Can Someone Hack Your Cash App with Your Name: It is not possible to hack into

Dear Jacobo Aragunde Pérez,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 153953] New: Switching direction of a list paragraph changes numbering alignment of other paragraphs

2023-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153953

Bug ID: 153953
Summary: Switching direction of a list paragraph changes
numbering alignment of other paragraphs
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eyalr...@gmx.com

Reproduction instructions:

1. Start a new document
2. Click "Toggle Unordered List" on the toolbar
3. Ensure the "numbering alignment" of the unordered list isn't Centered, but
rather Right or Left
4. Type in "Foo" and press Enter
5. Type in "Bar"
6. Switch the direction of the current (second) paragraph

Expected result:

After step 6, the list numbering alignment of the first paragraph ("Foo") is
the same as in step 3.

No change to the first paragraph

Actual result:

After step 6, the list numbering alignment of the first paragraph ("Foo") is
the opposite as in step 3 - having "switched" like the one of the "Bar"
paragraph.

2023-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153952

Bug ID: 153952
Summary: Default template cannot be modified (by non-root
user?)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eyalr...@gmx.com

I'm running LO as a non-root/non-privileged user - as one does on a typical
operating system.

When I "Manage Templates", choose the Default Template and Edit it - it opens,
but a top blue bar tells me the template is open in Read Only mode, suggesting
I click a button in order to edit the template - even though that's what I said
I want to do. This is already a problem, and doubly so because I'm not told the
_reason_ I can't edit the template; nor was I prevented from doing so in the
Manage Templates dialog.

But the more serious problem is that when I try to save - to overwrite - the
template file, I get:

"Error saving the document Default:
Write Error.
The file could not be written."

this is again twice a problem: First, the write failing, which I suspect is due
to the fact that I'm not root, so I can't overwrite that file, and second, that
I'm not told what actually happened, just a vague message about an error.

The immediate thing to fix is to clarify to the user why they're experiencing
this, i.e. some message saying "The default template can only be edited by a
system administrator / root user" or something along those lines. Alternative,
Edit must not be available on the context menu of nonroot-user-edit

But - this would not be satisfactory, since a user _does_ need to be able to
edit their default document template. So one of the following needs to happen:

1. The default template is duplicated into a user's account when LO is first
started.
2. The default template is duplicated into a user's account when the user first
manages templates.
3. The default template is duplicated into a user's account when the user first
opens it for editing
4. The user is prompted to set their default template to a duplicate of the
system-wide one, to be able to edit it, and must themselves choose whether to
do this.

In any of those cases - once the duplication happens, choosing the default
template should open the user-home-directory-version, not the system-wide
version; and a system-wide default may potentially also start being presented.

5. When trying to save a root-only-editable template, the user will be prompted
to either give up or provide the root password.

1. Scaling proportionally by default does not require scaling
non-proportionately when using Shift+mouse drag, and certainly not scaling
non-proportionately _by default_ when using Shift+mouse drag.

2. I understand this happened by explicit decision. The decision was, IMNSHO, a
mistake, and I gave the reasons above.

What is the justification for the chosen behavior? It seems to me - reading the
linked bug - that the idea was to switch the behaviors between shift and
no-shift, and thus supposedly minimize changes, or not reduce the
"availability" of non-proportionaly resizing. Am I mistaken? Were alternatives
(other than the previous state of affairs) presented, considered and rejected?

So, in summary, the wrong behavior is "not a bug" because the wrong behavior is

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89573] Can not type non-breaking space into Find & Replace dialog

2023-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89573

The remaining bug (can't use documented way to type nb-space into search box)
still exists in recent master.

Revised STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Create a writer document with some text containing both regular and
non-breaking spaces
  For example, type

"Hello BeautifulWorld!"

2. View->Formatting Marks (checked)

You should see a blue dot for the regular space, and white spaces for the
non-breaking spaces entered using .

3. Edit->Find and Replace (or ^H)

Put cursor in "Find:" fields and type

RESULTS: Nothing happens, no text is entered and you can't search for it.

EXPECTED RESULTS: should enter a non-breaking space.

NOTE: As mentioned by Jean-Baptiste it is possible to enter the hex Unicode
code point and successfully search for non-breaking spaces, so the underlying
machinery handles this correctly -- it is a problem with keyboard input.

after windows boot / during Windows startup . . . .

I told LibreOffice 7.5.0.? to do so. Even previous versions.

I hoped setup / installer was able to analyze this setting and aplay it ( agian
)

But after each, running of a LibreOffice_?.?.?_Win_x86-64.exe file I have to
set it myself.

Hopes it helps
Wouter

I'm the only ( administrator ) user on this Windows 10 system.

Please note that under Windows, when the password is requested, a path is
shown. This path might have some incompatibility under Linux (because of
filesystem, or some other reason).

IDK whether there is a bug or not, but IMHO this should be left as UNCONFIRMED
until someone can actually replicate the same scenario and steps as in comment
6, and either confirm it or not.

@Miguel, respectfully, you should not had closed this as WORKSFORME, IMHO. You
are testing under Windows, and the report says LINUX. If you agree, please
reopen it, so someone with a similar context as the OP can try and test it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 153948] New: LanguageTool Server: changing language of a paragraph doesn't re-check grammar

2023-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153948

Bug ID: 153948
Summary: LanguageTool Server: changing language of a paragraph
doesn't re-check grammar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Linguistic
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com
CC: so...@libreoffice.org

Created attachment 185734
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=185734=edit
A sentence marked with wrong language

Pre-requisites:

1. Configure LibreOffice 7.4+ to use LanguageTool Server (Options->Language
Settings->LanguageTool Server);
2. Disable Hunspell and Lightproof checkers for German (Germany) and English
(USA), the two languages that are used in the test; make sure that LanguageTool
is enabled for them. This is done at Options->Language Settings->Writing Aids,
Available Language Modules section, [ Edit ] button; in the dialog, select the
required language, and configure options; select another language and repeat.
Close the dialog, apply.

Reproduction:

3. Open the attachment. Make sure that automatic spell check is enabled
(Shift+F7). The sentence is marked German (Germany), so should get underlined
as misspelled; right-clicking the underlined words would show explanations and
suggestions in German.
4. Tools->Language->For All Text->English (USA).

At this point, the spelling should get re-checked, and the spelling marks
disappear. Actually, this doesn't happen. The underlines stay; and this is not
an artifact. Clicking inside the paragraph shows English (USA) in the status
bar, as expected; but right-clicking the "misspelled" words shows the same
German explanations/suggestions.

Hello. Sorry for the long answer!

Please try to reproduce the steps below.

Case 1:
1.1) Fill in cells A1:A6 and B1:B6 with values from 1 to 6
1.2) Merge in each column cells 2 and 3 with "Keep contents of hidden cells"
option
1.3) Merge cells 4 and 5 similarly to paragraph 1.2
1.4) Select cells A1 and A2
1.5) Pull down to A8
1.6) We observe how cell A4 is equal to half of the cell with the value 4 of
column B.

Case 2:
2.1) Undo action 1.5
2.2) Select cells A1 and A2
2.3) Drag down to cell A4
2.4) We observe how the values of cell A5 overlap each other

This is not a completely correct display. In Excel, if this behavior is
reproduced, an error occurs "To do this, all merged cells must have the same
size"

--- Comment #30 from Stéphane Guillou (stragu)

Clarified the summary to include "cubic spline".

But I stand by my comment 25 and comment 28: there are various ways to
calculate cubic splines, and the method LibreOffice uses is consistent with the
"Normal" method. Other alternative methods will also extrapolate this kind of
data to negative values.
The use of R for comparison is not a random choice: it's a statistical
programming language used very widely.

If something needs to be checked, it's the consistency between the LibreOffice
code and the ODF standard (i.e. are we using the method that the standard
defines?).

In summary, my opinion is "resolved - not a bug" because negative values are
expected in some (most?) cubic spline methods applied to this data.

Have you tried to close the document and reopen it.

As i said first opening is ok and after some close - open it is locked.

I do not know if it is useful but I am on linux and the file is on a ntfs disk
because a windows pc can access it.

If nobody else has reported this, maybe something is wrong with my system.

Thanks for your time.

I agree with it. Let's ask design team

I can't confirm with

Version: 7.5.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: fcbaee479e84c6cd81291587d2ee68cba099e129
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: CL threaded

Only vertical alignment is greyed out (might be expected). Perhaps a Linux
issue? If you like, add a sample document for testing.

Find bar and Find & Replace screen capture recent trunk on Win10 - dark and

Looks to be #ff6d6d in the field holding the search string when no results are
found.
