Might be this is a special problem of packages of your Linux distribution. When I simply hold a key down and experience the lag, Xorg goes up near to 100% CPU. Correlation is almost perfect. Is that an indication of a fundamental difference in the file structure of the two files? Here's the bits that are actually different: NOTE: The items within are identical, but in random order, so I'm not going to retype them here, unless the order of items in XML matters. It reads like a Python dictionary or similar unordered structure to me. For the rest, it's just the font section and the table sections. I can't tell from Bogdan's reply which sample is which, so I'm just going to label them A and B. = The Table bit is interesting to me. It looks like the base declaration is virtually the same in both. Sample A has everything in inches, and Sample B has everything in centimeters.
