I read two problems
A) The Document Recovery is offered each time after launch. Which should be the
case, if LibreOffice closed normally
B) File Recovery wants to restore a file, which is older compared to the last
saved.

For the crash on close part, triggering the file recovery. This might solve the
problem..

Tested it with the attached document. LO will hang to import the content.
Document is created by Adobe InDesign 14.0. Don't know if there isn't any
function, which isn't supported by pdf import.

Then I opened the document in a pdf-viewer and printed it to *.pdf. Document
expands from 7,9 MB to 16,5 MB. This document could be opened by LO without any
problem.

Don't know if this is a bug, because I don't know if there are features used by
InDesign, which aren't supported by LO. But LO should respond with n"not
supported". I will set this one to NEW.

2023-05-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155174

Bug ID: 155174
Summary: The loss of the results of the work in the writer,
despite the fact that the work is saved explicitly by
means of the "Save" button.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sasha.razgo...@gmail.com

Description:
Many times I have found that changes made to a document (WRITER) that was saved
to disk BEFORE closing the program disappear the next time the document is
opened. Now I have seen that, most likely, this is due to the fact that I
REFUSE to perform document RECOVERY, which WRITER offers me to perform when
opening the document. WRITER offers me a recovery despite the fact that the
document was SAVED to disk before closing the program!!! At the same time, the
rejection of UNNECESSARY "recovery" leads to the loss of changes that were made
BEFORE saving the document to disk and closing the program.

Actual Results:
The bug appears on two different PC with Win10.

Expected Results:
described yet - above

Reproducible: Always

Got it working with LO 7.2.5 and LO 7.3.6. PDF-Export is as expected. Blank
line doesn't appear. Saved the changed document and could also export it with
LO 7.4.6.2. Then opened this document in LO 7.5.3.2 and the last row (together
with content) of the table appears on next page.

This is a reproducible error here: Opening with LO 7.3.6, save new - no bug.
Open with LO 7.5.3.2: one row appears on the next page. Layout changed.

Seems it is better for me to work with LO 7.4.6.2, because it will produce the
same result as older versions. Set the version for this bug to LO 7.5.3.2.

Have tried this before. Sometimes the paragraph sign is on the right column,
sometimes on the left. No break there. Break would be shown at the end of the
text and with a next paragraph sign for next paragraph.

Just opened the document again: One black border (bottom of the table) on next
page. Disappears after some seconds (nearby 10 seconds). Tried to export to
*.pdf and after this export the empty line on next page appears again. It is
also part of the exported *.pdf.

Dear b.,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Dear Regina Henschel,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

using LO 7.4 on Windows with a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card with Skia

haven't noticed the problem with Skia disabled. Is it not possible to offer all

2023-05-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155173

Bug ID: 155173
Summary: Useless files modern.sog and classic.sog
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.6.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

The feature of loading gradient palettes was removed (see also bug 120369 and
bug 131043). So always only a file which is named 'standard.sog' (from
/share/palette or from user/config) can be used.

But even if you rename the files 'classic.sog' or 'modern.sog' to
'standard.sog' you cannot use them, because they have wrong namespaces.

So either do not install these files at all or repair their namespaces.

If you will test it, you need to know, that a 'standard.sog' in the 'user'
folder always has preference of the file 'standard.sog' in the installation
folder. The defined gradients are not mixed. The default gradients you see, are
not from the installation folder, but were copied to the 'standard.sog' in the
'user' folder when you first time add a gradient.

The step count does not belong to the gradient definition which can be saved
with "Add", but it is a setting of the individual object. So strictly this
would be "Not ab bug".

But there is indeed a problem, because the dialog does not show the value of
the current page, for which the dialog is opened. But it shows the default
"automatic".

BTW, adding a gradient is broken, in case the dialog is opened for a page, see
bug 103916 and bug 107787.

but that their exist no intuitive way and behavior is different from the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113245] UI Name Box (left in the Formula Bar) allows to type spaces, although these are not allowed in the name (and Enter silently fails..)

There is no way to reproduce the described behavior. You can attempt to
introduce a name with spaces directly in the Name Box, but as soon as you press
[ENTER], a warning pops up, blocking the name.

IMHO, in the way this is presented, it should be closed as invalid; no repro,
no bug, no incorrect behavior, no problem, nothing.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155169] New: Inconsistent behavior of Cmd+left/right arrow on macOS

2023-05-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155169

Bug ID: 155169
Summary: Inconsistent behavior of Cmd+left/right arrow on macOS
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ddascalescu+freedesk...@gmail.com

On macOS, pressing Cmd+left/right arrow performs Home/End.

In LibreCalc, it performs word left/right, and for Home/End you must press
Fn+left/right arrow, which generally does nothing on macOS.

Is this WAI?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155168] New: LibreOffice no longer remembers which Style Sidebar I had open.

2023-05-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155168

Bug ID: 155168
Summary: LibreOffice no longer remembers which Style Sidebar I
had open.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: douglas.math...@gmail.com

Description:
I don't know if this is more of a bug or an enhancement request, but
LibreOffice Writer USED to remember which Styles list I had open in the
Sidebar, and now it does not. I always have the "Applied Styles" Sidebar open,
but if I save, close, and open the document again, it reverts back to
"Hierarchical". I am working between hundreds of documents which I constantly
open and close, so this rather disrupting to my workflow. Again, the LAST
version of LibreOffice Writer remembered my Styles Sidebar; it is only after
the most recent update that it stopped remembering.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.In LibreOffice Writer, open Styles in Sidebar (F11), and use dropdown to
switch from "Hierarchical" to "Applied Styles".
2.Save, close, and reopen document
3.Open Styles again (F11).

Actual Results:
"Hierarchical" opens in the Sidebar.

Expected Results:
It should be "Applied Styles" that opens in the Sidebar. This is what it used
to do.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
(I tried running in Safe Mode, and the problem persisted, which means the user
profile was not the cause of the problem.)

Excel allows the very useful function of cell format: "center on columns".
LO Calc 6.1 allows merging the cells, but never to center on columns Without
cell merging.

This feature is useful to improve the presentation without merging the cells. I
don't use never merging of cells that is a non-sensual on a spreadsheet since
it blocks all filters or tries!

Actual Results:
Must merge the cells to center on several columns!

Expected Results:
Center on columns Without merging the cells!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155092] UI: Erratic behaviour after resizing spreadsheet window size

2023-05-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155092

No repro with
Version: 7.4.0.3 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: f85e47c08ddd19c015c0114a68350214f7066f5a
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 12.6.3; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

nor with
Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 8635c9aa8c6f1078a9e220076d5a08daf30077e8
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 12.6.3; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: osx
Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

so the problem maybe backported to the 7.5 branch, or it's working on my system
for a different reason (for example user profile influence)
