(In reply to Mike Kaganski from comment #17)

I think I was fooled by the fact that changing the Default PS affects Tools >
Options > Basic Fonts.
Interestingly all/most CS keep the initial Default PS font, although it has no
effect in most cases. Obviously not in case of Line Numbering.

It seems that we have a deeper problem - CS should follow / not modify the
actual Default PS (instead of being initialized once), and a NAB situation for
the line numbering - use Default PS and allow modification via CS "Line
Numbering" (with another minor issue that this CS is not listed with applied
styles).

We show the non-saved status also with a (colored) dot at the toolbar Save
icon.

The statusbar panel should have a tooltip according
SvxModifyControl::StateChangedAtStatusBarControl() with
RID_SVXSTR_DOC_MODIFIED_YES/_NO but it wont show up, at least for me on
Linux/qt5.

The images are svx/res/doc_modified_yes_14.png, svx/res/doc_modified_no_14.png,
and svx/res/doc_modified_feedback.png - and therefore themed. So it does depend
on the icon theme, and if we recommend Sifr for color blind users, the
distinction between yes and no must not be the colorization.

See also: "Asterisk in the filename" (WF in bug 123559) and "Tiny icon in
statusbar" (WFM in bug 84198; actually WF, this ticket could be a DUP).

Hi Rafael,

Sorry, No. The effect is definitely dependent upon focusing outside the
autofilter drop-down.

If I just meander through the Calc I get no hints or tips on any of the ribbon
items but I do get mouse response when hovering over anything in the autofilter
drop-down - just no keyboard response in the search box.

It returns to normal if I "close" the drop-down and reopen it

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152954] New: Default Printer not recognised

2023-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152954

Bug ID: 152954
   Summary: Default Printer not recognised
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: soft.tea9...@fastmail.com

Description:
Issue with Ubuntu MATE 22.04 LTS - fully up to date. [Kernel: 5.15.0.57]

Default printer set in OS settings not recognised by Libre Office - writer, and
Calc - but I suspect all of the LO suite.

Libre Office always chooses printer at top of alpha-numeric list.

What ever settings for printer I make via CUPs [2.4.1], or Admin panel, etc, it
always reverts to non-default printer, ie. the top listed alpha-numerically.
See below:

[1. HP Deskjet360 - WiFi]
[2. Kyocera P2040DN - Ethernet System Default Printer]

Steps to Reproduce:
1.File/Print from menu bar at the top.
2.Default printer not selected, it's always the first in alpha-numeric list
3.Select (default) printer via drop-down box - for me it's the second choice.
4.Prints with selected printer.

Actual Results:
Default printer not recognised and not selected by default choice. Instead
Libre Office selects printer from top of alpha-numeric list.

Expected Results:
Expect Libre Office to automatically choose the system default printer.

Reproducible: Always

All other programs/applications behave as they should in regards to printer
selection of default.

Computer is connected via Ethernet to LAN.

Both printers have IP addresses assigned via MAC address in router.
Thank-you.

Dear Yury,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Way back in LO 4.0, the exported file could not be really be imported by MS
Excel. When LO 7.6 exports the file, MS Excel does import (unlabelled) buttons
that are connected to macros (even though it isn't working properly).

So that suggests that export is partially OK, but import is completely broken.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152953] New: macOS: Spreadsheet window randomly comes to the top of my desktop

2023-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152953

Bug ID: 152953
Summary: macOS: Spreadsheet window randomly comes to the top of
my desktop
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: ARM
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ken.shirr...@gmail.com

Description:
The LibreOffice spreadsheet window keeps coming to the top of the windows on my
desktop. I'll have a spreadsheet window with other application windows on top.
If I pass the mouse over the spreadsheet window, it will randomly jump to the
front.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put a couple of windows over the spreadsheet so the part of the spreadsheet
is visible.
2. Move the cursor back and forth over the windows including the spreadsheet
3. Passing slowly over a spreadsheet icon, such as the File icon, seems to
trigger the problem.

Actual Results:
The spreadsheet window pops to the front. Or sometimes pops in front of some
windows but not others. This is annoying because it interrupts what I was
trying to do; I am not actively using LibreOffice when this happens.

Expected Results:
The mouse moves around the desktop and nothing happens.

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
This started happening when I upgraded LibreOffice. No other applications have
this behavior. So I think it's a LibreOffice bug and not a window manager
issue. But it's possible the problem is outside LibreOffice.

However, since none of the 7.x versions work without random crashes on this -

I suggest you close the bug, it's not worth the trouble of looking into it.

A spreadsheet with several thousand cells for testing VoiceOver

I think that I have fixed the hang in @ Alex Thurgood's stack trace in the
following patch:

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/145245

The patch still needs to be reviewed and tested before it appears in a nightly
build, but the patch definitely eliminates the hang when opening a new, empty
Calc document for me.

Also, I have uploaded a simple Calc spreadsheet with several thousand cells
that can be used as a stress test LibreOffice's accessibility code.

Invalid. Users can select from any number of project Icon themes--most of which
have distinct shape modifications and not color alone when the document has
changes to be saved.

Sifr for example (our default when system Assistive Technologies are signaled
active) shows a circle when the document has been saved.

The project is mindful of the need, but the choice is the Icon theme designer.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152951] New: LibreCalc - Cntrl+C from keyboard puts program in a stall, then (Not Responding) mode

2023-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152951

Bug ID: 152951
Summary: LibreCalc - Cntrl+C from keyboard puts program in a
stall, then (Not Responding) mode
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: IA64 (Itanium)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ro...@carrbridgesquare.com

Description:
Trying to COPY a cell using Cntrl+C freezes the screen then goes into a (Not
Responding) mode if you tap the mouse, or any key.

Waiting for the program to respond is not helpful - waited, no response. Needed
to shut down the program.

Bringing it back up goes into recover document mode. Following that process a
blank spreadsheet screen appears. If you "x" out of that screen, below it is
the recovered spreadsheet.IF YOU SAVED IT before the crash.

Tried reinstalling the program with Win 11 modify app program. Problem still
happens consistently.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Cntl+C in a cell with letters or numbers
2.Screen Freezes
3.Tap any key or the mouse
4.Program goes into Not Responding mode.
5.Need to shut down program - waiting for program to respond does not help.

Actual Results:
Needed to restart program

Expected Results:
Copied the cell vs. shutting down the program

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Have never had this problem with prior releases. Have been using LibreOffice
Calc for years.

I agree. If there are different paragraphs with different font families, I
don't want to see the LN font family change in the middle of the page.

But then, I also don't like to see the LN font _size_ change on the same page;
I would expect to be able to choose whether LN font, including size, is made
uniform over a full section. However... it seems that can't happen right now.
But maybe that is a separate issue.

In the function ScTabViewObj::getSelection() either a ScCellObj or a
ScCellRangeObj will be created based on the selection.

Imho, we could check if the contained range is merged and create the object
accordingly, or we could add the XTextRange to the ScCellRangeObj. I would opt
for the former, i.e., a check if the range is merged.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152480] Writer hangs when opening dialogs for paragraph and character formatting.

2023-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152480

Additional info:

When hanging, performance monitor reports that L-o uses no cpu and has no disk
access as well as the process is in 'not responding' mode. Also, my kill works
directly.

This makes me think that the problem may be that L-o waits for an external
event, an interrupt from Windows.

The long hanging, which reoccurs, first made me think that Writer is scanning
the file system, registry or some other data sources. But this is probably not
the case, as Performance Monitor shows passivity.

Regarding the bug behavior:
I checked further and found that the page settings dialogue also hangs.
But the bullets and numbering dialogue opens fine.

I believe that the basic character of this problem makes it feasible for a
product analyst to identify relevant areas in the code.

I now run 7.0.4.2 which does not have this problem on my old Win10 pc, but
where the problems exist, and also appears on program start up, on my new Win10
pc. On both pc

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152537] No obvious UI to set the document default font used e.g. in Line Numbering

2023-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152537

The numbers used in "Line Numbering" are styled by the character style "Line
Numbering". To change the font alter that style or select a different one and
set the font there.

The line numbering dialog has a drop-down list to determine the to be used
character style. That is similar to the list style dialog where you can
determine the character style for the list numbering. So I thought that would
be obvious, but apparently not.

Most (all?) of the predefined character styles do not set a font. That way the
font defined in the paragraph where a portion of text is located is used when
the character style is applied to that portion of text.

"Line Numbering" is different as the numbers are not inside a paragraph. But do
we want line numbering to follow the paragraph of the same line, for example?
That would result in different character styles in the column of line numbers
when e.g. a block quote has a different font than the surrounding text, or when
headings have a different font than the basic text. So I think, that would be
no good solution.

I'd say this is a duplicate of bug 150451. Although it complains about dark

Apparently the outline of text boxes is not being drawn correctly in kf5. Maybe
this is related to how LO integrates with the system theme in KDE.

We can simply add a new "TooltipLabel" property to the command.

Since it only has a "Label" property, the label is being used as the tooltip.

The fix would look like this:

[placeholder for message]

Search results

Not that the "[placeholder for message]" is replaced as the string content of
the command and the newly added "TooltipLabel" is then used as tooltip.

2023-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148402

Sure thing. When `org.openoffice.Office.PresenterScreen` is set to
`StartAlways`, the Presenter Console will be started even when using a single
display. This is super useful when presenting over Zoom, as I can just share
the window with the fullscreen slide to the audience, but keep my speaker notes
visible on my display at home, all on one screen.

So with the `StartAlways` option, start the presentation, alt+tab to the
presenter console, go to Zoom or any other screensharing app, share the window
with the fullscreen presentation, alt+tab to the presenter console, change to
next slide, and see that the audience still sees the first slide. Only after
you alt+tab to the window with the fullscreen slide, will the audience see the
next slide.

The so-called "fix" appears to be short-sighted. The proposal assumes that a
programmer cannot think of another way to do the job.

As one example, there are already flaws in the existing dialog box, such as a
pop-up that asks if one wished to start at the beginning of the document. When
that closes, the focus of the dialog box is lost. Oops.

No, the whole thing deserves a re-think and re-program. The basic assumption
is that the buttons all work the same. That is incorrect.

I was selecting the Spelling Check button; not a Grammar Check button. These
are two separate and distinct functions.

I could go on, but there is no point. If the idea of separate functions is not
understood, then the whole issue cannot be corrected.

Ah good to know you can reproduce it. Please note that this bug affects all
versions of LO since 7.3.
Another hint: this bug leads to 152920
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152920), which corresponds
with this bug but is much more severe: User Input fields in headers or footers
are not visible at all when opening a document in LO 7.3 and above. But I think
when 152919 is fixed, 152920 will automatically be fixed too :-)
