This got better after: https://git.libreoffice.org/core/commit/57d9cc81b058757421cd082e5dbe32a919716807 tdf#127806: RTF import: use shape dimensions for pib picture But: this is a grouped shape originally, and now there are two instances of the blue-orange chart and its legend image. One set at the top of the first page as grouped shape: - This is anchored incorrectly to the first empty paragraph of the document below the TextFrame with the title. - There is an extra empty rectangle image below it, similar in size as the shape containing the blue-orange legend. And another set as two individual, overlapping images at the top of the second page, these seem to be anchored to the second-to-bottom paragraph, before the page break. This is a correct anchoring, for the wrong objects. Let's refocus this bugreport to the correct import of grouped shapes from RTF. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150747 Bug ID: 150747 Summary: LibreWriter no longer remembers last used window size nor position Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.4.0.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: chicoth...@live.com Description: LibreWriter 7.4.0.3 — In prior releases LibreWriter would always remember the size and position of its window from one session to the next. With 7.4.0.3 Libre no longer remembers last used window position and size. Having to manually reposition and resize Libre every time I open it is extremely irritating and a waste of time. Please correct this so LibreWriter once again remembers its last used window size and position. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch LibreWriter 2. Position and size window to your liking 3. Close LibreWriter 4. Relaunch LibreWriter 5. Note that all windows (edit window, styles pallet) have returned to their default size and position Actual Results: The LibreWriter window and pallets returned to their default size and position, requiring manually resetting the windows and pallets to my liking. Expected Results: LibreWriter should remember its last used window and pallet position and size. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115439 --- Comment #46 from V Stuart Foote --- So just need to do it manually when UI is scaled >= 175%, the automated resampling and rendering of the SVG *remains* inferior to the project's deployed PNG at the default 100%, i.e. 96dpi resolution. I just did an comparison, and the png-version really > looks terrible on an high-dpi monitor with 175% scale. > > As far as I remember, SVG primarily was an issue on Linux? So can't we just > make SVG default on Windows? Not at all! There is no means currently to directly render the SVG into the GUI, meaning they will always be rendered to a bitmap and held in config (per user profile) for the display resolution in use. Look in %APPDATA%\LibreOffice\4\cache for the entire SVG icon theme rendered to PNG at scale. For performance the entire SVG of the active icon theme is parsed and the corresponding PNGs built on first launch. The project deploys resolution appropriate 100% (so 96pdi) scaled PNG at three icon sizes small (sc 16x16) large (lc 24x24) and extra large (32 32x32). They are hand lay ups from the source SVG. They render correctly for most non-HDPI/non-scaledUI and remain appropriate for UI or os/DE scaling up to about 150%. They then start to look pixelated at 150% or above. Since 96-120dpi displays remains the norm for the vast majority of users there is no justification for doing more with the SVG. Only if your os/DE is being scaled (as response to HiDPI, or by user setting) does it make sense to use SVG. Do it manually, the automated resampling and rendering of the SVG is inferior to the system deployed PNG at the default 100%, i.e. 96dpi resolution. The mechanism for "detection" of HiDPI (and so automated use of a resampled set of SVG icons)is "thresholded" at 168 dpi. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

That way it would be much easier to get a consistent layout on our documents. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100164 --- Comment #6 from bugzil...@cb-computerservice.at --- Does LibreOffice really "only" support scaling in 50% steps? The comment 2 would make me think so, and that would explain a lot of issues in HiDPI screens. Windows allows to adjust the scaling in 25% steps (100%, 125%, 150%, 175%, 200% aso). I personally use 175% and a lot of UI-Elements are too small. I think, that could be the root cause of this. I was about to write my own bugreport when I saw this one (so one less dupe :D) The problem actually is not that the box/switch (whatever you call the "+") is "unresponsive" but simply that its very hard to "hit" on a High-DPI screen. As you can see on my screenshot, the switch is in general very small compared to the much bigger Column-headers below. But to make it even worse, not all pixels of the small box are "clickable". If you click the lower or right pixels of the box, nothing happens. You really have to be extremely precise to hit the center of the box, to achieve the expected result. I'm quiet new on the high-dpi-front (having that screen only since a few weeks) and this is one of many problems that arrive on high-dpi-screens, but so far one of the most urgent ones, because you really end up clicking that damn "+" or "-" several times every time, because its so hard to hit it right. As said, there are many GUI-Elements on LibO that doesn't scale right on High-DPI. Whatever: I can confirm, that the print-dialog still doesn't remember its size (on Windows). And being an owner of a high-dpi-screen (since a couple of weeks), this is kind of a problem to me too (not the only one, not the biggest one, but it is :D) Remembering Window-Sizes (or any kind of GUI-Sizes) seems to be extremely hard in LibO in general (I have other bugs open due to those issues). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 150744] New: Adapt row height takes too long
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150744 Bug ID: 150744 Summary: Adapt row height takes too long Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.5.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: p...@pfortin.com Similar to bug 124098; but on 7.5 Can we make optimal False by default? I'm seeing this problem. In addition, if I select the entire sheet, then drag a cell edge to resize them all, it's fast; but if I double-click the cell edge, it takes a long time too. While it may not produce an exact match of the previous setting, dragging an edge is fast... Maybe Calc should remember the previous cell height and use that when double-clicked after a resize since it's likely the user intends to restore the previous size... If they double-click a second time, that's likely a clue they want the automated/slow process... At least, this would avoid the long delay; and introduce only a minor time saving minor extra step... Or, ask if the slow process is really wanted... Time is of the essence. HTH -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
