Put the cursor into the first paragraph and press 'Clone formatting'.
Then apply that formatting to a selection of more than one paragraph of the

Setting "User printer metrics for text formatting" toggles
SCINPUTOPT_TEXTWYSIWYG and SC_UNONAME_PRMETRICS, guess that means the default
mode (without precise scaling fidelity) is necessary for performance of the
sheet?

But have to wonder if any improvement could be made to layout fidelity of the
general case without impacting performance?

[Bug 159354] New: Trackball sluggish after update to v7.5.9.2 x-64

2024-01-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159354

Bug ID: 159354
Summary: Trackball sluggish after update to v7.5.9.2 x-64
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.9.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jon...@icloud.com

Description:
Trying to select an area on an existing spreadsheet or Doc with my Kensington
trackball. It does not respond correctly. It (usuaally) fails to highlight my
selection when I drag the pointer. However, if I make a drag selection and it
does not highlight, if I then press my shift key the highlight appears.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Use pointer device to select, say, column b3->b12
2.The selection does not highlight, sometimes it partially highlights,
sometimes only the origin (ie: b3) highlights
3.let go of pointer.
4. press shift key, the highlight appears.

Actual Results:
described above

Expected Results:
I expect the highlight to appear as I drag. This was how every spreadsheet
program I have ever used works. It worked like that on my prior versions of
LibreOffice.

Still reproduced in recent trunk build:

Interesting that just the action of opening the dialog is enough to modify the
database range.

Not reproduced in OOo 3.3.
With linux-64-releases bibisect repo, the earliest version affected is
libreoffice-3.4.0rc1.
Possibly related to the filter and range work that Markus and Kohei did for LO
3.4, see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/3.4#Calc
Markus and Kohei, it's ancient commits but maybe you have an idea?

So, the tip is already correct. Sorry for the false alarm.

OK. It seems to be for a section with external contents. Also my wrong

[Bug 159353] New: Update Tip of the Day 35/225 - Adding Protected Section

2024-01-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159353

Bug ID: 159353
Summary: Update Tip of the Day 35/225 - Adding Protected
Section
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.2.0.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: theppi...@gmail.com

Description:
What suggested in Tip of the Day 35/225 cannot be followed:

"Want to keep a part of an editable document as read-only? Insert ▸ Section. "
"Add text to the section, then right-click “Edit Section” and check “Protect”."

There is no "Edit Section" entry in the context menu. Rather, checking
"Protect"
in the "Add Section" dialog is now on the way and straightforward.

Possible text (adjustments are welcome):

"Want to keep a part of an editable document as read-only? Insert ▸ Section, "
"with “Protect” checked. Then you can start adding text to the section."

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Help > Show Tip of the Day
2.Click "Next Tip" to skip to Tip 35/225

Actual Results:
Shows a tip that cannot be followed.

Expected Results:
Shows a tip that can be followed.

I can confirm this started with 0bdda083c5a7fca62942b3e9bef018d4c8135fe7 (build
[4d0632c6583e0f47bd14a122844953f63410b04d] in linux-64-6.2 bibisect repo).
Marking as "not a bug" as this was by design as a security measure.

Eike, do you have a suggestion for Torge's use case in comment 6? Or if there
isn't a satisfactory workaround, what would be a realistic enhancement request?

[Bug 156885] add toggle to show / hide authorship metadata in popup Calc comments

2024-01-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156885

An alternative would be to leave the comment always untouched, and the
author+date_time could be only added to a second/separate optional balloon,
possibly with its own comment-like features (show, hide, size, edit or
whatever). IDK whether such item could be supported by ODF.

The forced addition of the author+date_time info within current/existing
comments has broken too many properties of the normal comments already (e.g.
inserted pictures being distorted; position or size of comments; unwanted info
in many cases,...)

Dear ricky.tigg,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Bug 159352] New: Scrolling very laggy jerky on MacOS 13.6.3 Intel since update 7.5.9.2

2024-01-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159352

Bug ID: 159352
Summary: Scrolling very laggy jerky on MacOS 13.6.3 Intel since
update 7.5.9.2
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: johnfur...@legendarypharma.com

Since I updated to Libre Office 7.5.9.2 a few days ago, scrolling in the Calc
spreadsheet has been annoyingly jerky, with groups of cells disappearing for a
few seconds until I click on a different cell. Then, the missing cells appear.
It is distracting and delaying my work so much, that I intend to reinstall the
previous version of Libre Office, unless this gets fixed soon.
I have a 2020 MacBookPro Intel running MacOS Ventura 13.6.3.

[Bug 159025] Crash in: SwTableNode::DelFrames(SwRootFrame const*) after pasting a table in footnote and undoing twice

2024-01-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #15 from Stéphane Guillou (stragu)

Thanks Patrick, no crash anymore in:

Version: 24.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 6d71c21890c908225945f0fc3566255ed150f660
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

However:
- the table inserted in the page body at step 2 is not removed at the final
CTRL + Z
- I still get a crash if I add the following steps to comment 0:

8. Ctrl + Y
9. Close document, don't save

Not sure if it is linked to your commit or not.

Notice Print Preview eliminates the last column shown in Page Break behind the
Print screen

I have an HP 7255e printer, and everything was great until the last one or two
months. I love to find and type recipes in a Text Document using a postcard
sized at 4x6, but when I print them now, the card prints out so tiny ( approx.
1/4 the size) I cannot read them. I have no problem selecting the 4x6 card, and
I have no problem with the printer grabbing the correct paper tray, but in
Print Preview, LibreOffice shows me that the card will print with the tiniest
font, so I cancel it. I am frustrated because I thought this would be fixed
long ago. Like I said, I had no issues, and now my things won't print properly.
I also have used a "Bill Payment" list I created in your Spreadsheet, and now I
cannot print all columns, even though Page Break should show how the page will
print, but it does not show correctly. If I shrink the page, it actually prints
the page in the corner. Help!

(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #12)
> The topic was on the agenda of the design meeting.

I know that this has already been discussed in a previous design meeting, but I
would like to propose the following solution:

We can create a new Uno command to toggle the visibility of the comment's
authorship... it could be placed in the View menu ("View - Comment
Authorship").

If the toggle is unchecked, hovering over a cell with a comment would not
display author and date.

[Bug 159346] New: FILEOPEN PPTX Extra borders above first and below last table rows

2024-01-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159346

Bug ID: 159346
Summary: FILEOPEN PPTX Extra borders above first and below last
table rows
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: implementationError
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kelem...@ubuntu.com

The example file in 24.0 after the fix to bug 156718

This is a followup to bug 156718

In attachment 188911 there are extra border lines above the first row of the
table and below the last.

1. Open attachment 188911
-> border above the Old New row and below the Tau -> TRAIN

Version: 24.2.1.0.0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: d29208007d2f0d3de489d813900afa9667869d76
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: hu-HU (hu_HU.UTF-8); UI: hu-HU
Calc: threaded

This started in 6.4 when table style settings started to be imported:

https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/2c3f7d4ee0a0b2bf6efc41670645bd361f1b76ef

committer Andras TimarTue Jan 07

tdf#107604 Handle predefined table styles.

then all rows got above/below borders.
That improved to only the top/bottom rows having the extra borders in 7.4 with:

https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/3faf005a367cbd28077403bf93810bbaf4805851

author Gülşah Köse Tue Feb 01 16:03:14 2022 +0300
committer Gülşah Köse Wed Mar 02 11:57:25
2022 +0100

tdf#135843 Implement inside horizontal vertical borders.

After the fix to bug 156718 I see an extra bottom border of the first row too,
so that's a minor regression.

The 3D Effects of MS Office are in many aspects not compatible with the
extrusion properties in ODF:
Bevel - no Bevel
more than three lights - max two lights
preset for camera - NA
preset for lighting - NA
preset for material - NA
contour color - NA
3D on groups - NA
three 3D modes for text - no definition in ODF, one mode in LO
stroke kept in 3D - no definition in ODF, not displayed in LO (bug 159334)

Nevertheless we should try to show a custom-shape in extruded mode as good as
possible. That is better than totally ignoring extrusion and 3D rotation. I'll
try to do something it that direction.
