[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148343] New: EDITING an ODBC database (MS Access and Quickbase via QuNect ODBC for QuickBase) crashes LibreOffice
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148343 Bug ID: 148343 Summary: EDITING an ODBC database (MS Access and Quickbase via QuNect ODBC for QuickBase) crashes LibreOffice Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.4.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Base Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: cla...@qunect.com Description: Base crashes after editing a record and moving the cursor off of the edited record. Just add a few records and it will most likely crash. It will also crash if you navigate around the records enough without editing. You can also cause a crash by deleting records and navigating back and forth through the record set. Steps to Reproduce: On a Windows machine install QuNect ODBC for QuickBase from this link: https://qunect.com/download/QuNect.exe follow configuration instructions here: https://qunect.com/flash/configure.html If you prefer you can use the Linux version of the driver and get the same results. The Linux driver instructions are available here: https://qunect.com/linux.html The latest version of the Linux driver is available here: https://qunect.com/download/linux/64real/Rocky8/2022/release/libqunect64.so configure your DSN with a username of: d...@qunect.com and a usertoken of: (note this is not a password but it is a usertoken) byj7yu_bahz_0_dyemitzb53wbqmbxkcub6du3eehb and a Quickbase server of: qunect.quickbase.com 1.Open BASE and in the Database Wizard select the bottom radio button "Connect to an existing database." 2.Choose ODBC from the dropdown 3.Choose the 64 bit DSN you configured above 4. Click Finish 5. Open the "Simple Table" 6. Add records, then delete a few, and then navigate around the record set 7. For good measure do a few Refreshes and Rebuilds Actual Results: LibreOffice Base crashes. Expected Results: Records are edited and saved to Quickbase Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Line 883 in OResultSet.cxx setStmtOption(SQL_ATTR_FETCH_BOOKMARK_PTR, reinterpret_cast(aBookmark.getArray())); gets a SQLLEN pointer (8 bytes) from aBookmark which is only a 4 byte array. I see this in Visual Studio when I set a breakpoint in my ODBC driver (QuNect ODBC for QuickBase). So the bookmark that my ODBC driver retrieves from the pointer defined by SQL_ATTR_FETCH_BOOKMARK_PTR, an ODBC statement attribute, is invalid. It's often a very large number, way beyond any valid value. MS Access ODBC connections also report -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148342] New: FILESAVE DOCX Shape 'puzzle' is exported as rectangle
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148342 Bug ID: 148342 Summary: FILESAVE DOCX Shape 'puzzle' is exported as rectangle Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.4.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de Start a text document and insert a shape 'Puzzle'. Save it as DOCX and reopen the saved file. The shape has become a rectangle. The error is in ShapeExport::WriteCustomShape(). The condition for using DMLPresetShapeExporter is wrong. At that time it is already known, that the shape needs to be exported as custGeom. But DMLPresetShapeExporter is used anyway. And there msfilter::util::GetOOXMLPresetGeometry("puzzle") is called. That method has no result "fail" but returns type "rect" in case the shape type does not exist. Besides the wrong condition, I think it should be considered to let GetOOXMLPresetGeometry return an empty string in case no preset is found, so that the caller can detect this case and react appropriate. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148338] New: Writer Mail Merge Failure with one-letter domain names
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148338 Bug ID: 148338 Summary: Writer Mail Merge Failure with one-letter domain names Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.4.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: erikf...@gmail.com Description: 7.4.0.0 April 2 dev version successfully mail merges and emails, but fails to send email for single letter domain names such as "@q.com". Further, the email function quickly flashes through the process without pausing upon completion to show statistics on how many emails were sent, how many failed, with a detail list of the email address used (as open office used to for same function). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create email database with at least one address with q.com as the mail server. You can use erikf...@q.com as I confirm this address does not exist on q.com 2. Create a document with the email field visible 3. Process the mail merge, note correct email address (with q.com) in document 4. Select the email function, identifying the email field 5. Observe mail process to apparently finish correctly, without any reported error. 6. Manually using an email client, send an email to the q.com address used in the mail merge. Note the quick response from q.com for "address not found", yet note that no such message was received for the mail merged process. In the "open office" version, this would have resulted in an error reported in the mail merge email dialogue as "invalid email address". Libre Office Writer provides no such warning. The workaround I discovered and used in Open OFfice was to place a space after the single letter domain, which somehow Open Office accepted and successfully sent. In the example "erikfjer@q .com" was processed successfully by open office writer mail merge. This workaround does not seem to work with Libre Office Writer Mail Merge, as the q.com server didn't respond with an error and Libre Office didn't report any issues either. Actual Results: No reported errors, email to q.com domain failed. Expected Results: Some form of warning about an invalid email address, at least what Libre Office (and open office before it) considered invalid - an address with a single letter domain name. Single letter domain names, while rare, are legal and should be accepted. Also, the email process should provide statistics on how many emails were sent and how many failed. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148296] Spreadsheets stop working
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148296 --- Comment #4 from Ronny --- Hi good day Julien and Stuart, I think you are correct that the "Print to PDF" component might be causing the problem. As you mentioned it, I remember that I also have a similar problem when I use the Bank Mode feature of my Avast Secure Web Browser. As soon as I want to print a document to a PDF file the Secure Web Browser starts to freeze. It does not matter if I use the Nitro Pro or the Microsoft Print to PDF printing options, they both cause the browser to freeze, and the only way to get out is to close the app via the Task Manager, nothing else will work. So the common denominator here appears to be the "Print to PDF" feature. I hope this was useful. Kind regards, Ronny. === -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148296 --- Comment #3 from V Stuart Foote --- (In reply to Julien Nabet from comment #2) from OP > I found out what causes the problem. If I start the PDF editing program > Nitro Pro before I start LibreOffice (Spreadsheet, or Writer, or any one of > them), LibreOffice freezes. But if I start LibreOffice first, everything > works normal. So the solution is simple Start LibreOffice first . > > Thank you once again." > > > V Stuart: what next move should we apply here? I mean, we're not going to > buy Nitro Pro to give it a try, should we put WFM or do you have another > idea? I would suspect Nitro Pro to have a print-to-PDF component that registers as an active printer when run. LibreOffice would attempt to read the "printer" details, even "querying" the printer for its page settings. Since it is hanging, not crashing, for anything definitive we would need a WinDbg back trace with symbols [1] of the attached soffice.bin process when it hangs with Nitro Pro running. Ronny, or someone with Nitro Pro installed, would need to configure for that and then provide. Either forcing a dunp (of the hung process), or interactively from the WinDbg console with a "~* kp" command [2]. =-ref-= [1] https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg [2] The Mozilla folks provide some help for poking at FireFox. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148314 --- Comment #6 from Julien Nabet --- I gave a quick try on pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148333] New: EDITING: LO is slower on Linux than on Windows
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148333 Bug ID: 148333 Summary: EDITING: LO is slower on Linux than on Windows Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.2.1.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: christianw_lehm...@arcor.de Description: The desktop has 16 GB RAM, the operating system is OpenSuSe Leap 15.3. It is host to a VM which has 4 GB RAM; the guest is Windows 10. The notebook has 16 GB RAM, the operating system is Windows 10. On all three systems, LO 7.2 is installed. I have an ODT file of 1.8 MiB (716 pages). Editing the file on OpenSuSe is exceedingly slow: I hit a key, and it takes half a second until the character appears in the file. On both Windows installations - thus even in the virtual machine! - this problem does not exist. My technical understanding is insufficient to know whether 1) OpenSuSe is just so much worse in memory management than Windows, or else 2) the LO implementation for Linux is so much worse than the implementation for Windows. Needless to say, the present bug report is relevant only if #2 obtains. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load a really large ODT file. 2. Start typing in it. Actual Results: Appearance of characters on the screen takes longer than my typing. Expected Results: There should be no delay between a keystroke and its display. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148314] File corruption after crash
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148314 --- Comment #5 from Simon --- Created attachment 179287 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=179287=edit Problem file All data is public - nothing private. I update the file weekly with new data and sometimes elaborate the formula. Have done this over two years, and this week was nothing special, just updating the data when the crash occurred. All was working perfectly and all formula were correct and giving non-error values before. Suggest you use any spare space on any sheet for a simple increment formula to add 1 to previous cell, then extend it. Found cells repeat first value. I was using v7.3, I think v7.2 is suspect too, same thing happened. First crash occurred as I was extending a formula, second crash (on an uncorrupted file) as I was Pasting Special (Values only) a large block of numbers. So no clues there. Crash report set to be auto-sent to you, so dig that out. Other oddities =na() gives 0 all LINEST() functions giving error values, but cells that use those values were still showing the original values cursor around selected cell was missing input area did weird things other formula extended gave zeroes when the answer was clearly not zero Unfortunately after the crash and recovery I saved before I found this stuff happening. Good Luck with the search for the bug - I am going to have to stick with 6.4 for the foreseeable, which so far has been flawless. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
