This also holds true for x11/win/qt5 VCL backends when focus is on any toolbar
item, for example, the save button in the standard toolbar, ironic!

For me Gtk3 backend already works as expected.

Here is a patch that makes these other backends also work as expected:

Version|4.2.8.2 release |4.2.0.4 release

--- Comment #8 from Kevin Suo  ---
Bug introduced by the any of the following 3 commits related to the switch to
use mdds for cell storage.

1. commit c008dc483f8c6840803983e7e351cec6fdd32070
Author: Kohei Yoshida
Date:   Fri May 24 11:52:18 2013 -0400

Switch to using multi_type_vector for cell storage.

2. commit 3b0c069c9a157c4cd9ec5636c776115af6d9664f
Author: Kohei Yoshida
Date:   Wed Jun 19 11:54:12 2013 -0400

Don't forget to return true if we are successful.

3. commit e3b91687590f08438b5a5d4eec72e634b11a8589
Author: Kohei Yoshida
Date:   Wed Jun 19 16:48:32 2013 -0400

Fix the horizontal cell iterator.

(Note that #2 is to fix the hang when open a calc document, and #3 is to fix a
crach when open a calc document, so the most possible first bad commit is #1.
However, #3 may also possible to cause the bug.)

==

Below I describe how I identified the 3 commits, in case someone is interested:

1. Set up a old Fedora 19 VM.
Branch off based on:
commit ac84ffb3c90bb5788608eadf2177f587021daaad (Remove unnecessary debug
outputs that would slow down perf tests., 2013-05-22)

I use this as the base for the new branch because it is the last known commit
which can pass the build before commit c7bdee8dbd1cf260a8513a0d31b36f90daa70f1c
which added "#include but this header
file does not exists in mdds 0.8.1 (this header is added in 0.9.0).

2. cherry-pick the mdds 0.9.0 commits:
$ git cherry-pick -x 878f46727d8bcf1f75d056d9270ef3e2fe0b9d88
$ git cherry-pick -x bb7d5ce2a8bd1dca51eb627aa2df811541053969
$ git cherry-pick -x 4347e3b15f10784b482544bd6324d3fcd4f0146c

and adjust the following file (see mdds 0.9.0 API Incompatibility Note)

sc/inc/mtvelements.hxx:

-typedef mdds::mtv::custom_block_func1 BCBlkFunc;
+typedef mdds::mtv::custom_block_func1 BCBlkFunc;

-typedef mdds::mtv::custom_block_func1 CTAttrFunc;
+typedef mdds::mtv::custom_block_func1
CTAttrFunc;

sc/source/core/tool/scmatrix.cxx:
-static void delete_block(mdds::mtv::base_element_block* p)
+static void delete_block(const mdds::mtv::base_element_block* p)

Build successful. Tested and bug does not exists.

3. Cherry-pick the first commit in the bibisect range:
c7bdee8dbd1cf260a8513a0d31b36f90daa70f1c Define block types for string, edit
text and formula cell elements.
(need to fix a confict due to step 2)

4. Commit the following changes to make the above commit buildable:
sc/inc/mtvelements.hxx
 // Cell container
 typedef mdds::mtv::custom_block_func3<
-sc::element_type_string, sc::string_block,
-sc::element_type_edittext, sc::edittext_block,
-sc::element_type_formula, sc::formula_block> CellFunc;
+sc::string_block,
+sc::edittext_block,
+sc::formula_block> CellFunc;

Build successful. Bug does not exists.

5. cherry-pick
77ec47356025de4e46f48f94629f896349b0a8e5 Reduce dependency on mtvelements.hxx
header.
build successful. Bug does not exists.

6. Cherry-pick
e9c5eb60d53204261c7937108bd53e86e46fc2f3 Re-org the headers a bit. In
column?.cxx, column.hxx must be the first.
Building sucessful. Bug does not exists.

7. cherry-pick
75dec25730c88bdb8eb5e2a3f92689460fa89d29 Add new cell container to ScColumn.
No need to build and test because this change does not change any behaviour.

8. Cherry-pick
c008dc483f8c6840803983e7e351cec6fdd32070 Switch to using multi_type_vector for
cell storage.
(need to resolve conflicts)
Building sucessful, but hang when opening the test file and crash when create
empty calc document, so we need next steps.

9. Cherry-pick these two commits which are for the fix of the hang and the
crash:
3b0c069c9a157c4cd9ec5636c776115af6d9664f Don't forget to return true if we are
successful.
e3b91687590f08438b5a5d4eec72e634b11a8589 Fix the horizontal cell iterator.

Build successful. But exists!

So:
e3b91687590f08438b5a5d4eec72e634b11a8589 Fix the horizontal cell iterator.
3b0c069c9a157c4cd9ec5636c776115af6d9664f Don't forget to return true if we are
successful.
c008dc483f8c6840803983e7e351cec6fdd32070 Switch to using multi_type_vector for

Dear David Clayton,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Bug 101639] [EMF] FILEOPEN Missing hatch style implementation (=pattern) (Comment 19)

2024-02-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101639

--- Comment #30 from QA Administrators  ---
Dear Oliver Sander,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Hello Gabor Kelemen,

I have looked at both attachments; excel file and screenshot. There is an
additional break in excel which showed in LO calc spreadsheet. I removed the
linebreak and it resolved the issue. I did this similarly in both stable and
master builds.

Is this a simple fix ok for you?

--- Comment #8 from Stéphane Guillou (stragu)

You don't even need to have "hide after animation" on in the Effect Options to
reproduce this. Using an effect from the "Exit" category triggered by object
click is enough.
And the opposite problem also exists: if an object uses an Entrance effect, it
disappears instead at the end.

Generalising the issue:

Since b22e80f550338670dbe9cef9370ca97bbae3bd6d, an animation that is triggered
by clicking another object goes back to its initial state when the animation is
finished. This solved bug 88969 and allows repeating such animations without
switching slides, but it only works for users who actually want the object to
automatically go back to the start state (or for whom it does not matter
because the end state is the same as the initial state, i.e. a "cyclic"
animation).

I'd call this an implementation error rather than a regression.

We should either:
- allow repeating the animation without the object always settling to its start
state; or
- make the fix for bug 88969 optional (but the dialog doesn't need more
complexity in my opinion)

UX/Design team, what do you think?

OK. If you are consistently getting to the same crash point each time (i.e.
clicking the Save button in the Save As dialog) that is good to know. I somehow
got the impression that you were able to get as far as clicking the Save button
in the Save As dialog and it would crash. Then, when you restarted LibreOffice,
you would see the same crash immediately like some sort broken state was
accumulating between launches.

I committed a small change that will be in tomorrow's (23 February 2024)
nightly master build (see
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152524#c57). It won't fix
anything but it reverts my last attempted fix so that your crash logs will show
the main thread so I can see where in the LibreOffice code the crash occurs. My
last attempted fix executed the gpg command on its own separate thread and
since the crash corrupts memory, there is no main thread stack in your latest
crash logs so I couldn't tell what LibreOffice code was running.

Anyway, with tomorrow's nightly master build, can you post a new crash log when
you click the Save button in the Save As dialog?

Also, can you try digitally signing a document without encryption? That process
also displays the Select Certificate dialog so if digital signing also crashes,
that might give me some ideas of what to do next.

In all tests I do reach the save dialog and tick the "Encrypt with GPG key"
option. Any crashes reported in recent testing happend after clicking OK in the
save as dialog.

The crashes that happened in the past when opening LibreOffice seem to no
longer happen.

I'd like to add to this list, the option of using a mono spaced font (also see
#95406).

Reading plain text in variable width is fine, but reading formulas in the same
is an accessibility challenge for myself.

I can appreciate the developers wanting the cleanest and least obtrusive
solution without adding bloat, which sometimes means pushing back on user
requests. However solving this problem so that everyone is happy will benefit
LO as a product and as a community.

See attached screenshot of how the main screen of Base looks like in a dark

The labels "Database", "Tasks" and "Forms" should be white, because the
background is a dark shade of gray.

On a light theme, the same gray background is used and the font is white.

[Bug 159851] New: Redraw issue when resizing the comment width in Writer

2024-02-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159851

Bug ID: 159851
   Summary: Redraw issue when resizing the comment width in Writer
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.8.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium

  Reporter: rafael.palma.l...@gmail.com

Created attachment 192722
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=192722=edit
Screenshots of the problem

Since 24.8 the width of the comment section is resizable. However, as soon as
it is resized, the background is not repainted.

Steps to reproduce
1) Create a blank Writer doc
2) Add some text, select it and then add a comment (Ctrl + Alt + C)
3) Now resize the comment section to make it wider
4) Notice that only the comment is resized; the gray area beneath it is not
repainted
5) Now scroll down a bit; the background is repainted
6) Now make the comment section narrower
7) Even when scrolling, the gray area beneath it remains there

See attached ODG with screenshots of the problem.

Weeel, I paid money for a 5-user license of Textmaker not all that long ago
because the free version didn't support running page headers/footers and a few
other things. I do not pay for or use their Cloud/online stuff.

OnlyOffice gives away the desktop editors/software for free and sells
subscriptions to their cloud/online version used by companies. They did a
bang-up job on the desktop editors which run on Linux and many other platforms
and they really focused on the collaboration aspect when they went to the cloud
services so OnlyOffice is pretty well funded with lots of new features.

It appears LibreOffice online was a complete bust.
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-online/

I'm old so please forgive me if the gray cells cross something but . . .

StarOffice 5.2 had _a_ multi-tab feature (which might have been multiple
documents)

StarOffice was the predecessor to OpenOffice, was it not?

Somewhere in the middle between OpenOffice and Oracle's consumption of SUN
Microsystems IBM took the OpenOffice code base and created Lotus Symphony (not
to be confused with the MS DOS version of Lotus Symphony) which actually
supported multiple tabs.

https://www.logikalsolutions.com/wordpress/information-technology/lotus-symphony/

After or about the time there-of the creation of LibreOffice IBM decided the
had the new editor they wanted for Lotus Notes and they released the Lotus
Symphony code back to the project.

So it's not really a "new feature" request but more of an excavate and find out
how this got lost request.

The dirty little secret about funding OpenSource projects is that you have to
have a solid code base prior to asking for support contracts and large
donations.

Stability == revenue stream

Large sweeping changes so files can't be used between versions == welfare

There are many times I am tempted to set up an OS/2 Warp machine so I can have
Lotus SmartSuite again. Thankfully I'm writing more software than books right
now.

The last book I wrote with LO is my book on Emacs. I had to use Craigslist to
find an editor that would use LO and Linux Mint. That was before Christmas.
After posting this I'm going to fire them because they are still not done.

For previous books there was always someone on ServiceScape that would do it
and give me a professional editing job in just a couple weeks. Nobody on
ServiceScape will touch LO anymore and that is the largest pool of quality
freelance editors I have found in my 30+ years of writing.

Hi Roland,

What we are experiencing here is the downside of the open source economics
model. You give the code away for free, then hold the user hostage for
corrections and enhancements. And the developers do deserve to be paid for
what they do. Unfortunately, individuals can not afford to to put the
developers on their payroll. So this very, very legitimate request gets
ignored year after year after year.

I personally use the wildly abandoned Word Pro, which runs circles around LO,
and LO when I have to share things with customers. If I would have to describe
LO in a single word, I'd have to say it would be "awkward". Division tabs
would go so, so far to improve that complaint, but unless someone with deep
pockets sets forward, don't hold your breath.

Observer the F11 cyclic toggle, but don't have an issue with that behavior.

+F6 takes focus into document body. While our assistive technology
minded F10, F6 cycle through UI elements.

+F5 works to show or hide the SB deck regardless of Deck or Content panel
with focus.

All seems correct.

Confirm STR.

When F11 opens the Navigator SB deck, focus is on the style type tab bar of the
Content panel.

Default on opening lands on the Paragraph content panel. In that state, a
+S shortcut does not function. Nor with any selection on the styles Tab
bar.

However, with advance into the Style listing to land pointer focus on a
viable style, it allows the +S shortcut to fire and save.

Similar mis-handling of the ^S shortcut when pointer focus is advanced by TAB
out of the Styles content panel and onto the SB's Tab Bar.

Seems an issue in the SB framework for handling the key?

[Bug 159826] Bullets and numbering number: "none" does not display a number

2024-02-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159826

--- Comment #2 from mqx68...@zbock.com ---

level 2. Only the number of level 1 should be displayed.
