Could that be actually e.g. "MIN1" (i.e., the last character being not capital
"i", but digit "one"?) Because in 7.4, with column count increased to 16K, MIN
is now a legitimate *column name*, with the last column having name "XFD",
while previously it was "AMJ" (7.3 allowed to enable "very large sheets" in
Calc's "Defaults" options).

Dear Roland Greim,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Dear marius,

Thorsten, all screenshots so far have been shared by users reporting using the
gtk3 VCL (see Description and comments 7 and 8).

I just tested using kf5 and qt5 VCLs (with the tweak for propagating GTK themes
to QT5 apps, described here:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/706528/qt-apps-stopped-inheriting-gtk-themes/748186#748186)
and I couldn't reproduce the bug. So I believe the issue was always GTK-only
and the fix for bug 137341 was enough.

The plus-cursor state is needed, when you want to add a shape to the Gallery.
Only in that state you can add the shape to the Gallery. In the state, where
you see the shape, you cannot get it into the Gallery.

Currently the different modes are triggered by timing. If you first press CTRL
and then drag immediately, you will see the shape. If you first click and wait
some time before start dragging, you will get the plus-cursor.

I agree, that this could be improved. A solution needs to take care, that
dragging to Gallery still works.

I'm working on an OTP template with a few slides. I pressed the "Clone
Formatting" button on a certain slide, switched to another slide, applied the
formatting to some element, and went on to perform some other operations such
as copy and pasting, moving boxes around etc.

Now, somehow, switching between slides, I see my mouse pointer in the
paint-bucket shape, and clicking objects applies some formatting to them, as
though clone-formatting was enabled. And - it doesn't go away even when I
format something. The clone formatting button is marked as disabled and
depressed.

Pressing the Esc key doesn't get rid of the Clone Formatting mode.

Locale: fa-IR (en_US.UTF-8); UI: fa-IR

I am setting the bug status to NEEDINFO, as we need more details to find the
root of the problem.

This can be a font problem. You should provide the details of the font that you
are using for the Linux desktop. For example, "Borna Rayaneh" fonts that their
name start with "B", lack English glyphs, and that usually causes problems.

Also, please go to the "Hello > About LibreOffice", and provide the details of
your platform by clicking on the button near "Version Information".

Please also provide the output of this command: "locale".

Other than that, please attach the sample .ods file you have created. This will
be also helpful, because there are many ways to achieve these digits. For
example, one might type ۱ instead of 1, and that can also cause problems.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151046] New: Formulas fail for named ranges with less than 8 characters

2022-09-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151046

Bug ID: 151046
Summary: Formulas fail for named ranges with less than 8
characters
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: neme...@wienfluss.net

Description:
After upgrading from LO7.3.6 to LO7.4.1 two spreadsheets I use on a regular
basis failed to calculate correctly. The files consist of several sheet and an
overview page that uses formulas with INDIRECT() in combination with several
named ranges.

Several hours of debugging later, it boils down to named ranges having a
minimum name length of 8 characters now. So named ranges already defined, using
a shorter name, are failing more or less silently. The formula just results in
"#VALUE!".

Renaming the ranges and using longer names resolved the issue.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a calc file with LO7.3 (or earlier).
2. Define a named range (e.g. "MINI").
3. Use the named range for some calculations and confirm it works.
4. Open the file with LO7.4. Results break.

Actual Results:
The formulas failed and faulty results where calculated.

Expected Results:
If a minimum name length for named ranges is required, Calc should warn users
when opening files using named ranges with shorter names.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151041] Changing right page margin changes horizontal scrolling position

2022-09-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151041

For me, this a very unexpected behaviour. I do something in one area and a
certain context and get thrown to a completely different context. This is not
how I understand the principle of the least astonishment.

> What happens when you fill the page with text, position the cursor near the
> end
> of a line and then apply the margin change?

Depending on the resulting text, the h-scroll position changes so that the
insertion mark is visible. This confirms your words "the edit focus has shifted
the vcl canvas view to follow the edit cursor of an empty paragraph". But this
is not what I'd expect. This changes the context too much. What if I missed the
desired margin and want to correct it again? All of a sudden, I'm somewhere
else and need some seconds to realize what just happened.

My expectation would be that the visible part of the page does not change after
working with the margin ruler -- even if the insertion mark gets out of view.
After I move the insertion mark (by typing a letter or by moving it with the
arrow keys), I'd expect the insetion mark to become visible because now the
insertion mark is my mental focus.

There are many ways to know if someone has blocked you on SnapChat. For
instance, if they never respond to your snaps, this might mean they've been
busy or away from their phone for a while. You can also check whether they've
muted their profile, which means you won't receive any Snapchat notifications
from them. Also, you can find some special spy apps to see if someone has

Your suggestion isn't clear for me.

Do you want to assign one Page style for several sheets at once? But you can do
it right now. Just select all needed sheets and double click on needed Page
style -> it will assigned for all selected sheets.

Or may be you think you can't assign different Page styles for different
sheets? It is possible right now too. Just select sheet and just assign to it
any existing style

So, please explain more detail your suggestion. Thanks

Don't see much of an issue, it is self documenting what has happened. You've
made a change to page layout setting a margin, and the edit focus has shifted
the vcl canvas view to follow the edit cursor of an empty paragraph.

What happens when you fill the page with text, position the cursor near the end
of a line and then apply the margin change?

With recent master nightly, the view pane follows the edit cursor focus. That
is expected behavior--follow the edit cursor and pan when the page does not fit
in the current view pane. Otherwise you are hunting for the edit cursor.

IMHO => NAB and definitely a => WF for any change.

I can confirm that this bug is still present in 7.4.1.2. The text box behaves
as expected apart from the overflowed text hanging below it. The overflowed
text is attached to the text box & can be moved around with the box.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151045] New: LibreOffice 7.4.1.2 Build: 3c58a8f3a960df8bc8fd77b461821e42c061c5f0 No PDF Print To File

Bug ID: 151045
   Summary: LibreOffice 7.4.1.2 Build:
3c58a8f3a960df8bc8fd77b461821e42c061c5f0 No PDF Print
To File
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dean_in_murphy...@yahoo.com

LibreOffice: 7.4.1.2-2.x86_64
Build: 3c58a8f3a960df8bc8fd77b461821e42c061c5f0

OS: PCLinuxOS
KDE: plasma-desktop-5.25.5-1
Kernel: 5.19.9
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics

In the former version of LibreOffice (7.4.0.3-3.x86_64) I could print
to a PDF file.

In the current version of LibreOffice (7.4.1.2-2.x86_64) when I try
to print to a PDF file, LibreOffice 7.4.1.2-2.x86_64 crashes and goes
through a "recover document" process.

In the next version of LibreOffice, I'd really like to be able to print
to PDF again.

Sincerely,
Dean

You could still do that, and just have the status bar line number displaying
blank when the cursor was in a table.

The steps to reproduce here are different from both Bug 149510 and Bug 125543.

Also, this makes it sound like a recent regression:
> This has broken in 7.4.1.1, it was fine in 7.4.1.0.

I don't consider this bug a duplicate. Even though the fix of setting an
absolute minimum window size may workaround all three of them, I suspect there
are different places in the code for each of these where the dimensions are
getting reset. That would make it three different bugs. At any rate, there
should be three different tests. I'm resetting bug state to UNCONFIRMED.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151044] New: [gtk4] unable to reach some menu items in long menus on small screens

2022-09-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151044

Bug ID: 151044
Summary: [gtk4] unable to reach some menu items in long menus
on small screens
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kosd...@genodeftest.de

Description:
On a computer with a small screen, I cannot reach the lowest menu items using
the mouse. Scrolling does not work.

This is a regression compared to the gtk3 version.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have a small computer screen (1366 x 768 in my case)
2. Open LibreOffice with
3. Open any long menu, e.g. the "view" menu

Actual Results:
Unable to reach the element at the bottom of the menu. Scrolling does not work.
There are no "down" arrows or anything to enable scrolling the menu without the
scroll wheel (those down/up arrow buttons are present in the gtk3 version).

Note that the gtk4 version shows a scrollbar but I cannot interact with it.

Expected Results:
Be able to reach the menu items at the bottom of the menu. Preferably by two
different ways:
1. scrolling the mouse wheel (as in the gtk3 version)
2. up/down buttons at the edge of the menu (as in the gtk3 version)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Both of the following versions are affected:

Version: 7.4.0.3
Build ID: 40(Build:3)
CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 5.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk4
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
Calc: threaded

Version: 7.4.1.2
Build ID: 40(Build:2)
CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 5.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk4
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
Calc: threaded

Please note: If started with the default backend gtk3, the issue is not
present.
