https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152176 --- Comment #4 from Malte S --- Hallo, as i stated in my initial comment, every version since >=7.1.0 has this issue. I pointed out 7.1.0 because i was able to track it down that the issue is located in some commit between 7.0.6.2 and 7.1.0.0-alpha1 to make the search in the code easier and to reduce the number of potential commits. But i can clearly confirm that the current version 7.4.3. shows the same phenomena. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

I edited the document and then 'x'd out, expecting the popup asking if I wanted to save using .odt format. It froze and was not responding. I checked Task Manager to see if there was something else causing memory, cpu or disk issues. From the graph, it looked like there HAD been, but that there were no issues currently. I checked running processes, and saw that Microsoft Word was running (which I did not expect, since I did not open it in Word). This is an older laptop, and does have some performance issues. So I stopped several Runtime Broker processes, the Word process, and a couple of others that I don't remember. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152272] New: wrong properties dialog for print to file / paper size limited on print to file
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152272 Bug ID: 152272 Summary: wrong properties dialog for print to file / paper size limited on print to file Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.3.7.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Printing and PDF export Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: li...@hkopf.de >From time to time I need to export 2 pages in format A4 to one A3 landscape page. On the latest official version of LibreOffice on Kubuntu 20.04 I was able to select A3 from the properties settings of the "print to file"-printer. On 7.3.7.2 on Kubuntu 22.04 this does not work respectively only with a workaround. When I click on die properties button when the "print to file"-printer is selected, the properties of the physical standard printer are shown. As this one only can print to A4, I cannot select A3 anymore. For the "print to file"-printer I would expect all possibilities of this virtual printer in the properties dialog - or none, but the possibility so select all possibilities of the "print to file"-printer below in the page layout section of the printing dialog. This also is not the case as long as the physical standard printer does not support printing to A3. Workaround: I installed a printer which can print to A3. After making it standard an restarting LibreOffice the properties settings of the "print to file"-printer show this printer where I can select A3. As my physical printer normally should be the standard printer I have to switch back the same way. (The cups-ppd virtual printer creates big bitmap PDF files which I don't want.) => BUG: Wrong settings dialog after clicking on the properties button for the "print to file"-printer. I hope I translated the German terms correctly: Eigenschaften <=> properties Einstellungen <=> settings In Datei drucken ... <=> print to file ... Perhaps this is a duplicate, but then I used the wrong search terms. Thanks in advance! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

You confirmed the bug I was reporting The macro Test1 sorts colmuns A, B & C by index 1 (column B) correctly. The macro Test2 is supposed to sort columns D, E & F by index 4 (column E) but it does not. Columns D, E & F are equal to columns A, B & C. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152184] macOS: dark mode: Application Colors > Color Scheme should automatically follow System Settings > Appearance
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152184 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added CC||vsfo...@libreoffice.org --- Comment #5 from V Stuart Foote --- The LibreOffice 'Application Colors' "LibreOffice" color scheme is not sufficiently granular to address all elements of the UI. But what is there is set to "Automatic" and will respond to the os/DE provided theme color actually exposed to LibreOffice. On the other hand, the current "LibreOffice Dark" color scheme (bug 141986) used many hard coded color assignments, and was necessary because both Windows and macOS require a lot of missing native code be implemented to fully read os/DE provided color theme. Additionally, the application colors are fully in user control and they can be manually reset from "Automatic" to any UI colors they'd like, and to save and reapply as a personal color scheme. Meaning, we already have all that is needed. A change to switch to the fixed color "LibreOffice Dark" color scheme would not improve things cross platform. Rather, improving the framework for the Application Colors and implementing the native code needed to fully respond to os/DE provided color theme would be better in the long run. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Yes, that. What I see: 1. after opening the file, View -> Show Whitespace is unticked, 2. added two page breaks to get a 3-page document, 3. after ticking View -> Show Whitespace, there's no difference, 4. switched to Single-page View, 5. after unticking View -> Show Whitespace, the 3-page document is shown on one page. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152270] New: macOS: Dark Mode: change in System Settings > Appearance Light | Dark should automatically switch Application Colors
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152270 Bug ID: 152270 Summary: macOS: Dark Mode: change in System Settings > Appearance Light | Dark should automatically switch Application Colors Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.5.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: macOS (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: l...@disr.it Description: Users expect applications to automatically follow their system setting for light | dark mode. In LibreOffice > Settings > Application Colors > Color Scheme there are two options: LibreOfficeDev LibreOfficeDev Dark Adding a third (Automatic) option which follows system setting will ensure users get the expected mdoe in LibreOffice on macOS. Steps to Reproduce: Change Light Dark mode in macOS System Settings. Actual Results: Application colors in LibreOffice won't follow that user selection. For dark mode this means, users are greeted with a glaring white sheet when opening a Text Document. This is a rather big issue for someone expected LibreOffice to open in Dark Mode. The fact that Application Colors is a very alien setting on macOS (I am not aware of any other app using that terminology or mechanism, if anything you will get themes) will make it hard for users to understand, they can actually change that setting. But why make users scratch their head, if following good defaults resolves the issue and avoids additional user interaction, forcing them to fumble with LibreOffice settings? Expected Results: LibreOffice should follow the user selection in macOS System Settings for dark | light mode. Tools Go to left side and select Category .. Macros Open sheetX.ods choice from macro list Select Module3, select TestA macro Use "Add Item" arrow (right pointing toward Function section) TestA macro appears in Tools list. Move TestA down in Tools list to appropiate position. Click OK option at bottom. (** see note at end re behavior change using v7 at this point **) Then Close. For version 6 this returns to the open spreadsheet (sheetX.ods) The Tools menu now displays TestA option and that option now executes the macro TestA when selected. Spreadsheet can be closed normally and subsequently reopened with the TestA macro option still in Tools menu and functional. (** at the point marked above by the note, when using v7 the sheet automatically aborts .. closes ? .. and the attempt to reopen results in "Recovery" option menu. Recovery results successfully but the Tools option list is back to "before the Assign attempt", the macro is still available in the module 3 and can be run using Tools/Macros/Run Macro function. **) The Assign process is the fail. Works as described for V6, fails as described is using V7. I have fallen back to V6 to use this function. An aside is when the sheetX is modified using v6 and LO is upgraded to v7 the Tools list contains the macro assigned using v6 and can be run normally from the Tools menu. So the fail is in v7 Assign process code. All attempts in this example are run on current Windows 11 home system, version 22H2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152269] New: What is AI
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152269 Bug ID: 152269 Summary: What is AI Product: Document Liberation Project Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: libcdr Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: koushik12...@gmail.com The mimicking of human thought processes by machines, particularly computer systems, is known as artificial intelligence. Expert systems, natural language processing, speech recognition, and computer vision are examples of AI applications. How Does AI Work? In general, AI systems operate by consuming huge volumes of labeled training data, evaluating the information for patterns and structures, and then using these patterns to forecast future states. By examining millions of examples, a chatbot that provided case studies of text chats can figure out how to make lifelike dialogues with people, while an image recognition program can learn to recognize and describe items in photographs. Learning, Reasoning, and Self-correction are the three cognitive functions that AI programming focuses on: Learning Process: This component of AI programming is concerned with gathering data and developing rules for converting the data into usable information. The rules, known as algorithms, teach computing equipment how to execute a certain task in a step-by-step manner. Reasoning Process: This part of AI programming emphasizes selecting the best algorithm to achieve a given result. Self-correction Process: This element of AI programming is intended to constantly fine-tune algorithms to produce the most reliable data feasible. Why AI is a Need of the Hour? AI is essential because this will provide organizations with previously unknown insights into their business and, in some situations, can do tasks better than humans. AI systems generally accomplish operations quickly and with minimal errors, especially when it comes to repeated, detail-oriented activities like evaluating vast quantities of legal papers to verify key fields are filled in correctly. This has contributed to an increase in efficiency and opened up totally new business options for certain larger firms. Before the current wave of AI, it would have been difficult to conceive of employing computer software to connect riders to cabs, but Uber has grown to become one of the world's largest firms by doing precisely that. It employs powerful machine learning algorithms to estimate when people are likely to require trips in specific places, allowing drivers to be on the road ahead of time. Today's biggest and most successful businesses have utilized AI to better their operations and acquire a competitive advantage. Popular Algorithms Used in Artificial Intelligence Classification Algorithms Naïve Bayes Decision Tree Random Forest Support Vector Machines K Nearest Neighbors Regression Algorithms Linear Regression Lasso Regression Logistic Regression Multivariate Regression Multiple Regression Clustering Algorithms K-Means Clustering Fuzzy C-means Expectation-Maximization (EM) Hierarchical Clustering Classification Algorithm Supervised learning includes classification algorithms. These algorithms are used to categorize the subjected variable and then forecast the class for a given input. Classification algorithms, for example, can be used to determine whether an email is a spam or not. Artificial intelligence identifies a new category of observations in classification algorithms based on previous data, which we may also refer to as training data. The application learns from the previously provided dataset. Let's look at some of the most popular classification algorithms. Naïve Bayes Unlike other classification algorithms, the Naive Bayes algorithm is based on the Bayes theorem and uses a probabilistic approach. For each class, the algorithm has a set of prior probabilities. When data is supplied into the process, the probabilities are updated to generate what is known as posterior probability. This is useful when you need to forecast whether or not an input corresponds to a specific set of classes. Decision Tree The decision tree algorithm seems more like a flowchart-like process, with nodes representing tests on input attributes and branches representing test results. It is a very simple type of probabilistic tree that allows you to make decisions about a process. This tool is based on a tree-like concept and its probable outcomes. Random Forest Random forest functions similarly to a grove of trees. The source data set is partitioned and fed into various decision trees. The average of all decision tree outputs is taken into account. When compared to the Decision tree technique, Random Forests provide a more accurate classifier. Random forests are employed in a variety of industries
