2024-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 159588
Summary: Query-GUI: LOWER isn't supported in Query-GUI if
condition is LIKE …
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.2.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rob...@familiegrosskopf.de

Created attachment 192419
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=192419&action=edit
Test both queries. Execute the queries in design mode.

Open the attached database file.
Execute both queries.
Both will look the same.
Open the query gui (Design Mode).
Execute the query in design mode.

qry_Lower won't be executed.
An error appears:
syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting BETWEEN or IN or SQL_TOKEN_LIKE at
/home/buildslave/source/libo-core/dbaccess/source/core/api/SingleSelectQueryComposer.cxx:108

Seems design mode doesn't know anything about LOWER or interprets it wrong way.

Bug appears in LO 24.2.0.3, but also in all earlier versions of LO. Tested here
with OpenSUSE 15.4 64bit rpm Linux.

Bug ID: 159587
Summary: OpenPGP: don't show confirmation dialog when
Certificate Manager was launched successfully
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.8.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: l...@disr.it

Description:
OpenPGP: don't show confirmation dialog when Certificate Manager was launched
successfully

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a writer document, type anything and save
2. open File > Digital Signature > Digital Signatures > Start Certificate
Manager

Actual Results:
When GPG Suite is installed on macOS, GPG Keychain opens (expected).
LibreOffice shows a confirmation dialog stating:
"Information: You have opened the certificate manager at
/Applications/GPG Keychain.app" OK

Expected Results:
That dialog has no value. The certificate manager will open above existing open
windows so always be visible to the user. There really is no need to bother the
user to click OK for an action they can visually see in front of themselves.

Showing a dialog is a great idea, but only when there is a problem and things
need fixing. WHen things work as expected I'd prefer to not complicate user
workflows unnecessarily.

Affected version is probably the first whenever the option to select a

Currently only a near static snapshot of any random current run is shown which

Many times the solver is impossible to stop using the stop button. Also when it

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open solver the options
2.choose any solver engine
3.enter custom values
4. close sheet
5. open a new sheet and enter solver, then options, then engine.

Actual Results:
Use 15 digits of precision on all settings so very tedious to re-enter all
fields everytime one needs to run solver. At the present even closing solver
requires reentry of option settings. Needs to save changes as default or have a
check box to save as default. Also would need a reset default option for
newbies.

Expected Results:
Any changes to solver engine options should be permanent.

At least saving custom changes to the individual sheet would be better than
what is currently present.

Dear Mike Kaganski,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Dear mirko.pieropan,

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

> Double-click on axis and you can select a logarithmic scale. [comment 5]

I think this misunderstands (or comments on the wrong bug).

This bug (bug 159550) is about the range automatically chosen for the right
y-axis for the given spreadsheet data.

"Right scale is 0 to 16 even though temperature data range is -15 to 5."

(In the radio-button control for "Ability to choose value type", I wrote "may
not use log scale", because in this case the temperature data include both
positive and negative values, so the range includes 0. But a logarithmic axis
scale cannot include value 0.There is no e such that 10^e == 0.)

> Double click on 'Hi' and 'Lo' series

(If still relevant, can you clarify what to click?
I tried double clicking on a light blue range bar created from the Hi and Lo
values, but its Option tab does not have the option "Show bars side by side".)

[Bug 154933] Rename "Text body" to "Body text"

2024-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154933

Thank you for responding to my post. I should also let you know I opened a
separate bug report, number 159549, to report the same problem. I have read the
instructions on how to file bug reports, but this is the first bug report I
have submitted. Please be patient with me if I am not following proper protocol
here.

As far as I can tell, for the test document the behavior is the same in LO
version 7.6.2 and version 24.2. I have not tested LO 24.8.0.0.alpha0+. The
altered behavior of some paragraphs occurs between LO 7.5.9 and LO 7.6 and
later versions.

After I uploaded the document I found it contains in its original version (as
created by LO version 7.5.9) both a paragraph style named "Text Body" and
another style named "Body Text." The "Body Text" style was listed as hidden and
was not used by any paragraphs in the document when loaded by LO 7.5.9 and
earlier. The 2 paragraph styles have different settings. When the document is
opened in LO 7.6 and later, paragraphs originally given the Text Body style are
re-assigned to the Body Text style and take on the settings of the Body Text
style. This alters the properties of those paragraphs.

As a workaround when creating future documents it would seem my team could
substitute the Body Text style with desired settings instead of the Text Body
style. The problem for us is the hundreds of existing documents that have Text
Body and Body Text styles coexisting in the same document. If LibreOffice
Writer could be made to check to see if both styles exist in the same document
and then leave Text Body in place when it finds both present, that might help
avert the problem my office has encountered.

Thank you again for looking into this problem.

[Bug 159583] New: No fallback to C local with

2024-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159583

Bug ID: 159583
Summary: No fallback to C local with
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tagwerk19.documentfoundat...@innerjoin.org

Created attachment 192415
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=192415&action=edit
Test file with accent

SUMMARY:

Libreoffice gives a:

(soffice:1159): Gtk-WARNING **: 17:18:05.556: Locale not supported by C
library.
Using the fallback 'C' locale.

for some systems when trying to use en_SE.UTF-8 for "Time" (which should
give you the ISO date format of -MM-DD).

However the issue is that not all systems give this error, with some you
don't fallback to the 'C' locale and you can get corrupt data.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

I'm only able to reproduce this on an "old" system that has been upgraded
over the years. Following the same steps on a newly built system does not
lead to the failure.

Set up a "vanilla" locale, checking with locale (rather than localectl)

Try "libreoffice --cat testfile.docx | od -c | more"

Adjust the locale to include en_SE.UTF-8, either by setting the LC_TIME
environment variable or choosing en_SE.UTF-8 in the KDE regional settings,
again check with locale:

Repeat the "libreoffice --cat testfile.docx | od -c | more"

OBSERVED RESULTS:

"libreoffice --cat ..." reads the given file and writes it to STDOUT as
text (which should be UTF-8 encoded)

If you are fortunate, you get:

$ libreoffice --cat testdoc.docx | od -c
000 357 273 277 A T e s t F i l e :
020 D i f f i c u l t 303 251 \n \n

or, if you are not so fortunate:

$ libreoffice --cat testdoc.docx | od -c
000 A T e s t F i l e : D i f
020 f i c u l t 351 \n \n

The latter with:

$ locale
locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC=en_US.UTF-8
LC_TIME=en_SE.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY=en_US.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER=en_US.UTF-8
LC_NAME=en_US.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=en_US.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=en_US.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=en_US.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=en_US.UTF-8
LC_ALL=

You can test whether the output is proper UTF-8 by piping into "iconv"

$ libreoffice --cat testdoc.docx | iconv -f UTF-8 -t UTF-8

WISHED FOR RESULTS:

This issue is likely dependent of the update history of the underlying
system, however the text conversion should *fail* rather than output
"corrupt"
 UTF-8.

It may be that this extra bulletproofing has been done in later releases,
it
would be nice to have confirmation

[Bug 159581] New: Calc version 24.2.0.3 page format crash after opening existing xlsx file - fals row height and char color in some combination

2024-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159581

Bug ID: 159581
Summary: Calc version 24.2.0.3 page format crash after opening
existing xlsx file - fals row height and char color in
some combination
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.2.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: laszlo.m...@yahoo.com

Description:
In the new 24.2.0.3 version, I found new bugs at FILEOPEN on the existing
FORMATTING :
- the new version can completely ruin the cell sizes (row height) of the
existing table. (xlsx table)
- Unwanted change in the character colors in the existing table - on green
background the black chars changed when oened the file to white char on the
green backgroud! (xlsx table)
The above problem massively occurs when use the "*.xlsx " file formats,
especially the changing of the cell sizes (height) every time when the file
opened.
The .xlsx file was created many versions ago, an last time it was used without
any problem with the installed verion 7.6.4 ( Hungarian language) on Windows 10
Home and Windows 11 professional.
Operating systems with the regular updates.
After installing (update) the Libreoffice 24.2.0.3 version (64 bit) We found
with the file above mentioned bugs after opening the file, it made the
mentioned bug on all the existing pages (Rows height changed to a nonses high,
the characters that originally was black char on green backround changet to a
nonsense white colored char on green backround). This bug occurs on both win11
pro and win 10 home. If you correct manually the format to the old xls format,
it's ok, but if you save it on any xlsx format at the next open bugs happen
again.
I also found the same bugs, especially the unwanted changing of the rows
height, in a new xlsx file created newly from scratch and after I put 4 or 5
pages and just copy-pasted the content from an xls format file, after saving
the new xlsx file and reopen it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. conditional format in some cell area, first 3 row freeze, etc
2. save xlsx format
3.reload xlsx file

Actual Results:
on formatted pages, the rows height randomly and unwantedly increased
insome caseses black chars on green background changed to white chars

Expected Results:
not changing presetted row heights, remain the previous as it saved also the
character colors

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
If it helps I can send a - not public - xlsx example just for the developer to
help
We tried it on different windows versions (10, 11, home professional) and
different machines with the same result.

[Bug 157042] [Linux only] Calc crashes when closed in rtl::str::release<_rtl_uString>(_rtl_uString*) (steps in comment 27)

2024-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157042

Yes, after installing all the 24.2.0.3 packages from LibreOffice, I can still
crash Calc on close, but only with the kde vcl.

The "Send crash reports" option was enabled, so hopefully you got one.

The KCrash Handler output wasn't very helpful, but here's the relevant bit:

  [KCrash Handler]
  #4 0x7fef7a7c3210 in rtl_uString_release () from
/opt/libreoffice24.2/program/libuno_sal.so.3
  #5 0x7fef76e0f40b in ?? () from
/opt/libreoffice24.2/program/libmergedlo.so
  #6 0x7fef76f61ee3 in ?? () from
/opt/libreoffice24.2/program/libmergedlo.so

Finally, I was poking around in the crash reports and came across a number of
 signatures for Linux & 24.2.0.3

  https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/signature/%3Cname%20omitted%3E

A number of them are crashing at rtl::str::release():

[Bug 159580] New: My selection is not showing in reverse background in writer

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.5.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: george.pope_...@yahoo.com

Description:
I'm in Writer and editing a document; somehow I lost the selection view
(reverse background in blue behind the letters); this makes it difficult to
know what I'm cutting or copying. Per online searching, this is an unsolved
problem for others, too. This makes my product unusable.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I don't know -- a trandom mis-typing of something, using an unknown
modification key (Shift, Alt. &/or CTRL)
2. I think I may have been trying to go [CTRL]+[RT]
3.

Actual Results:
When I looked at my selection it looked like normal text, without the blue
background normally associated with selected text.

Expected Results:
selection appears in reverse: blue background(black text) instead of white
background; The selection should have appeared in blue background, so I can
easily see what I'm about to cut. (CTRL+X)

Not necessarily; it depends on the arguments used for this specific case. We
would need the file, in order to review whether the data is sorted or not, and
to review whether the arguments of the function correspond to that.

Having said that, there are reports not yet resolved, especially for unsorted
data.

We already provide ICU library transliteration based UNO toggle to upper case,
to lower case, to capitalize every word, and to sentence case each with an
accelerator, as well as a cyclic widget to apply the affect in sequence (Shift
+ F3).

If you don't like the shortcut or accelerators assigned, use the Tools ->
Customize and set a keyboard or context menu.

The os/DE keyboard mapping of the key is not otherwise available to
customize, and not clear making it so would be of benefit cross platform for
the unmoderated key to toggle between .uno:ChangeCaseToUpper and
.uno:ChangeCaseToLower

  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Chart
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

Description:
Following upgrade charts in a Calc file were found to be images and no longer
OLE objects. This happened when uppgrading from 7.5 to 7.6 and has happened
again upgrading from 7.6.4 to 24.2.0.3.
Upgrade has been done using the .msi file and the offline help was also
installed each time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. All LibreOffice files are closed (version 7.6.4.1)
2. LibreOffice .msi file is download (version 24.2.0.3)
3. msi file is run and option of Custom Installation is used.
4. Installation location is kept as default, no changes are made. Changes were
made in previous version to choose dictionaries and interface langgueage, UK
English.
5. Help files are also installed.
6. Computer is restarted.
7. LibreOffice is run and file opened.
8. When new data is added to the Calc file it is found that the relevant chart
is not updated.
9. When trying to open the relevant chart it is found it has been converted to
an image.

Actual Results:
Chart is converted to image in Calc.

Expected Results:
Chart should remain as a chart.

Additional Info:
The previous version 7.6.4.1 was installed as a parallel install. Opening the
Calc file in this version also shows the Chart as an image.

I tested with all renderings, the binding part can be reproduce this quite

[Bug 159577] New: Smallest size of Properties window exceeds vertical length of small displays

2024-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159577

Bug ID: 159577
Summary: Smallest size of Properties window exceeds vertical
length of small displays
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.2.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: joey.joey...@gmail.com

Description:
In LO 7.5 and older, the Properties window (File > Properties) can comfortably
fit within small displays.

Since LO 24.2, the Properties window exceeds the vertical height in some
smaller displays, resulting in buttons on bottom right of properties window
beyond reach, and no way to resize the window even with keyboard shortcuts.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open any LO app (writer, calc, etc) on a computer with a small display
2. Go to File > Properties
3. Observe the Properties window size in both LO 24.2 and LO 7.5

Actual Results:
In LO 7.5, the Properties window can fit inside my laptop's 11-inch display.
In LO 24.2, the Properties window is too large that the buttons on the bottom
right is beyond reach, with no way to resize the window.

Expected Results:
The default properties window size in 24.2 should be the same as in 7.5 and
older, or the window should be resizable by the user to any size.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
My laptop has an 11-inch 16:9 display.
I have only tested on Linux with Xfce desktop, haven't tested on other OSes.

[Bug 159576] New: Feature Request: Change Capitalization by SELECT + CAPS LOCK

2024-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159576

Bug ID: 159576
Summary: Feature Request: Change Capitalization by SELECT +
CAPS LOCK
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gt1wp...@duck.com

Description:
Issue: For years on multiple applications, I keep trying to EDIT previously
typed incorrect case, such as CAPS LOCK inadeptly left on/off or deciding a
String would be better presented if it wasn't in ALL CAPS, by selecting all the
text in question and then pressing the CAPS LOCK button on the keyboard. This
clearly does nothing, but it feels like it should.

Solution: LibreOffice subscribe to status of CAPS LOCK on systems that support
(PCs must allow this for it to show as overlay of CAPS LOCK ON such as on my
work PC) and when text is selected (highlighted) and then a change in the caps
lock state is identifed invert Cap to lowercase and vice versa.

Steps to Reproduce:
type word with caps lock on
Highlight word with SHIFT+Arrow (or mouse)
press CAPSLOCK button on keyboard

Actual Results:
No reaction

Expected Results:
CHANGE text from "yOUR mOM" to "Your Mom"

Reproducible: Always

Let's try
1- Create the chart with the wizard, select the type and finish.
2- Double-click to edit the chart.
3- Double-click on x-axis, on [Positioning], select for 'place labels' 'outside
star', Ok.
4- Double-click on 'Hi' and 'Lo' series, on [Options], select 'Secondary
y-axis', and 'Show bars side by side'.

Double-click on axis and you can select a logarithmic scale.

Hi,

I got myself a new Win 11 machine in May of 2023. My old Win 10 box went
kaput.

I don't think I've ever seen this issue on my new machine. However, I did
recently notice that LO seemed sluggish so I then turned on Skia for all
rendering (not sure why it was off) and things sped up considerably. I haven't
seen any funny artifacts.

Since I don't see the issue anymore, I suppose that you could mark this bug as
"worksforme".

[Bug 159575] New: Add --page (or similar) command line argument for opening and converting files/text extraction, and search argument for opening

2024-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159575

Bug ID: 159575
Summary: Add --page (or similar) command line argument for
opening and converting files/text extraction, and
search argument for opening
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.9.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: darrenldl...@gmail.com

Description:
This request is primarily about allowing better integration of Writer with
search tools like Recoll, ripgrep-all, etc. I admit this is likely a niche use
case.

Right now, there are the following issues with the command line interface (to
the best of my knowledge):
- Text extraction via --text (or the equivalent --convert-to) does not contain
separators between pages, so there is no way for an indexer to collect page
  number during indexing.
- This is possible for PDFs as pdftotext from poppler-utils insert
separators between pages, and also have a page range arguments, allowing
  page-by-page text dump.
- I find the second option (explicit page number command line arguments) to
be clearer in what behaviour to expect. For instance, I don't know what
happens if the separator sequence appears in PDF content - does pdftotext
  escape the sequence?
- No way to ask Writer to jump to a specific page when opening document file.
- This is possible for PDFs as most PDF viewers accept a page argument to
  open to.
- Passing page number when launching a PDF viewer is the primary way for
search tools to make user experience as smooth as possible.
- No way to ask Writer to begin a search.
- This is possible for PDFs as most PDF viewers accept a search argument at
  launch.
- This is a step further from above, but some search tools (namely Recoll)
try to jump to the search result (or as close as possible) by also
picking
a word to search for on top of picking a page to go to.

Suggested additions:
- Page number arguments for start and end page range for text extraction (or
  conversion in general).
- Page number argument to open to at launch.
- Argument to specify string to search for at launch. This argument is
processed
after the above page number argument.

Steps to Reproduce:
N/A

Actual Results:
N/A

Expected Results:
N/A

Reproducible: Always

With the new comment style it's pretty simple to change on the paragraph style.
But I agree that we should add indentation before/after by default.

In sw/source/core/doc/DocumentStylePoolManager.cxx the attribute for
RES_POOLCOLL_COMMENT needs to be added. The prototype might come from
RES_POOLCOLL_HTML_BLOCKQUOTE leftMargin/rightMargin.

yes, all the bits in ini-files etc. should be the same after a MAR-based

Happens when you insert text and the warning "Strings without quotes are
interpreted as defined names or references or column/row labels." appear. The
label is "valueft" in conditionalentry.ui (unclear what happens on mobile
devices for conditionalentrymobile.ui). The label seems to be full-sized, so no
issue on the first glance. Maybe it depends on some other control- the ui is
quite complex.

No. The problem in 88091 is caused by a 90° z-rotation specified in a
