[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 158490] Can't enter Alt-codes now
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158490 xordevore...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||xordevore...@gmail.com --- Comment #4 from xordevore...@gmail.com --- Just a nit, but an important one for me as a writer: 2013 is the en dash, which is shorter than the em dash, at 2014. I can't get the code to work for me using the alt-x way in my browser (Firefox) isn't supporting it. Alt+0151 works in Firefox. alt-x works in notepad. I can type 2013 or 2014 and immediately type alt-x and it converted the number to a symbol. Not as fast as the numpad but I guess I must get used to this. What sucks is that up until very recently, the alt codes were working just fine in liberoffice, and deprecation be damned, alt codes work in every other application I have loaded on this windows machine but firefox and libreoffice. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

The Wikipedia article gives the history [1]. Deprecated when Microsoft implemented the "EnableHexNumpad" registry string value and opened the entire Unicode for use moving MS Windows beyond limitations of localized code pages. Nothing biased against Windows, the project is cross platform and Unicode centric with extensive ICU lib based handling rather than native Windows os/DE. Our Unicode toggle (+x) and Special Character dialog provide consistent UI cross platform. =-ref-= [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt_code -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

So any inputs from you? I think in general, the Find & Replace dialog is sufficient. But as noted it only supports PS. However, we now have a visual representation in the Style Indicator "Spotlight" (the SB Styles Deck) as for bug 38194 and enabling that shows current limitation with just PS support in Find & Replace dialog. And where Character Style is exposed in the Spotlight UI but we have no means to Find/Find All for CS. So, could extend Find & Replace to include CS handling to start But seems like some visual representation of Find/Select or Find All/Select All could be handled via the SB Styles Deck content panels--implement context menu & shortcuts for find and select of PS and CS from the SB. And possibly handle the other style types as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154739] Spelling correction deletes word
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154739 --- Comment #15 from Madhi --- When right clicking on a spelling error, and choosing always autocorrect to deletes the word. This occurs since several versions, and even in version 7.6.3. This error is not reproducible when the Language tool is disabled. I thought the problem might be with LT, but having read other comments, can the problem be with LO? Swithing on or off skia does not prevent the error. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
