https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156128 Bug ID: 156128 Summary: Drawing objects can be hyperlinked by drag-and-drop from Navigator, but link is not functional Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rayk...@gmail.com Steps to reproduce: 1. Open either the sidebar or floating Navigator, Menu > View > Navigator or Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Alt + 4 3. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156127] New: LibreOffice hangs when choosing Tools -> Language -> For All Text -> Spanish (Spain)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156127 Bug ID: 156127 Summary: LibreOffice hangs when choosing Tools -> Language -> For All Text -> Spanish (Spain) Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.5.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Linguistic Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: kno...@gmail.com CC: so...@libreoffice.org I'm marking this as _critical_ because app hanging is similar to a crash (as it leads to data loss). I've waited 5minutes already and the UI doesn't recover from a "Not responding" state, so I've had to kill the app and lose all the work that I had been doing from the last time I saved the document. This has happened to me on Windows (v7.5.4.2), but it may happen as well in other platforms. I cannot reproduce this bug, though, for very small document (around 2 pages), but I can reproduce it reliably for a document of around 100 pages. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open large document (in my testing, the language I can see in the status bar is "English (Hong Kong)"). 2. Tools -> Language -> For All Text -> Spanish (Spain) Expected results: Change language in status bar, and maybe start highlighting in underline-red the words that are no in the Spanish dictionary? Current results: It hangs, I cannot use LibreOffice for 5minutes already and so I need to kill it. (Maybe with a large document, this action may take time, but if this is the case, the way to fix it is showing a progress bar to the user so that she doesn't suspect that the app is dead.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127294 --- Comment #83 from madisonabuba...@hotmail.com --- To add more tips of the day in LibreOffice, create a custom extension using the LibreOffice SDK. Design a user interface to display daily tips and prepare a list of tips to show users. Implement logic to show a random tip each day based on the system date. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94472] Proposal for working in documents on two positions in side by side (so vertical) panes
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94472 --- Comment #10 from madisonabuba...@hotmail.com --- Any changes made in one window will be reflected in the other. However, for a true side-by-side view within a single LibreOffice window, users can utilize their operating system's split-screen feature, though this won't offer the same level of document synchronization. As of September 2021, this remains the primary method to work on documents side by side in LibreOffice. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94472 --- Comment #9 from madisonabuba...@hotmail.com --- In this site https://answersville.com/best-call-center-jobs-from-home/, LibreOffice lacks a built-in feature for side-by-side vertical panes, but users can achieve this by opening two instances of the program with the same document using the "New Window" option. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156125] New: Slow scrolling of documents with many Math formulas
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156125 Bug ID: 156125 Summary: Slow scrolling of documents with many Math formulas Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.5.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jrheinlaen...@users.sourceforge.net Created attachment 188162 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=188162=edit Writer file containing numerous Math objects with varying font sizes When editing a Writer document that has many Math formulas, scrolling can become irregular. After examining this with callgrind, I found the reason in vcl/unx/generic/fontmanager/fontconfig.cxx class CachedFontConfigFontOptions. Here the font options cache is coded to a size of 10. Apparently Math formulas can contain a lot of fonts in varying sizes. Thus the font cache is quickly filled. On scrolling, an enormous amount of calls to PrintFontManager::getFontOptions() is generated. Unless cached, these are handled by libfontconfig's FcFontSetMatch(). On typical Ubuntu systems, several thousand fonts can be installed (run fc-list). Thus libfontconfig uses a significant time to handle the calls. Scrolling performance can be greatly improved by increasing the font options cache size to e.g. 100. Since memory usage is probably not as critical as it used to be when the font options cache was first implemented, that should be a safe change. Find attached a sample file with a lot of Math formulas containing different font sizes. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

If I apply Hidden attribute to the character style the paragraph disappears as expected but the line spacing is deeper where the text was hidden. The list remains uneven even if scrolled to another page and back. If I toggle Formatting Marks, click Print preview, or close a re-open the document the list becomes evenly spaced again. First investigated from Ask.LibreOffice answer but I feel I have seen the effect in other lists. https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/how-do-you-start-a-nested-list-on-the-same-line-as-the-parent-list-item/35529/14?u=earnestal Might apply to only Windows installations. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156122 Bug ID: 156122 Summary: CALC Find & Replace - CtrlH - Search results pane can no longer be moved to a preferred location. Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.4.7.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: that.man.co...@gmail.com Description: After selecting an array of cells and invoking Find & Replace with [Ctrl]+H and the find and replacement "text" is committed for [Replace All] then the resulting pop-up "Search Results" pane can no longer be moved to a preferred location. Previously, it was possible to relocate it to permit its close button to appear on top of the close button for the originating "Find & Replace" pane - thereby obviating any requirement to scroll around the screen to close all redundant panes. "click click" Workaraound: Relocate the "Find and replace" pane to wherever the "Search Results" pane decides to rear its ugly head. Non-Urgent but something went wrong somewhere because I believe all other pop-up panes retain their mobility Steps to Reproduce: Create an array of random information Select the array and combine [Ctrl]+H Make any random replace you desire Select Replace All Move the resulting Search results pane to any random location and accept the change Close the pane Repeat all the above steps and observe that your mobility is seriously impaired. Actual Results: Search results pane appears at its own preferred location Expected Results: Do as I say - or die in the effort to satisfy my unreasonable demands Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.4.7.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 723314e595e8007d3cf785c16538505a1c878ca5 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: sv-SE (en_GB); UI: en-GB Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156079] Text in exported PDF fails to be c'ed
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156079 --- Comment #5 from خالد حسني --- Copying from Adobe Reader, I get: 012345 6789 (no funny characters, but there an extra space which is not surprising as many PDF readers will interpret a large gap between glyphs as space even if the PDF does not have a space character there) If I use pdftotext, I get: 0123456789 The number grouping is a “feature” of Linux Libertine G font, but it is done in a very odd way that affects PDF export. $ hb-shape LinBiolinum_R_G.ttf "0123456789" --no-positions [zero=0|uni202F=1|one=1|two=2|three=3|uni202F=4|four=4|five=4|six=6|uni202F=7|seven=7|eight=7|nine=7] (the text before equal sign is the glyph name, and the number after it is the index of the input string corresponding to this character) The font output zero fine, no funny business. Then it outputs the glyph for NNBSP then glyph for one and gives both the same input string index, then two and three normally, then NNBSP, four and five and gives all the three of them the same input string index, then six normally, then NNBSP, seven, eight and nine and gives the four of them the same input string index. This funny business with input string index leads us to group the output as the following mapping between glyphs and input characters: zero => "0" uni202F,one => "1" two => "2" three => "3" uni202F,four,five => "45" six => "6" uni202F,seven,eight,nine => "789" This mapping of multiple glyphs to multiple input characters is problematic in PDF for text extraction, since PDF can represent only one glyph to one character or one glyph ti multiple characters mapping. To keep the text copy-able we have to resent to tagging the problematic glyph groups using /ActualText spans, and not all PDF viewers support this. So this a combination of oddly built font and buggy PDF viewers, we are doing our best and there is not much we can do about this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
