[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 157395] Does it "Preferred resolution for images" work?
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157395 Franklin Weng changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW --- Comment #4 from Franklin Weng --- Confirmed in Version: 7.6.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 69edd8b8ebc41d00b4de3915dc82f8f0fc3b6265 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 6.4; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb) Locale: zh-TW (zh_TW.UTF-8); UI: zh-TW Calc: threaded I'm feeling that it is confusing to users. What user (alright, me) expects is have a good resolution (as good as 300 DPI) **in this dimension 481.9x321.7 pt**. But the behavior seems to be that, when setting the Preferred Resolution For Images to 300 PPI it told me "yes, this image is 300DPI when it is 1443.8x963.8 pt" (which means, no, it is not since the images is only 481.9x321.7 pt). I'm not sure if it is a UX problem. And honestly I have no idea what this "Preferred Resolution For Images" property is actually doing. And honestly, the help Preferred resolution for images Check this box to select the preferred image resolution in points per inch, which is used as default when an image is inserted into a Writer, Impress or a Draw document and resize it according to the value in the list box. doesn't help much to let users understand what it is really doing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 157165] "target already exists" randomly appears trying to open files on mounted SSHFS drive
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157165 --- Comment #1 from Loren Amelang --- Created attachment 189789 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=189789=edit Screenshot of the error message, and filename shown on mouseover This keeps happening, particularly if the computer has been to "hybrid sleep" since the particular file was last opened. Sometimes a second try from that Recent files page will open right up, sometimes I have to go find the file in Nemo file manager. Sometimes double clicking it there works, sometimes right click and open in Libre is required. Text files sometimes fail to open in Sublime Text, but they don't show any error or popup message, it just opens an empty file with the chosen name. Maybe this is a Linux problem... But "Target already exists" seems like my best clue! What could it mean? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Reopening the file, both in Writer and in Word, shows no comment at all. I understand Word doesn't allow comments in footnotes, but I consider it a bug because Writer allows you to insert them and doesn't give any warning about this. It should restrict the user from entering a piece of data that will be lost. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open (or create and save) a DOCX file. 2. Insert a footnote. 3. Insert a comment in the footnote. 4. Save and reopen. Actual Results: Comment is not saved. Expected Results: User should be unable to insert a comment in a footnote if the file is in DOCX format. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 157033] 2 quality of life improvements. Automatically highlight cells based on value and enter functions easily
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157033 Kira Tubo changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEEDINFO CC||kira.t...@gmail.com --- Comment #2 from Kira Tubo --- Hi @CnPx, Thank you for reaching out. There are a couple of things that I noticed may be of help to you: 1. Highlighting a cell based on its value: Are you referring to Conditional formatting? If you go to Format > Conditional > Condition, you can specify a cell or a range of cells to be highlighted in any color/font effect that you would like. There is a link mentioned in Comment 1 earlier: https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/scalc/guide/cellstyle_conditional.html?DbPAR=CALC#bm_id3149263 2. Adding (5+5) and (A1+A2) without requiring =SUM function: If you put an equal sign in front of these, e.g. =5+5 and =A1+A2, it will add up the values for you. No need to use an actual function like =SUM. I'm not sure about the rest of the ask, but once you clarify with some steps, and maybe some screenshots if possible, it will be easier for us to understand. If there is more than one bug or enhancement request (to me it's not clear at the moment if there is), then it's possible that they will need to be filed in a separate report, so we can review each individual ask separately. I hope this helps! I will change the Status to NEEDINFO as we wait for your answer. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 157404] New: Tabbed UI: Unselected Page Size options not readable in Win11 dark mode
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157404 Bug ID: 157404 Summary: Tabbed UI: Unselected Page Size options not readable in Win11 dark mode Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.6.1.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: kira.t...@gmail.com Description: If the user is running Dark Mode in Windows, they cannot read the unselected Page Size options in the tabbed UI. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Change Win11 to dark mode (computer Settings > Personalization > Colors > Choose your mode) 2. Open Writer 3. Change UI to Tabbed mode (View > User Interface > Tabbed) 4. Go to Layout tab and click Page Size 5. Note unselected options Actual Results: Page Size unselected options are not readable in dark mode. Background is white, and I suspect the text is white as well. Note that the options under Orientation, Page Column, etc. are readable. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 157385] [Enhancement] Allow users to put navigator and toolbar a the top or bottom of the window.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157385 --- Comment #3 from MarjaE --- In case my original post wasn't clear: 1. The use case is to improve compatibility with vertical/rotated monitor setups. 2. If you're using standard page layouts in LibreOffice, the standard horizontal screen setups force a choice between zooming in enough to see what you're writing, and have written, and being able to see text at the top and footnotes at the bottom of the page. I've sometimes worked around this by using other page layouts. It's particularly bad with 16x9 as the de facto standard. I've looked for alternatives, but they tend to miss my accessibility needs and/or to be more expensive. 3. If you're reading sources in pdf layout, the standard horizontal screen setups often force a choice between zooming in enough to read the text, and zooming out enough to see an entire page at once. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Re thinking about this, ideally we'd need some parser since as I put in comment: - keys are not ordered - sometimes, only a space separate the pairs of key/values, sometimes it's a semicolon - perhaps you can put "key=value" but also "key = value" (I may be wrong but still there are the 2 previous quoted issues) So let's keep this naive band-aid fix.
