You're right, AllowEditReadOnlyDocs works differently and documents saved as
readonly cannot be overwritten.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 150538] New: Spreadsheet crashes in V. 7.4.0.3 & earlier versions

2022-08-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150538

Bug ID: 150538
Summary: Spreadsheet crashes in V. 7.4.0.3 & earlier versions
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bs...@protonmail.com

Description:
Spreadsheet freezes & crashes when working with a multitab, large sheeet.
Problem first seen in 7.305.?? Stable... , I upgraded to latest version:
 f85e47c Version 7.4.0.3, tag libreoffice-7.4.0.3
Problem persists. Some small recent data loss.
Contact me if you need more detail.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create several large (40 column x 400+ row) sheets in ~6 tabs
2.Highlight/copy ~20 column x 50 rows down in a sheet
3.Calc should freeze & lose the operation data.
*... Operation attempted with mouse highlighting & CTRL button drag/drop

Actual Results:
I lost some small edits to the sheet.
I repeated this error consistently in 7.3.5.?? and fresh install of v. 7.4.0.3

Expected Results:
Calc should have dragged & dropped the cells without freeze/crash

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Issue seems recent ~ v. 7.3.xx ...
I have used Libre Office without issue for years.
Problem is serious. Should be addressed ASAP to preserve LibreOffice reputation
for reliability.

This atill fails in LO 7.4 - previously entered cell contents from the same
column are still not recognized when entry is started.

To reproduce:

Enter some values into a spreadsheet.
Add a few rows (or ven just one).
Begin typing the same entry in an added row below the original - the pattern
should be prompted as a repeat (highlighted). - This is what is not happening
for me.

LO 7.4.0, Xubuntu 22.04.1.

I shared the files attached here with another individual running Linux. My
machine has Arch, but I believe they are using another distro. They were able
to immediately confirm the behavior described above. Additionally, unhiding all
columns immediately restored normal performance - but just for that particular
worksheet. Again, this behavior was able to be replicated on another machine.

Let me know if there is anything I could provide to help further debug this

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147386] Calc - Text Import from csv - 'Fields' preview is invisible

2022-08-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147386

Still happening in 7.3.2.2.

And a major frustration because of what is probably a separate bug:

I regularly import data in the same format to the same sheet. All the tries
appear to show that they remember the import settings correctly, but about half
the tries somehow move the division at column 19 to column 18 in the actual
import result - even though the preview shows 19. I have to move the preview
divider to col.20, do an import which divides at col.20, then move it back to
col.19 which then works.

This would be much easier if I could see the data, but it is so predictable I
can now do it blind.

Oh you just discovered another issue (Appimage, fuse, fuse3). I cannot test it
myself for some time but we should address it somehow before closing this
report.

You may install daily master from debs from
https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html
It will keep current LO - which may be snap.

And that's another test you may make.
You may remove all LO then install 7.3.latest from snap (sudo snap install
libreoffice) and test, then remove LO then install from apt using PPA
repository (can be easily found how).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142236] Fallback font for the UI does not work correctly for numbers, when the system font is lacking western characters

2022-08-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142236

A fallback font is a reserve typeface containing symbols for as many Unicode
characters as possible. When a display system encounters a character that is
not part of the repertoire of any of the other available fonts, a symbol from a
fallback font is used instead.

The problem is a usual layout loop problem, with regression point in the 5.3

Workaround

Rainer, the answers on your questions:

1) "Névtelen 1.odt" is produces with:

Version: 7.3.5.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 30(Build:2)
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: hu-HU (hu_HU.UTF-8); UI: hu-HU
Ubuntu package version: 1:7.3.5-0ubuntu0.22.04.1
Calc: threaded

2) This document never seen document processor other the LibreOffice.

3) There is a "Previous state of the document". Steps to reproduce the error
manually:
- Open the "Previous state of the document"
- Set page size to 14,8×42 cm.
- Insert a new frame the the first page: 1. width: 14,8 cm, anchor to page,
top: 21 cm from entire page 2. borders none + 0,7 cm, columns: 2 with 0,78 cm
gap.
- Cat the content form 2. page and insert to newly created frame.
- Save the document.
- Open it. It hangs.

4) And a new information. I experimented and found a workaround: Instead of
setting border to 0,7 cm I set Wrap left, right, top, bottom to 0,7 cm and the
hanging is gone. Maybe the error will be around the border settings. See the
attached "Workaround" file.

Bug ID: 150536
Summary: LibreOffice (all Programs) doesn't remember the last
window size after reopening
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: a.b...@berg-kommunikation.de

Description:
Normally, a LibreOffice program always starts with the last saved window size,
e.g. fullsize. The new version 7.4.0.3 does not do this.

I also renamed the "user" folder (to %Appdata%) for testing. The program then
starts in full size the first time, but it is reduced in size when you restart
it.

I tested it with Writer, Calc and Impress.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Starting Writer, the window is not in fullsize after reopen the program.

Actual Results:
This is already the result

Expected Results:
Fullsize as usually.

Reproducible: Always

But a document saved from Sample " Previous state of the document" with this

We need to know the GPU and driver details. And a screen clip or two of the
issue how "SVGs are poorly rendered" would help.

And when you say Skia do you mean Skia based Vulkan (replacement for OpenGL) or
do you mean Skia with software only aka raster rendering?

If your issue is with Skia Vulkan rendering, do you otherwise have good looking
SVGs with Skia raster software only rendering. Toggle between the two modes of
Skia rendering from the Tools -> Options -> View "Graphics Output" panel by
selecting the 'Force Skia software rendering'. When checked that disables the
Vulkan (aka OpenGL) accelerated rendering.

Please copy and post the Help -> About details for the install having issue
with SVGs, and also the "skia.log" from your user profile, e.g.
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\cache\skia.log

test ODP with SVG images inserted to single slide

Can not confirm with 7.4.0.3 or current master. The attached ODP with a single
slide and 3 SVG attachments pans cleanly in Skia Raster (software based)
rendeering, and with an occasional cache glitch with Skia Vulkan (hardware
accelerated) rendering. Quality matches GDI (CPU only rendering) or GDI
w/Hardware Acceleration (CPU calls to GPU)--but the Skia based rendering is
smoother pan.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 150534] New: [EDITING] Hiding Recently Expanded Columns Results in Significant Performance Loss

2022-08-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150534

Bug ID: 150534
Summary: [EDITING] Hiding Recently Expanded Columns Results in
Significant Performance Loss
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dylanwolt...@mailbox.org

Description:
Following the expanded columns in 7.4, new columns appeared alongside my
previously hidden range of columns. I hid these columns for each worksheet in
the workbook. Doing so resulted in significantly reduced performance, such as
having to wait for the program to catch up to my typing. My CPU usage will hit
80%+ when typing alongside the reduced performance.

For reference, this particular workbook:
- Has 16 worksheets
- Uses minimal formulas
- Each worksheet has < 500 rows.

I additionally have reference files which highlight the change in performance
before and after hiding columns.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Hide most columns across several worksheets in a single workbook.
2.Typing and general performance will be sluggish and consume high CPU use.

Actual Results:
Reduced performance and increased CPU usage. As I type, each key takes a few
seconds to visually appear. Once I finish typing, text eventually appears

Expected Results:
No change in performance.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
I also tried loading the document in safe mode to see if any differences were
noticed, but performance remain impacted.

Menu Data - Text to Columns in B1 works as expected: one number in each column.

After Copy B1, Paste Special (), press Values Only button, and
CHAR(9) is replaced by a Tab space in the cell. But these spaces are seen only
in the Input line, not in the cell itself. Notwithstanding, menu Data - Text to
Columns works as expected: one number in each column.
