[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155697] String comparison fails depending on formatting
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155697 --- Comment #5 from Mike Kaganski --- (In reply to Mike Kaganski from comment #4) > things kike ... thinks like ... Sorry for typos. As to "however the content got to be different from entering the same text" - note e.g. that different methods exist for entering emojis: e.g., on Windows, one can use charmap (a system app); or LibreOffice's Special Character (Insert menu); or system's Windows logo button + Dot - and the latter method allows you to chose variations; then you can select, copy and paste - and that may be another source of difference. This all is outside of LibreOffice control, and the only LibreOffice responsibility here is to obey, provide correct rendering, and accurately keep what was defined by user. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155697] String comparison fails depending on formatting
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155697 Mike Kaganski changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #4 from Mike Kaganski --- Indeed, the "however the content got to be different from entering the same text" is only the user who created that can tell us; and the "there's no discernable difference in the input line" is *by design*, with Unicode explicitly defining *several* different codepoint sequences resulting in identical visual output. There are things kike normalization, that exist for that reason; there are thinks like 'variation selectors' - which your second character in A2 and A4, 'U+FE0F', is: it defines which of the several alternatives for a given "primary" character, like emoji, is used (it could be a skin color, or a hair variant, or whatever; and when your selector co-incides with the default, the resulting look would indeed be identical). https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155697 --- Comment #3 from ady --- (In reply to Shad Sterling from comment #2) > Then I guess there are two bugs: I disagree. > however the content got to be different > from entering the same text IMHO, Calc has no control on how or what exactly users introduce as data; that's for the users to know and to control. > and that there's no discernable difference in > the input line (nor any apparent way to add or remove the invisible > character) I would suggest using functions such as: _ D1: LEN(A1) _ E2: RIGHT(A2) _ F2: UNICODE(E2) ...among others. In a similar way, there are formatting marks in text used in Writer (e.g. end of paragraph; toggle formatting marks in Writer to show them). Perhaps you would want to open an enhancement request for something, but I don't see here some formatting issue affecting the result of a formula as presented in comment 0. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75662 --- Comment #29 from QA Administrators --- Dear Brolin Empey, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155666] Common.xcu file has no effect
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155666 Gabor Kelemen (allotropia) changed: What|Removed |Added CC||kelem...@ubuntu.com Resolution|--- |NOTOURBUG Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED --- Comment #1 from Gabor Kelemen (allotropia) --- I took a look at this, and the problem is that you have tested it on a pre-exising install, with an existing instdir/user/registrymodifications.xcu file - which contains a value for this variable. A little advertised detail of LO is that lots of configuration defaults are written to this at the first start of LO, or the first opening+closing of a config dialog that contains these settings. The contents of this file take precedence over factory defaults and admin level customizations. This is explained in detail in these talk slides: http://www.linux-kongress.org/2010/slides/ooo_netzwerk-effenberger.pdf http://www.linuxtag.org/2012/fileadmin/www.linuxtag.org/slides/Thorsten%20Behrens%20-%20LibreOffice%20configuration%20management%20-%20Tools_%20approaches%20and%20best%20practices.p331.pdf http://libreoffice.hu/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Andras_Timar_LibO_Central_Config_Management-1.pdf Try to close LO and rename your registrymodifications.xcu file - the next start will take the value from your extension. This worked for me, showing that the config snippet is correct. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155693] New: Direction of horizontal scrollbar in libreoffice calc in RTL sheets is wrong
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155693 Bug ID: 155693 Summary: Direction of horizontal scrollbar in libreoffice calc in RTL sheets is wrong Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.5.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mozaffar.a...@gmail.com Description: If you switch the direction of a libreoffice calc's sheet to RTL, its horizontal scrollbar acts same as LTR mode. It is occurred in libreoffice 7.5 and it was correct in 7.4 Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a new/existing calc document 2. Click on "A1" cell 3. Click on "Sheet" menu 4. Click on "Right-To-Left" menu 5. Try to move horizontal scrollbar Actual Results: The horizontal scrollbar remains at the left side. You cannot move it to left. If you move it to right, the cells go to right. Expected Results: By switching to "Right-To-Left" mode, it is expected that: 1. The horizontal scrollbar sticks to the right 2. Like all other programs, by moving the scrollbar to the left, the sheet must move to the right Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: This is in contradict with common behavior of horizontal scrollbar even in previous versions of calc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
