In Menu Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View > (Graphic Output) 1.1 Uncheck / DISABLE the check box named "Use Skia for all rendering". 2. When you press OK in the Options dialog, you will be presented with a button, asking to restart LO. Press that button to allow it. 3. A few seconds later, LO will restart. Go again to the same Options menu and review that indeed the aforementioned checkbox is still unchecked / DISABLED (because there have been cases in which the setting does not prevail). Take note of this and get out of the Options dialog. 4. Now proceed to perform the original test to replicate the problematic behavior with the insertion of the push button. 5. Go to menu Help > About and copy the new information to the clipboard, so you can paste it in your next comment here. It is expected that at least 1 item should be different (Skia vs Default). Please don't change any options / settings before copying this version information. 5. Please report the result of this new test in a new comment here, and paste the new version information in the same new comment. 6. Your monitor has a smaller resolution than mine (2560x1080 VS 3440x1440). 2. I use dual monitors, you didn't mention if you were or not. 3. I use linux mint (20.3) with kernel 5.4. You use Ubuntu with a newer kernel (6.5). I personally dont think it makes a difference but who knows... 4. I dont use Windows. The comparison is not relevant. LO actually runs better on windows in my experience (on my surface pro 7 its much more fluid and responsive than on my Mint desktop). 5. You use LO 7.3, I use 7.6. 6. [Bug 156885] add toggle to show / hide authorship metadata in popup Calc comments

When is it going > to be fixed? If adding a toggle is so hard, perhaps the patch that added > this 'feature' could be reverted or backed out? I agree 100% with your comment, Ian, it was a very unwanted 'feature' for the way I use Calc. I won't upgrade into the mess created by this 'improvement' because it will break some huge spreadsheets I work with daily and require a lot of rework. That is, all upgrades to Calc are on hold until a way to easily "kill" this unwanted feature is provided. [Bug 160920] Allow choosing the page style from the sheets tab
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160920 --- Comment #11 from ady --- (In reply to Cor Nouws from comment #10) > > The positive in the status bar: the UI space is already used for Page Style > > info. This is a negative for the worksheet Tab, where a new non-essential > I would love to see a broadly accepted and clear definition of > 'non-essential' in the UI/software? By non-essential I mean that there are other ways to achieve the same goal. Having the possibility of selecting a different Page Style, either from the status bar of from the worksheet Tab could be convenient, but there are other ways to achieve it. For instance, in the worksheet Tab, the context menu includes "Move or Copy sheet", which I think it is more relevant in this menu than the suggested Page Style. After some time, we can read the opposite reasoning: "your request for this new UI artifact sounds useful, but that area of the UI already has many items". At some point, adding items is not as much welcome. Carefully considering which precise items are really a plus in a certain context menu eventually reduces the potential unwanted clutter. > > (but potentially useful) context menu item would be added. > > > > The negative in the status bar: the current info is relevant for the current > > worksheet only. When selecting multiple worksheets, perhaps with different > > Page Styles each, there is no indication of the Page Styles in use by the > > other selected worksheets. In such situation, allowing to select a different > > Page Style for the multiple-selection of worksheets would impact all the > > selected worksheets, and it would be easy for users to not notice the > > multiple change. > That is not different to what happens when applying a style in the Manage > Styles pane. > But honestly I think that users that work with multiple sheets selected, can > be considered experienced enough to.. Experienced users make mistakes too. By the time users realize the mistake, it might be too late to undo it. With the current situation, users can modify the Page Style itself from the status bar, but ATM it is not possible (from the status bar) to make the mistake of selecting a different Page Style to "unwanted" worksheets. Since the status bar can show the Page Style that corresponds to the current worksheet _only_ (while having multiple worksheets selected), the chance for this potential mistake increases. That is not to say that the suggested change is not worth it. I was just mentioning some UX details that might be relevant in order to choose whether the suggested context menu (or whichever other UI method) should rather be located on the status bar or on the worksheet Tab, and perhaps to have additional details in mind. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 82662] Feature Request: to add transposed auto filter on columns (rather than rows)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82662 --- Comment #4 from j22...@gmail.com --- (In reply to m_a_riosv from comment #3) > *** Bug 160956 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I am not proposing exactly the same. The case mentioned by Kevin Sup in 2016 does not really need a filter in rows: it can be solved by simply pivoting the table and then applying the traditional column filters. Rather, I am proposing something different: add filters to rows just like the column filters. I expand below. In Calc, you can set a filter to each column. The filter determines which cells are shown below, based on their contents. This gives you a nice flexibility to show data that fits some criteria. But one could argue we are using only half of the possible flexibility: Why not use filters also on the rows? Then we would use the full possibilities of a 2D table (spreadsheet). Steps to Reproduce: Imagine we have a spreadsheet with countries as columns, and different characteristics of each country as rows (population, surface area, CO2 emissions, etc). Actual Results: Using the traditional column filters, we can order them by population, or only show the ones that are below 300 km2 in surface area). But what if, besides those two filters, I want to only show the countries with a GDP higher than 30 M USD? and why if I want to show first (to the left) the ones with less CO2 emissions (ie, order them using CO2 emissions values)? Expected Results: This could be done by opening the possibility of using filters on the columns. As far as I imagine, this does not interfere with any filter applied to the columns. In my example above, the filtered table will show the countries ordered by population (column filter), only show countries with less than 300 in the 'surface area' (column filter), only show countries with GDP higher than 30 M USD of GDP (row filter), and ordered from left to right according to their (ascending) CO2 emissions (row filter). Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: One could argue that the column filters are not really designed for this, but for the cases where the table is pivoted: indicators such as population should be columns, and the countries are the rows. However, if you pivoted the table and apply column filters you would still not be able to reach the same final result as described above. If adding filters to rows is not an option, then another way to improve flexibility is to add the option in the 'standard' filter, where one can add many conditions. Simply use the rows as available variables (maybe adding a tickmark that the first This is what I explained in https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160956#c0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 122469] FILESAVE XLSX, A total result line appears in pivot table after saving
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122469 --- Comment #12 from Jack Romanowicz --- Still happening in 24.2.1.2 Community. Causes real problems when I want to publish a spreadsheet for to a population that mainly uses Excel. The extra line used by the 'Total Result' data impacts the format of the spreadsheet, which contains multiple tables using the same data. The problem has to be with the saving or loading of the pivot table options, since when I un-select the 'Total Rows' option the 'Total Result' line is not created. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
