--- Comment #4 from Stéphane Guillou (stragu)
 ---
 Description translated by LibreTranslate:

Created attachment 186483 [details]
Presentation of the PDF file name in various PDF viewers/readers

The name of the PDF file exported by the write cannot be displayed in some PDF
readers.

In some known PDF readers, the text appears instead of the file name:
"Receiver / short description in the document title".

So it is in
- Adobe Akrobat Reader
- PDF XChange Viewer
- PDF XChange Editor

Other readers represent the file name completely. So it is in
- WPS Office
- PDF24 Reader

If the ODT file is stored in docx format, and then generated with MS Word as a
PDF file, the file name is displayed in all readers.

 Steps copied from attached file:

1. I use an OTT file as a document template, for example an existing file
Privat briefvorlage_din_5008.ott (Private letter template_din_5008.ott).
2. On this basis I write a letter and save it as 20230412 Test 1.odt.
3. I export this ODT File as 20230412 Test 1.pdf.
4. I open this PDF- file with one of the PDF readers, such as Adobe
Acrobat, PDF-Xchange Viewer or PDF-XChange Editor.
5. The document appears in the form of an index card (tab) with the name
Briefvorlage DIN 5008 universal (Letter template DIN 5008 universal).
The PDF file name 20230412 Test 1.pdf was expected.
6. If the file 20230412 Test 1.pdf in the WPS Office or in the PDF24 Reader
to open, the file name appears correctly (as 20230412 Test 1.pdf) in the tab
title.
7. If the ODT text file is created without using an OTT document template
and further exported as PDF file
or
8. if the ODT text file is saved as a DOCX or as a DOC file and further
saved as a PDF file with MS Word
the file name in the tab title will be displayed correctly in all PDF readers.

 My response:

I believe this is "not a bug". The different PDF readers will display different
information in the title bar, some show the file name, others show the document
title.
In Writer, the document title is set in: File > Properties > Description, and I
can see the title "Briefvorlage DIN 5008 universal" in your attached file
"20230412 Test 1.odt". It must come from the document / template you based your
document on. You can change that value or remove it entirely if needed.
Hope that explains it! Let us know if I missed something.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154924] New: FILESAVE shade/gradient slide background, increasing set in automatic mode when saving presentation, not saved desired numberwith

2023-04-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154924

Bug ID: 154924
Summary: FILESAVE shade/gradient slide background, increasing
set in automatic mode when saving presentation, not
saved desired numberwith
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: luan.esteve...@protonmail.com

Description:
After saving a presentation using Impress, shade/gradient (don't know exactly
how it is in English since I use it in Italian) a tick appears in "Automatic"
so the chose number isn't saved and the colors of the background are left with
shading and not with wide coloured strings following the colours I set.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Left click on the background and select "slide properties..."
2.Select above "shade/gradient"
3.Unselect "automatic" below "Increasing" and set as number "3"
4. In type select "axial/axis"
5. Add and save shade/gradient

Actual Results:
It worked and the shade was saved, infact if I tried to change the the
background and then resetting the one I created it was visible as I created it.
After saving the file and reopen it, the shade saved and so the background
looked/was set in automatic and the colors weren't wide string but a normal
colour gradient in axial/axis.

Expected Results:
It should have showed the shade in the background as I added it before saving
the file.

Reproducible: Always

Screen Shots from Lo 7.5.2.2 und 7.3.5.2

When insert an Image in a writer Document, resize and position it, then it can
be compressed to the actual size to reduce the file size.

So I do this:
- open context menu over the inserted picture
- select
- I can see the image Dimension in the Document. for example:
-Width: 2007px / Height: 915px / Resolution: 300DPI
-Image size: 2347 KiB
- Then click on [Calculate new Size:] and get: 7091 KiB(-202% reduction)

This is wrong.

When I do the identical steps in LO 7.3.5.2 i get the following:
- open context menu over the inserted picture
- select

-Width: 2007px / Height: 915px / Resolution: 300DPI
-Image size: 2347 KiB
- Then click on [Calculate new Size:] and get: 271 kiB(88% reduction)

I see that when you tested 7.6, it was using your graphics card to render the
UI with Vulkan, while your 7.5 was not. It was also using OpenCL to process
formulas, but that is probably irrelevant.

You could do some last experiments with 7.6 (separately):

- deactivate Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View - Use Skia for all rendering
and test
- deactivate Tools - Options - LibreOffice - OpenCL - Allow use of OpenCL and
test

If the problem comes back, you can attach an example spreadsheet that shows the
problem. If you can't reproduce the problem in any way in 7.6, I think this
could be closed as worksforme.

Dear sc.chi,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101824] Rasterizing vector images in compress dialog dont take resized size into account

2023-04-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101824

Dear Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired),

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 153985] Horrible performance scrolling up with PgUp when Automatic Spell Checking is on [kf5 (cairo+xcb), X11]

2023-04-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153985

I've done more testing.

With 7.5.2.2 on KDE Wayland, I see fast scrolling, getting slightly slower
after scrolling up a few thousand rows, but nothing to complain about.
Scrolling again from the last row towards the top while keeping the document
open is noticeably faster (perhaps some caching happens?)

Version: 7.5.2.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 53bb9681a964705cf672590721dbc85eb4d0c3a2
CPU threads: 20; OS: Linux 6.2; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+wayland)
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

On MacOS though, scrolling the same file is much slower, and uniformly so
(doesn't get slower as I scroll up). I tried both 7.4, and the latest:

Version: 7.5.2.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 53bb9681a964705cf672590721dbc85eb4d0c3a2

Repro when using "Elementary" icon theme (i.e., both have the same same icon),
and it also appears in the context menu.
But for Colibre icon theme, there is no icon for .uno:IndexEntryDialog

Not relevant here. That is for indexes.

There are plans to upgrade to a new version of Bugzilla when that comes out,
which should bring many improvements. No plans to move to GitHub at the moment.
In any case (and at the risk of disappointing you with yet another platform,
sorry!), this kind of request about infrastructure needs to be opened on

Note however that I doubt the idea will get much traction.
And please take into account what was said on the topic previously, like here:

I could already reproduce this issue in:

Version: 6.0.0.3
Build ID: 64a0f66915f38c6217de274f0aa8e15618924765
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); Calc: group

But not in OOo 3.3, so it was a regression somewhere along the way.

Still reproduced in a recent master build:

Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 61b41646c5a93ca24f2c9f143cdb0da2c9258989
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

This only happens if the paste is the first action after opening the editor.
Changing focus to another window, then back to the editor restore the save
button.

Bummer. Hope you find it. Bit tedious to eyeball the master drop-down on the
sidebar every single time I create a new page in Draw to see whether I need to
flip it off of the newly created (and superfluous) master.

Good luck.

It would be 100% better if they moved the bug tracker and so on to GitHub,
since CollaboraOffice and co already have everything on that platform, only

So I've been using the Random Number Generator a lot lately and I noticed that
it is not accessible via the Tabbed UI.

Since it is not used by that many people, I suggest we add it either to the
"Insert" or "Data" tab inside those dropdown menus on the right side.

The command is .uno:RandomNumberGeneratorDialog

I could not reproduce with the default macOS appearance settings (the selection
highlight colour is blue), but changing the accent colour to Graphite shows the
same issue as in your screenshot.

Lucas, can you please confirm that you are using the Graphite accent colour?

Patrick, have you worked with accent colours before?

I use a German keyboard (with a comma on the numpad), en-US interface and en-AU
locale in LO, and the option "same as locale setting" is checked so "." should
be used as the decimal separator.

I see the issue happen when using the formula bar / input line is used.

- Typing with the numeric pad into the formula bar uses the comma (wrong)
- Typing with the numeric pad directly into the cell uses the dot (correct)

Only affects gtk3. Not on kf5 or gen.

Been running it on 7.5.1.2 and hasn't repeated the incident.

My theory is that it was attempting a save to a drive that had been playing up
at the time and was trying to save over a file that was no longer there - so it
crashed out.

One of my hard-drives was on its last legs and it formatted itself directly
after the incident.

Working theory being it couldn't finish the save procedure and soft-locked.
(This may be useful in the future, but is no longer a problem)

Attachment 185559 is for UI in English for me, half of the Tabbed Home toolbar
empty.

With the same exact context, changing LO's UI to Dutch (Netherlands) shows the
_entire_ toolbar empty.

So, this annoying behavior depends/varies (among others) on:

* Window size;
* OS's text scaling;
* LO's UI language.

The reports started around 26 months ago ATM, 20 days after the release of 7.1.
We can only hope LO 7.6 gets a fix for this.

--- Comment #2 from Stéphane Guillou (stragu)
 ---
Thank you for the report.

Reproduced in 7.5.2.2 and a recent master build:

Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 61b41646c5a93ca24f2c9f143cdb0da2c9258989
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Bibisected the issue with the linux-64-7.5 repo to the first bad commit
6f10bfc3f53a7d88037a32deadcc7f3be94c061e which points to the core commit:

commit 8611f6e259b807b4f19c8dc0eab86ca648891ce3
author Noel Grandin Thu May 27 10:27:46
2021 +0200
committer Noel Grandin Mon Aug 29
13:44:02 2022 +0200
ref-count SdrObject
Reviewed-on: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/138837

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open database with some fields
2. Forms > Use wizard to create form
3. Field selection: all fields
4. Arrange controls: "Columnar - labels on top" (same with "Columnar - labels
left" and "In block - labels above")
5. Click Finish

Results: elements overlap. gen and kf5 VCLs not affected.

Noel, can you please have a look? Same commit caused bug 154827 and bug 154428.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76022] DOC/DOCX import: Tables don't wrap around floating shapes (also wrong in old versions of MSO, but "correct" in MSO2013)

Of course, but the same compat flag that allows MS layout can be used for ODT
as well. The inability of table to wrap around flies is not a "feature" that
needs to be preserved.

@ Eyal Rozenberg: no, the problem is not that one needs to make two
click-and-drags. The problem is as my first post described it. Possibly that
problem was caused or at least exacerbated by my ignorance - but even if that
is so, other users seem likely to get into the same frustrating mess that I
did.

No, problem.
As you can see, the bug was already reported here
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140557, but is very good
that you took your time to report it. It's a very annoying bug.

Is the hard part in the fact that you need to make two click-and-drags? Other
than, I can't really say that I share your experience.

The two click-and-drag's is not that hard IMHO, and I'm not sure adding an
extra widget would not be trading some ease for more confusion due to
complexity.

But - I don't have a strong opinion.

It's just address, username and API key, there's no need to enter a password.
Also, username and API key are optional.

Because those refTable fragments are 0-based.

That actually says "If there are no cells in common, returns an Error" without
specifying the error value (which is common in ODFF because implementations may
vary).

We can switch to #NULL! though for interoperability.

Note that the table's comment "Intersection of ranges produced zero cells." is
only an example (and apparently inspired by Excel), for us internally #NULL! is
FormulaError::NoCode that can be set on error conditions producing no code..
(of which an empty intersection could be regarded as such).
