[Bug 159549] New: FORMATTING LO Writer 7.6 and 24.2 alter settings of Text Body paragraph style when renaming style as Body Text
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159549 Bug ID: 159549 Summary: FORMATTING LO Writer 7.6 and 24.2 alter settings of Text Body paragraph style when renaming style as Body Text Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.6.0.0 beta1+ Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: kennethrburk...@proton.me Created attachment 192378 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=192378=edit The line in the sample document renders differently in LO 7.5.9 than in later versions of LibreOffice Writer Consistent with the modification reported in Bug # 154933, LO Writer versions after 7.5.9 intentionally rename paragraph styles named "Text Body" in documents created with earlier versions of LO to "Body Text". The problem is that in that conversion, multiple settings of the style are altered. Steps to reproduce: Create file in LO Writer 7.5.9 or earlier. Include a paragraph using paragraph style named Text Body with settings: Font: Charis SIL Compact Regular 11 pt Indent Before text: 0.0 pt After text: 0.0 pt First line: 0.0 pt Spacing Above paragraph: 0.0 pt Below paragraph: 8.0 pt Line spacing Fixed of 13.5 pt Save file Open the same file in LO Writer 7.6 or 24.2 The paragraph previously using the Text Body style now is set to use the Body Text style. The Body text style now shows the following settings: Font: Charis SIL Compact Regular 10 pt Indent Before text: 0.0 pt After text: 0.0 pt First line: 0.0 pt Spacing Above paragraph: 0.0 pt Below paragraph: 5.8 pt Line spacing Fixed of 11.5 pt Behavior is the same on Windows Terminal Server 2016 and on MacBook Air 2020 OS Sonoma 14.2.1. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 134489] Paste as RTF substantial slow compared to save as RTF
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134489 --- Comment #9 from QA Administrators --- Dear Telesto, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. [Bug 123972] UI menu disappears before submenu can open (GTK3 and Wayland)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123972 Nick Levinson changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|1 |0 Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED --- Comment #28 from Nick Levinson --- The problem remains. This is about using menu alt-character shortcuts, not F10. Menu alt-character shortcuts are made available because speed typists expect them, but the reported problem still applies and thus defeats them. F10 and arrows work without this problem. But menu alt-character shortcuts (mainly in Word or Calc the File menu by alt-f or the Format menu by alt-o) should also work as expected. If you're a fast typist, you use the keys in the proper order (hold alt down, type the character, release the character, and release alt) and then go to your next step. But, in that case, when the menu opens, if the first menu command has a submenu, the menu closes before the submenu can open. So the typist has to repeat the step or use another tactic, either way being slowed. If the typist is looking at an original document and not at the screen, they may be unaware that the command didn't apply and subsequent typing may have unexpected results, which may have to be fixed, slowing the typist. Help menu > About LO: Version: 7.6.4.1 (X86_64) Build ID: 60(Build:1) CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 6.6; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Wayland is probably still running unless the default was changed. [Bug 159544] Function COUNTIFS empty cells are counted up to the nearest filled one, EDITING
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159544 --- Comment #6 from ady --- tdf#146790 and tdf#151958 seem somewhat related to this, especially when Eike pushed "Disable binary search on sorted cache for current releases" for the later. Quoting Eike: " I disabled it at a central place that is called by all affected functions to decide whether to use the sorted cache or direct search. " IDK whether something else was done to re-introduce the potential better performance at a later time. At any rate, there is (still) a bug in LO 7.6 (at least) and up to a recent 24.8 alpha. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Bug 158914] Calc leaks RAM in response to any action
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158914 --- Comment #8 from Allen Belletti --- Talked to the Smart Scroll author a bit. He mentioned that the tool sends "Accessibility requests [...] in order to find out if the mouse cursor is over an edge of a scrollable area." He also says that they're sent as infrequently as possible, "typically only while the cursor is moving." That matches what we're seeing here, as memory is only leaked when moving the cursor and even then, only over most of the Calc window (per the last paragraph of my Comment #2 here). It does sound like Calc is somehow leaking memory while handling these requests, since the leak does not show up in any other application, even within LibreOffice. It's probably not a code path that sees heavy use in "normal" circumstances. Fortunately for me, I'm able to turn off the features of Smart Scroll which trigger the bug while still retaining the features that I need. So for my personal situation, that's a 100% workaround. Feel free to close this, or let it lie until someone else runs into something similar. Of course, if some ambitious soul does want to investigate, I'm happy to run a debug version or otherwise help out with testing, replication, and data-gathering. Appreciate the interest on what's really a very obscure situation! Cheers, Allen -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
