems that from the 4 use cases, only the first still works. Could you confirm if this is indeed the case? As for inserting objects as links I found this page saying that holding Ctrl + Shift and dragging the object into the document inserts it as a link (this worked in my tests): https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/shared/guide/dragdrop_fromgallery.html -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

I wiped my user profile and the only thing I did afterwards was to enable experimental features (so I could use Firebird with LO Base and work on the database). No changes. 3. The string I get in Help-About libreOffice is Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win. Have no idea what it means. 4. Removed all fonts downloaded in the last couple of days (only 2 actually). No changes. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33749] Inconsistencies with Help texts, Tooltips, Translations regarding Cell Merging and Splitting in Calc
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33749 Rafael Lima changed: What|Removed |Added Keywords||needsUXEval --- Comment #21 from Rafael Lima --- Hi! This is a very old bug that hasn't been taken care of. In my opinion this is not a Documentation bug because the problem is with the nomenclature used in the commands in LO Calc. The use of "Split cells" is incorrect and "Unmerge cells" is a better terminology. Also, in MS Excel the command is called "Unmerge cells". https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/merge-and-unmerge-cells-5cbd15d5-9375-4540-907f-c673a93fcedf I believe the command should be renamed accordingly both in the Core: https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/UI/CalcCommands.xcu ... and in the Help page / Documentation: https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/scalc/guide/table_cellmerge.html Since this is a change to the name of a much used command, I would like to hear the opinions of others on this matter before proceeding with a fix. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143500] Calc EDITING - Add option to keep the original selection after "Find and Replace / Replace All"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143500 --- Comment #4 from Steve Magruder --- I support this as an additional option. I was just running into this a few days ago where I was wanting to do two Replace Alls on the same column, and before doing the second, I had to select all the cells of the column again. That seems a waste of time. If I could have a way for it to maintain the full selection, I can see that saving me time across my many uses of Calc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

User doesn't expect > it. User can enable Header/Footer when HE/SHE want to print the spreadsheet. Yes, it's always a surprise for the user when "page one" suddenly gets printed on their documents. This header/footer is per default set as on. There's no way to know this until you print/export your fist spreadsheet, whereafter the search begins why these words are included.
